Bowie: I am literally blown away by my experience at the Holiday Inn. Stayed here on a Friday night after driving all day. Location is perfect, a very short walk to the Power and Light district that had a live, free concert going on until late at night. Fresh baked cookies at the front desk as usual... the building itself is very old/neat but you can't tell when you walk inside, especially in the rooms, which are fantastic and huge ! Very modern, great city view, very comfy beds. Then the breakfast... literally the best hotel breakfast I have EVER had. And the best part of the entire stay was the hospitality from the staff. The lady working in the breakfast area welcomed us with "love and kindness" and even sang us a funny song she made about the Holiday Inn. What a great way to start the morning, I really hope Holiday inn provides for this lady because wow, what an amazing employee and person all around. Thank you!!!!

Alejandro Fernandez: I had the opportunity to stay at this location during a road trip, and I was truly impressed by the staff’s attentiveness. I exclusively used Holiday Inn hotels on this trip, and this particular location stood out for its exceptional service. The staff were superlatively great - polite, courteous, and proactive in communicating with me to check on my needs before, during, and after my stay. As usual, the breakfast was outstanding. The team made me feel as though I was staying in a 5-star hotel!

Louis House: Julie and the sandy blonde male manager really helped us out. Both kept our room clean and towels flowing. Also the water pressure at this location is amazing. The rooms are great. Lost power for a night, which is why I gave it four stars. Turns out the outlet power strip tripped and had to be turned back on from too many devices hooked up. All and all will definitely stay here again.PS literally 10 to 15 minutes away from everything in KC
Joni Jordan: MICHELLE and ALISSA (front desk) need to find a career that does not deal with the public. These two are the most classless, unprofessional individuals, and definitely have left a negative impression on your brand. We will never stay at another Holiday Inn because of these two tyrants! The absolute worst guest service we have ever encountered. Do yourself a favor and book your stay elsewhere!The entire experience was awful! Nothing good to say. John L: Should have read the detailed reviews. Thermostats are locked at 74 and the fan won't stay on to circulate the air. If you like to hear the equivalent of a window unit kicking on and off all night while staying toasty warm, you'll love this place. The pillows were flat and chunky. The 'fitness center' is laughable. It consists of some mixed up weights. Good luck finding two that match and some cardio machines that are functioning. Too bad. They have tons of space for equipment but choose not to use it. I'm Titanium and there was no mention of it checking in. No welcome gift. Nothing. The proximity to the interstate made my room quite loud, and the fan couldn't mask it because it just clicked off and on. Parking is a ripoff at $32. The best part of the hotel is the location. There are several tasty restaurants around. Based on the Marriott reviews, I expected a lot more. I sure hope the hotel responds with a generic 'thank you for your feedback'. That always makes a night without good sleep better. 😁

I love the fact that it's only a block north of the street car and 2 blocks from power and light. Plus there are some amazing city views from our window!Rooms: The room was super clean and we had no issues at all.Nearby activities: We were one block north of the street car off of main street and 2 blocks from power and light. There is so much to do around the Hotel.Safety: The hotel is in a very safe area and even had safety measure in place for guests to get into their rooms. Locks can be found inside the door of the hotel room. It was a door lock, and a bar lock. There is even a cover for the peep hole.Walkability: Power and light is within walking distance. 5 minutes max. You're looking at 2 minutes to get to the street car. Restaurants around the hotel as well.Noteworthy details: This is the second time that I stayed in this hotel and everything was on point. I love the view, I love the location and I love how there is easy access to everything.
Jonathan Wilks: Location was great, walking distance to T-Mobile Center and Lula’s. A/C units are on motion sensors according to the front desk, room was 74F and warmer than the hallway despite it being under 40F outside. Bed was average comfort, no topper. There was also a sticky substance, looked like honey, on the bedroom walls. I’ll be sticking with Hilton Hotels for future overnight stays.

