Pleasant Valley Skateboard Park: what do users think?
Shaunte' Branham: No lights. Needs resurfacing. There is tape in some places to try and level the unevenness of this park. It's tape on concrete... Gaps at the ends of the transitions only seem doable for bikes to safely cross unless you have the ability to drop-in and immediately jump at the bottom or find a rare smooth spot. The city has definitely let the weather and visitors chew this park up.
troy la cour: Great when there are skaters to photograph!
Pam H: Recycling center. Open Wed-Sat. New Guy who works there so knowledgeable and helpful
Zach Thropp: Hometown park of mine can't say it's the best, but I still love it.
Kem Magee: It was fun to see all the graffiti. My kids don't have skateboards. But now they want to try
James Rader: Good stuff. I fell and hit my back. Would not recommend for anyone over the age of 14.
Charles Herndon: Dope skate spot! 🤙🏾
michael lee: Great place to take your kids! had a blast.
XxEmerald_FirexX: Nice a lot of free space and a lot of ramps. There is a tree with a lot of shoes on it and a lot of trash around the place. But very nice for advanced and beginners. There is so many places to practice tricks. Also great place for dogs. (To go on walks)
Lion: I'm reviewing the Shoal Creek Trail that encircles the skate park and a large swath of the forest, including a large pond. It's basically just a big circular gravel road and one stretch of it is roughly paved with asphalt. It's a decent walk that could take you around half an hour unless you're a quick walker. Bike friendly unless the ground is muddy. The pond dries up and fills in again depending on the recent weather. Kind of fun to watch throughout the year. There's a porta potty by the skate park. I have seen coyotes out here on the trail, so stay alert. Overall, this trail is nothing special, but it's easy walking and less crowded than other walking trails.
Scotty Lehew: Very nice place to let your fur baby stretch there legs
Angela Allen: A lot of people
Cole Holcom: Best skate park in Kansas city for bmx
Scott Wyckoff: I used to be a skater back in the 80s when it was taboo. Now the parks are available. Gives the kids a place to go and hang out. I take my dogs there and hang out to watch the kids skate. It's great. Sometimes there are 3 or 4 but give it few minutes and the park is full. 12 to 20 on boards. It's awesome. Takes an ole feller back.
Ciji Greenawalt: It says 24 hours. They are full of it. It is a nice sk8 park. But they shouldn't turn the lights off while people r enjoying the Park
Andrew Opland: I drove my traxxas rc car thare and it was a blast I got som air everyone was nice and it's not like thos cheap skate parks it was awesome It took a hour to get ther tho
emma arellano: I originally live in Omaha Nebraska and went to Missouri for a family trip. This skate park is amazing compared to Omaha! Everyone is so caring and nice.My little sister fell and 4 people came around to check on her, and hyped her up so she could calm down. 10/10 for sure!
Allen Little with A Little Motivation (A Little Motivation): Amazing
Josh Johnston: Janky and delightful, bring water...
Teresa Sperry: Very nice baseball fields here!
Carla N: Huge outdoor area for skateboards, bicycles, roller skates, roller blades and scooters.

Burning Spider Stoke Company, LLC.: what do users think?
Agustin Colon-Ortiz: Awesome experience, best skate shop in town, very knowledgeable.
Dominic Moore: Great place for projects and skateparks
Elizabeth Herrman: Dude was fantastic!!!! Set my boy up with his first custom longboard and got everything set for him. Walked us through the whole process. Absolutely recommend!!!
Nicolai V: Amazing customer service, I mean wow what a great guy to talk to. He was friendly with my 2 daughters and even gave them a board to mess with so they weren't bored waiting with me. Amazing grip tape job, pure art. Also got trucks, bearings & wheels at a killer price, didn't have to wonder what to get or look it up, he knew what I needed and stayed in budget no upselling just straight up good information.
Natasha Morrison: I went into the shop super nervous cause i have never been into a actual skate shop. i went in and everyone welcoming me with a huge smile! and helped me with what board to get! we was talking so much i didn’t get his name. but we was there for about two hours setting up my board and talking about stuff i could do if i wanted to make a little tweak! and gave me little tips to get started! so super helpful and super super kind! i had a great time!!
