Dale Carnegie Training of Kansas City: what do users think?
Johanna Zatar: Our company partnered with Dale Carnegie to invest in the growth of our team's leadership development through the training program. We just completed the 8-week training course. WOW... I highly recommend this course. It is unlike any training we have done before. We already see successful growth happening within our team.
Gordon Haave: I took the two day High Impact Presentations course, and it was the best training I have ever done Not only was the content great, but the learning experience was magical.
Emory Kempf: This course is awesome!
Elizabeth Duke: I've taken two classes from Dale Carnegie Training of KC. I learned a lot from both classes about working with people and leading people. I practice the skills I learned every day and feel like it will be a life-long practice as I come closer to mastering them.

Centriq Training: what do users think?
Via Gedern: Centriq is a great facility and Tim is extremely professional and helpful.
G Jay: I have high praise for the staff at the KC campus. I am a former student who needed some paperwork from my time there, and while this was a pretty routine request, I was still really impressed with the quickness and courtesy of reception and accounting.I am very glad I went to Centriq. I am definitely not the smartest person and had to work harder than most others, but having this training on my resume has helped me get a job for 30k a year more than I was making at the job I left to go to Centriq. And even though I don't technically have an IT job, I still find that I use what I learned quite a bit at work.If I can make it, anyone can. If you're needing an income boost and some new skills you should get in touch with this school.
alex staufenbiel: Nice campus I look forward to going to class there
Stephen Wakefield: Curriculum: 4/5Teachers: 5/5Price: 2/5Resume/Interview assistance: 5/5Job Success Rate: 3/5I went through the full stack development program in Oct 2017. C# is Centriq's language of choice and there is a reason for that. It is an extremely popular coding language in the midwest. The instructors are all fantastic and the curriculum is extensive for a 4 month program: c#, sql, javascript, etc... Take advantage of their HR depts resume building and mock interviews. It is fair to say it is overpriced, but for me it was worth it. For my class the success rate of getting a job right away (after 2 months) was about 60 percent. I was fortunate to get a job before I graduated but I had self studied in Javascript and PHP for three years (highly recommend Lynda.com essential training courses to see if you like programming first before paying a lot of money for training you don't want). You get what you put into this program in my case. I am giving this review because I want to not because I was asked to do this. Sadly you DO need some kind of credible education to land that first programming job unless you are extremely fortunate or network well.
Kyle Ronen: The building was extremely well kept and welcoming inside. The outside was fine but it made no lasting impression on me. There was a new Jaguar I-Pace in the parking lot so that was really cool to see. Tim was the staff member who checked me in and was extremely kind and even indulged in some casual conversation that made me feel welcomed. The entire process was handled effectively and professionally. I had issues with the tests wording, spelling (very few instances), and sentence structure causing me to be unsure of what the full and accurate question was. But I passed my test and had an overall great experience locating and using this facility!
Alex Caskey: I took a certification test there. They were very courteous and professional.
Marnie Boyd: Critical:Communication,Quality,Value
Ryan: Nice building and staff but the screens in the testing room are old and hard to read from. As I continue testing for certifications, I'll have to look for another venue.
Lulu's Big Adventure: Polite staff. Accommodated an early arrival. Good Covid practices. And woohoo, I passed.
Troy: I took a test here and not training. The testing administration was quick, professional, and C19 level clean.
Daniel Boyd: Let me start by saying that I'm a senior software engineer with over a decade in the industry. I work largely on enterprise cloud applications as a full stack engineer and architect.Having witness and assisted an individual going through their curriculum I strongly advise against attending Centriq. It's a horrific waste of time and money and I actively advise against hiring Centriq grads at my current employer due to what I experienced. What little they actually "teach" you is either incorrect, immensely dated, or bad practice. Most, if not all, of their instructors seem to be failed software engineers that graduated from Centriq, got 1-2 years of experience (at most as some had none) and came back to teach as they couldn't actually do their jobs. You'll end up having to relearn almost everything they cover. As such you are better off pursuing self paced learning from online courses. You'll learn more relevant and up-to-date coding practices and topics without being mislead. You'll save yourself a lot of money as well. They have little concern if you actually understand what they teach you. They don't care if you are struggling. They don't care if you find a job. They just want your money. Their main concern is to convince you to stay in the program long enough to get your money. I can only assume they are lying about how many graduates find jobs. Last my acquaintance checked, no one from her class had managed to find a job. Most had given up and returned to previous work.Take it from an experienced professional in the field. Don't go to Centriq. If I see a resume from a Centriq grad, I'm tossing it. Save your money and don't reward these con artist.
