SupaBwad: Pretty awful. Nothing worked, everything was spilled on. Tons of security to stare at me as i walk in then they're nowhere around when people try to start fights and throw glasses across the bar. Don't get a security job to convince other dudes how hot you are, I'm not interested. They were useless. They have garbage games and none of the buttons work. I didn't have a single game that didn't steal money either. I asked for a well drink and she poured skyy. This place should close.

The pizza, which comes by the slice, is incredibly greasy and barely passes at pizza.But truly what makes this place terrible is the security and management. Both are incredibly rude to non-patrons and those waiting outside, and only care about those inside because they want to get your money. Patrons routinely harass people outside of the bar, and neither management or security dissuades this behavior. Security and management also block off public sidewalks and the only ADA entrances to the nearby parking garage and refuse to let those who park get through to their cars.If you're looking for an arcade bar, do not come here. Start bar does not deserve your money. You will have a much better experience at Up Down in the Central West End.

Cody Cummings: The Thaxton Speakeasy is a well kept secret of downtown St. Louis. Their cocktails are really well made and their beer selection is pretty good too. The bar staff is always a delight, and they add to the vibe of the whole experience. The Thaxton has a great mix of Art Deco and Art Nuevo décor that helps transport you back to the days of prohibition. Finding the speakeasy is the easy part, but you’ll need to snoop around on their social media to find out how to get the secret password of the week. This place makes for a great date night or a cool place to meet up with friends for a good cocktail.

I was put on a waitlist so I thought the place would be hopping…after receiving a texts and being escorted downstairs, I was told to place my order at the bar the have a seat in my assigned seat, which was a wingback chair in the corner. Every party has their own assigned seats here, even the couples seated at the bar. No one was standing or interacting. I had a drink and left. It felt more like a table-service only, speakeasy/restaurant. The space was cool and has tons of potential, but the vibe was flat. Not ideal for solo patrons.

The host is a peculiar guy who is initially intimidating but then you realize that he is appropriately in character for the place’s vibe and it becomes amusing. Drinks are great, music is on point, and decor is beautiful. Highly recommended.
Guy P: I think this place is permanently out of business. Went through the trouble of creating an Instagram account to get the password. Showed up at the alley entrance, rang the door bell. No response, the alley is totally dark, I've been to a lot of speakeasies, there is usually a light by the secret entrance, this place is totally dark. Very dangerous. Don't go.

Ric Castillo: Stumbled across this well-appointed, hidden spot just before New Year's weekend and went a couple of times. Beautiful details convey the period well. Have your password ready and banter a little with the doorman. Once seated, walk up to the bar to order. First cocktail was obviously for the crowds, but talk to the clever and accommodating staff: they'll make you something more interesting. Don't like cocktails (...I mean, why?) - they even have Montucky!

Maurice Ward: Went there to visit my first time going. Bad experience. I put 30 dollars worth of money in the music machine to only hear heavy metal all night long. Like someone was controlling the music and didnt want any hiphop or rnb to play.
Cody Cummings: This our neighborhood bar. It’s an excellent place to pop in to watch the Blues and grab a beer. Their selection is great, and their bartenders are great. There’s always a friendly face at the bar, and new comers are welcome. We stopped in after we move down the street, and we fell in love with the place. If you hang out on the weekends, you can grab a hot dog from the street vendor after 9pm.
Nikita Smith: They are racist. I came in before 3am and they refused to serve me. It was last call at 2:50. I walked in at 2:45. There was no rational for the bartender or waitresses as to why they would not serve me, other than “you are black and you need to go”. I’ve been here before, right before 3am and had no issue until today. Will never go back again.

Kelly Bernards: First time here on Saturday night with a couple of friends, the bartender Danielle was drunk as she said hi and took our orders. Drinks came out without mixers that had been asked for and when I closed my tab there was an extra charge on there for a drink we had not ordered or received. I tried to inform her of this mistake but she was too drunk to understand and so the tab was not corrected. It was very busy here so it must normally be a good experience but it didn’t leave a good first impression on us. Wouldn’t recommend going here and we won’t be back.

Jeffrey Hyde: I enjoyed my pizza dinner at Over/Under. Prices were reasonable and the food was good. When I was there, it was not terribly busy but there was a lot of background noise. In a lot of ways, it’s a typical sports bar sort of place, with better food than most. My server was extremely friendly and helpful without being overbearing. But boy, tonight the bar was full and the dining/lounge area was only about 60-70% full, we order drinks, waited nearly 25 mins for them. Once they were delivered we never saw or heard from waiter…or waitress again. After being there an hour we had a total of one drink and zero food. We cashed out our bill and walked across the street on taco Tues.Has to be the worst customer service we have had in St Louis in a long time.Beautiful place, decent drinks but no one could pay me to spend another dollar at this careless restaurant.

Alan: I enjoyed my time at this whiskey bar. They have about 20 single malts (plus bourbon and rye) from which to choose. The choices were extensive and good but nothing really, over the top, exotic. Prices were reasonable at mostly under $20 a nip. Had the lox snack which was excellent and went surprisingly well with the scotch. Bartenders are friendly and helpful.Nice place to relax.