Jim Merz: Your going to spend a lot for a rundown Hotel. Had two rooms BOTH drains did not drain. The pictures are from the second room, not the first room. Front desk staff was horrible when checking in and out. When we checked out both front desk staff on their phones, never looked up. The first valet guy was awesome and the maintenance guy was nice and got us another room. The cost to what you get was to great… stay at another hotel many other options in the power and lights area.

Jeremy Chapman: We loved our stay at this historic hotel. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. The room was beautiful, though a little small. We got to stop by the Diamond Lounge for a snack and drinks, and had a nice breakfast in the restaurant the next morning.The location was in easy walking distance of the Kauffman Center, where we were in town to see a concert. Very happy with our stay here. We parked in the garage on the same block for $18 per day.
Jessica Montaño: This is a great hotel. The building is old, so some features show their age. However, rooms are updated and are beautiful.Cons: The walls have cracks and repaints. The elevator floors are kinda gross.Pros: antique features. Crown molding. Letter delivery down the elevator shaft to the lobby. Just an antique atmosphere.The shower in our room flooded the floor because the curtain doesn’t reach all the way down and water sprayed out. The shower faucet was disgustingly covered with water scum/mildew. Sink faucet and handles were loose.There’s a giant mirror across the toilet (weird lol)Every employee we interacted with was amazing.Valet service is $34/day.We booked a 1 king room and got a 2 queen. Kinda annoying but we didn’t feel like addressing it at midnight. So unsure of their resolution.Our door didn’t read our cards in the first room, and they immediately fixed the issue and didn’t make us change rooms.Rooms start on the 5th floor - goes up to 20 floors. My only complaint is that we couldn’t find anywhere in the hotel or within walking distance to buy water/other nonalcoholic drinks or snacks. Our room style also didn’t have a fridge (not sure if any of them do) so we couldn’t save leftovers from the restaurants we went to. Vending machines or a little shop would be a nice addition!

E A: Ok, so I want to say it's complicated. We stayed during covid so I know things are a bit weird right now. That being said. 4 stars is a liiiitle misleading. It's older, hence the boutique title... I love old hotels.. This isn't a problem but if you want A NEW AND MODERN this isn't for you. I love the old throw backs to the speak easy era so this hotels decor was so pretty. There were some drinks laying around the hotel lobby... Otherwise it seemed picked up. People mention the dust... Again it's not that someone didn't clean its gotta be the building and as soon as you dust it is there again.. I didn't feel it to be dirty. The bed was nice and comfy. Our sweet was spacious and clean. The bathroom tile was a bit soap scummy and needed a good round of bleach but again I didn't feel it was yucky. If you paid full full price you might want a microwave, fridge, and modern AC that keeps it just the exact temperature you want. It never was hot but we had to turn it down to 65 to get it to stay at 68-70 the whole time and it felt more 72ish. That was fine but I do wonder if it would have been really sunny or hotter than 88-90 it would have been warmer than I wanted in the room. Staff was nice but not over accomidating. The upgraded our room when they found out my hubby was a fire fighter... So so nice... But later I asked for a fan and they kinda acted overwhelmed and said "if I have one I'll get it to you"... Never got it or heard back lol. There's just certain things you expect at a 4 star... I'm not saying we didn't enjoy ourselves we certainly did.. I just think more particular people would be disappointed. If you are easy going and just happy to have a clean room like us you'll love it. If you want to top the line 4 star accommodation.. Maybe get a newer hotel.