Corey Helton: Joe is the man. One of the coolest individuals to grace the planet. His expertise in all things skating will rock you! His wife and daughter are quite amazing too- head to his shop and get to know them!
Ron Fields: My son and I stopped in today with some questions, as he is a complete beginner. The shop owner (Joe?) was so awesome! He answered his questions and offered great advice, as well as some board tweaks. Though we live 25 miles away, this is going to be our local shop!
Joshua Engels: Amazing place! Dope atmosphere! The guy that runs the place is incredibly knowledgeable and one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Solid 10/10!
Rachael Dowling: Stopped in yesterday to have our son’s trucks adjusted… shop owner was legit amazing. It ended up being more work than we expected… and we’re so thankful! 10/10 would recommend.
Tyson Laughlin: Awesome place! Super sweet boards and I love kendamas. I got into longboarding 2 years ago after the first time I came here with my friend. The owner Joe is really nice and a super cool dude. I’ve got a landyachtz drop cat and I got my friend to get one too.
Fizz Sharkson: Awesome shop, Got some sick Loaded gloves. Goat skin 🐐Joe is an awesome dude. I asked a bunch of questions and he had all the knowledge. I see the longboard scene growing thanks to people like him. Now time to learn slides 😎🤙🏼
Mandy Bilbao: The place I belong
Elise Zeller: I went here yesterday and it was really good. The owner of the show was really nice and helped put grip on the deck, and helped pick out a good deck since my other one was wrecked. This place had just about everything that has to do with skateboards and it was just overall awesome. Deserves 5 starts fs.
Tyler Glenski: Best skate shop in KC area hands down. Joe helped my son pick out the perfect long board, answering questions for over an hour or more between our multiple visits. Definitely the skater vibe here with the best customer service I have seen in ANY industry. This is the spot to go like... seriously. Prices are amazing and competitive; also LOCAL business!! Like no freaking brainer shopping here if you are even remotely interested in skating! The product knowledge is off the charts, any question you have no matter how silly it might be, Joe answered it in a way anyone could understand. My son and I are super new to skating, and coming here we learned more than any youtube watch fest could teach us. For sure will return and recommend to everyone! Also by attending the STOKE clinic, where you can literally learn how to skate by people who have been skating for years, my son and I were immediately injected into a community of skaters upon moving to KC. The community here is amazing!
Braedon Enos: I’m in kc for work and I wanted to bring home a new board and being that I’m from northern Calabama I’m not super educated on the subject I just know 1 thing, I like to long board and that’s it. The owner is very passionate about what he does and I learned more in his store than I have in the last 2 years it was an all around top notch experience. I absolutely can not wait to go back.
Richard Lippert: Local spot for all of your longboarding needs! Joe is knowledgeable, fair on pricing, and super chill. He will help with any questions as well as get you stoked for your new set up. Free high-five with purchase! I highly recommend stopping in if you're on the market for a new set up!
Molly McAuliffe: My boyfriend and I love burning spider:)♡
James Sredl: Joe is the MAN. Such a great owner with a passion to not only do what he loves, but live what he loves. He has a great heart for teaching and the patience to explain anything enough times for you to get it. Bought two boards from him and couldn't be happier with our purchases. A Land Yacht surfskate for my daughter and a Land Yacht Drop Cat 38 for myself. Go see Joe you won't be disappointed!
Codiak Herrell: The owner is living his best life and is a great for the community. Support local when shopping! Great atmosphere
Luke Neal: Awesome as always Joe is the bomb

Independence Skate Park: what do users think?
John Stewart: Very nicely maintained skatepark. Literally no kids out there though, that was kind of depressing.
Nicole Gibbs: I love that they built this for the kids and young adults .
KNC2 “Carla”: Good síze skate park and wíthin walking dístance there is a park with a Walking trail/Creek/play equipment/picnic tables/bathrooms
Steven Berridge: If you have a skate board or bike.... It's a really nice skate park and you can go down the trail to the river and over to Hill Park... Across the bridge....
