Urban Mining Homewares Vintage & Antiques for the Home: what do users think?
Mark S: Beautiful. Filled with only good things. No junk here. Pricing is reasonable considering condition. And the overall quality is vastly superior to any of the new, soon to be, landfill that passes as furniture these days.
Karen Rew: One of the coolest places to visit in KC. Fun place. Cool vendors and unique treasures.
Abbey Irwin: Changes every month!Open the first weekend of every month - full of vendors finding a mix of antiques, vintage, and fun stuff for home. Lots of art, both modern and classic and lots of furniture.Staff is helpful and friendly, and they have a standing pickup time for big items the weekend following the sale. There are a couple other vintage furniture shops in the area and a nice restaurant in the building, coffee at the Filling Station nearby - and plenty of parking! (Please pay attention to signage some lots are reserved and the street diagonal parking is rear in parking, not nose in parking!!) Great place to hang out and visit on the weekend. There's even a restroom!
Valerie: What a fun place, some excellent furniture. So much great stuff really enjoyed!
Josh Dampf: Such a perfect place to find a unique vintage piece of furniture, art, or decor!
Mariia Hastello: Неймовірний вибір найрізноманітніших предметів та речей. Дуже красиво все розставлено.
Laurel Shoger-Hall: Absolutely adorable and a total hidden gem! You don’t have to dig which is wonderful as each piece gets to be showcased. Very clean!
Tom Lancaster: Amazing selection of furniture and accessories -- I could have spent all day browsing. Great prices, too.
R L: Best place for that First Friday fix without the nightmare of the West Bottoms. If you have never been, you definitely need to try it, you can't go just once!
Jeff Cole: Look forward to this monthly adventure! So many things to see and a great excuse for me to drive into the city. Prices are fair but the staff is amazing.
Amy Texley: This is the place to find a special decorative object or little something-something. Get on their mailing list for notifications, then make your way downtown on the first Thursday-Sunday of the month. Definitely worth the visit.
Sheryl Lear: Friendly helpful staff. Relaxed atmosphere and great stuff!
Rick Irwin: I've been going to Urban since they opened on Main Street. The new location is really awesome! Many different levels and rooms. The staff is phenomenal and pricing is spot on. To me this is becoming a KC institution! Keep up the great work Urban Mining! If I could I would give it 10 stars!🤩🌈🌏🏳️‍🌈👍💯
Jeremy Palu: Great finds, different inventory every time we go.
Erik Brown: Was very excited about visiting this store during a First Friday in KC as soon as I moved here. The website made it look very classy and full of hidden gems. Upon arriving, the location and external vibe of the place was just as advertised. Unfortunately, that's the end of the good news. The place was full of JUNK. I don't mean the kind of junk that could be someone else's treasure. I was not impressed by the selection at all. The place next door is much better, but it wasn't exactly great either. I felt like I loaded up my family and went downtown for nothing.
Brian Van Biber: I found what I was looking for at a good price.
Renee Henderson: Great finds!
Larry Zucca: Super neat place. Lots of cool and unique items. Only open the first weekend of the month. Check first before the drive. Parking is alittle of an issue but worth the trip.
Adriana Galue: Cool not so hidden gem. Dig deep for special finds.
Nicki Dobbins: Cool collection. Love Maud Essentials booth
Reese B.: Super cute place to wander around in awe at the huge selection of all the best antiques. Everything seems to be carefully curated, in mint condition, & reasonably priced. Everything from furniture, dishes, lamps, statues, etc- unique kick knacks for your home galore.

