Wall Flower: Good food, good service, atmosphere is OK. Prices are reasonable. I really don't have anything bad to say. The green bean dinner and fried egg rolls were good. I had a couple of bites of the red curry soup, and that was quite good. I would probably have that the next time. I always appreciate vegan options, and the tofu was a good addition.

Its pricey, but its worth it for the extra flavor you get that you won't find in other restaurants or store bought. The food was brought out surprisingly quickly too, I think we were only waiting about 5-10 minutes, the waiters/waitresses were very friendly, the restaurant itself was very beautiful and clean. ChanoRed Bandit: This delicious cuisine is located just northeast of City Market. Cold day? Enjoy one of their hot soups. Not only do you get plenty to eat, but the flavor explosions your palate experiences are memorable and comforting, to say the least. My recent visit included my goto Spring Rolls. Served with a creamy peanut sauce to dip your rolls in is a great compliment to the fresh vegetables and pieces of brisket and shrimp hidden inside, a terrific selection to start your meal. We then ordered a dish I saw flying out of the kitchen. Fried Sweet Potato fries with shrimp, served with their intoxicating fish broth. I was instructed to use the lettuce leaf to tuck in the cilantro, potatoes, and shrimp, then pour some fish broth into it and...BAMMM! My taste buds were never happier. I then chose a pork chop dish that was totally outside my box of favorites. It was served with a delightful chicken broth I will definitely try again, however, I have to say the dish as a whole was not a flavor profile I would revisit, but it was not a terrible experience; it was just different from my usual choices. So take a drive to Vietnam Cafe, your taste buds will thank you for the freshness of their vegetables and the unique flavor bombs that await you. Bon Appétit

Michael Coddington: Delicious and unique dining. Great cocktails and rum flights. Menu is divided between Caribbean and traditional Ethiopian offerings. Lambi (conch) and Mesob Special (shrimp) to start, Oxtails were stellar, House Special Tibs was wildly delicious, Seafood Paella was standard but good. Rum Cake and Oreo bread pudding finished out the great meal. We will note that service this Friday night was terrible; no one greeting at the door, had to wait quite a while for someone to notice and be seated for our reservation, and this occurred for almost every party coming in, servers were gracious and helpful, but long waits between seating, water, taking orders, and trying to get our bill to leave. It wasn't particularly busy, and there seemed to be plenty of staff, but they seemed confused and erratic. Will 100% recommend for the food, I just hope the service was a one off difficult night.

Service was great by our service and the bartender who made the best mocktail I've ever had - an n/a mojito - so refreshing! Didn't get pictures because we ate it all too fast. We started off with appetizers - the oan seared crab cakes with a spicy sauce and the delicious parmesan fritters made from taro root! These were my favorites! For the main course, my hubby and I both ordered the braised oxtails, which were over a small bed of collard greens, green peas, a piece of of a carrot, and potato. My twob oxtails, although large and flavorful, were not as tender as they needed to be. We both opted for white rice (which came a little later) instead of the black mushroom rice since I am allergic to some types of mushrooms. I will say the sauce was ample and therefore make the rice taste so good!My cousin got the Jerk Ribs with parmasan fries with a spicy sauce and coleslaw. His wife ordered a seafood jambalaya. They both enjoyed their meals as well. We didn't order drinks, but the ones we saw looked really good. They have a very nice bar area! I would come back again!

I'd probably say blue nile is better for KC Ethiopian, but this is a super fun menu and the place has a great vibe.I think they were maybe a bit understaffed, so we were served by the hostess. This is a odd menu with various things size for two or more, so you really need help if you haven't been before. We also had to ask several times for new utensils.Vegetarian options: Ethiopian is always great for vegetarian. Options here were good for KC, but about okay for Ethiopian.

Garrett Allaman: Truly one of my favorite places to eat. My favorite dish is the spicy miso pork ramen, it has an excellent balance between flavor and spice. If I'm really hungry I'll get the nabeyaki udon. The nabeyaki udon is a ton of food and has a really awesome presentation, I love bringing friends here and watching their face when it comes out of the kitchen. The staff is very friendly which is another reason I come back to this place. The space is small, comfortable, and has a fun aestetic. If you are showing up with a group make sure you call ahead because seating is limited.

J Bern: I ordered the fried chicken curry and it came out quickly and was very tasty. The waitress was very nice. Their drinks are non refillable and water bottles will cost you $1 each but you are able to bring your own drink! I would recommend this place for smaller groups of 4 or less. It looked like there was a sweets shop in the same building, unfortunately they were closed when we went.

James: This is officially my favorite restaurant in KC! The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly, with beautiful art on the walls and lots of natural light. Everything on the menu looks amazing and was obviously curated by the owner with a lot of care. The salmon onigiri was a great starter, the shrimp and calamari were so fresh and cooked perfectly, and the sasadango dessert imported from Japan was light and refreshing. The person who served our food was so nice and gave us recommendations for our food, which I really appreciated. This is a great place to go if you want fairly priced, delicious food that won't make you feel heavy afterwards. I feel very happy knowing I supported a small business and an owner who has very caringly brought fantastic and fresh Japanese cuisine to KC.