Kathy Owens-Walker: I have to select at least one star to post a review, otherwise I would have given them zero stars. This place is definitely not the place to go for people without any prior IT experience. My son was 19 years old when he went through their program Fall/Winter 2018/2019...6 students in his group and only one person found a job...which he had years if prior experience, but needed up to date knowedglede. His job didn't even work out though. I wish I would have given this review a long time ago. My son wishes he'd never had went there...because he's $24,000 in debt now & is going to JCCC to get more in-depth training on the things Centriq touced on for a week then moved onto the next subject. I like to know the REAL number for more people without any prior IT experience job placement. I'm reporting them to the BBB.
Dustin Allen: Nice new facility, friendly staff, will wait to 5 star until I pass the test :)
Christopher Christensen: Came for PMP prep training. Bill Lewis has a wealth of experience and does a great job with what is needed to prepare for the exam.
cam metcalf: I was trained here, there is some very valuable information to be had... And some very wonderful people to meet.
Douglas Hoff: As an instructor at Centriq, I can't be completely objective. But after teaching in a large junior college in California, a local college here, Oracle University locations, and many small classrooms, I can honestly say Centriq has the best administration and staff that I've ever seen.Centriq grew from a small operation 25 years ago to where we've had the need to take over an entire building to house its career training program and corporate classes. I've taught both types and respect how they've put the student's desire to be trained for an IT job first and not just to acquire certificates. There's a reason why they've lasted when their competitors have not.Instructors will go where they feel like they are both learning and making a difference in students' lives. Sometimes that means they have to leave teaching to learn from the real world. More teachers have stayed at Centriq than I've ever seen except in an academic tenure situation. We teach classes of one or two when useful but always love a large class like those of the 16 week Microsoft web developer or network admin tracks. I can see those students making a difference in Kansas City, and now St. Louis, regions. One of my favorite students was making six figures in four years after his graduation.I regularly speak with the account representatives and find that they encourage a relationship with their clients and not just try to sell my classes. I love getting on the phone with them so people understand what's in my classes. They don't really have to do much to gain clients' trust since we have a good reputation in KC.So, I would be a student without hesitation if I wasn't teaching all the time. My time away from the classroom is spent studying and developing new classes. I really can't think how we could do much better and if you have any feedback, I'm sure you can find me online or just come visit us.
Quintin Dublin: Great IT classes
Jason Allee: First off, the first person you meet at Centriq (Russ) is a manipulative liar. I went there to learn coding, all my placement tests confirmed that I'd be perfect for coding, since my brain seems to be able to easily find mistakes and inconsistencies in patterns. For whatever reason Russ went out of his way to talk me out of coding and into the IT Admin side of things. Sure, my fault for going along with it.Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Centriq, and made some friends along the way. The problem didn't become apparent until I graduated and began to look for a job. I slowly started to realize that all the advertising of "you will be paid more" was aimed at high school kids and factory workers who would be thrilled to get a $35k a year job. I set my sights on $45k (a $10k pay drop for me) and was laughed at by the career services person. Still I applied and applied for hundreds of jobs. After 8 months of being turned down over and over again I gave up. So thanks Centriq for making me waste $22,000 and 4 month of my life to be turned down from lower paying jobs.IT Admin jobs will not hire you if you have visible tattoos and piercings, no matter how well you learn and understand the material. Should've just stuck with coding. Now I have to teach myself since I used the last of my GI Bill to learn skills that people with tattoos can't do apparently.
