Alexa Savka: We came here to celebrate Father’s Day and my son’s 4th birthday. There was no wait, our server greeted us right away, and everything was amazing. The atmosphere was perfect, my husband got to watch the US Open and enjoy a cold beer while I had a lavender martini. The Poké Nachos are to die for. I highly recommend their Vampire Tacos and a cup of Tomato Bisque. It’s velvety and delicious and hits the spot every time. The tacos have amazing texture and flavor. My husband said his Korean BBQ Philly was incredibly good. Definitely get truffle fries when you go too. Overall it was an excellent experience and we will be back again and again. I haven’t had any issues ever when going here and it’s never overly busy.

We walked in to two friendly faces at the host stand happy to help with suggestions. Chelsea took care of us so well, it completely made our night—even offered us a beverage while we waited. Avery Epstein: The food was fantastic. We did not know what to expect but everyone enjoyed their meal. I got the pork/pork belly, and the meat was cooked perfectly. My stepmother doesn't really eat red meat, but she said if she lived in KC, she would come back every month just to eat the Friday special (she is from Chicago). If you have the chance (and it is not too hot), sit outside! The beer garden is beautifully done!

Chris Reyes: One of our favorite places. The food is consistently good here. The bar tenders make the best drinks. The bacon wrapped shrimp is a must. Outdoor seating is a must when its nice out. Large area outside to gather. The owners are there quite a bit to make sure the experience is personal. We usually get the steaks a salad and drinks. The carrot cake is our favorite for dessert.
Annette Berry: Went for date night and really enjoyed our dining experience. We started at the bar for re meal drinks. JJs has a great variety to choose from, and the bartender was knowledgeable and attentive. Then we moved outside for dinner. The food and service were generally great. My date didn't like his swordfish, and my carrot cake was dry and tasted like a bad grocery store version. Otherwise, the food was delicious. The ambiance must be mentioned cause it was so nice and added to the success of evening. I definitely recommend JJs for date night!

Food was great, presentation was impressive, and portion sizes were large.Understanding we dined during a busy dinner time on a weekend, the servers seemed overworked and some of the dishes came out a little colder than expected. But the taste was still delicious, and we’d certainly be back to give it a second try.
Maugan Ra: A friend came from out of town and loves to try new food. She found Novel and we went. The waiter was prompt and personable (and even recognized my scientist nerd music from my Spotify, which hadn't turned off.) We had the steak tartare, which was fantastic and the fried potatoes... The curry spiced ketchup was insanely good. Friday night at 7 pm, there were plenty of customers but not overcrowded. I will definitely suggest it to my locals.

On the spicy side but was asked ahead of time with warning and they were right. Melissa Davis: This restaurant was stellar! The service was impeccable every step of the way. Every item we ordered was next level. We started with the crispy farm egg and then the spring ravioli. Both were excellent. I had the KC strip for my main course and it did not disappoint. It was served with the best carrots I've ever had and I'm typically indifferent about carrots. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

Royce Shields: Upon arrival the place was really nice. Once seated we placed our orders. We waited about 45 mins before getting the two appetizers that were ordered. After about another 20 mins or so the waitress approached the table and informed us that she placed the order incorrectly(Unfortunately she didn’t provide us a name so can’t exactly who she was) but when asked about how long it would be before the food would come, she stated “well you ordered 3 steaks, rolled her eyes and walked off”(mind you all the steaks were 6oz) she also brought me a child’s orange juice and when she returned for refills I asked for more juice and she stated “well they said they ran out of juice”, as if that’s my fault. She could have said this and I could have ordered something else! We then we asked for a manager and asked the same about time frame on receiving food, because now we’ve waited over an hour, and with no response. He then stated “you did order steaks and your orders all needed extra accommodations, but not going to go back and forth with you we are working on getting it out to you, it’s only been placed 20 mins ago and walked off”…I am a manager myself and never would treat guest in this manner we then as a party of 9 decided to leave. It was very clear that other tables were a priority over others, but even as nice as the place displayed its self to be, we will not return to this location. There were guest that arrived after us and who spoke to us outside of the restaurant as they waited for the rest of their party, they got in received food and was leaving within the time of us asking about receiving our order. Ruined the birthday girls day for sure, currently looking for another place to eat. Worst visit ever!!!!

