Maya Yoga: what do users think?
Carol Petrini: Positive:Professionalism,QualityWelcoming environment and knowledgeable, supportive instructors. Highly recommend!
Lisa: Maya Yoga and the teachers are top notch. The teacher training program is comprehensive and you feel well prepared coming out. The teachers truly care about every aspect of training and took great steps to be flexible during a pandemic, offering online options and making the extra effort to ensure that the training was quality. You always feel welcome at Maya in every class be it in person or online. I would highly recommend Maya to anyone interested in the TT program or just looking for a welcoming studio to take classes with knowledgeable teachers.
Kelly Gerken: Teachers and yoga studio itself - great, one of the best I've ever practiced at. Wonderful intro to Ashtanga and lots of talented guest teachers. The new management and communication with customers - some of the worst I've experienced.
Arien Cox: Best yoga place in town. Truly a spiritual experience
Josiah B: Very warm and inviting. I went, very bleary-eyed, to the 6 AM Intro to Ashtanga class and left feeling challenged, but also energized and mentally prepared for the day. I would recommend this class to anyone wanting to get into Ashtanga Yoga.I'm also a beginner. It's worth noting that I'm not very good at Yoga, yet (perhaps a word reordering to "very not good at Yoga" is more appropriate for describing my skill level), but I didn't feel judged for having trouble with some of the movements and even falling over once or twice. Great place to get started, but as evidenced by the people in the class, there's enough there to keep the advanced practitioners coming back.
Rachel Scott: You won't find a better yoga studio in KC. Take a class and see for yourself.
C: I was first introduced to Ashtanga at Maya, and can certainly say the bar is set high. I practiced with Kathleen and Wade for 1 1/2 years prior to moving out of state. In that time I traveled weekly for work, and made sure to visit any ashtanga or vinyasa studio I could. Outside of my experience on the West coast, there's nothing like Maya. They don't expect everyone to be an expert. They will teach you. I started yoga to help recover from a back injury. They pushed me hard when I was weak, and also when I was much stronger. Show up, work hard, and you will have plenty of reasons to be grateful.
Congress of the Rhino: This is the best yoga studio I have ever been to, and I have been to many all across the nation. I have since moved away from Kansas City, and more than anything the search for at least an equal studio has been quite the task. They somehow make the strict Ashtanga teachings seem fun, and the yoga community they've built from scratch is quite remarkable. Check this place out, whether you live in KC or are just visiting, you will not regret it.
Margaret Helwig: I fell in love with yoga through Maya Yoga. Instructors here teach the fundamentals, providing hands-on adjustments to help the practitioner feel the true expression of each pose. Each pose is modified as well as extended to give a challenge to yogis at all levels. I found yoga after being told I needed to stop running due to an injury, and I found I was able to continue to challenge myself physically, as well as quiet my mind through yoga at Maya in the same way I used to require from running. A beautiful, warm, energizing studio- this is the place to learn and grow your yoga practice.
Rebecca Brown: Maya Yoga helps one expand the body and mind in a soulful way. The ability of Kathleen, Wade, and other yogis who teach there to intuitively and kindly persuade your yoga practice to a level previously unimaginable, is astonishing. The results are a sleek, yet stronger musculature, as well as a calmer state of being. This calm not only stems from the physical practice, but also from the spiritual focus of the studio, which brings you closer to the essence of God. This agnostic follower has found healing, enlightenment, and spiritual well-being from both the Ashtanga practice and the meditation classes they lead. I encourage anyone who is feeling disenfranchised with the cardiovascular and weight-training workouts offered at gyms to come try Ashtanga yoga at Maya Yoga.
Amber Savage: Maya Studio is the best in Kansas City when it comes to learning and maintaining an Ashtanga practice. Whether you are just looking to drop in and test your endurance, strength, and flexibility or looking to commit to a practice that will change your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual side in a positive way Maya is the place to be. The yoga community at Maya is a place to expand your knowledge and a place to call home. I am so grateful to have stumbled across Maya and will continue to welcome the positive changes it brings into my life. Kathleen and Wade both have unique and challenging methods to their teachings and discipline that will keep you coming back for more! Make sure to check it out.
