Gage Hayes: Best customer service ever, and a surprisingly good selection. Got back in town late after the last snowboard trip of the season. Girlfriend has never had her own gear, didn't know what boots would fit her best. The guy there answered every question we had, knew exactly what we needed, and then answered 15 more unrelated questions, even though I told him we wouldn't need gear until next year AND it was getting past their closing time. Definitely will be using them for all my gear needs!

D M: My Moment Wildcats were mounted by Joe with a paper jig. He did not measure his mounting point and my toe piece was several millimeters off from where it should be. I looked at it for about 30 seconds and said it was in the wrong place. Joe took zero accountability. He first said he has done “hundreds” of them, then he asked if they were counterfeit because he had never seen the Pivot 15 (or 18) toe piece, then he said he had seen “a couple”. Finally, he gave me my skis and called it a “learning experience”. He failed to adjust forward pressure correctly. I had to make several trips from Columbia to baby sit this mount. He finally was blaming my Alpine DIN (ISO 5355) boot for being “non standard” and “too old” because he could not adjust forward pressure on the Pivot 15, despite being the exact same heel piece as the other Look Pivot bindings with a different DIN spring. He was finally going to take a file and file the heel of my boots because he couldn’t figure out why the boot was rubbing on the heel of the binding. Taking my skis to Denver Sports Lab and we determined the ski was mismounted and drilled with an incorrect bit or over torqued because two of the holes stripped when removed. This should never happen with a poplar/ash wood core ski with the build quality Moment has. The guys at DSL has never seen it happen working on actual hundreds of these skis.

Flatlanders has a fantastic variety of boards (only shop in town to have the license to sell Never Summer), boots, bindings, and all the services you need to have a fantastic experience on the snow!! They are definitely the best snowboard / ski shop in the Kansas City area!! The owner was also very kind, she made sure to warn me about protecting my board from being stolen and even gave me a cool lock!! Will be going there for all other snow needs in the future:)

Scott Sharp: What an outstanding ski shop! The selection is, of course, not like a big box store, but neither is the service- it's WAY more personal! Ski boots I've rented have always hurt my ankles, and I've never been able to figure out why. Joe got my issue diagnosed and was able to custom fit a pair of boots I bought there so they fit like gloves. Can't wait to try them on the slopes! Highly recommended!!

Lucas Wake: I had bought some new bindings from here. I told them the correct size of my boot, but they sold me the wrong size of binding. So when I went in to get them exchanged(mind you they are brand new). The gentleman that was helping me said he needed to get the owner for the exchange. When the owner came over to help me, I almost could not believe he was the manager of the establishment let alone the owner. He was irritated with me, for even being there it seemed like he was very rude and in the way he would speak to me. The bindings had nothing wrong with them. Simply wanted to exchange to get a correct size on a pair of bindings that one of his employees gave it to me in the wrong size. He said the only thing he would give me is 40% store credit for them (even though they are brand new). When I tried to be levelheaded about the situation. The owner became outraged and irritated with my presence so he left. The two employees beside me were shocked and apologized on his behalf, and simply said that they are is nothing they could do for me without his approval. All employees of this place are great.I’ve got a lot of friends in the snowboard industry, and I was gonna recommend to the shop after my first experience with them. But now I will never, and I mean never. Shop here again or recommend this place. To anyone who feels like being mistreated or paying $200 for a pair of bindings they can’t even use now that are brand new.

I explained to owner nature of my request; went to car to retrieve skis, unfortunately, my business & time wasn’t as important as the (2) men; again let me emphasize the fact that I was the only customer in the store when I arrived. Waited awhile & determined I’d be there until the men were accommodated & educated on skis…the thought of being completely ignored for any more time was not acceptable. I’m an older female, I’m not sure the gentleman was an “owner” as his customer service skills were non existent. I was planning on purchasing new skis whether or not he wanted to possibly take on my skis-this was not a dealbreaker! Still a man’s world & for that I’m very disappointed & won’t be back for any further humiliation

Mark Calvert: I am embarrassed to say I didn't know about Sitzmark until a few weeks ago. I first went to a large, national store to find some new ski boots and equipment and sales person there actually told me to go to Sitmark!Pete helped me get fit with a great new pair of Solomon boots - I appreciated everyone's patience and helpfulness so that I could find the right equipment. I ended up getting some nice ski pants and a new helmet, too.Thanks, everyone for the great help. See you again soon.
Chris Stenger: I bought boots here 15-20 years ago and they were amazing boots, but everything has a life span and theirs was up. Even though it was late season coupled with the fact that I’ve got wide/long feet, I was able to walk in and pick up a pair of boots that fit about 90% of the way. Over the next few days, they added an insole since I’ve got higher than average arches and “punched” out the sides (one boot twice) so that the fit is 100%. Everyone was friendly and fellow avid skiers or snowboarders. They also had an awesome shop dog. I received the best service possible. Thanks!

