Austen Saylor: For me, there are three primary things a restaurant should be judged for - service, taste, and value. Jess and Jim’s service isn’t an issue. However, the value for the food, and the taste of the food, leaves everything to be desired. I received $200 in gift cards for Jess and Jim’s. I’ve ordered steaks, Primeburgers, and wings. All of these were cooked incorrectly, of the lowest quality, and tasted downright awful. Approximately half of the food is simply inedible. The average cost for one person to eat here is well over $20, not including tip and so forth. For inedible food, I deem that far, far too expensive. I’m not sure the burgers are worth more than $4. Everything that this restaurant is famous for will leave you completely wanting for something that they haven’t put their own spin on.

John T: This has been on my list of places to try for quit awhile. Now I wonder why I waited to long. Was taken here for my birthday. Very nice special touch with a personalized menu with my name and happy birthday printed on it. My steak was excellent. Cooked to the right temp and a nice sear. Oysters Rockefeller were delicious. Service was on point. Can’t wait to eat here again.
Sanjay Srikantiah: I visited the 801 chophouse for Berkshire Hathaway weekend. I was lucky enough to be at the restaurant the same evening that Mr. Warren Buffett was there with his family! I thoroughly enjoyed the food, particularly the Wagyu, best cut of meat I’ve ever had in my life! I will be back at the 801 chophouse next year when I am in Omaha for the annual meeting.

Patrícia: While this restaurant wasn't quite my thing, I'd definitely recommend it to any meat lovers out there! However, if you're not a fan of meat, this might not be the place for you. Unfortunately, there weren't many non-red meat options available, so if you're looking for a spot to accommodate various dietary restrictions, this might not be the best choice. That being said, our waitress was incredibly friendly and helpful, even though we opted for non-read meat dishes. It was clear that he was passionate about the restaurant's red meat offerings, but he still made sure we had a great experience.

Thomas VanDeventer: I typically hesitate to write negative reviews because I understand their impact, but sadly I am compelled to write this review. My wife and I have great memories of fantastic experiences at Fogo over the past decade and were excited to make a visit last night. The greeting from the front of house and wait staff was warm and our server was friendly. The disappointment started and lasted with the meat- the main star. Aside from the lamb chop, every single piece of meat that came by was OVER COOKED. I mean absolutely no touch of red in it at all and tough to chew. I mean, we asked for mid rare multiple times and they said this is all they have and never came around with more options. Most, not all, but most of the steaks were barely salted also. One of the gentlemen serving the meat had later told us that all the meat was being cooked to well done because one large table that was there wanted it that way, and that he put and order in for mid-rare but the cooks ignored it, it wasn’t until we already had our ticket and napkins on our plates that he came out with filet that was mid rare. We left disappointed and saddened by the experience. If we leave a place having spent $160 on a meal, there should be an expectation that the quality of food should meet that cost. We live 3 hours away from Fogo and unfortunately will likely not return, management needs to know. Again, our service was good and friendly, just trying to make a living, but possibly unaware of the quality of food they’re putting out.
T Wash: I have not been to the plaza in years due to the service provided to blacks in that area is usually less than acceptable. Yesterday, I celebrated a birthday with at this location. The bartender is the only welcoming person in the resturant. He was very helpful. As for the service, it has been at least 3 years since I have eaten at this location. My partners salmon was over-cooked. She was so confused about the stand-offish service that she was willing to pay full price for meat that clearly wasnt edible. I said no and her meal was changed without an issue. The meat we decided to order was so burnt and dry, but instead of any of the staff worrying about that, we kept getting asked if we were ready for the check after our first round of meat. I then pulled a manager aside like is there a time limit for dining? He then said no there is no problem you can stay for an hour maybe two. I then knew it was time to go. The white family sitting seconds away from us had been there before we arrived, and where still seated after we paid. As we were gathering our things a waiter from another table comes by, opens our debit card folder, to check and see if we left our check paid. Why are we being clocked? It was super uncomfortable. What makes your business believe that all black people are poor or steal? This was the most racist experience I have had in over 10 years. Seriously, if your company doesnt want black or lgbt money, I would rather a sign just be displayed. Ruined the birthday vibe for sure! Do better!

Service was decent, it was busy so we sat at the table for awhile before addressed. If you dont like being around alot of people, do not visit during peak times. Ava Adams: we went for father’s day with three people. we only had a salt shaker on the table the entire meal. the meat service started out great but dwindled shortly. every time i went up to the salad bar for bread they were seamingly out. the meat carvers spoke so fast we had to ask for them to repeat themselves every time. the meat was ok, but barley seasoned. the atmosphere was loud with dishes clanging all around and fairly loud music on top of talking and clear sounds from the kitchen that you could hear from across the dining room. we ordered one crème brûlée and waited for over 15 minutes and watched the staff take a picture in the dinning room. i strongly suggest going to emchamas instead.