Ana Evans: I highly recommend Maya Yoga! It is a beautiful studio. Kathleen and Wade are highly knowledgeable and truly caring about every one of their students. Their love and dedication to their practice is inspiring and contagious. Under their instruction I have been able to grow my practice in a way I was never able to in the past. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced practitioner there is a class at Maya for you!
Jessica Rousseau: A warm and welcoming place, this yoga studio is a peaceful and inspiring space. Kathleen and Wade have clearly put their hearts and souls into making Maya Yoga the best possible studio for Kansas City. They are well trained in the practice of Ashtanga as well as up to date on the philosophies and physical effects of the art. An experience at Maya is an experience in dedication and the teachers are devoted to helping their students maintain healthy practices and peaceful lives.

Yoga Patch: what do users think?
Sarah Mackay: This space with the teachers and students is so welcoming for everyone. I started taking classes with a friend a few years ago, having been being very unflexible for my entire life and always saying that I "Don't do yoga". The teachers that I started with specialized in slow flows and meditatiive classes and helped me to feel secure in where my body should be in each pose and how to make it work for my level of flexibility. I was hooked and have been a student here for the past 4 years. I love the community in this space - you can feel it when you walk in. There are plants everywhere, multiple studios as well as a cafe and shop for fun items, pet birds that sing to you as you are in the space, and people that are real and wonderful. Maria, the owner, has created something magical here - a safe and welcoming space to be, to move, to stretch, and to breathe.
poonam bhyan: I have been practicing yoga for 10 years now and I’m beyond disappointed in this studio. Their facility and space is very spacious and natural feel with plants etc. However, their yoga classes are very basic level and hardly any teacher does or teaches advanced level poses. More importantly, I felt so much negative energy and tension in this place especially with couple of teachers who I felt were outright rude, very unwelcoming & even racists.I have lived in DC, New York, North Carolina and have especially noticed that among trainers, yoga teachers are specially the most mentally peaceful people, they are kind and they are role models by their attitude and their behavior. This is the first place I felt that their teachers have may be learnt sequences of asanas but not the real meaning/essence of yoga. They definitely have work to do on themselves before they teach others. Adios!
Carolina Santiago: What an amazing place to practice! They have a variety of classes with really good instructors. No matter what class I have taken I’ve had a great experience and left feeling recharged.
Jen S.: Yoga Patch is an exceptional studio. It is a warm and welcoming space, and the instructors are all wonderful. There is a meaningful emphasis on mindfulness and meditation—I always feel noticeably lighter after class. I am so glad that I found my way to Yoga Patch!
Chanelle Johnson: First time going to yoga patch and had a great time in hip hop yoga taught by Veronica. I can't wait to come back!
Bryan Miller: Very clean, polite, professional, safe, and AMAZINGLY relaxing. This is like a hard reset for your body. Pain, stress, anxiety, and PTSD are greatly reduced!
A L: I just started practicing yoga and I feel so welcomed and comfortable in this space despite being a newcomer to the practice. Every instructor I've had here has been wonderful and offered lots of modifications to suit the needs of everyone in the classroom, and they've been approachable for any questions and offered supportive advice. I am so happy I found Yoga Patch to continue to grow my daily yoga practice with. I cannot say enough good things about this gorgeous space!
Will Hall: One of the best yoga classes I have ever taken - thanks to the consent cards teacher Kate wisely offered to opt-in to instructive touch. I hope this becomes widespread in the yoga industry and am grateful to Kate and Yoga Patch for helping lead the way.
Abby Condon: Such a beautiful studio with diverse classes, gorgeous and warm atmosphere, and the kindest owner. She even hand delivered a yoga block to me over COVID, when I had just had a baby!
Auburn Ellis: Such a dynamic space with so many offerings! Yoga classes in Spanish, hot yoga, silks-I truly enjoy every bit. The space is also peaceful & beautiful with great instructors to match the vibe.