Michael Jay: Great toy store. If you're into the outdoors they have a pretty good selection of climbing, camping, and assorted outdoor gear. Friendly and helpful staff, and a fun quirky personality. They are a tad expensive as such places tend to be, but also offer discounts for some local groups which makes it a little more reasonable. They have a little bit of everything, and all of the basics to get you started with climbing.The new location at RoKC down south is pretty nice too.

I understand you need one in a store but why when i go in theres one, anyone can go in but somehow i go and im being watched, or felt like i was being watched.I left the first time it happened today to see if "I" was the problem and i came back half an hour later,and there was nobody but workers there. But get this im in here for 5 minutes no less and they alraedy call security. At this point i think they thought wrong of me, i was wearing pijamas and loose tee, not to mention im also brown. I honestly loved shopping here ehen i was little but now i kinda dont want to be near there. Along with that to what i think the manager with the beard whisperd to security and pointed/ looked at me while doing so. I useually come here to buy swaeters because nowhere else sells the ones i like, but after today i dont want to go ever again, the uneasiness of being watched while shopping sucks. Like ive said ive always shopped at the plaza but today was diffrent forshure.

Not sure if he was a regular employee or manager but you can tell this guys has issues with races such as hispanics and black people. I will definitely be contacting someone higher to have a conversation about this, since it seems not to be the first issue someone has had at this location, and I’m guessing it is the same person. I recently ordered online 4 big kids jackets that cost around $115 each . On the website beware that if you order a size and you return it to the website it will take 3 weeks from the time they receive your return to exchange or get a refund. This is not stated on their website . It does state you can take it into a North face store to exchange, but if you live 80 miles from the closest store that is pointless. I love product , hate the process and service. There are other competitor's out there. I guess it is time to move on . Now I wait 3 weeks for a refund of $400.00.. WOW ..

Walking around in sweats does not make me less. Walking around in heels does not make you better. I walked in and was no where near greeted the same way the other lady was, who was dressed in heels and a nicer outfit. I was asking for help and was brushed off multiple times. North Face, shame on you for letting these employees represent you. Truly disappointed with this location. Do better.
Steven McAllister: Experience left a lot to be desired. Tried to return an item purchased a few days ago and wasn't able to. Dozens of other retailers can look up receipts based on 1) your account or 2) the card you paid with. They couldn't do either. Receipt wasn't emailed or text to me when the purchase was made. I'll stick to online ordering going forward.

Great experience and we found some great Vans on sale!! So glad we stopped in and plan to again!

How unprofessional. Also they were asked to not come back because they looked suspicious. These teens did not do anything wrong and are very polite to authority. Terribly ran store. Do not recommend sending your teens in without a parent.

My teller was very pushy about becoming a member, which I understand as it’s their job to offer it, but when I refused he became rude and confrontational. He then continued on asking “you don’t have any friends or family who could use the money you’re wasting by not being a member?”. I felt very uncomfortable and ran out as soon as the transaction completed. I like REI, but was appalled by this verbal strong-arm attempt to make me a member.

The lady at the checkout asked me if I was a Rewards member, I said no, she told me about the $30.00 Rewards program, at first I thought okay not bad, then I said I'm okay but thank you. My reason for it was I felt it was a hard sell..... I thought really ? At REI? When did this hard sell stuff start?? She then proceeded to tell me all of the reasons I should buy the card, there may be advantages to it, but here's the deal:: It's my choice if I don't want to... As irritated as she became and attempted to "shame" me for not doing so ( told me it's saving the environment to buy it ) okay that's great, ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL I wanted to do today was buy shoes. That's it, it's not rocket science. I didn't argue or attempt to debate with her why I didn't want to buy it, It came off as if she's on commission to sell them. IDK if she is or not but it was not like any other time I've been there before which was simply "Hey here's our program, let us know if you'd like to sign up" approach.I didn't see it there, every other time I've ever been there it was pretty good, but if I go back I'll look for the "If you don't buy our Rewards card we don't want you here" sign....