Jodi Bagwell: Well, it's a good place for skateboarders, very beautiful!! I used to want to get pictures done there. But, all the people who smoke there need to find somewhere else to go!!!!
Diamond Does: Fun
Melissa Munday: It was very trashed !!! Somebody or maybe lots of people have just dumped there trash out in the parking lot of the skate park !! 😞!!!
Ric Trent: Fun. It can be very slippery.
Chris Settle: 🤘
Mr. Boydston: Nice place for children to use playground. I just went for the ambiance with a picnic table.
ZANDER .exe_: Sketchy bowl but overall great
David Greer: Looks like youth has fun here its always got people there
Annette Rasmussen: Watching my nephew in a skating competition! He is an advanced skater and it's fun to watch him and the other skaters. Phenomenal talent--how do they do it??!!!!
weston bailey: Not a bad spot at all. Locals were very cool.
Nicole Gibbs (Nikki): Kid likes it so I take her. It's not too bad.
Lillie Knutter: Great place for the family
comback kid Caleb: Good park but not a place for first timers. Steep bowls but fun for people who've been doing it for a while.
Susan Bloom: They need stairs or someway to get out of the bowl. I'm not very good and accidentally kicked my board into it and had to have someone help get me and the board out because I couldn't climb out myself. Someone can easily get stuck in there. I do not recommend this park
Dan-O The Mad Scientist: Great spot, took my son to let him shred on his bike. Park was clean for the most part, typical graffiti...could use an artistic make over, but over all...great spotlo
Luke: Please don’t bring your kids under 8 here they are always in the way and they don’t listen when you tell them to move a skate park is for skateboarding not giant mountain bikes or scooter kids or for little kids
Kristene Forest: Open field areas for dogs (that's what I loved) alesso saw a fox once and have taken good pictures of my dog there

Crown Center Ice Terrace: what do users think?
Balaji Sivasubramanian: Amazing food.. Amazing fountains and places to walk around.
Clarissa Feldman: We didn't stay here, but will definitely plan to in the future. Lots of shopping and dinning places. Easy walking as have skywalks over busy streets. Can easily access downtown events.
Mariella Seton: Bring your patience with you. As a first time visitor, traffic mall signs would've been helpful. The parking lot was difficult to find. Roads that my GPS was telling me to take were closed. Drove around several times. This mall is not your typical mall. Get a map and parking validated from customer service.
Austin craft: It was crowded because of the festival going on this weekend but overall everything was great. Took the family to sea life and afterwards had lunch at Curry in a Hurry. Which was the highlight of my trip.
bilohf tv: A luxury shopping center
jpg archive: It's a neat, clean, modest-sized, very kid-friendly mall in an excellent location. My main complaint is: who thinks it's a great idea to close up at 6pm??? C'mon, people.
Max Steel: Been going there since I was a little kid love it!!!!
Martez Crain: Many places to stop and grab a bite to eat, or shop around. They had a fairytale exhibit for the kids and it was free. The kids had a blast.
Kassi Moore: I was expecting there to be more shops. I went there to get a souvenirs and walking the whole mall I was able to find only one thing. Not worth it in my opinion
Elisabeth Putman: Was there for the Hospital Hill Run
Frecky Lewis: I had to update my review after visiting Crown Center again last weekend with my family. I'm not sure if the owners of the mall know this, but in order to sell things your stores have to be OPEN. The stores in this mall all close at 6:00 pm on Saturday. We had just finished our dinner at Fritz's in the mall, and at 5:45 we walked over to their special "Fairytale" exhibit that was advertised as being open until 6:00. We found the door locked and couldn't get in. When another family came out through the door we poked our heads in and were told by the desk attendant "It's closed." I asked if the signs were wrong and pointed out that they said the exhibit was open until 6, and she said "No, the signs are right, but we stop letting people in before that." She had no hint of friendliness or sympathy for our two obviously very disappointed children. To the mall management: If you close your exhibit at 5:40, don't advertise that it is open until 6 -- or at least, advertise that fact clearly. Knowing the stores would be closing in 15 minutes, we wandered up to the toy store on the top floor and were told even before entering the store "Just so you know, we close soon." I assured them that we wouldn't take up any of their time by spending money there. We made a few quick passes down the aisle at 5:50 and it was clear that the employees had no interest in anything but shooing everyone out. Perhaps they could have said "We close shortly, but is there anything we can help you find quickly?" Nope. No interest in making sales. Amazingly, there were countless other families wandering around the mall and surrounding area at 6:15 looking for something to do, and I guarantee many of them would have spent money in these stores. People say retail is dying; after visiting Crown Center, I can attest that retail isn't just dying, it is committing suicide.