Jennifer Jablonowski: We were craving a cocktail on our last evening in St. Louis and stumbled upon Taste. We were able to make same day reservations which was really nice. As for the restaurant itself, it has a great ambiance, very romantic for a date night. The cocktails were amazing and the food was not far behind. We weren’t very hungry so only enjoyed the tomato salad and the mussels, but honestly we wanted to try it all. We got the olive oil cake for dessert and it was perfection. Service was also great. Can’t say enough good things about Taste. We hope to be back next time we’re in St. Louis!
Sabrina Skerston: All the drinks were excellent. I like the option of a bartender's choice drink since you can have something unexpected. The olive oil cake was delicious. When they served my date's entree, they let us know that mine wasn't ready yet so they gave us a free appetizer. I didn't complain, they immediately just let me pick an item for them to comp. Kinelam Howard (Kinelam Bolgaire): My family and I were visiting STL and on our first night out decided on Taste on their Grand ReOpening Day---and we were absolutely blown away. The high-end American plates were so delicious, most notably the cheese curds, the cornbread, and the pork burger! On top of that, the drinks were top-notch. And the drinks were so good. Had the Old Fashioned (probably the best ever) and Blacker the Berry.What also made our night was the energy of the staff. They were so friendly, worked so well together, and made sure that we were having the best time ever. The handsome, young executive Chef, Elliott, personally came to our table to introduce himself and offer us background on some of the delicious dishes we were enjoying. It was a very cool move and it definitely was the cherry on top!Would recommend to all who lives or visits STL. And we are back, this is definitely one of the places I would have to see again.

Tina Thies: This place is a hidden gem! Taste is the key to your senses, the food is amazing (best mushrooms we’ve had, down to the pickled shaved vegetables under it, sooo good!) the bartenders are more like mixologists but there is nothing uptight about this place. It is so comfortable and inviting! Even the bathrooms smell amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed it!
Neira Kartal: The only reason this place is getting 2 stars from me is because I like their food. Cocktails are good, but very, very small.The reason for my 2-star review is Unfriendliness of this place! I have been a customer for a past year, maybe a little less, and have yet to run into a friendly staff member! Last time I visited this place was just terrible customer service on part of the hostess who behaves like she's literally a Hollywood star plastic surgeon: I have never seen in my life hostess so full of herself. I walked in, and wanted to sit at a bar with my husband and a friend, and there WAS enough room at a bar for 5 people, but she said "We don't have enough space for all of you", and I said: "Well, I don't mind standing if you're missing a chair", to which she replied: "Per my manager's policy I am not allowed to let you do that." I said OK, and she just stood there looking down at me. All three of us looked at each other confused as to what was going on, and we just walked out. SHE REFUSED to service us, although we were more then appropriately dressed, and not even close to being drunk because we had not had a single drink prior to coming here. Also, let me mention that it was 9:30pm, so not an extremely busy time. She was never very pleasant, whenever me and my husband were there, and tends to brush me off every time I'm there, but this last time was just too much. I can't believe that a place like this would allow something like that to happen!!! I have taken 15 minutes of my time to contact the bar via the contact page, but it has been 4 days, and I still haven't gotten any reply. Ridiculous.

Tamara C.: We went to take a peek (with our two kids) on the balcony and we loudly and aggressively verbally disciplined by a co-worker. Apparently there was a private party on the balcony (no indication balcony closed) which I completely understand but the way we’re loudly and aggressively treated was completely unacceptable. We will not go back. Oh yea - we were celebrating a birthday.

Qiante Wagner: Great outdoor bar with an amazing view of the STL skyline! Lots of space and they do a good job at making sure it doesn't get too crowded up there even on weekends! Can also see right into Cardinals stadium so a great place to catch a little piece of the game on game days!

Heather Andry: The food & atmosphere were fantastic but the service was terrible! Sat at the bar & got served quickly. We wanted to order more food & drinks but our bartender disappeared for over 20 minutes. When she did come back it took forever to get our tab to leave.
Amelia Churaman: Was in STL for a business trip. Pros: Great views of downtown STL, Busch Stadium, and the Arch. Good food. Do not have to wait to be seated as it’s “open seating”. Cons: Because it is open seating, you will sometimes wait 15-20 mins before a server notices you and gives you a menu. Severely understaffed so expect long wait times for food, drinks, and your bill unless you are a large group.

Tom A: There was a about a 20 minute wait downstairs at the elevator but it was well worth the wait. There's also a bar downstairs close to the elevator for some drinks which is nice. The best part about this place is the vibe and views. The views are amazing!!!!!!! Good service. Great variety of drinks as wel. If you haven't checked this place out it's a must! If you're visiting from out of town 100% make this a stop!!!! You won't regret it!!!

Olivia Zupko (Graham): The 360 Rooftop was cool to see at night, however very packed with minimal room to explore. The two bartenders were fabulous & welcoming. If we went again, I would attempt to go in the daylight, as to utilize the 360° views from the bar.
Jonathan Morris: Nice spot. Cool views. Some bar tenders are better than others. One specifically (the obviously drunk guy) was terrible and the other guys were constantly covering for him and picking up his slack. Food was nice, very well priced and cool views. Highly recommend if you are in town for a trade show.
Sarah Ray: I came here for drinks with a friend. The views are amazing and the staff is friendly and accommodating. It gets busy in the late evening but the atmosphere is great.
Catherine England: The atmosphere is really fun, the service is really good, and the views were awesome but the food wasn't great. I'm sure the drinks would have been good, but we went for dinner.

Mechelle F: We went to celebrate my daughters birthday. She passed away in February. I emailed April and she immediately responded back and made the reservation for us. Staff was informed for the reasoning as to why we were coming and after we ate they brought out dessert on the house. Yesterday was such a hard day for me, but the staff here made it so much easier. The food was great. The atmosphere was great and I loved the staff.
