Dusty Seifert: My family comes here a few times a year for crab leg night. Most of the time they are pretty good but every now and then they have an off night. Our favorite server is Sharon. We always try to get seated in her section if we can. She is awesome!

Delicious fish and shrimp served with heads and tails and all the body parts intact so be ready to do a little work when you eat here. Even the tortillas were real toasty and tasty. Not for the faint of heart but nothing good ever is this is honest down home style Mexican not your touristy prepackaged Tex Mex bull. Stick to your ribs good food.
Rex Morrison: I went to enjoy beef tamales with sauce, Refried Beans and Spanish rice. They only had 3 tamales on the buffet line and they were so dried and hard that they didn't even want to cut with a knife! The Beans and rice was ok,, but I never got a replacement for the tamales and they didn't have any sauce for them. The service on my drink was good and the place is very clean and sanitary. But $20.00 for that meal was and is totally ridiculous!

Sheryl P: Took my dad here for Father's Day. The food wasn't much different then what they have during the week except for crab legs, fried shrimp and bbq ribs that we saw. It's what they always have in the weekends. He had trouble getting crab out of shells so he only ate a couple and I didn't eat any. His rib was cold so he didn't eat that and we only had a couple of fried shrimp along with the items we usually get. I got the check and it was double what I usually pay for the two of us. They had put Father's Day buffet on it thinking that should justify the high price. My dad has been throwing up all afternoon. Not sure which of the items caused it. We will be trying out some other options after this.
John F: We enjoyed our first experience here. There was a large selection, and everything tasted good. Nice staff and comfortable atmosphere! The food was decent quality, but not great. Some dishes were too salty or bland, and others were not very fresh. However, the staff was super friendly and accommodating. They refilled our drinks promptly, cleared our plates quickly, and offered us extra napkins and sauces. The service made up for the average food. I give this place a 4 out of 5 stars.

HeIsMySpaceDad: This place is 100% my facorite comfort restaurant, here the food is always great and the tea is always perfect! I have never tried anything from this place and thought “wow that was bad” EVERYTHING IS GOOD . You can also really tell that the people running this restaurant really care about it a lot as you can see the love in the food, decor and the meticulous cleaning. This is an S teir restaurant for me!
Abigail Richardson: This is the best Buffett in KC and the staff/ owner are very sweet the food is soooooo bomb I highly recommend this place in 2023 the grill is my favorite for fresh food cooked in front of you. Devan Burton: Can’t go here anymore. Girl in the front has the worse attitude. She had baby hair and thick king fake eyelashes. Older man serving the food kept stopping to talk to another worker who wasn’t on the clock. Then he gave half of a spoon for every side. Chicken was dry. I waited for Mac & choose. It came out and I was already at the register to pay. So they added it to my plate. Got to the car, it looked nasty and watery. I tried it, I didn’t like it. So I went back and asked to replace it. The young woman at the register had a horrible attitude. Told me “it just came out, it needs to settle” ma’am I’m going to eat this now, I would rather have another side. She rolled her eyes, and shook her head with an attitude and threw the Mac and cheese away. She was extremely rude. Corn bread tasted different. I tried giving ya another chance but it’s a no from now on. This place used to be the best. Idk if it’s the cooks, or front staff. Need to make changes. Would love to have back the buffet. It’s very overpriced for the amount you’re getting.