Norma Patterson: Crown Center is the perfect place to do your shopping. The selection of stores is great, the prices are competitive. Plus, the atmosphere is always welcoming.
Rosie Hudson: My kids loved playing at the fairytale village! It's all free to get in. There are so many shops and restaurants inside. It's like a mini mall. Definitely coming back soon.
DIY_Nation_TH: #diynationth
Salton: Some nice activity stations but they may need a little more assistance with each one from staff so it's more clear how they work.
shannon hudson: this place was so relaxing.. my friend and I really enjoyed ourselves. We got icecream inside and walked across the street and ate it by the fountains... it a very pretty place as well!!! We will be returning for another relaxing afternoon.
Chad Motter: It has some cool shops. Something for everyone.
Rachel Anderson: Gorgeous place located perfect with lots of fun places to visit. Kaleidoscope is free, sea life and Lego land are right there plus lots of food and shopping! Fairy tale land is free and lots of fun!
Lisa Laughlin: Lego Land and Aquarium were alot of fun. Kids enjoyed themselves. It was pretty crowded and the space was smaller then expected but overall fun. The Aquarium was beautiful and more peaceful. They had alot of great tanks.
Cody Fry: Love to just walk around and see what I find here you never now
Jason Stidham: Great shopping center

B&D South Skate Center: what do users think?
Toy Wirght: Amazing place, great customer services. Will recommend to all my family and friends. Very nice people . Will most definitely be returning. In taking skating lessons as well.
Danielle Scott: Hi, I'm a school student who used to go here and I love this place. They give you a free drink if you wear a school shirt on skate nights. I love what you guys did to the place and keep it up!
Nancy Miller: Would be an ok place but for a 2 hour skate session you might only get 45 mins of skate time because they do too much. You skate a song then it's limbo time. One more song and it's couples only, then red light green light, etc. They don't follow they're own rules. You can dress however, do whatever, I watched a girl take her kid on the floor in a stroller. I was waiting for that accident cause that was a fat law suit. Just sad the way this place is ran but my daughter likes to skate and I haven't found anywhere else yet.
Charleese BryantCharleese. Poor ougvv: We had a private party for my son 3rd birthday on 5/27/23. The staff was very friendly, and polite. Also if you’re looking to have an inexpensive party for kid(s) this is definitely the place and the private party package includes 50 skaters. For the price and the amount of guests, we couldn’t get a better price at Chucke cheese or any other place for kids. I promise you won’t be disappointed. They’ll also allow you to bring in outside food for your party for an additional $20. The package with the $20 for food is still under $300. Book them and enjoy. Will book more private events in the future. Michelle is who I booked with and she was awesome. Hope this helps someone with thinking of booking them. I’ll be telling my friends to book as well. Thank you guys so much for Saturday. 😉
Roxanna Thompson: I love this place.. And the family that is so thoughtful in sharing their glow sticks with my kiddos.. We will continue to come to this place, it's lots of family fun. 😁😁😁
Katrina Combs: Wonderful rink for kids, especially since they have they plastic baby skates to learn in...and I do love the floor! Great upgrades all around!!!
Verna Rice: Definitely would recommend this place. They've done a wonderful job with remodeling. It was so much fun when we went there for Sunday Funday!!! Definitely will be going back and we're planning on scheduling our granddaughters birthday there in November.
Michael C: We attended a roller derby match here and it was really fun!
Justin James: Great set of staff, they really have seemed to cleaned up the bad groups that were going there. It's not as busy as some of the rinks I've gone to but sometimes that's sought after.Place was pretty clean and maintained, bathrooms could use some work but nothing too bad.I would say it's very kid friendly and the music is a bit out of date but that might be due to the kid friendly nature.