Took our drink orders took a while returning with drinks, promptly after we placed our food order roughly 12:15, waited patiently server returned to our table @ 12:40 stating it was a mishaps between her putting in the order & the kitchen staff! Never apologized for the mess up! I then approached the manager adv him of the issue.He begin to tell me we ordered steaks and etc, mindful of that however the fact the serve & manager both responded w/attitude’s & unprofessional mannerUNACCEPTABLE, clear to see In the environment was prioritized by color. A family bigger then our party arrived and was seated same time as our party & was leaving and served when we decided to leave the establishment.Sadden first time here and will never return

Hannah Taylor: We met some family here for brunch a few weeks back and it was really disappointing. I had been looking forward to it for a very long time and heard great things. Our service was okay and the place was beautiful but there was long periods in between being checked on and the food was extremely underwhelming. I got the diablo and it was okay but wasn't really spicy nor had a lot of flavor and my boyfriend's french toast looked unappetizing. Definitely not worth the $70+ I spent on the two of us... Maybe we should have come for dinner instead.

Michael Coddington: Delicious and unique dining. Great cocktails and rum flights. Menu is divided between Caribbean and traditional Ethiopian offerings. Lambi (conch) and Mesob Special (shrimp) to start, Oxtails were stellar, House Special Tibs was wildly delicious, Seafood Paella was standard but good. Rum Cake and Oreo bread pudding finished out the great meal. We will note that service this Friday night was terrible; no one greeting at the door, had to wait quite a while for someone to notice and be seated for our reservation, and this occurred for almost every party coming in, servers were gracious and helpful, but long waits between seating, water, taking orders, and trying to get our bill to leave. It wasn't particularly busy, and there seemed to be plenty of staff, but they seemed confused and erratic. Will 100% recommend for the food, I just hope the service was a one off difficult night.

We started off with appetizers - the oan seared crab cakes with a spicy sauce and the delicious parmesan fritters made from taro root! These were my favorites! For the main course, my hubby and I both ordered the braised oxtails, which were over a small bed of collard greens, green peas, a piece of of a carrot, and potato. My twob oxtails, although large and flavorful, were not as tender as they needed to be. We both opted for white rice (which came a little later) instead of the black mushroom rice since I am allergic to some types of mushrooms. I will say the sauce was ample and therefore make the rice taste so good!My cousin got the Jerk Ribs with parmasan fries with a spicy sauce and coleslaw. His wife ordered a seafood jambalaya. Sapphic Sphinx: Overpriced tourist trap for Johnson County palates. 12 dollars for a small, subpar cucumber salad. 10 dollars for ricotta on toast. For some perspective, this is the same price as the famed ricotta toast that also includes homemade jam at the Los Angeles restaurant “Sqirl”. Might be worth it to people who have not dined on tapas in other cities.And they respond to negative reviews so defensively, you’d think if they were confident in their product they’d ignore them. Would have given more stars if I hadn’t seen their treatment of dissatisfied customers. There are much worthier and fairly priced restaurants in the city. Fully expect a salty response to follow.
Alexis Ostiguy: We went with a group of 6 and ordered 12+ things off the menu to share. Everything was delicious. Our favorites were the fudgy eggs (I’ve never liked deviled eggs until this dish!), seared tuna and lamb kebabs. We went on a Monday and brought our own wine since there is a no corkage fee. It was a great experience! My only complaint was that it was loud. I think it would be a wonderful place to sit on the patio!

Gwen Goldfish: Personally thought this place was overrated. Not bad - just overrated. I had the lamb kebab that was ground lamb when I was expecting pieces of lamb and it doesn't specify on the menu. It was set in a sauce which was pretty necessary because the lamb, ( even though ground and mixed with spices) didn't have much flavor. The server was really nice and very helpful but just a bit over the top.I would go again if someone else wanted to go but I wouldn't be in a hurry to try it again myself.

She suggested the tequila white wine sangria, that was amazing! The cucumber salad was wonderful! The flavor was great and so beautifully plated. The Roasted Feta was to die for! Alisa West: I'm a person who travels often for work, and I love trying local eateries. Clustertruck had a ton of positive reviews, so I was sold. I should have known something was off when I tried to call and got a voicemail asking to text. Which no one answered until after i finally got the pickup order, but thats another story. Finally found the correct door to ring doorbell and they had food ready to go which was very cool. I ordered a burger combo and pork tacos along with quac and queso. It was kind of a bummer. You can tell the burger patty was frozen and had no flavor other than sweet from the bun. The sidewinder fries were good. I was hoping to get some redemption from the tacos since they have bacon, but they had no flavor even with sauces. The bacon didn't taste like bacon :(....The queso tastes like they melted the Blanco Velveeta and added cream. The quac was the best thing even tho it was browned. I'm super bummed bc I was ready for them to represent but sadly no. I spent 45 bucks ...man im sad :(Hopefully yall have better luck.

The chicken was juicy and moist and dripping with goodness, so many robust flavors! The Pad Thai was great when I was sick and on a gluten free diet, again, full of flavor and ingredients!