The man himself Terry Sanchez is one of the kindest, caring person I'll ever know! Terry is an original eclectic person, you're sure to find what you're looking for. Weird Stuff Antiques Kansas City MO!!!!
Justen Grindstaff: Neat place
Denise Morgan-Irish: Owner super friendly and helpful, crazy variety of stuff, definitely an enjoyable excursion into everything from A to Z, and the vibe wayyy more fun imo than the uptight antique vendors in the main West Bottoms area! Will soooo be back here next time in KC!!
Liz Martinson: Stopped in based on the reviews and I couldn’t get out of there quick enough. Felt more like a junkyard and completely disorganized. Who wants to buy items that are ripped, stained or broken? There is a difference between antiques and junk…
Kelly Crooks: It's been quite a few years since I have visited, but this place is spectacular. They possibly have everything you have always wanted!!
Russell Primeaux: Totally weird!
Trenton Singleton: Got some really unique items for really cheap very friendly staff I recommend a stop by if you're in the area!
Dave Barnhart: Pretty rad place, I’ll come here again when In the area
Shane Dang: Best place ever the coolest people you will ever meet in kc.
Rob O'Hara: My wife and I stopped by during a road trip and were not disappointed! From signage to lunchboxes, vintage electronics, and lots of toys, this place has a little bit of everything. I can't think of another store where you can find a vintage skateboard, an old coin-op helicopter ride, a gumball machine, an oversized telephone and a Halloween skull painted with gold sparkles. If you like vintage treasures and enjoy digging, this is your place. PS: Don't look too hard for the golden skull, it came home with me.
Donna Ashe: Lots of stuff, so much fun to meander through. Very nice staff.
Tim Tracy: Phone treasures everywhere I looked brought a few home too if you're looking for something unique you're probably find it there I must see if you're in Kansas City

Populuxe: what do users think?
Cad: It's a shop that specializes in "Mid-Century Modern" which has been sort of trendy for the last 20 years or so (though, that may mean its time is about up). Everything here is in very good condition. This isn't some thrift store selling beat-up old furniture. It's priced accordingly too, "Yes, that's a neat chair, but is it $500 neat?" lolNo restroom for their customers which I find to be a particular annoyance. You know the guy that works here has a restroom he uses. He just won't let his customers use it too. That's cool. Hey, owner, if you see a wet spot on the back wall of your building in the alley, then just ignore it. Also, it cost you a star. They're only open 3 days per week.
Justin Campbell: Amazing selection of truly MCM furniture and goods.
Robyn Dunkleberger: Populuxe KC is an amazing mid century store. I loved how everything was displayed. I could spend hours just looking and wish I could buy it all.
KR Wilson: First time visit. This is a great store that has funky cool retro and MCM furnishings. There are constant turnover of items, so do not hesitate on a purchase, it maybe snapped up by someone else. We will be back soon!
Misty Ward: Super friendly, reasonably priced, and excellent selection!! I’m in love with my lamp! Thanks guys!
Rose: Best Retro Vintage Antique store in KC. Prices are so reasonable and all treasures are in mint condition to boot. Furniture, art pieces, kitchenware, radios, lucite, rugs, magazine racks, coasters, tables & chairs, if your looking for MCM or Retro this is the place to find great treasures. The staff was friendly and helpful, as a lucite magazine rack wasn't priced that I wanted to buy. They contacted the owner and he gave me a very reasonable price, so, of course, I bought it for my collection of lucite magazine racks. Also, found an orange digital 70's radio in mint condition and use it every day it took me years to find. Not very many shops like this with great MCM & Retro inventory. It's my favorite go-to place when in KC to stop & look for treasures, as it always has some treasure I need.
Nicholette Haigler: Best furniture store in KC!
Halle Musfeldt: I absolutely love this store. I bought a dresser from Populuxe and it is stunning. The owners are very knowledgeable and wonderful as well! Will be shopping here again!
Ray Cessna: MidCentury modern vintage store in Kansas City (KCMO) resale furniture, lamps, art, wall sulptures, vinyl albums, and more.
Kendie Fuller: I have yet to experience the shop. I did meet the owners when they came through Iowa, and they are about IT! IT- being beautiful, high end Midcentury home and lifestyle accoutrement,Can't wait to see your shop in person!!
R L: This has been one of my favorite places for years. You won't be disappointed with the selection.
Tyler King (Tyler Dean King): Love coming in to Populuxe to finish off a project or to find a piece to finish off a room. A must if you love MCM. I always seem to find a lock i must have, a mirror I need, and a coffee table thats a must have. (Photo is a chair and light I purchased from here)
Janet Hutson: Interesting Midtown Antique Store. Open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Step into the past!Enjoy the future with your find.
Heidi Benham: Delightful store, filled with charming pieces from decades ago, well appointed and arranged. Reasonably priced with friendly staff.
Kevin Martinez: Incredible Mid-Century Modern furniture and art
Anna Funk: Love this place. Great prices on MCM or just fun to look around.
Eldon Spears: the shop is immaculate and truly mid-century furnishing through out the place. the owners are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of all the products. they are willing to help you with all your questions.
Heidi Hendricks: If you are a mid mod fan of any degree and you don't know Ray and Greg much less Populuxe then you have got a treat in store. There is simply nothing like this store or these two gentlemen anywhere in the U.S.. I know because I came all the way in from Colorado to shop there. My husband and I bought a mid mod house in Denver and found rather quickly that we weren't going to be able to find authentic pieces anywhere nearby. Friends from KC suggested Populuxe and lo and behold we furnished our entire house from there. Ray and Greg helped us every step of the way including packing up an entire moving truck of goods. Everything is curated, in great condition. The work is all done for you. Their knowledge and attention are as rare as the mid mod items they have for sale! Seriously, we furnished the big pieces for our dining room, living room, bedrooms and then added amazing finds for the kitchen from dishes to cookware to martini glasses and pitchers. Their communication back and forth was top notch and made it all possible. Prices are the best in the U.S.. Five stars and many more trips back.
Andrew W: Contacted Gregg about mid-century furniture that's in excellent condition and has been in my family since it was new in the 1950's. He asked for photos, which I sent, as he requested. No response more than a week later, even after I sent a followup message to the same number he provided. He could have at least had the courtesy of "isn't what I'm interested in," but no, nothing. If you buy from this guy and have an issue, you may have a similar experience. I, for one, don't desire that headache.
Lynk Brockner: fun store where I got my cocktail set and the best smelling candle
Danza’s Garden: Beautiful store! The aesthetic is inspiring. Real designer furniture at a fair price. Populuxe has helped bring one of a kind creativity and originality into our home. Truly a gem of KC : )