Shelby: There’s so many amazing things I could say about Yoga Patch. No matter where you’re at in your practice, the teachers and students are warm, welcoming and accepting. I always leave here feeling so full and whole. I’ve found wonderful teachers here at Yoga Patch and I’ve begun to heal in ways I no longer thought were possible for me. It’s a safe and validating environment to show up just as you are. There’s a variety of classes offered throughout the day to meet your scheduling needs, too. I highly recommend this studio. I can’t thank you enough, Yoga Patch!
michelle gordon: Any class guided by Anna Koehler is the perfect gift to give yourself or anyone you care about and humanity at large! I participated in my first evening class with her last night and slept better than I have in months and literally woke up laughing several times! The sincerity in her guidance is awe-striking and will change your life.Anna has the gift of transforming the confines of a physical space into a universe of endless possibilities. Her practice encompasses all of our senses that frequently get overlooked in western yoga practice. The powerful healing properties in her voice alone are worth investing your time. She guides verbally, visually, energetically and physically-best adjustments ever! Her generous spirit will take your yoga practice to a deeper level and you will experience a shavasana of a lifetime.
Brock Exline: I have been following Yoga Patch since being on Wornall. U can’t find a more caring group of like minded people in the area. I can’t say enough about how they have trudged thru the pandemic and still created a since of calm and belonging. I feel lucky to attend a safe/ social distanced/ masked class when ever I can ( and on line when I can’t). Thank you Maria!
Cami Reign: So far so good, I have only attended one class so far but it definitely made me want to go back. I love all the plants and the whole calmness about the building and the yoga session was amazing. I plan on trying every class they have, it's an amazing way to get out of the house right now and they are very mindful of social distancing. So 3 weeks in and still loving it. Will definitely keep going.
Molly Flynn: Best yoga class in KC on Wednesday night at yogapatch with Anna K. The room is gorgeous.... candles, a fireplace and it smells amazing. The music is fun and hits exactly on point with the movement. The combination of escaping into this gorgeous studio with an awesome instructor for relaxation while simultaneously getting an awesome workout is top notch
Laura Klover: I go weekly just to attend Anna Koehler’s classes. Her hot flow and iron yoga are KILLER! She’s hands on and energetic which keeps classes exciting!
Derek Garcia: Yoga patch has an amazing Shangri-la feel to it. You step in and feel the positive energy. As far as class selection goes, we are pretty much spoiled for choice. Whatever your preference, it is likely they have a quality class, usually more than one, for you to enjoy. With 3 rooms they are able to accomodate a lot of classes and people. All of the teachers I have been to (about 8) have been extremely knowledgeable and led wonderful flows. They have classes throughout the day to fit everyone's schedules. They also have kid's yoga classes! The hidden gem of Waldo!
Kate Feder: I've been practicing yoga for about 15 years, and when I moved back to Kansas City after college, I found Yoga Patch online when looking for a place to practice regularly. The first class I took was Rachel's Hot Flow, and I was immediately hooked. So much so that after about 6 months, I joined their new Teacher Training program. It's been about 4 years since I first walked through the door, and not only do I still hit up Rachel's class when I can, I now teach 3 classes a week and attend others regularly. I've seen this studio become a community for so many who needed one, a home for small businesses and non-profits, and a life-changing outlet for people with all types of limitations and insecurities, physically and mentally, that made them think yoga wasn't for them. YP's classes are truly for everyone - there's more than 60 classes a week, almost half of which are offered for $5-$8, and dozens of workshops and trainings each year. All of this is a testament to the owner - Maria Murphy - and her passion for empowering others and her selfless love of this community. I know I'm biased, but only because once you get to know YP, most people find they have no choice but to get involved.
Sage Harper: Gwendolyn White (Buti Yoga)is extremely disrespectful & very standoffish. I’m beyond disappointed that we need to find a different yoga studio considering me & 5 of my friends were about to purchase a year upfront memberships. She’s put a sour taste in our mouths. You’d normally expect to be greeted by a yoga teacher kindly & respectfully. Typically they tend to have a sense of zen about them but the negative energy was very unwelcoming & discouraging.I understand that one teacher shouldn’t dictate the overall vibe of a studio but we’ve never been so incredibly disrespected in a yoga studio for asking a few questions.
Derek Black: I went to Brandon Vogt's Yoga Basics class. It was the best Yoga class that I've ever gone to. He's also a musician and plays his guitar at the end.
Daniel Edwards: Coffee

Lisa Ash Yoga: what do users think?