Katlyn Hilton: We have always been a huge fan of the food and service at Stock Hill. However we were very disappointed when we called on Mothers Day for carry out order to pick up several hours later. We were very rudely told by the man on the phone that they were on a long wait, kitchen was backed up and they had no time to accommodate our request. It was very off putting in that he made us feel as if we were trying to inconvenience them by our request, which as a paying recurring customer this was frustrating

My Visit here consist of cocktails and small plate I went for a traditional Old Fashioned cocktail while it was made well I expected a block or sphere cube not a bunch of regular ice this I found a bit disappointing but taste pretty good. It maybe just needed a bit more sugar but at $15 per drink I want it close to perfect Mixology level. I ordered oysters and they were fresh and taste great, however they were a bit small some of the smaller oysters iv had in a while. All in all I look forward to dining here for dinner very soon in hope that my ticket matches my experience.

Review from 5/13/23 is 2 stars. Restaurant is still unique and looks great. However, had a very poor dining experience. VERY slow to get a drink. Martinis came out wrong and had to send back (asked for NOT dirty and NO vermouth). When drinks came back were not dirty but still had vermouth. The olives were very sad and smushed - I would have been embarrassed to serve them. Medium rare filets came out medium. Tried bone in filet for first time but definitely not worth $30 more. 3 people was $375 with one drink each - plus tip. Expecting a flawless, stellar experience but was very disappointed - service, food, drinks and value.

Jill Pelletier: We hosted a priviate dinning event at this restaraunt. This is our second time at this venue due the fact that the first time was an amazing experiance. Prior to the event we check the establishment out to insure everthing is going smothly. They did not have the tables set up as requested. Spoke with Tiger, the Manager – he said he had no noted for conference style (they had 2 rows of banquet tables, seats on both sides so people would be sitting back-to-back) he said his staff comes in at 4:30 and would rearrange – and he would call so I could go back and place the seating cards.5:15 hadn’t received a call saying everthing was ok – the tables were not rearranged, spoke with Tiger, he said they are getting right on it. I mapped out the seating chart and left him the placecards.We arrived with the group at 6:30 and seated right away. Cheese/crackers or apps were not out, did not have wines out, or the wine selection noted at all. We needed to go through the wine list to select. Drink orders did not get started till almost 7 – actual orders for Course 2 not started till about 7:20. We have one server for the group or 22, for the most part – taking orders, serving entrees, and dessert (he did have help with refilling water and soup/salad arriving). He really wasn’t reading the room, as far as transitioning out one course to the other. We had to ask for drinks/refills a couple times for some people.Overall the food was great. The service was less than average for sure – compared to the last time we were there.
Emily R: My husband and I went to Stock Hill to celebrate our 15 year anniversary. It was an absolute perfect evening. The food was amazing and our servers were very friendly and attentive. I can't think of a single thing that would have made the night better. Highly recommended to anyone looking to have a special night out on the town with great food and drinks.
Christin Starr: The food was okay, but the service we got was just sorry. This was just this past Saturday and it wasn’t busy at all and we were surprised by that since it usually is. It wasn’t like our server was flustered with tables (we were one of the two she had upon arrival up until close, and if you’re upset about how not busy it is maybe try to actually be nice to your tables so you can be tipped well). She definitely had a bad vibe from the beginning and acted like she didn’t care for us and it really put a damper on the evening being we were out to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday. We are also not rude to service industry people (in general, but I’m also a server myself) so it was clear she just didn’t care, or maybe she just didn’t like POC’s, because her other table of people were not POC’s and it was clear to see they were dealt with better. I honestly regret even tipping her, although it was below average of what I normally tip due to the level of service we got, if I could take it back I absolutely would. Probably should’ve tried to switch servers mid dinner, but who wants to have to do that?? Dare I say you will get better service at a Texas Roadhouse or any other chain restaurant for a third of the price! It was such a let down, so much so that we think we’re going to redo this birthday dinner at 801 Chophouse! They never disappoint! It was one of the options I could’ve chosen from anyways and SHOULD HAVE. If we ever return we will try to make sure we never have the same person again.

Julianne Rabal: This was my first visit to any Capital Grille location. I was celebrating a college graduation with high hopes of having a great experience with my family. Unfortunately that was not the case. We had to wait 45 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. The food was decent, however our server was extremely rude and had an awful attitude the entire evening really spoiling our night. Brett would take our plates and drinks without asking if we were not finished - even when there were still a large sip left. He did not really acknowledge our special occasion. We were expecting much better service for spending $$$$.