Jimmy Shelton: Overall, it was a great experience, rooms are clean beds comfortable. The only thing that was disappointing was the restaurant. the wait staff at the bar were not very attentive. We had to go out of our way to get their attention, overall not great at the bar and restaurant, lobby staff while checking in were great. The coffee bar in the morning is cool but not complementar, we ate breakfast elsewhere.
Rachel Jackson: Pros:- nice lobby area and outdoor seating area- very polite and friendly staff who were attentive to our needs- location is convenient if you plan to go the country club plazaCons:- the lampshade on the main lamp in our room was obviously broken and kept falling off the stand- the entire place feels dirty; the hallway and room carpets were visibly dirty and stained- the fitness center has very limited equipment and was missing many of the items featured in the photos- there were no USB ports for charging items; the iHome provided was very outdated and broken- some of the outlets in our room would not hold the electric plug and were not functional- the rainfall shower was barely dripping and had horrible water pressure- we tried to use the rooftop pool but it was very crowded; the pool area is very small and they allow non-hotel guests to use it so there is limited room for hotel guests- I was supposed to receive my receipt via email but it never arrivedThe entire place needs to be updated to current technology and functioning. It feels like a hotel with amenities from 2010. The staff were the only saving grace.

Shannon lesco: This place has really went down hill in the last few years... Rooms are dirty, staff is rude... We reserved a king size room got told there isn't any have a so called double bed room that looks like twins... Windows so tall you can't look outside....lady at desk said no kings available remind you we booked this in March... But if I get on the website there is kings available.... I'm literally in this hotel right now... The linens are yellowish stained... Extremely disappointed will not ever be back.. not to mention how loud it is on the 2nd floor.... Last time we stayed here a few months ago... We were awaken at 7am because they were re keying the rooms on our floor... Went to breakfast to come back with them re keying our room... Smelled so bad from the grinding... Not to mention our door wide open with our belongings in it....

Leftovers from the previous guest had not been removed (although I took and displayed a picture), whereas stained bed cloth had been. Terribly sticky floor in the breakfast room (buffet area) with two bored gentlemen half busy with serving coffee (instead of making coffee distributor available).Nice bar, very efficient bar tender. One of the reception guys clearly hates his job (and guests) yet let us leave it as his problem. Comfortable rooms, noble type of interior design.

Benjamin S: This is my first stay ever at a Hilton hotel, and was booked for a week for business. This hotel reminded me a lot of the Omni William Penn in Pittsburgh, but not quite as ritzy. Same basic theme, feel and great service from everyone on the staff. On the plus side, the room was clean beyond my expectations, the hotel was also well kept. Room was out of date, however. No fridge, Netflix and the bathroom could use a more modern touch. Bed was alright, pillows felt like they were very old. Coffee shop was adequate, breakfast and the fitness room left a lot to be desired. That’s why 4 star review instead of 5.The front desk brought me up a fridge for free upon my request, and did everything possible to make my stay pleasant. Location was unbeatable. I may actually try Hilton again sometime because of this hotel. Based on this experience, their standards are certainly higher than most every Marriott I’ve been to, certainly the two downtown in KC.Rooms: Very clean, slightly outdatedNoteworthy details: Fitness room is very underwhelming. Chris Sterni: An old ice building converted to a hotel. The lobby and rooms were small. Came here on a recommendation from a family member who said the building was cool. The staff is not very friendly and helpful. Will not answer the phone from the guest room. Was here for 5 nights no room service ever. Had to call from my personal phone to get someone to answer about getting extra towels. Only to have the employee act like we were putting them out. Towels never came until the next day. Many other options in the power and light district of downtown Kansas city to choose from them this place.

Julie Sleister: Great place. Stayed there a few times. Comfy beds, clean, and great staff. Water pressure isn't great. The only thing I would warn about is that you best be OK hearing whatever is going on in your bathroom when someone else is in there.Back again. Quiet bathroom this time. Hotel Indigo has become our "go to" when heading downtown.
Fallon Brooks: Hotel Indigo’s lobby is beautiful. The parking garage next door was super affordable with an $18/day max and very convenient to the hotel. The elevators are fast and we never had to wait for one. Our room and bathroom were nicely decorated and clean. M Linzie: We don’t typically stay in IHG hotels but we decided to try this one out. The hotel itself is in a good location in Downtown Kansas City and the walkability to the various restaurants and activities was a plus. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The smell and quality of the bath products offered was nice. The on-site restaurant was good as we had breakfast there. The front desk staff at check in and during the stay was great, however, the same can’t be said about the front desk staff at check out - which sort of put a damper on our overall stay (never saw the same staff twice).

