Caleb W: Great selection of meats and seafood. Fair pricing and friendly staff. Has the small town market feel. Lots of barbecue seasonings and rubs as well as wood and charcoal.
JAMES TALMADGE: don't buy their bacon wrapped filets you get more connective tissue than meat and the "steaks" all came in at least 3 pieces I was purchasing steaks not stew meat. will not be shopping there again.
cheryl horan: It's the first time I've been into Fareway meat market since it was McGonigles. I was there to buy cod at the meat counter. A man asked if he could help me. I told him I would like to buy some cod so we both went over to the fish counter. He didn't ask how much I wanted so I just told him what I would like. He very impatiently weighed out the fish and wrapped it. He then proceeded to basically throw it across the counter. I complained to the manager about the treatment I received and his excuse was, "we're busy." I said that's not a good excuse. Not good enough. I'll think twice about coming back into that store!

I was missing him so much that I thought this would make me less home sick for my Father's grilling. I was absolutely dead wrong.I also purchased a couple bacon wrapped sirloin and they were delicious. Great cuts of meat and I love the toothpick they use to secure the bacon. We tried the steakhouse bacon wrapped pinwheels, they were good. We purchased a couple of the spinach pinwheel and going to try those tonight.

Joe Ketcherside: Took the charcuterie class and loved it. Two hours, you learn to make sausage, rubbed bacons, and brined ham. Went home with a huge sausage to smoke, a nice chunk of brined ham, and a couple packages of bacon. Very interesting to learn the process - Jordan the head butcher is a great teacher. You know the old line about where the sausage is made - well here you get to both see and do it. I've been buying meat here for years and the people are always great. By the way, the brined pork chops are the best on earth.

I did the sausage making class with my boyfriend then went back with my group of girlfriends for their butchering class. Jordan, Local Pig's instructor, is truly the best. He is so patient and knowledgeable. Answers all of our questions and laughs at our silly jokes. He's a true treasure and a great addition to Local Pig. Liyi F: The charcuterie class was great! It seems like the limit is about 10 students in a session which was a good size. The space was a little small, but it's clearly a working kitchen. Everyone got a chance to participate if they wanted to. We didn't take home all the stuff we helped with, but got variations of already-prepped options instead.You don't do all the steps yourself but help out with different steps of different products. Brining ham, making the cures for the bacon/pork belly, and preparing and stuffing the sausages were all included. The head butcher, Jordan, was great at answering our questions and everyone had a chance to try steps.When I signed up for the class online it was about $85 which includes the class, lunch from Pigwich and drinks, and you walk away with about $30 worth of meat a person, if not more. Worth it!
Ty: Local Pig is awesome. Big selection of locally sourced meats and a ton of other foods (and even drinks) that represent Kansas City very well. Would highly recommend taking one of their classes. I was able to take the sausage making class with Jordan and had an awesome experience. Informative, hands on and took away a ton from the class, including a bundle of top tier sausage.

I tried your breakfast burrito and holy cow Batman, definitely the best breakfast burrito I've ever eaten. It was fresh, flavorful, just the right mix of egg sausage cheese and a hint of salsa. Just a tad crispy but the ingredients inside remained moist and delicious. Seriously I didn't know a breakfast burrito could be that good. Going to have to come back and try the rest of the menu!

We normally are not sirloin steak fans, and we get the bone in sirloin almost every single time we go, the qualityof meat is spot on, never a tough cut and just the right amount of fat. They also have some of the freshest pork rinds around and perfect fall off the bone ribs! I also enjoy coming for the quesadillas and street tacos. They are so cheesey, more than enough to share, and so many great meat options! This is only on Saturdays for lunch, but it's worth the trip over there!

Bon-die Fortner: I tried the Izabella (chicken sandwich) with the regular style thigh. The chicken was very tasty and pretty large. The profile of the sandwich was definitely picture-worthy. The potatoes were also delicious (not a "French fry" fyi).The bread fell apart with every bite which made for a messy experience and most of the bread left on the plate. Parking was also a minor inconvenience.All said though, it was a solid 4 🌟 star experience.

K K: This place has a lot going for it. First off, menu simplicity. My experience is the best restaurants have the smallest menus. If you stay small you can perfect and focus on what you do well. This place definitely does that. Also, this is a weird one, but the night I went, they were out of the rotisserie chicken. This is a positive to me. See, good stuff is usually in short supply, if a restaurant never runs out of an item, I tend to think they over prepare which means i wonder every time I order, if this is really the freshest??? So the chicken wings here were perfectly crispy and the sauce had the perfect amount of sweetness to it. The chicken tenders are great, taste good and a reasonable portion. The cheesy mashed potatoes that come with the tenders are great also. My 9 year old ordered the fried catfish, and gave it rave reviews along with the sauces provided. Something to add that won’t be your experience necessarily but my son has ASD , this place did not leave him feeling overstimulated or overcrowded. The casual feel to quality food ratio was perfect. The only con my son had was the soft drinks are sold by the can and he didn’t like being limited without refills.All that aside, this place does chicken very very good. The service was great, the servers knew the menu well and did great recommendations. They have a good balanced drink menu as well. You can use the parking garage to the west, although it seems like a tight fight most suvs will fit. Don’t miss out on a quality meal for a good price.