Lucy Lovier: So fun! Beth and Karla and everyone have great treasures!!
Aleesa Waters: I wish they were open every day of the week. But it's a great experience on First Fridays of every month
Bonnie Baker: I've have shopped at various antique stores here in Kansas City and in surrounding areas. This is the best place for holiday shopping.
Kristy Robinson: What a cool shop!!!
M: Parking is $10 cashGet there at a decent time for the best parkingBe kind to the parking attendantsHad a wonderful time walking around and shopping with my mother. There's something for every one. It's set up beautifully and such a unique space. The only thing it needs is a wine bar or beer garden 😂 We will definitely return again!
Cynthia Wamboldt: First time visiting this gem in kcmo. So many beautiful and original items! My favorite is "My father's daughter " which featured one of a kind vintage clothing. Another favorite were the soy candles made by Lilly! So pretty and unique! A must see if you're in the area!

kctexan: Great place to shop. Wonderful selection and good prices. Staff is helpful and the atmosphere is fun!
Michelle Sanders: We have been several times and each time at Good JuJu it never disappoints! It’s a perfect girls trip. This trip I purchased a chandelier and other goodies. And the nicest guy climbed the ladder and got it down just for me to look it over and helped me fold it the best we could for safe travels back to Arkansas. Then he carried down stairs for me as well. ( I wish I could remember his name. )And that’s where I met the vendor of the chandelier, Nancy. And she went above and beyond to help get a missing part to the chandelier to me. She communicated with me via text just to update me and brought me the piece to pick up the next day. And the owner even gave me some helpful diy tips. Each visit we meet the nicest people and can’t wait for our next trip to Good JuJu! Thank you again Nancy. You were the BEST!

Tamara Hudson: The ORIGINAL. Still bringing chippy crusty vintage farmhouse goodness. Great MCM. And treasure everywhere you look! MUST SEE Store in the West Bottoms. And bring a truck!
Zach Lill: They always have interesting things for sale. It is a good mix of things that are already refurbished and items that need work.
Kris: The have a great selection of antiques and home decor but buyer beware: one of the vendors passed off a reproduction seed advertising sign as original/antique.