Aviane W: I'm a fan of IHG Hotels. Location was great however, someone texts me about my arrival she even texts to follow up. I advised I wanted housekeeping daily. And a quiet room. I did get the quiet room but on the first night no housekeeping after I called and advised I was out my room. As I arrived the next day after a long day-my room keys didn't work. I called for valet when I came down he didn't even get the call. Overall, I think I was just hoping for everything to run smooth. Things happen but service was just very relaxed for me. Great location though. Nice people
Kiri Zeuto (Mawri): This place is amazing! It's very pretty. Clean, well-managed. They allowed me and family to bring our dog too, which was quite surprising. A little gripe being so near to Main and Truman, resulting in some dense traffic, but otherwise, this is great! I definitely would like to stay here again.Food & drinks: Integrated restaurant. Best if you get the vouchers with the stay though. Out of pocket for them can hurt.
Kirstjen Lorenz: The staff at this hotel is very friendly and helpful. I stayed in room 506, and it was huge with a very comfortable bed, a nice size bathroom with a walk-in shower and a good size desk and a very nice chaise.The location is very good. 1-2 blocks from the Power & Light District and the free street car that will take you to the WW1 Museum and Union Station.
Isabel Reutzel: Great stay with beautiful rooms and lovely staff. During our stay wifi was down in the whole area which would be our only negative but out of the hotels hands. The staff was helpful in every way possible even though their system was down too making their jobs harder. Walking distance to anything you could want! Parking can be a little expensive in garages but lots of free street parking certain hours. Attached to a restaurant/bar which is also of convenience. Overall loved our stay and would go back! ( there’s 2 hotel indigos in KC near each other and the other is a little sketchy and not close to much so be sure to double check was told it was a common mistake as we went to the wrong one first)
Miss Wilk: I stay here regularly as I drove from the west coast to the east coast often. My favorite thing about this location is how nice the front desk is when I bring my cat in it’s little backpack. They consistently upgrade me and provide top notch service and amenities. I know I write a lot of reviews for Hotel Indigo locations, but it’s because I don’t want to stay anywhere else. I will go out of my way if necessary to ensure I’m close to this hotel brand. Why pay 10x the price somewhere else for lesser service?
Melissa Mattner: Overall, my stay was great! I had issues with the mini fridge not working when I first checked in (I had stopped at the store for items that needed to be refrigerated). They helped me switch rooms without an issue. The rooms were great, quiet, and large!My only "complaint" - I booked this room under an AOTA conference rate. roxkitspride: God forbid you have a question at 11:30 at night and you get the snarky receptionist who's day has just been soo hard that your call to the front desk just seems like an annoyance to him. I just had a quick question about my wifi not working and if there was anyway I could upgrade it which he flatly replied to no. In which then he makes a remark about how he can't check it because I didn't call on the hotel phone, instead of just asking what my room number is like any normal nice person would do. Informed him I TRIED but the room phone was not working. Was a fine evening but this left a bitter taste in my mouth for sure. And of course no call back or update about the wifi though he said he would call and check with someone else.