Sean Fite: Completely refurbished, and it looks amazing! Family owned and operated. Very friendly!
Robin: Nice people that own or run the place. Cool blacklight effect. Fun games
Christinia Atchison: Lots of fun. Blast from the past every trip.
Kay Bee: I like it.
Debra Hall: The owners are very professional yet friendly and helpful and are very family-oriented. I was very impressed
Ray Emert: Saw Roller Derby for the first time! Lots of action. Good crowd!
Felix Hagers: Love skating there it’s so much fun and I live what they did with the place and everybody there is nice
Mikayla Moyer: It's an amazing place to roller skate has some amazing refs there always helping others and good food too!! 😊
Mrs.: Building is small
Taylor Williams: Management comes off very rude, especially the woman behind the counter. Safety is only a priority OFF the rink. They make sure you don’t wear hoods and metal detector check those who come in. However, it’s apparent that the children that they “employ” as the “skate monitors” are really just there to skate for free and flirt. I asked one of the monitors if he could be more worried about all the children skating the wrong way and he went and told on me lol. The female manager came over and rather than asking about the situation, she was hostile and rude raising her voice. I explained that I am worried about falling on a child because it’s a free-for-all on the rink. She eventually said she’d talk to the monitor - who was still flirting with some older girls that were there to skate.I continued to get frustrated with the lack of safety protocols on the rink and $10 for an hour of skating isn’t worth it. As we walked out the female manager glared at me and stuck her middle finger up. So trashy. Will not be going back. ✌🏼
Cynthia Robinson: Friendly staff, clean and inexpensive
D Ph: Good time. Kids had a blast

Winnwood Skate Center: what do users think?
Kamryn Gezidel: Came here for a kids birthday party and they wouldn’t/didn’t even turn on the air until almost 8pm on a SATURDAY . Everyone there was HOT & MISERABLE , majority of people just sat down . Unacceptable!!!
Artie Newell: Great place I would go again this place is good for ppl to learn how to skate
Hehehheheheheh Hop: The venue was very nice. The people that ran the business were very appable and professional.
Julian Grigsby: Great rink, music, people and energy.A whole vibe.
Blaise West: I love the lights and the music is great
Mila Baby: Had a great time with family and friends. They have good birthday package deals 👍🏼...
Olivia Rohlfing: Enjoyed skating and like they have a separate spot for the kids. Wish they had a hand rail around the rink though. Tried to rent a “walker” for kiddo and they told me they were out, yet there was only 2 on the rink floor.. A lot of the music they played was not appropriate for kids and we went on a Saturday mid day.
Whitney Buchmann: It's always fun to relive the skating rink days. They offer lessons on Saturday morning that my friends and I did for a bachelorette party. There is also a separate, smaller rink for the kids if they want a safe place to learn without getting run over. There is a concession stand and picnic tables to relax at between laps. It's a hidden gem (you have to know where you're going). Not a lot of signage.
Mikaila Livingston: Clean, lots of fun music. Lots of family's. Few games between 5 and 6:30 on a Saturday, but a dj was setting up.
corzet hall: I enjoy skating at Winnwood. I've not had any negative experiences worth complaining about!!! Although many seem to think this is a BAD PLACE to skate. I prefer to keep an open mind until I see differently.
Zahra Almoamin: Had fun taking the kiddos roller skating!
Jon Twibell: One of the best floors in town. Great staff. Clean and nicely updated.
Sherri Miller: It is a nice rink. But to much chaos on the floor. And not a good mix of music to skate to.
Journee: Cool skainting room
Leggs McGillicutty: Winwood is the go to family fun rink. Adult night could use a little more imagination. The DJs are getting stale with repeat Playlists you could practically predict the next song. I'll give Austin the props for the most original Playlist and crowd support. The staff is very friendly MY favorite is Judy she don't take s*** but won't give you none either. Bring your kids to skate classes on Saturdays at 10:30am. I have heard a few buzzing about the artistic instructor Amanda going into lackluster repetitive moves but I think she just doesn't want newbies feeling left out. All in all it is a very welcoming place for skaters.