River Market Antiques: what do users think?
Jessica Caulkins: Amazing! 4 Floors of antiques, vintage and retro. Staff is friendly and very helpful. They even have lockers for bags at the front which is so handy!
Nick L: Incredibly rude staff, overpriced garbage, tourist trap for rubes. To the shop owners: go ahead and post another snarky reply to this review like you do the rest, show everyone who you are.
nakiea boetger: This place is MASSIVE. Chock full of all the greatest hits from your 70s-90s childhoods at absorbent prices. Grandmas Tupperware, check. TMNT figures, check. Melamine plates, check. Floral mug sets, check! We didn’t make it all the way through, but this place literally has it all. And it’s not all insanely priced. If you know what to expect, it’s not so bad. But, prepare for flashbacks.Staff is friendly and helpful, organization is well done in most booths, and the sheer size is a treat!Put your bags in the locker! There are tight quarters and you’ll knock something over.Watch your step! If you’re walking down memory lane, you’re probably too old for a minor misstep without the consequences of back pain.
Julie Vaughn: Large, nice antique shop. Many, many booths. Well organized.
Kaiulani Prado: very very helpful employees! i found a scarf that i loved and it didn’t have a price, and they happily called the seller and got it for me! i was also greeted very nicely at the door, wonderful customer service here!
Gabriel Gonzalez: I love antique shops and consignment stores and this is one of my favorites. Four floors of all kinds of great finds and treasures. My only complaint is that some of the staff is not the friendliest. Also, I have been bringing my parents to this place for the past 8 years. Since then my elderly father has been through some health and aging issues. He has a heart condition and several old back and leg injuries. He now walks with a cane and has great difficulty with stairs. On our last visit this past Saturday 5/6/2023 my dad was able to make it from the main level to the next level up but had a very hard time. I asked a young man who was working and monitoring the second floor by the freight elevator. I asked if they could take my dad up to the next level in the elevator. He said he could not because it was not allowed. I was disappointed given the situation and my dad’s disability. I wish they would make exceptions to their rules for the elderly and disabled.
Maya Nivarthi: This is the best antique store I’ve ever been to. They have everything you could imagine and the store is really well organized, and has multiple floors. It’s a really interesting place to stop by whether you’re looking for something specific or just want a fun experience.
Rude: Tons of stuff but MASSIVELY OVERPRICED
Dani McPeek: We loved exploring in here! There’s just something magical about an antique store. We didn’t get through all of it but we will be back for more treasures ☺️
Adam Schneider: This store provided a valuable lesson, so I’m almost tempted to add another star on account of that. Overall though, the entire experience was rather creepy - for one thing, the employees were extremely in your face, and also not wearing any name tags or identification (so random people would come up to you and talk to you/follow you). There were cameras everywhere, including a sign that suggested they might even be in the bathroom. Creepy! The lesson, of course, is this: if I want to buy antiques, I’m lucky enough to be able to afford a place that caters to honest clientele like me with the ability to pay for nice things and good service. That is, a place that assumes when you walk in that you’re there to buy and not steal their overpriced junk. Those are the places I should be visiting at this point in my life. Instead, I went to this one, which is organized around setting up a panopticon to stop customers (whom they inherently distrust and seem to dislike) from stealing cheap stuff. Wouldn’t have learned that had I not stopped in!**Update: I'm actually under 40. I just have taste and self-esteem, so regardless of age I won't go to places that sell junk and/or assume I'm primarily there to steal said junk.
Tara West: Love this place!!! They are really awesome. I love that you can make offers on items.. did not know that when I went and that makes this place even better in my eyes. Can’t wait to get back there and see what new treasures I can find.
Brad Horne: Find what you are looking for! This place is huge and many things to search through. My daughter had a great time, and I was able to share stories from my childhood with her from things we stumbled upon inside.
Christina Stanley: So many floors and so many different types of collections and pieces with so many vendors
Ron Wilhelmi: This place is a pretty neat. If you haven't been there you need to check it out especially if you like antiques
Vince Wenger: Friendly experience....
Mckenzie Breedlove: One of the coolest antique stores I’ve ever been to!
Robert Lewis: It's very nice to meet now people.
Amber Clark: Love this place brings back memories when I was younger
Kemp Underwood: A whole day event... and I love it!
David Sonderberg: Just because it's old doesn't mean it's antique. Most of the stuff here is just garbage sold by spivs.
Khadijah Daniels: Loved the amount of soda advertising. Literally amazed to see the amount jam packed in there. Only disappointing factor is most of the items were more than double the price of the going market value. Last I checked River Market Antiques isn’t Mecum auctions.