Diane Clarkson: I was so happy to find this wonderful yoga studio! The instructors are not only wonderful and inspirational but they are truly among the kindest (and fun😊) yogis I’ve ever had. I look forward to my practice at the studio.. just the best!!
Melea Siebert: To say Lisa is kind and knowledgeable is an understatement!! I cannot say enough good things about her and her staff. Fantastic workshop. I’m not a yoga instructor but a practitioner, and the information covered in the workshop is truly applicable to anyone. Practical & easy to understand.
Emily Devers: What a treat to find Lisa Ash Yoga! The studio space is welcoming and sacred. I have tried many of the classes ranging from Restorative to Stretch and Strengthen and the teachers are knowledgeable and supportive. I love the small class size and personalized attention. Lisa also has an online subscription with access to specialized therapeutic classes. Lisa’s in person trainings are top notch…a great option for yoga teachers or yoga students wishing to dive deep into meditation, restorative yoga, yin, myofascial release and more!
Amber Defore: The Restore and Meditate Training was INCREDIBLE. Not only am I a more confident teacher of the practice after this training, but I feel equipped with the knowledge and tools to better handle the stress of my life as a mom, wife, employee, human, etc. I’m leaving feeling inspired, hopeful and ready to take on the world.
James Ash: Lisa developed a personal protocol for me to address chronic lower back issues. The relief was almost immediate and in less than a week I the pain was completely relieved. The routine takes less than 10 minutes and I can do it anywhere, even in my hotel room when traveling.
Kim Johnson: Renting Lisa Ash Yoga studio has been an easy & all around life enhancing for myself and my private yoga client who wanted to get back into a studio post pandemic. Emailing with Heather, the manager, for first time scheduling and responsibilities is quick and clear making it pretty seamless to rent the studio for my students practice time. We’ve continued to rent the studio for our twice a week practices and love it!
Katja Cahoon: This is a beautiful space - I did a group there and have also taken classes there. Lisa and Heather are a pleasure to work with!
Tayler: I rented this space for Authentic Relating events. This space was prefect!
tasjha dixon: This place is like “church”/“ashram”/“sangha”. This is where I go when I need to reconnect to my Divine Feminine energy. When I need to commune with my Higher Self. When I need “therapy”, yoga/meditation is The Therapist. And the “guides”/“teachers” at this studio are heaven-sent, in my opinion.
Kathy Damron: If you ever get a chance to take a yoga class with Lisa, do it! She is a lovely person whose warmth and knowledge make for an ideal teacher. She sets a welcoming tone for her classes, creating space for all students ❤️
Shelly Doucet: Heather is a gentle guide in a wonderfully restful and restorative yoga class. The studio provides a calm, elegant environment, complete with pillows, blankets, and blocks. (Bring your own mat or rent one there). Attending her class is a gift!
Aimee Patton: I take a meditation and stress relief class weekly. I suffer from chronic pain and I can't express how much this class helps control my pain and allows me a time to relax. I use the methods taught in the class throughout the week. It's truly a wonderful experience. I can't recommend it enough!
Shelby Exposito: Classes are a great balance of mental and physical. Each class has something new - a unique combination of moves or a stretch I've never seen - that ends up being deceptively challenging!
Shelli Baldwin: Lisa Ash Yoga has been a wonderful find! The workshops are well organized and very informative. I will definitely be back!
Julie Kircher: Fabulous classes and experience!
Susanne Watson: This is an absolutely delightful studio! The stretch and strengthen class is wonderful and Lisa and the whole community are very warm and welcoming. I'm so glad I found this studio and can't wait to return!
Candace Potter Wilson: Lisa is AMAZING - this fall, I've taken two 6-week pre-natal yoga sessions and have been so grateful for the experience. Lisa makes sure the classes target the challenge areas that expecting mamas and new mothers are facing (both physically and mentally) and creates such an inviting space. I HIGHLY recommend any of her yoga classes (have some other in-person and online classes with her over the years).
Larry Owens: Just what I was looking for! A Personal Yoga Therapeutic session with Lisa quickly identified my specific problem areas and has considerably improved my situation. This was much more effective for me than physical therapy and I give my highest recommendation.