Sous vide for 2.5 hours at 135°, seared on the grill, topped with a garlic herb compound butter as they rest, then sliced thin at an angle. They were soooo tender! We paired the steaks with a wonderful mac and cheese (Irish aged cheddar and smoked gouda 🔥🔥🔥) and parmesan crusted asparagus, along with a nice cabernet.

Jake Talbott: The best barbeque in KC?? Maybe it is other days, but not the day we visited. It was overpriced, mediocre food at best. Ribs were dry and didn't have much flavor. I don't know what they did to the pulled pork, but it did not have a good taste (how do you mess up a bbq staple?). They gave us a huge helping of overcooked, soggy fries. When I asked if they had a "sampler" the guy looked at me like I was crazy. I've never been to a bbq place that doesn't want you to try all their meats. Strange. "Vintage" is one thing, but this place is dingy and rundown. It has potential charm and character, but it doesn't seem like ownership and the employees value a good customer experience. Overall, I was excited to try this place, but I left extremely disappointed. I wish it had been a better experience.
Heather Adcox: Super disappointed. The brisket look like overcooked fatty roast beef. It was clearly cooked in oven not the smoker. The meat was tough and not falling apart as a low and slow smoker cooks. They were running out of product and tried to get something to put on the plate. Onion rings were cold and clumped together. Beans had great flavor, but were thick. I guess coming an hour before close was a bad idea, but you’re only as good as your last dish. The smell and atmosphere far exceeded the product. I don’t think Arthur would be happy.
Alex Roebelen: Got there around 11AM, no line. Ordered 3B sandwiches and a side of ribs.Burnt ends were dreadful. Overcooked and super chewy. Ambience was good but service consisted of staff asking same questions over and over and then getting our order wrong anyway.Wouldn't recommend and I guess the place is going downhill considering the past reputation.

Gary Stump: This was my favorite BBQ Place in KC for over 50 years, but lately it's gone down hill, then last Friday June 16th 2023 was my wife and I 45 wedding anniversary, we decided to have Brants BBQ, now mind you it's a Friday night at 730 pm and also fathers day weekend I walk in and immediately I hear cash only and all we have is pulled pork, then one guy behind the counter had the nerve to tell us we got there to late!!! Now that got me, I turned to them and said No you close to early, so we took our business somewhere else, and might I add that the BBQ there was just as good! Looks like they might have lost a 50+ year customer, sad to say but it would not surprise me to drive by Bryant's some day and see it closed permanently. 6 16 2023 the day Bryant's died in my book.

John F: I had a fantastic time at Arthur Bryant's Barbeque, one of the most famous barbecue restaurants in the country. The restaurant has a long history of serving delicious smoked meats and sauces since 1908, and has attracted many celebrities and presidents over the years. I visited the original location at 1727 Brooklyn Avenue, which has a simple and rustic decor, but a warm and welcoming vibe. The staff was courteous and efficient, and the portions were generous and affordable. I ordered the burnt ends sandwich, which is a specialty of the restaurant. It was amazing, with crispy and tender pieces of brisket, smothered with Arthur Bryant's original sauce, which has a tangy and spicy flavor. The sandwich was served on white bread, which soaked up the sauce and juices. It was one of the best barbecue sandwiches I have ever had. I also tried the ribs, which were meaty and smoky, with a nice crust and rub. The ribs were served with a choice of sides, and I chose the potato salad and the baked beans. The potato salad was creamy and flavorful, with chunks of potatoes and eggs. The baked beans were sweet and savory, with bits of bacon and onion. Both sides were very tasty and complemented the ribs well. I was very satisfied with my meal at Arthur Bryant's Barbeque. This is not just a restaurant, this is a legend. I highly recommend Arthur Bryant's to anyone who wants to taste the best of Kansas City barbecue.

The ladies at the counter said well the burger here is better an for the little difference if I was you I'd buy this one (cause they sell 2 different meats)but it's your choice.I'm not impressed with you're putting pressure on ppl who come in. Are you saying your other hamburger is no good? I find your burger wasn't as good as ppl say for the High High High Prices. I have found a much cheaper place with great quality an won't be returning to this place.

Daniel M: This was a good place for lunch. We received service quickly and with some playful banter. We got the ribs and burnt ends dinners. The bread, fries, and coleslaw were normal and typical for a KC bbq joint. The beans, however, were unexpectedly special... I think they had lots of green peppers to give it a nice flavor. I really enjoyed those. The ribs and burnt ends were good and bountiful. I would not say they are the best I've had in KC, but they are good for KC bbq. 👍The portions, good flavors, and friendly staff make this an easy recommendation from me. Go have a plate! Don't forget to ask to try the spicy sauce!

Metal: I sent my wife in to get a sampler platter which at most places has different meats, like a couple of ribs, a couple different other meats that you can try, maybe some burn and stuff like that. She even told the lady that we wanted something like that because we never tried this place. She was a very nice lady but there's no way in hell I would have ordered one sandwich for five people for 19 dollars. I don't know maybe she gave us the wrong order.