Shallman Jordan: I LOVE THE LADIES
O'Brien 999: The best
Kynan Ramsey: Awesome it was fun I want to go back there again some time soon
Kenzie Brown: Very fun
Kozmo YT: Best stating place
Geraldine Sanchez: We are out-of-towners that needed a place to stretch the skating legs and burn some energy on a Saturday afternoon. The mini rink on the side is AWESOME. We did like the made to order concessions. The referee did a decent job on skate flow and resolving a skate walker confrontation for us. The bracelet/walker idea is GREAT. Great facility. Great look. Great employees. PERFECT price range. I can’t give 5 stars due to music choice on playlist/DJ. Salt N Pepa unedited is not what I want my 6 year old listing to.

River Roll Skate Center: what do users think?
Marcella Tice: We had a choice between Winnwood or River Roll, for the price we went with River Roll and I am so so glad we did. We booked a party for my daughters 6th birthday. I couldn’t be happier for River Roll’s staff and owner for making everything so comfortable and easy. They staff was so so helpful, very generous and so sweet. They have made this mama very happy and will definitely be back again!
Liz Hrusovsky: Our hostesses were super friendly and attentive and we had a great time. Thank you!!
Parker Games: i really like it. the hosts are very funny and nice and the people that go to there will not hesitate to help you if you need it.
Julie Young: Disclosure: review related to online purchase only. Last week I placed an order for a pair of roller skates that were clearly listed as in stock - and as a matter of fact, they are still listed as in stock. I never received any communication what so ever, and I discovered this evening that my order was cancelled when I reloaded the order page from my browser history. I also just received notice that my credit card has been compromised, which could be a coincidence, but the timing is suspect.
S. Lacombe: Clean place. Kids had fun.
Laura Rey: Awesome skating rink and great for parties. The only problem we had was my son couldn’t skate because they don’t carry size 16 men’s skates. Some kids don’t have small feet.
Mac Stands: Take my gkids (3) here frequently now, usually at other rinks and it's a 20 min drive but my gkids favorite rink now. Place is relatively clean especially in comparison with other rinks. My gkids only complaint is they don't play musical requests. I usually sit here during the night but trying to go relax and return when done next time. All in all nice place, little chaotic when busy. Really slow getting in but this is definitely the kids favorite, clean and safe.
Sarah Gower: Great place to go skating. Well kept up and reasonable pricing
ChesLea Allison: Overall, the place is nice. They have good icees. I fell once and didn't want to skate again, so I mainly just sat there for the few hours I was there. I got this cute little dolphin out of it, so that's that. My only complaint is that they didn't get around to playing anyone's song requests, even though only a few were requesting. Lastly, I think this place should play 80s and 90s music just to keep that nostalgia in.
Amanda B.: Wonderful experience. My daughter had the best birthday party. Everyone was very helpful. Thank you so much ☺️ ❤️
Cassie Cammisano: Honestly the best party our 8 year old has had! The glow room was so much fun for the kids and I loved the set up. It was minimal work on my part and the least stressed I’ve been throwing a party lol. Will definitely be back for another!
Olivia Rohlfing: Been here a couple times and prefer it to Winn wood. The staff is nice and they have plenty of walkers.
Cassie E: They refuse to serve you a cup of water at the concession stand unless you order from a specific party host. Other than that they will not serve free water. 🤔
Sondra Rose: Poor customer service
Pamla Singleton: It was a great place 4 a baby shower & ur kids & adults r included 4 skating along with pizza. Hoa much don't know. The kids had 2 hrs 2 enjoy themselves & eat.
Jessica Flynn: Tons of fun and reasonably priced!
Brittany Ryan: Great place to have a birthday party.
Treece1 Whit: Kids had fun.
Adrian B.: I’ve been to disco night on Wednesday twice. Very recently they got brand new rental skates! It’s great fun for a cold weekday evening and I’ll definitely come back.
Chad Highfill: It's a ton of fun. I skate rinks all over the Metro. Let me say this floor is by far the fastest. And great variety of music from current hip hop to old school 70s.
