Mikala Gardner: Incredible. Best meal I've had in awhile. So unique, everything you get will blow your mind. The ribeye was so tender and juicy. Perfection. This is a must go in KC. Aaron Wong: I’ve been wanting to try this spot for a while now and so glad I got the chance. A buddy of mine brought me here for my birthday and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in Kansas City. It was a Monday night and we didn’t have a reservation, so the host sat us up at the bar. Really not even worth mentioning except it was at the very end right next to the service well so it was a little distracting at times. The menu is New American/Italian/Asian fusion. We took recommendations from our server who may have been the floor manager. She helped us navigate the menu and we ended up ordering seaweed doughnut and crispy pork ribs to start. The seaweed doughnuts were decadent, think savory beignets with hint of seaweed smeared with a trout roe crema. The flavors of the crispy pork ribs heavily reminded me of a Vietnamese dish, bun cha. Next we had spicy strozzapretti and XO fried rice. The strozzapretti definitely stole the show, both of our favorite for the night. So much so we ordered a second. We still had a little room after so we asked for another suggestion and landed on the mushroom burger. It wasn’t a patty like I had expected, but more akin to a mushroom sloppy joe. That being said it did not disappoint the taste buds. Needless to say I’ll be back with the wife and friends in tow so I can try more phenomenal offerings from this menu.

I felt the portions were small. The thing that was so disappointing was that I chose the place based on a live music performance. There is one table directly behind a beam with nearly total obstructed viewing. Of course, that's where we were seated. I was so excited to try a good, albeit expensive, place and enjoy a show. I had reservations and everything. I couldn't enjoy the show I came to see. There was no forewarning or acknowledgement of the situation. I didn't bring it up because all the other tables were full and reseating wouldn't have been possible. If I would have known, I wouldn't have gone.

zhuoxin wang: I made reservations long time ago at tasting room for my bf birthday. I left note when I made the reservation. And told them the moment I step in. nothing special for his birthday. And the picture is a small bouquet I paid for 75 plus service fee and taxes. This place is way over priced. And the girl server give me a feeling that she doesn’t even want to serve our table even they charged 100 service fees. Final bill is $620 for two ppl not worth it at all. I rather use the money to other fine dining at least they give me a sparkle candle for birthday. bad experience. Won’t come back

Had a great drink before our table was ready, asked server for another prepared the same way. He looked confused, we told him which bartender made it and what was different. He didn’t take the time, so the drink wasn’t what I wanted. Food was good, although would have been nice having some semblance of a three course meal if the food came out the way the menu is organized. Sourdough bread, should not come out last. Megan Anderson: One of my favorite restaurants in Kansas City! If you are a foodie as we are, you will certainly find dishes unlike anything you have had before. We leave every time excited about numerous dishes and trying things we never would have considered. For example, SWEETBREADS, they make them absolutely divine. I love that everyday we walk through the doors that the menu is brand new and inventive! We love sitting at the bar near the kitchen so we can watch everyone channel their creative skills. A must try!

The dishes are seasonal, so you may not get something you had before. We ordered one of everything and split it. They put their touch on every dish, and it is delicious. Jessica Hazlett: I went in not knowing what to expect, so I was very worried when I found out it was a family-style serving situation, especially considering the small dishes I'd seen in reviews. Sharing the small (delicious) dishes among 4 people definitely left us wanting more, but by the end of the last course I was full. Not overstuffed, not too full to walk, but satisfied, which I very much prefer. I loved it, but if I were to go back, I would probably stick with a party of 2 instead of 4.