Christian Goben: I don't know what to say other than that centriq changed my life. I went from being a data entry clerk to an employed full-stack developer in less than 4 months. If you're dedicated and love to learn this place can do wonders for you.
Bud Oyler: People really care about your education!
Matt Lang: Great learning environment

Metropolitan Community College: what do users think?
S. Frida: Learn so much there. Love this school
Bridgett “B” Moore: It has been a good experience with mcckc but I just get very frustrated when I can never get into my accounts and it makes me late on my work like last semester. I was at a 3.6 gpa and because of communication issues I'm down to a 3.0 bc 2 classes got failed 😢
Terance Williams: Caring Giving & supporting the arts has always been a passion of mine. So I decided to take it to another level. Creating this scholarship is more than words... #PoetsEdu
John John: The students of the radiology program were completely let down by the staff and instructors of their program. These students who've invested thousands of dollars and thousand of hours of arduous study only to be made indifferent by the MCC radiology personnel. Things have turned into such a bad state, the entire student body have been contemplating hiring attorneys to address their situation. Until they take corrective measures and do right by their students I would advise anyone thinking of enrolling in their radiology program to think carefully before doing so.
Olivia: The high school program is horrible! They pick and choose which students they want to be successful and drive the students they don't like out the door. Worst mistake I've made for my son was going to the school. None of my kids will enter this building again! I have 1 star because I had to, it really deserves negative stars.
Adam C Johnson: I had an excellent experience, in particular at the Longview branch of MCC. I took 10 classes and obtained my associates degree there. The professors were impressively credentialed and overall great teachers. I liked that there were a number of other non-traditional students as well. Definitely recommended especially if you're returning after a hiatus like myself.
Matthew Wiseman: Had one of the worst interview experiences of my life here. These people are extremely disorganized for starters. They told me they would send me questions prior to the interview so I could prepare, and then send them only 3 minutes prior. I didn't even have time to look over them prior to logging into Zoom! The lady leading the interview team insulted me by insinuated that I was uncultured because I only know one language. After that, I withdrew my name from consideration. You'd do well to avoid this place, and I wish I would have read the other reviews before applying. My mistake. Don't do what I did and waste your time here!
Kyle Larsen: It is impossible to get a hold of anyone willing to help you I've called and left messages for the past month and have not received a call back or any update. If you're a veteran using your GI Bill good luck the college implies its vet friendly but don't seem very willing to work with you.
c. c.: This is my very first negative review that I have ever done. I would rate it a zero if I could. The schools book store gets me angry. I spent 5+ hours to get a book that they or I misplaced only to be told coldly to rebuy it. I than rebuyed it after debating to just drop this class(my school was going to charge me 427 dollars to drop the class due to scams that have happened(my acedimic advisor talked me into taking this class even though I said I did not want to. He did it by saying I could drop it in the first week) ). I than was told that digital books in the bookstore are down for 48 hours.
Brittney Cummings: Pay attention to what you are enrolling in. They will drop classes and not allow you to complete the degree that you have paid for. I was down to 3 classes that i needed for a degree that i was enrolled in and they dropped the degree all together. I spent a year reaching out to every educator, director, and dean i could manage only to be given false promises over and over. 7k down the drain for no reason. The worst part was is the only reason i enrolled in the degree was because i wanted the 3 classes that they dropped but was told i had to take 4 classes as prerequisites. I took the classes spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours over 2 semesters to be screwed over.
Darin Griffin Jr: I enrolled for one semester and I absolutely hated it. They will do anything to get your money out of your pockets. The bookstore is a complete scam and teachers will have you purchase books you will never touch. There are some decent professors but most of them are crooks too. They talk and teach like a robot and expect you to do your overwhelming assginments. It's a big headache to figure any problem out that you might have and need help with.