Sidney McCray, Real Estate agent, Reece Nichols: Great customer service and wide selection of unique and eclectic vintage treasures!
Kim Palmer: Friendly staff. Cool and eclectic antiques. I always find something unique to buy.

Matthew Pick: Cute place! Very friendly owner
Larry Zucca: Small place with alot of neat antiques. Great place with super friendly people. Stop in for a short shopping trip. Lots of neat places close by.
J Williams: 2nd in a string of Collectible/Vintage/Antique/Trinket and Treasure stores this one has a very unique blend of D. All of the Above. I typically know what I look for but got distracted with such a mix of things I do not need - but have to have. (Someone likes Diana Ross 😁)Hours are long weekend types.

Bella Patina: what do users think?
andrea burkholder: The tacos and breakfast burritos are ‘amazing’!!!! Well worth the trip to KC just for this!!!
Mariia Hastello: Тут багато цікавих речей. Часу для перегляду знадобиться багато.
Jeremy Johnson: This is certainly one of our favorite stops in the Kansas City metro. We took our first trip here after the home and garden show. There is so much to explore once you walk inside. Once you think you are done looking around, you will soon realize there is another floor to explore even further. Bella Patina has a little bit of something for everyone.
Staci Meyer: Nothing is better than a First Friday weekend at Bella Patina!!!! The BEST store in the West Bottoms -by far-!
Rebecca Ludin: So many treasures to be found here!
C E Spiess: Absolutely delightful
Ashley richardson: This place is beyond AMAZING! You must go here! Always a great first Friday destination!!
Susana Branum: Bella Patina is the place to go in Kansas City for vintage shopping. The store is only open on first Friday weekends, but that helps make it a special experience. There is a wide variety of vendors - everything from vintage to antique to handmade. The Painted Rooster on the third floor has delicious food! The stairs are manageable for most people, but if needed, there is an elevator. When you purchase furniture or large items, the crew at the loading dock is so helpful!Bonus - they are dog friendly!
Heather Neal: Great experience down here worked with the lady by the name of Joanne and was thrilled with my purchase price right everything amazing!!!
Nathaniel Gempesaw-Pangan: Gorgeous store in the West Bottoms of Kansas City. Lots to look at. Unfortunately, was never greeted by any staff on any of the 3 floors. Felt very unwelcome.
Brenna: I've found some absolutely gorgeous pieces here. You can spend hours roaming the three floors of Bella Patina, and it still wouldn't feel like you've looked at everything. It's an older building, so it gets rather warm in the summer months, and, since it's only open the first weekend of every month, expect it to be busy. I've found the best times to go are on Friday and Sunday, because it's not nearly as crowded as on Saturday. There's tons of great antiquing spots in the area, but imho, Bella Patina takes the cake.
Tabi: We love coming to Bella Patina! One of the coolest and cutest antique and more shopa in the West Bottoms! Multiple floors to explore! Bring the family or a group to explore this place together! You never know what you will find or see! Give yourself plenty of time to walk every floor. This place is well organized and easy to walk through. We always bring our friends to this shop they all love it as well. Great place to go to find awesome decor for your house or lake house. They do have a little bit of everything. They have antiques, books, globes, lights, signs and so much more! Make this one of your stops on First Friday or anytime they are open!
William Katlin: Good food good people great little place gotta try the chicken sandwich 🥪 😋
Laura Steenbock: Such a great store and selection. Fun place to shop.
Rasheed Cooper bey: Nice environment
Kevin Glannon: It's an eclectic collection of antiques, recovered items and art but not really any different than 100 similar places.
Bryan Hostetler: 3 floors of antiques as far as the eye can see. And some funny barbie placements.
Danielle Martinelli: Great variety and reasonable prices. Friendly and helpful staff.
Nicki Muhawi: So much to look at! And well laid out with a great flow.
Teresa Stidham: I fell outside of this store because a chunk of cement is missing from the step. I ended up with a badly injured ankle and shin..A nurse from inside kindly helped me butwhen I emailed the store about the situation I heard nothing in reply. Bad form Bella Patina.. You ruined my long awaited vacation.
Yukimi Barker: Vintage, upscale, one of a kind shopping and a wonderful café to feast in too.
