Pene Havens: You need to see 2016 Main before you make any decisions about where to hold your event! We had our rehearsal dinner here - about 90 people. It was a wonderful experience. The venue itself has a unique fun vibe that many of the places we toured did not. It's not a space you need to come in and decorate. Look at the photo gallery and you'll see what I mean. All we did was add centerpieces to the tables and the caterer did their setups and the place looked great! Pat and Jodi were both such a pleasure to work with. They were quick with responses to my questions and had no problem with me coming to the venue multiple times before our event to check things out and go over questions. Our rehearsal at the church ended sooner than anticipated so I called Pat to see if we could start our event earlier than planned and he accomodated us even though it would definitely have been understandable if they couldn't. Don't miss this gem!

Holly Milby: Pat, the owner, was an absolutely amazing to work with. He was quick at responding to my questions and made every idea we had come to life. He even helped us come up with a recipe for our signature drink named after our dog. The venue was beautiful and had everything we needed, including a bridal getting ready suite. Pat and his staff were helpful with flipping the space between the ceremony and reception. They were also great the day of the wedding with getting things set up and in place. I cannot say enough good things about him and his amazing event space.

Margaret Miller: You can stop looking for a venue - 2016 Main is IT!! When we first walked in to this space, I knew right away that I wanted to get married there! It is STUNNING. Exposed brick, hardwood floors, greenery wall, gorgeous decorative white wall, artwork...you name it, they've got it! You probably didn't realize that you want a collage wall filled with formal dog portraits at your wedding, but I can assure you that YOU DO, and 2016 Main has it! We loved this space for so many reasons, but a big deciding factor was because we didn't have to rent any extras! I'm not exaggerating when I say that all we did was add flowers and votives on the tables, rent some linens, and the space looked fully decorated and GORGEOUS! My pictures are beautiful and so so elegant! The owners, Pat and Jodi, will forever be 2 of my very favorite people. They are SO MUCH FUN! They are laid back and will make you feel relaxed and at ease, while also being extremely attentive, focused on details, and quick to communicate. I sent Pat so many questions and changed so many things, and he was always so great about it and responded right away! Pat also acted as our day-of-coordinator. He contacted all of my vendors and arranged everything. I didn't get peppered with any last minute questions from vendors and everyone showed up on time and had everything we needed! Everyone always says that something will go wrong on your wedding day, but honestly, I can't think of ANYTHING that went wrong, and I know that that is in major part due to all of Pat and Jodi's help and planning both leading up to the big day, as well as their assistance the day of! I can't stop re-living the day and looking at our pictures of the venue. Now that the wedding is over, I'm honestly trying to think up a reason to rent the space all over again just to have an excuse to hang out with Pat and Jodi and be surrounded by so much elegance and beauty again. In case I didn't drive the point home, THIS is the venue you want and THESE are the people you want helping you plan! Make your appointment ASAP and go ahead and cancel the others...this is the only space you'll need to see. Take it from the bride who toured 14 wedding venues... ;)

Chris Rebel: While 2016 Main is a very beautiful event space, The owner Pat is unprofessional beyond reason. He won't hesitate to hijack your wedding and ruin the experience. I witnessed this first hand as Pat harassed members of a family members wedding party and kicked people out hours early, just so he could leave early himself.I have attended other weddings in Kansas City, in many event spaces and none have had the event space owner present, calling the shots at your event.Pats expectations are: You pay him substantial sums, conduct the wedding ceremony and leave immediately. It does not matter if you pay for his most expensive packages. I would seriously urge anyone who is considering this space to reconsider their options.

Motivational Daisy: Was attending 1st Friday's was catching the vibes of the atmosphere on mcgee street. As soon as you walked through the entrance of security they had a bar outside for those who wanted to catch the vibes. Once you enter into the gallery you are taken back by the corky and different pieces that you see on display. There is also a live dj that was playing that tied into the film and vibe of their atmosphere.

Ron was very welcoming and achievef his goal of being on 18th street. I will continue support him by attending exhibits at Ethnic Art and bring others to see exhibits there and to enjoy the space. It is very nice. It gives me another cultural place around the city to visit.

Denise LaBranch: The EthnicArt Gallery create a intimate atmosphere for the Artist and their art work. The Art allows your mind to wander to Infiniti. Art creates thoughts, ideas, and songs just to name a few gestures created by the mind when it is allowed to wonder. This gallery lets you enjoy the art and the artist. Definitely worth a visit.

Andrew Erickson: This a fantastic, new, and locally owned gallery that has recently opened up in the burgeoning area around KU Med. A wonderful and intimate space that has an exquisite eye for art and artists of all mediums. Lee, the owner and attendant, is a wonderful ambassador for the arts bringing both warmth and knowledge to her gallery. To fans of art at any level, I strongly encourage you to go and check out this place early and often, as I'm sure it'll become an institution in the Kansas City artist community.

Andrew Erickson: I love this gallery. The artists are talented, and friendly, the space is eclectic, which works great for their variety styles. They have some great spaces for artists that want an affordable studio. They frequently do movie-nights in the old car-park. TJ Templeton is an excellent artist, and runs the center. I highly recommend it as a must stop for your 1st Friday stops.
