Mark Zeman: Small neighborhood bar with glass brick windows that provide great light and a cozy feel. Warm wood interior, good drink selection, very pleasant wait staff, and a small yet ambitious menu. The back patio is great in the Spring time! Sara Keller: We did the 10 course tasting, which was great. It felt like the chef cared about the food he was putting out. The presentation was spot on. Next time, I think I would just do the 5 course tasting. It was just so much food with the 10 that I couldn't finish everything. Mike Akerly: Completely empty when I arrived, I intended to grab a seat at the bar for dinner and some wine. Not exactly the type of environment one would enjoy a solo dinner in. The host stopped me to gather all of my contact info. I told him I wasn't interested in receiving marketing and he told me "it's required for Covid contact tracing." this was in March of 2023. Consider whether you'll support this type of behavior before joining them.

katie krus: Very disappointing for the amount of money we spent. I am all for spending money on great food but this did not live up to expectations. When we walked in for a 6:00 reservation, there were only 2 other tables full which was a bit alarming to start.We did the 5 course meals and my husband and I each tried different dishes. The menu had great potential but total lack of execution by the kitchen. The drinks had fun names and were presented beautifully with good flavor. The crab croquette was my favorite dish of the whole meal - delicious with the squid ink, however, my husband thought it was a bit too salty. The shaved Foie Gras was pretty good but had a very strange texture with the beets and did not have a good presentation. Kind of looked like slop. The French onion soup was good. The Bibb lettuce salad was below average. I make better salads on a whim at home. Absolutely nothing special about it. Bluefin Carpaccio was supposed to be an uncommon dish so that is why I chose it. It had a very fishy taste and smell, almost looked grey on the dish and had poor presentation. It was my least favorite dish. The waiter told us “the Buttermilk Fried Poussin is the best fried chicken you will ever eat” and also made sure to reiterate it was not pigeon which we found strange. (Of course it’s chicken!). It was decent but nothing near the best fried chicken I’ve ever had and it was difficult to get off the bone - not a ton of meat. My husband ordered the elk chop medium rare and it came out well done and honestly looked pathetic. It looked like a shriveled up piece of meat. Lastly, for dessert I had the beignets. They tasted burnt/over fried and lacked depth in flavor. Very disappointing overall after having this place on my “go to” list for years.

The lamb was by far my favorite and the wagyu my wife got!If you’re doing the tasting, I would expect to pay $100+ per person with drinks, etc. They do have all carte as well if you wanted to get only a few and pay less.However, well worth the experience for a special occasion!

Michael Hayes: Be warned! This is not a real cocktail bar. Sitting at the bar you can see that all cocktails are premixed in bottles. Ours was delivered lukewarm because it wasn’t even shaken with ice. Go somewhere else if you want an actual cocktail.

The small plates of food are all shareable-style and delicious, so try a couple! Whether you’re looking for a place to start or end your night, you can’t go wrong with Brennan’s.

But boy, tonight the bar was full and the dining/lounge area was only about 60-70% full, we order drinks, waited nearly 25 mins for them. Once they were delivered we never saw or heard from waiter…or waitress again. After being there an hour we had a total of one drink and zero food. We cashed out our bill and walked across the street on taco Tues.Has to be the worst customer service we have had in St Louis in a long time.Beautiful place, decent drinks but no one could pay me to spend another dollar at this careless restaurant.

Alan: I enjoyed my time at this whiskey bar. They have about 20 single malts (plus bourbon and rye) from which to choose. The choices were extensive and good but nothing really, over the top, exotic. Prices were reasonable at mostly under $20 a nip. Had the lox snack which was excellent and went surprisingly well with the scotch. Bartenders are friendly and helpful.Nice place to relax.

Mechelle F: We went to celebrate my daughters birthday. She passed away in February. I emailed April and she immediately responded back and made the reservation for us. Staff was informed for the reasoning as to why we were coming and after we ate they brought out dessert on the house. Yesterday was such a hard day for me, but the staff here made it so much easier. Andy Johnston: Tried Crafted. with my partner for the first time tonight . The food and service was spectacular . We came on Wednesday which to our surprise was “burger night” and we got $5 off per burger , which was already reasonably priced to begin with. The burgers were super flavorful and the toppings were fresh. 10/10 just for the burgers alone . I had water to drink, which was super cold and served in a nice glass bottle for self refilling. My partner had the Pressed Honey Bear Smash cocktail . It came with an empty garnished glass and a cocktail press that you self poured as well (pictured). For dessert we had cherry cheesecake , and it was AMAZING. 10/10 recommend this place.

They ordered the croissant sandwich with fried eggs, the waitress raved about how good it was. The eggs were runny, waitress took the food back, came back with the same plate as if it was warmed up. The mimosas was the only good thing. I tried to explain the taste of the chicken breast (for chicken and waffles) waitress stated no one else had any complaints. Never made any other suggestions. As if she cooked it. Either way we will not come back. Food was SUBPAR. Service was SuBpar, had to traveled up the street for food. (Ate nothing paid SOMETHING…..What a Sunday fun DAY! )
Grace Austin: We absolutely loved our experience here. My partner is gluten-free and it is so awesome to find a restaurant that has such a wide variety of items on their menu. Patricia Cowan: Horrendous experience due to the waitress, Nicki. Yearly a group of 12 friends aged 45-65 meet at Crafted for dinner and drinks. We meet at five o’clock. The place was nearly empty this year as is often the case at this time. Lots of empty tables. We were seated. Nicki was our waitress. All ordering cocktails and dinners. From her first sentence she was rude and let us know they don’t want business. She did everything she could huffing and puffing and eye rolling, etc to ensure we left quickly and that we never come back. We are good payers and good tippers. There is no way the owner would appreciate her attitude. It’s the worst service my husband and I have had in several years. Don’t go here. The waitresses don’t want customers.

Mrs. Cr.: This food is your grandmother’s cooking in 2020!!! Now, my turkey wing was off the chain, but kind of dry. They are reasonably priced , more food and less money. No I’m not related to anyone who works there. Their food is great!!! No need to stand in a line for food, at least not yet. This is a best kept secret on the city!!!!! The only real problem I had is there was no gravy for my dressing.

This past Friday, there was NO sign of that. The waiter and host were fantastic. The waiter was attentive and friendly. Seems as if there's 1 or 2 people on tables, 1 person in the kitchen, one host, and the other 3 to 4 employees seem to be doing nothing other than staring at people that need help and chose to do nothing. But while I wait for someone, anyone to come to the table I can write this review.I applaud how clean the place is it's the cleanest I have seen it, but wowzer operationally whoever is in charge needs to address how things work. I don't think you have to spaghetti diagram the front of the house, but it would show a lot of the operational issues.The food seems to more about looks than it used to be. Most guilty of this is the bruschetta. It looks good on the plate but when it comes to eating it, it doesn't make any sense to serve the bread this way because it's difficult to eat. Again the preparation was clean/meaning not dirty, but... There was nothing of note like there used to be.I won't come back as what used to be The Fountain on Locust feels more like "it used to be The Fountain."