Lindsay “Sweet Clucker” T: Our room was beautiful one of the nicest at that price point in a long time. The beds were comfortable. The shower was amazing! Really quiet with warehouse high ceilings. Loved everything about the room. My only concerns were no area for dogs to relieve themselves, no nearby or in house coffee drinks, and it was difficult to get luggage in. Would definitely stay here again hopefully by then they invest in anEspresso machine.Rooms: Gorgeous spacious room! Ours was so quiet being on the ground level on the end.Food & drinks: There is nowhere to get a coffee drink within 2 blocks. The restaurant does not have lattes.Noteworthy details: Dog friendly but no where for dogs to go outside to relieve themselves. Any grass was 2 blocks away.
Davon Murrietta: Room cleaners stole my wallet from room when we left to eat & happened to go on lunch right got after. When I was looking & asking cleaners for it no one happened to speak english all of a sudden but knew exactly who I was & where I was staying (when I never seen cleaners on the floor) & what was going on. Then I was kicked out by the chubby red haired front desk lady for saying I was acusing them when no one had been in the room except them. The other front desk lady was awesome, understanding & really helpful. Dont stay here unless you like to be lied too & your hard earned money robbed.
Bethany Mullinix: I initially went to the hotel indigo downtown rather than crossroads. At that location I was greeted by valet immediately, easy walk into the lobby and waited on in a very progressional manner. Staff was very nice, courteous, and then we realized I was at the incorrect location for my stay. I made my way to the crossroads location where I actually booked. Earlier that day I called to see if I could do an early check in. When answering the phone, the staff was quite rude and asked if she could finish what she was working on first. In my opinion, I feel like you could have just said please hold, or not answered until you were ready to take my call. It just came off rude. I really brushed it off and proceeded to incorrect location as I described above. Then when I arrived to the correct hotel, there were no spots to park for valet and no valet workers outside. I waited several minutes and ultimately drove off to venture around the block. Finally I had to call the hotel desk again to ask if someone with valet is available. They had the desk person working both desk and valet which was horrible. Ultimately took me 30 minutes or more and two rude interactions just to get my car valeted. Then, on check in I decided to offer some feedback on my experience at the other location and how I felt this was not acceptable service for the price I’m paying. They then argued with me about the instruction they gave me on the phone. I finally get checked in and proceeded to my room and my keys didn’t work. I would have brushed this off too but I just got the vibe that was done on purpose. I will never know but then the room space was decent and bed comfy but the bathroom floors are disgusting and don’t really look like they have been cleaned. Ultimately if I would have had the time I would have transferred my stay to the downtown location. These people are rude, inefficient and this is definitely not worth the price I paid. Annisa Kumerow: I'm only halfway through my stay, so this review is subject to change in case things get better. I doubt that they will though. It's 2:30 am, and I just want to save future travelers their trouble if they are thinking of staying here. Please don't be fooled by the nice design of the hotel, or the comfy bed. You may not get to sleep in it because the walls are extremely thin. I've heard the neighboring room argue about who's going to petsit their dog, discuss their underwear, and argue with each other. It's not just the fact that we share a wall - you can hear this pretty loudly in the hallway as well. I called the front desk over 30 minutes ago and they said they would send someone up, but either no one has come up (bad) or they think this kind of volume is acceptable in their hotel (worse). I'm here for business and really wish that the neighboring Home 2 Suites had rooms available, because I really don't know how I'm supposed to function on this trip with this kind of noise in the middle of the night. That hotel is much cheaper, with more in-room amenities, and the noise levels are somewhat tolerable.I just tried calling again and the phone rang for five minutes until I gave up. Not the level of service I would expect at this cost.

Harry Collins: I called to book a room for a conference I was attending with my company. They answered and everything thing seemed fine. They asked me what I needed. I mentioned I was interested in making a booking for me and my employees and suddenly they told me that a person had just walked up to their desk and that I needed to call later in the day because they needed to help this new person. They didn't even try to put me on hold or anything. Just told me to end the call because this new customer was more important then helping the customer they were already attending too. The whole thing came off as very rude and I don't plan on calling them back.

There was only 1 or 2 of them working at a time and they were amazing at being a host, valet, running the whole place. They all deserving of a raise, going above and beyond our whole stay. They were able to check us in early which was such a relief after a different hotel the night before not even ready by check in. The rooms are like a little studio apartment, so clean and modern. The location is so convenient, we were like 3 mins from our concert venue and tons of food. Do not hesitate to book here!