Kelly Woods: The bookstore is a scam.
katie parrish: Cold classrooms
hector robles: Muy buen lugar y servicio
Urena F: I wouldn’t not recommend this college to my worthiest enemy. Clueless Advisor want you to take unnecessary classes, top of that I received two F from this school. However, when I m transfer into different college I get A and B . The quality of those “ professors “ is highly questionable knowing how to teach human students, instead they thinking they teaching a robot.
Lindsey Blake: Professionalism does not take place at this school. I had my enrollment messed up more than once and had extreme issues with a couple teachers not ever responding nor grading.
Anthony VanDusen (OMGITSPANCAKES): They taught me soccer, and not basketball. Unacceptable
jacqueline gay: So the finance department or the business office downtown somewhere is the worst they will not speak to me they took my money and I am getting ready to go and post this on every social media that I can today when I get off work. And I'm going to go live
Stovetop Zombie: For your kid's sake, do not send them to this school. I get the appeal of a cheaper community to achieve an associates degree and a bridge to a 4 year institution, but this is not the school for that. Their staff will make graduation and transfer as difficult as possible. If you feel you have to go there, record everything they say. I would say, get everything in email, but you can send dozens of emails to their advisers and they will not respond. At my time there I had an adviser refuse to change my degree, then give me the incorrect courses for that degree, had an adviser tell me to drop several courses because I didn't need it for then degree, then not let me re-enroll in those courses when it turned out I did, was told a Chemistry course transferred to complete my degree both before and after the transfer, then after a misleading email stating "Congratulations you met the requirements to walk at graduation!" and several phone calls telling me my degree was in the mail, was told it didn't transfer and I couldn't graduate. These are only a few issues that occurred with me, and I had several friends and family members experience the same sort of problem.I don't want the same treatment I went through to occur to future students. Please take your education to a place that cares instead.
Cassandra: This college is runs by groups of Moran and crocks thefts. Favoritisms in student is a undercover issue( not to mean for the really hard working student) students whom only show up twice at the entire maths semester course will passes and get an A ) what you looks and how deep is your pockets that’s how they decide who is get an A. Professor will make you punches the $167 dollars of textbooks, without use it though the whole semester. homework are now online everything else are online. Academic Adviser are jokes, asking them the transfer questions she rolls her eyes on you. Better to advise myself. My recommendation is to anyone who like to play dirty (money) and don’t really want to learned, please enroll to this college.
Reneé Rooks: They're always willing to help you get things in order so you can be enrolled and attend

Shoal Creek Golf Course: what do users think?
Randy Eilers: Course in good shape, smooth greens. Managable roughs. Very friendly staff. Everything was overpriced.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait …More
Brett Sanford: Great course in the North Metro Area. The course is very well kept and the design can be difficult yet rewarding at times. There's a good chance you hit ever club in the bag playing here. Staff is friendly to boot. Recommend this course for all avid golfers in the area.
Jeremiah Johnson: It's a decent course, for public.Nothing special, but top five in KC.I've not had great experiences here, personally. Have come in for group events. Just not elite experiences.Punched greens without notice. Extra sand on greens another time. Just not on their game.
T Ferg: I liked it. I thought it was a good course.
Christopher Mell (CUDA): Very playable, but challenging track. Nice layout. Very well kept for time of year.
Augster O: Great course. Lots of houses but a few holes with no houses on them. Unique holes that are a lot of fun to play. I’ll certainly play here again when I’m in KC again.
Almir Lilic: Awesome golf course
jason ruhnke: Love this course.
David Thomas: It was alright, greens were slow, fairways need cutting.
Jon werner: Very nice course but if its cartpath only plan for a very very long day!!!!!
Morrie Gilchrist: Very nice golf course with a really nice driving range, putting green and area for chipping/short game. I have played there 2 or 3 times this year and it's a 5 hour round everytime. By far the slowest place to play and the Marshall's don't help out with slow play, like the course but do not enjoy playing there.