Janice Friesen: I have Ataxia and have been walking unbalanced and struggling with it for a long time. Lisa worked with me and has taught me to do many thing that are really helping. She has an eye for which parts of your body are weak or moving the wrong way. She also seems to have a sense of what can be worked on and what maybe is just something to work around.
Brittany Goodman Craig: I'm so happy to have found Lisa and her yoga studio! It's been amazing to connect with other pregnant women and mamas, and Lisa has really helped me get through my pregnancy-related aches and pains. I look forward to her class every week!
Sara Fahring: Love it here.

cameron chase: Positive:ProfessionalismLove the staff here and that makes all the difference!
Melanie Eubank: Whether you are looking for relaxing restorative yoga or a workout that isn't hot yoga, this is the place. I leave feeling great each time.
neil solomon: Open just wear a mask, Owner Nancy is a skilled and experienced teacher. Several great classes to choose from. In person or online, very reasonable pricing.
Frank Kaul: Kind and lovely
Jonathan Riley: I love this place, the instructors and owner are welcoming, friendly and most importantly, skilled teachers. They have a wide variety of Yoga classes 7 days a week, mornings to evenings.A far shot from your average gym Yoga class, expect much more depth and quality instruction.
Tresa Carter: Truly a yoga community that is welcoming to all ages, abilities, genders, races, you name it. This is a studio that is not intimidating and a perfect place to learn what yoga is or to get advanced instruction if you are farther along in your practice. I highly recommend taking a class here and staying for a cup of tea afterward!
Mg 0: Warm & welcoming to all, regardless of your yoga experience (or newness to it). Impressive variety of classes, from yin yoga to aerial to vinyasa. And, it’s (one of ?) the only in this part of KCMO to have classes on Sundays.

Yoga Soul KC: what do users think?
Benjamin Munoz: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityI have been in for 3 sessions with Emma Brown and she has helped me immensely. She even asked me to bring in my cello so she could analyze what could be causing problems. I would highly recommend her to anyone living with body pain!!!
Nancy Weber: The thought of me, doing yoga on a regular basis is something I never thought was possible. I am anxious, I get bored, and I am not great at zen. I like to go! That being said here I am. I am learning to breath, be still, balance, and stretch. I don’t think this would have been possible without Melissa and yoga soul KC. I have never experienced yoga like this. It’s special. It is approachable, without an ounce of judgment or pretension. The class flows in a way to keep me engaged, and never bored. It’s been almost 3 months of regular practice for the first time in my life, and I am feeling the change thanks to this wonderful studio.
Sally Hodges: I am very new to Yoga but Melissa, Emily, and Erran are warm and accepting but also know how to challenge you for growth. Whether you are looking for a transformative mind and body experience or simply need a moment to heat up and calm down, Yoga Soul KC is the studio to make that happen.
Kyle Jensen: Recently visited Yoga Soul for a massage and was very impressed. I have been a practicing Chiropractor for 10 years and easily say that Emma is one of the best massage therapists in the city. Scheduling was easy and prices are affordable. The space is a beautiful modern design with a large and gorgeous rest room, hardwood floors, and high ceilings. I cannot recommend it enough!!!
Tricia French: What a Gem! This is studio is amazing. The space is clean and beautiful. It just feels good to be there. The owner and teachers are so kind and knowledgeable. I always walk away with new and valuable information about my practice. I wish I had a place like this when I was just getting started. It’s the perfect place to come in as a beginner and evolve. There are a variety of classes that covers all levels and intentions. I highly recommend giving this place a try. You’ll quickly find yourself at home.
Kim Johnson: Where KC teachers from around the city come to practice. That says it all.
Tiffany Clouse: This studio opened less than five minutes from my home and I currently don’t have a yoga studio that I regularly frequent so I was excited to try it. (My favorite studio closed a couple years ago, and I don’t like the feel of corporate yoga studios.) I absolutely loved the energy of the space. Carrie and Erran led wonderful mindful classes. I’m very excited to continue building my practice here.
Po Sim “Fanny” Head: I like this new yoga place! I took two classes there and they were both amazing! Erran and Melissa are great teachers! I think I have found a place that I will continue going regularly.

CorePower Yoga: what do users think?