Even with the gift card it was a little pricey. The apps and dessert were our favorite parts, so I think it might be better for lunch or happy hour. Here is my review of each item-Service and atmosphere- 10/10. Our waiter was great and it was really cool to look out the windows and see the plaza at night. The ceiling was also beautiful.Raspberry mule- 8/10 the flavor was really good but tasted a little watery and there didn’t seem to be much alcoholLavender haze- 5/10 honestly it was ordered because of the Taylor Swift song but it had a very weird aftertaste. I don’t think the lavender flavor and alcohol mixed well. Drinkable but didn’t order a second.Shrimp kisses- 10/10 amazing. Perfect amount of chili kick, sweetness, and saltiness. Hot and delicious. Gary Maddox: My wife wanted a steak dinner for Mother's Day so we decided on Hereford House since we knew it's one of the best steakhouses in town. She got the ribeye plus loaded baked potato & butter garlic green beans while I had the KC strip with parmesan broccoli & sweet potato fries for my sides. Both steaks were perfectly cooked to our orders (medium on both) & quite tasty. She didn't care for the green beans since she prefers the more fully cooked kind however I tried a bite & liked them being slightly firm. She did enjoy her baked potato & I liked both of my sides pretty well. Service was a little slow which can be expected with such a busy place though it was quite nice to be seated after only waiting a few minutes or so beforehand. The only other thing is that Hereford House is mighty pricy. Our dinner including a little over 20% tip was $170! (Forgot to mention we had a rather nice jumbo shrimp cocktail appetizer for $18). So this place is more for special occasions for us since we're not rich by any means. Anyway I would definitely recommend this place since the food is so good & pretty much worth their prices.Parking: Since it was Mother's Day, Zona Rosa parking near the restaurant wasn't available so we used a parking garage a couple blocks away. Also unfortunately the parking near the restaurant most of the other places is parallel only which I'm no good at. Good though that Zona Rosa has a couple parking garages (though one was closed for repairs) and a few large parking lots adjacent.

CAT: After living here for four years, my fiancé and I finally decided to try Hereford House! We went in one evening unbeknownst to us, about an hour prior to their closing for the evening yet we were still treated with care by our server and hostesses. Would have been nice to been given a discount or something after their mistake and delay. Chris Reyes: One of our favorite places. The food is consistently good here. The bar tenders make the best drinks. The bacon wrapped shrimp is a must. Outdoor seating is a must when its nice out. Large area outside to gather. The owners are there quite a bit to make sure the experience is personal. We usually get the steaks a salad and drinks. The carrot cake is our favorite for dessert.

JJs has a great variety to choose from, and the bartender was knowledgeable and attentive. Then we moved outside for dinner. The food and service were generally great. My date didn't like his swordfish, and my carrot cake was dry and tasted like a bad grocery store version. Otherwise, the food was delicious. The ambiance must be mentioned cause it was so nice and added to the success of evening. I definitely recommend JJs for date night!

jj marcotte: I was so disappointed for a “cattle” restaurant to lack flavor on prime rib!! The au jus was so watered down and I didn’t even attempt the horseradish sauce. Also ordered the Apple pork chops and they were dry and lacked flavor. The best thing was the waiter, my sangria, and the garlic mashed potatoes!! Will never eat there again! Too over priced for what they are serving. I looked around at multiple tables and saw lots of food on their plates as well!EDIT:Their executive chef has reached out to make it right. Susan Clark: Albeit, I have been here numerous times and really enjoy the place, I have to say this was one of the worst experiences. The service (Mobinz) was terrible. He seems like a nice person, but the timing and check backs were not good. I had to get up at least twice to get my own beverage refill. I had to ask different employees for additional items such as butter, our check, etc. The amount of mashed potatoes on the entree was approx 1/4 of a cup or less. At first glance, I didn't even see any mashed potatoes. I really enjoyed the chicken fried steak. However, the baked potato was old and hard and didn't taste good. This is not my normal experience here, but it was not a good one this time. : (

Ric Smith: Met my parents there on a thurs night to celebrate my 60th b day. First thing I noticed was the ambiance...the hostess sat us next to one of the multiple fireplaces. Gorgeous and the architecture was lodge like. Confortable, big leather booth seating. We ordered crab cakes for appetizers and I had a KC strip with baker. OM Gosh folks...best steak I've had ever...maybe, but 5 star for sure! And our server was perfectly attentive and polite...took great care of us. I'm going back soon! deependablereviews: Very high quality food and service. The ribeye was cooked and seasoned perfectly and the truffle mushrooms were fantastic. They have a nice wine and beer selection. Our waiter was always attentive and worked to split our check with a big group. It’s definitely expensive but it’s a nice treat. Make a reservation if you have a bigger group.