Darrell Loo: The Antler Room is my favorite restaurant in town, and as always, my recent visit on Thursday didn't disappoint. I had just returned to town and was eager to relax in a comfortable atmosphere. Settling at the bar with a delightful glass of wine, I perused the seasonal menu with anticipation.My meal began with the irresistible Nori Shokupan, a must-have staple whenever I spot it on the menu. I continued with the Romanesco dish, featuring golden hummus, anchovy brown butter, crispy chickpeas, and anchovies. This flavorful dish showcased fresh, delectable vegetables. Another standout was the Cucumber dish with smoked salmavocado, tahini sauce, and buckwheat lavosh in a rose vinaigrette. This simple, refreshing dish was beautifully balanced by the vinaigrette.Next, I savored the Pan-Roasted Veal Sweetbreads, accompanied by beef tallow whipped potatoes, endive, white wine mustard sauce, croutons, capers, and rosemary. This hearty, comforting dish was a delight. I also enjoyed the Seared Duck Breast, served with fried sunchokes, local spinach, ravigote, and umeaboshi plum jus. The duck was cooked to perfection, and the sweet umeaboshi plum jus perfectly complemented the dish.To conclude my meal, I couldn't resist the Coconut Panna Cotta with pandan ice cream, mango sauce, and caramel tuille. This light, refreshing dessert, reminiscent of spring, provided the ideal ending to my dining experience.
Warda Shafi: I always prefer better quality food in small plates over mediocre food piled on the plates. I had the haddock with bok choy, sushi rice, caviar, and mushrooms. The dish was a little soupy, always a plus for me since I'm a huge soup fan. The food was delicious and looked wonderful, and I could tell the ingredients were of high quality, always a delight. This was a hearty meal, all the while very light on the stomach.

We were waited on by an extremely knowledgeable sommelier who not only gave great notes about the wines we tasted, but told us stories about the specific vineyards, their histories, influences, and production techniques. He took the time to understand our tastes and suggested incredible wines to try. It was a masterclass in wine education and a wonderful, personalized experience. Bravo!

Patrick Walker: A nice, updated take on the typical schnitzel and sausage fare you typically find in German restaurants. The brat trio was delicately flavored and nicely sauced. Preferable to the seafood risotto dish, which was competently executed, but nothing beyond what you’d find in another good local restaurant. The Painted Table dessert was remarkable in sweet flavors and in flame-illuminated presentation. Truly unique.

Brit Ann: Truly a treat to go to Affare. You definitely don't get the chain vibe from this place that even some of the more high end places give off around KC which is nice. Service was amazing and the food was great. High quality ingredients with mixtures of flavors that you don't expect and they still somehow taste amazing together. We got the Hummer Poutine, Risotto von Meeresfruchten, and Jakobsmuscheln mit Entenleber. It all was so good - loved the seafood. I'd probably go for a lighter starter next time but we were curious about lobster poutine.

Woodsie Woods: First time and it was great. Ordered off their new seasonal “white asparagus” menu. The white asparagus soup had a nice deep flavor but was a tad too salty. I was very excited to see morel mushrooms on the menu with the white asparagus and morel mushroom spatzle. This dish had a nice sherry cream sauce, however it overpowered the delicate flavor of the morel mushrooms. Overall pleased with the quality, especially with these recipes being a fairly new addition.
Racheal Soendker: Truly one of the best restaurants in KC. Make a reservation to ensure you can be seated. Especially on the weekends. This is not a place to go if you are I'm a rush. They know how to time the dishes so you are sure to be finished with appetizers before the next course is brought out. They give you time to enjoy each course. If you choose to do a bottle of wine, the server is good about coming back to pour it timely. And the food is amazing. If you can, make sure you get there in the spring for the white asparagus menu. I've been there multiple times and have never been disappointed.

Julianne Rabal: This was my first visit to any Capital Grille location. I was celebrating a college graduation with high hopes of having a great experience with my family. Unfortunately that was not the case. We had to wait 45 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. The food was decent, however our server was extremely rude and had an awful attitude the entire evening really spoiling our night. Adam Kramer: This is the best homestyle Italian food in KC. We debate this with friends all the time, but please go here. Their eggplant parmigiana is the best in the city, maybe even that we’ve ever had. Amazing meatballs and their goat cheese and marina appetizer is fantastic. Both were excellent. I had the KC strip for my main course and it did not disappoint. It was served with the best carrots I've ever had and I'm typically indifferent about carrots. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!