Harry Engel: Amazing staff!
Kate Beem: Really great studio and beautiful space! Instructors are so encouraging!
francesca f: Centro yoga molto bello e pulito, tutti professionali
Anne Tierney: The instructors are so helpful and encouraging.
Kate McCandless: Love the variety of classes at all hours of the day and evening. Sculpt for cardio and weight training, and various level yoga classes. I never thought I'd do hot yoga but now I'm pretty addicted! It's so good for pain, joints and taking that shower (the locker room provides) afterwards is glorious. The staff is so kind and friendly. The space is clean. There are Core Powers all over the country so you can take classes if you travel.
Christopher Russett: Madi and Kristine are amazing! Excellent teachers :)
Kendrea White: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityKrissy is an excellent instructor and very passionate about her practice and clientele.
Rebecca Tede: They randomly charged me for a membership I had cancelled months prior. When I emailed them about this, they replied with a generic email, and then altogether stopped responding to me. I was very specific in my email about the charge, and the one response I received did not mention helping me with the charge. I also waited on hold for 10 minutes just to get hung up on 3 times.
Krista Reynolds: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality
Laura Wiltshire: Love the instructors here - always emitting great energy, leading varied flows for a great workout.
Ivan Gonzalez: This is my favorite yoga studio in the Kansas City area. The instructors are great and I love the vibe in this place. But most important of all are the benefits that practicing yoga has had on my overall physical and mental health. I feel more energized and focused when I practice regularly. I love it!
Sandy Gray: Positive:Professionalism
Chelsea Johnsen: I just had the absolute best yoga class with Carlie. She is such an incredible teacher and her flows are beautiful bootykickers! Definitely recommend taking her classes, I’m only in town for a little while longer but will be back. Such a great intro into CorePower and my first in person class since COVID, felt safe comfortable and welcomed—and got a really good sweat on!
Theresa McGraw: I cherish my yoga community so much! I appreciate the great lengths the instructors and manager take to keep people safe and grounded during the pandemic. High quality instruction provided by the best humans around!
Lauren Gonzalez: Over the last few months, I have regularly been attending yoga sculpt classes instructed by Ashlyn Jumpponen. Her enthusiastic energy keeps the entire class engaged and motivated. Ashlyn regularly changes her class sequences and playlists. This keeps me excited to attend classes. Since taking her classes, I feel more toned and am consistently meeting my calorie burn goals each class. Moreover, in general, great staff, great classes, and the studio is going out of their way to create a safe environment for members to continue working out during the pandemic (i.e. mask requirement, temperature checks).
Cody Bradley: Everyone here is great! Nice facilities. Also Mahomes & Brittany come here. So.
Sarah Daniel: I love the atmosphere. I’m not super skilled with yoga (yet) and this is a space where I feel safe to explore my practice - never judged for trying and failing an up-level and super encouraged when I succeed.
c l: Went to the monthly free yoga they offer at True Food Kitchen in Country Club Plaza. Great opportunity to try their yoga for free—they integrate core / abs work towards the end of the flow session. Lots of modification options for all levels, & they offer hands-on help if you want it. Also, we got a discount on our brunch that morning since we attended. Awesome way to spend a morning!
Heidi Whitehill: The instructors are kinds and knowledgeable. The studio is clean and smells fresh. I enjoyed the classes that I took at this location.
Amanda Simoniello: Been coming here off and on for years, used to be my favorite place to be and unwind. I am not like all of you, I cannot come inside from a 90 degree + humidity day and be put in a room with other hot sweaty bodies, and and expected to move at a fast pace and " breathe " how can anyone manage? No one complains, and no one seems to care about the opinion of 1 person. They used to offer an array of classes fit to everyone's abilities and schedule. Well I have been in a car accident with the past year and hurt my back so I can't take your sculpt classes anymore and the only other class you offer c2 has become as hot as what HPF USED be... it's ridiculous, the ONLY non heated class occures during 1:30 , when MOST people work during the day, how am I supposed to make it to the only non heated class you offer at such an inconvenient time, and then tell me you have no control over it... you can control the temperature.. I'm tired of dishing out money to be miserable, this is not relaxing and mindful. Its awful