Just Me: Edit 6-18-2023When we arrived today we were greeted by the unhappiest host I have ever encountered. While there were many tables open, servers standing around, two people behind the bar jacking around, and the dark haired girl with glasses that we presumed was the manager jacking around with them, we were told by Ms Happy that we couldn’t be seated because they had no help!! We waited for at least ten minutes, while the employees were staring at us and joking and talking amongst themselves. Meanwhile the hostess was literally organizing crayons. Yes crayons. This was at 3:30 today, there were only about 10 diners in the entire restaurant. When we were seated we waited another ten minutes for the server to even come to our table only to be advised of all the things that they were out of and for her to question us about if we were sure we wanted the drinks that we ordered as if she had better ideas. Then she asked us if we had ever even been there before. We have been to this restaurant and least 30 times and have spent thousands of dollars eating here. We finally just told Ms Happy Hostess to tell our waitress to cancel our drinks and left. As I have said in previous reviews the happy hour used to be the best, however it has had 65 percent of the original items removed from the happy hour menu and replaced with nothing. I have also said that the quality of the service has been in a steady decline. Today was atrocious.I am convinced that you should actually just shut your doors and save the company moneyBest Happy Hour menu in my opinion. Still love the food though I will say the service has gone down hill considerably since it opened a few years back.
Wendy Lythgoe: Been here several times. The happy hour is great. Brunch was a big let down though. Not sure why they are serving produce that is past it's prime. At Father's Day brunch we started with the fruit is good for you plate and the smoked tuna dip. The grapefruit and blueberries were sad. The blueberries were mushy and the sliced grapefruit looked shriveled and like it sat around way too long. The snowpeas that came with the tuna dip were limp, shriveled, and not crisp at all. The celery was not fresh and the cut ends were dried out and off color. The carrot, red bell pepper, and radish were ok though. It's just so disappointing and not consistent. How can I trust the oysters and other seafood to be fresh when the produce is not? My husband liked his fish sandwich and my vegetable omelette was good. Maybe today was an off day? It's usually very good.

James McGilley: The large oysters weren't large at all. The Steak Tartar had absolutely Zero Flavor, my grilled salmon was like a hockey puck. The only amazing tasting thing I ate was the Fried Calamari with the dipping sauce. My girlfriend paid the bill that was over $120.00, not including Tip. I would give it another try but expect much better attention to detail and not over cooked salmon.
T K: Great experience and service from staff and management, especially for someone who has a shellfish allergy. The manager made sure that the kitchen prepared my sandwich in a separate pan, and offered another option outside of fries due to it being cooked in the same oil as the shrimp. My burger was phenomenal and so was the wedge salad. The brûlée key lime pie is AMAZING along with the Cucumber Lemon Press!!

J. Barrett: UPDATED REVIEW, May 2023: HARD PASS. Where to start. This place has gone downhill and gone downhill fast! I don't know if it's lack of good help, or a combination of that + really poor quality food. I ate here three times, under duress, in a 48-hour period. Extremely slow service, poor attention to detail, and hit or miss food every single time! For a restaurant supposedly of this caliber, I had nothing more than a disappointing experience all three occasions. Four of us ordered the shrimp tacos, which I cannot tell you just how terrible they were with kids being able to read this review. They need a complete overhaul of the recipe and they need to toss that disgusting microwaved shrimp in the garbage! Everyone experienced hit or miss dishes, rather that be appetizers or actual main courses or specials. Some of them were tasty, others reflected overcooked swordfish and halibut. You cannot overcook these delicacies and expect your side dishes, which also need improvement, to make up for it. I don't know what's going on, and I especially don't know how they expect to regain trust from patrons, but something must change and must change now for this downtown Kansas City staple! Jack Nelson: Be aware that that the prices on the menu are not what you may be charged. I was charged more than the menu prices. After being overcharged, I spoke to the manager. She was quite rude, and she told me that it was too expensive to have to continuously make or change the menus so the prices on the menu are subject to change as they wish. Never been to a restaurant that can randomly charge what they want when the menu has prices on it. I have been eating here for over twenty years, so this is very disappointing. $38 for lunch for one person with water to drink

Exotic Neurotic: My experience was wonderful! I came in on a Saturday night around 4:30pm, and I was impressed with how swift, quick, and smooth the service was all evening. I had Juliette for a server, and since I was dining for one, I was able to see her consistency and attentiveness with the other patrons’ throughout my pleasant and peaceful experience. She was very warm and welcoming, and provided great recommendations and conversation. I ordered the curried chicken hot pot, as well as a hot & sour soup with a side of crab Rangoon’s and a Coconut Mojito, all were super delicious and I could tell quality is something of high value to the establishment. Definitely a 10/10 overall dinner and I will be back soon to try more of the drinks as well as the buffet! 🍜
