James Symmonds: Chain stores in an open air mall setting. Seems to be on a slow decline. Absolute shame that they knocked down a classic part of Plaza architecture for someone who has decided to pull out. That's going to be a hard recovery and I suspect that the soul of the plaza is going to continue to get sucked out of the place by developers. Update: sure enough. Plaza lighting really sucked this year.
Les Bro: It is always nice to get to the Plaza. It's a great date night place. I love it in the summertime in the evenings. The fountains are beautiful and romantic.There are lots of restaurants and stores to stroll through during the day. If you are visiting Kansas City, the Plaza is a great place to go. You will see all types of people, especially in the summertime. It is a great place to people watch.Unattended teens have a 9:00 pm, police enforced curfew.

Carter Taylor: It’s a known issue that the restroom accommodations are a huge issue and that the lack of publicly accessible facilities is a major failure of planning, a barrier to those who have disabilities and discriminatory against women. It does not matter if it’s you or your small child, they will not let you use the restrooms in many stores and even restaurants. They’ll send you down the street and you have to hope that the one place that lets others use the bathroom will be open, have no line, and not be out of order like they often are when handling that volume of people. These policies may have been put in place to prevent the unhoused from being in the area, but they majorly impact other groups as well.

Elizabeth Dunn-Hall: Really love to walk and shop when it's nice outside! The variety of stores is pretty good. The upgrades at 54th Street Grill with pickleball and the outdoor play area for the smaller kids are fantastic. During Christmas, it is fun to ice skate with friends and take annual photos around the crowns and huge Christmas tree.
John F: I visited Zona Rosa recently and I was a bit disappointed to see so many empty store fronts. It seems like this place has lost some of its charm and vitality over the years. However, I still enjoyed walking around and browsing the shops that were open. The location is safe and easy to access, with plenty of parking and public transportation options. I also had a great meal at one of the restaurants, which had a nice variety of cuisines and prices to choose from. I really miss The Majestic Theatres and the indoor Grove area, which are both currently looking sad and empty. I hope they can revive them soon and bring back some of the entertainment and culture that Zona Rosa used to offer. Overall, I would give Zona Rosa a 4 out of 5 stars, because it still has potential and it's a nice place to spend an afternoon.