D: 2 visits in the same week and Steven seemed to be more interested collecting a paycheck for his cell phone usage. Very unapproachable and seemed inconvenienced to assist.On our recent visit, we asked to use hit trax for my boys to try about 5 -7 hits with 3 different sizes To monitor drop in exit velo averages before spending $700+ on bats.While Steven stared at his phone I climbed in there on each bat change to find the different sizes to use which took a moment… he said if the size wasn’t in there to swing then too bad basically…He then walked away. Mark the manager came up and said that we needed to “rap it up”. He said his associate stated we were taking too long….and the cage isn’t made to just use without renting. I said I’m confused, we’re testing sizes. Mark told me to read the sign and it’s not for use unless rented. He said we had been in there for too long. I immediately went off. You want me to rent this cage to verify the $700 + I’m spending on bats is being spent correctly?In his role how would he even possibly think it’s ok to approach a customer in this way? We had been there maybe 5 mins per kid. This includes the time I had to help myself in finding sizes.Check cameras if you need to verify Timing.I’m blown away of Mark’s demeanor when approaching me with this nonsense. I have been in customer service for years and would never blindly approach a customer in that way. I had a few choice words with him about how he handled this encounter in his role…Especially coming from a role at the top of customer service leading a team of others.Unfortunately you have a couple bad apples that don’t seem interested in your customer retention.I am sure some kids come in and “abuse” the use of the hit trax cage but that’s doesn’t mean you disrespect everyone…your team is only as good as your weakest links…these 2 are a wasteful expense on the payroll.

Jennifer Finical: What retailers fail to understand is that the return experience needs to be as pleasant as the sales experience. My son is 9 and plays in various sports over the years. For the last 6 years I have bought all of his gear and school shoes here. But due to a snotty sales clerk and rude manager when I returned something WITH A RECEIPT AND IN THE PROPER RECEIPT TIME FRAME I will be going to Academy Sports now. So basically that’s the next 9 years of sales they lost, just for being rude over a return that they ended up refunding me for anyways. So I hope it was worth it!! And of course I also posted my experience to social media. 😉

And it took quit awhile to get it figured out.For as much time as they had to put into this issue I believe they charged me very fair. Unit was there awhile and the was running short on ideas since no way to check a ecu.But they got it, then sent it to Evo Powersports for retune.The was very fair on price. Highly recommend them. Not the cheapest but they will fix it.OTHER SHOP I took it to before going to them on ecu problem diagnosed it as bad turbo wanted me to spend 2600 on new turbo.Reno powersports kept it alive and kicking.

Instead of taking 2 minutes and looking up the NADA value, writing it on a business card and earning a customer for life, he said, “ I can’t help you”.So I left. I don’t have any interest in returning, it wasn’t a good experience.

foodlove cafe: The guys that helped me were gracious and knowledgeable.
Daniel Luksa: They were open on a Sunday when most other bike shops were closed and I needed a new tire to (hopefully) salvage a long weekend of riding.Erik's had the tire I wanted, and I figured they'd be able to help me seat the bead of my tubeless setup. Most bike shops will do it on the spot inexpensively/free when you purchase a tire and it takes less than 10 minutes.I re-taped my wheel and re-installed the valve (half the labor of this task), brought in my wheel and asked them to seat the bead of my new tire (this part requires an air compressor, I don't have one). They brought my wheel to the back and told me it would be ready early in the day the next day, and would cost $30. Completely silly, I should've said no thanks.The next afternoon, I stopped by after work to pickup my wheel and it still wasn't ready. Now very silly, but I am assured I am next in the queue for repair. Three hours later, Erik's texts me to let me know that my wheel is ready. Totally fair, the person in front of me must've needed thermal plates on their Space Shuttle replaced.I expressed dissapointment upon checkout but the clerk was dismissive and said it's summer and they have a lot of bikes back there. But now $30 and 30 hours later, I've got a tire with a seated bead.Most bike shops will do this in 10 minutes, and plenty of them would do it for free/cheap if you're buying a $100 tire. The biggest bummer of this story is that I missed a gorgeous day of riding.Do not bring your bike to be repaired here.

Brought in on Thursday June 8, service tech said since it was minor repair they’d probably have it ready either later Thursday or Friday morning at the latest.I called Friday PM, hadn’t started working on it. Called Saturday PM, hadn’t started working on it. Gave up calling as I was told we’ll call you. Finally Monday the 12th at 6pm, it’s ready. New tire, but brakes still feel squishy, same as when I brought it in. Really don’t want to bring it back in and have it sit there another 5 days.Main issue is not to over promise and underdeliver.

If they don’t think you need a specific repair they will tell you instead of charging you for a repair that is not needed. I was told I might need a new cable but in the end they said my bike looked pretty good and the cable didn’t need to be replaced after all. . I will definitely be bringing my bike to Eriks for future repairs. Thank you! Oh and they cleaned my bike up so nice! That was a plus😀