Kevin Swinicki: Planned a 36-hole golf weekend with my sons and selected this course for proximity and ease of travel for all of us. What a mistake. I did read the reviews beforehand and noticed several mentioning the course Marshalls and slow play. We all play fairly fast, so no problem. First time playing this course and we were the first group off with a 8:30 tee-time. A 30 minute delay due to frost on the course. We were able to tee-off just after 9am (had to wait on a starter) and away we go.On the fairway OF THE SECOND HOLE a Marshall stopped both carts to tell us we were already behind and needed to speed it up. We all looked behind us and no other golfers in site! We assumed he was under pressure to keep things moving due to the delay but extremely rude. We were all a little taken-aback at what just happened. Two holes later he drive up and sits on the cart path watching everyone hit. Again, we look back - nobody in site!Finish the first 18 with at least a full hole between us and the group behind us. Check-in for our 1:30 tee-time expecting at least a 30-minute delay. The gentleman behind the counter asks for the name and then proceeds to lambast us for slow play and needing to pick up the pace..."You're killing us" were the exact words with several folks around the counter. Low-class response. Embarrassing and rude. We were so mad at this point and discussed cutting the day short. We all traveled over 3.5 hours to get here so played on and finished the round. Never saw a Marshall on the back nine of the final round and waited on several holes to tee-off. Maybe they only work the first hour of the day...Before making accusations they should get their facts straight. Our scheduled second tee-time of 1:30 was only delayed to 1:45 so through the morning, at least 15-20 minutes were made up.Through the threads Shoal Creek seems to respond. So many encounters like this in past reviews with responses to review procedures and meet with staff. Has that meeting not taken place yet...?
K swinicki: A group of four of us chose this course as a middle point for a weekend golf trip. We had both an 8:30 tee time and 1:30 tee time. We arrived 45 minutes early, hit some range balls and were told that we would have to wait until 9:00 for the frost to clear, totally understandable. We roll up to the first tee at 8:58, there’s no starter. We call the clubhouse and they tell us they’ll send someone out. At 9:10 the starter arrives, explains the cart rules for the day and we’re off. By the second hole, a Marshall stops us, points to our cart screen and passive aggressively tells us we’re 10 minutes behind pace - on the second hole!! Nobody was in front of us and we were not a slow group by any means. That visit set the tone for the rest of the day. As the first group off, we finished our first 18 fairly quickly and saw the the group behind us maybe twice (they never waited on us, we asked them). We blow it off and check in with the clubhouse for the second round and as we’re ready to pay another 75 a pice the guy at the front desk tells us “you guys are killing us out there”. We all were taken aback. There are several things wrong here. You set unrealistic expectations for pace of play, period. This is prevalent in so many other reviews as well. The level of disrespect and unprofessionalism is astounding. Train your staff, figure out how to logistically run a golf course and don’t be an a**hole. Nobody in our group will ever be going back and I would never suggest this place to anyone. Steer clear.
Jin Dorso: Although the course is well maintained, the staff overbooks and and the Marshall’s don’t enforce pace. Dont expect to finish 18 in under 5 hours or finish if you tee off past 4.
John Rieger: Great course, would recommend to anyone
Justin Dunham: I live near this course and enjoy periodic visits to the range to hit from grass. Mats are painful. There are NO excuses for why the mats are used on a summer day when it hasn't rained in a week. None.Edit (9/26/22): went back yesterday on a beautiful Sunday after a beautiful and warm Saturday the day before. Using the mats again. Lowering to 1 star. Can't believe this place continues to waste perfectly good grass. If nothing else, if they need to do maintenance, it's wide enough to shut down half of it to maintain, then switch it up after a week and use the other half. Instead they make B.S. excuses for using the mats.
Perry Friedman: Great course. Nice layout.
Matt Grizzell: Great conditions for September, challenging course, will be back.
Michael Knox: This is The Tee Time Trucker......and I thought that this Course was an amazing experience and opportunity to play on a Top notch Course. I loved the Greens, Fairways and Service!!!!!
Marie Spencer: This is a great place to spend time with your family.
Austin Heiman: Good course but slightly overpriced. $70 on a Sunday is asking a little too much for this course. Also we played as a foursome on a Sunday morning in 4h flat and the the marshal was pestering us about pace of play the whole time.
