Metropolitan Community College: what do users think?
S. Frida: Learn so much there. Love this school
Bridgett “B” Moore: It has been a good experience with mcckc but I just get very frustrated when I can never get into my accounts and it makes me late on my work like last semester. I was at a 3.6 gpa and because of communication issues I'm down to a 3.0 bc 2 classes got failed 😢
Terance Williams: Caring Giving & supporting the arts has always been a passion of mine. So I decided to take it to another level. Creating this scholarship is more than words... #PoetsEdu
John John: The students of the radiology program were completely let down by the staff and instructors of their program. These students who've invested thousands of dollars and thousand of hours of arduous study only to be made indifferent by the MCC radiology personnel. Things have turned into such a bad state, the entire student body have been contemplating hiring attorneys to address their situation. Until they take corrective measures and do right by their students I would advise anyone thinking of enrolling in their radiology program to think carefully before doing so.
Olivia: The high school program is horrible! They pick and choose which students they want to be successful and drive the students they don't like out the door. Worst mistake I've made for my son was going to the school. None of my kids will enter this building again! I have 1 star because I had to, it really deserves negative stars.
Adam C Johnson: I had an excellent experience, in particular at the Longview branch of MCC. I took 10 classes and obtained my associates degree there. The professors were impressively credentialed and overall great teachers. I liked that there were a number of other non-traditional students as well. Definitely recommended especially if you're returning after a hiatus like myself.
Matthew Wiseman: Had one of the worst interview experiences of my life here. These people are extremely disorganized for starters. They told me they would send me questions prior to the interview so I could prepare, and then send them only 3 minutes prior. I didn't even have time to look over them prior to logging into Zoom! The lady leading the interview team insulted me by insinuated that I was uncultured because I only know one language. After that, I withdrew my name from consideration. You'd do well to avoid this place, and I wish I would have read the other reviews before applying. My mistake. Don't do what I did and waste your time here!
Kyle Larsen: It is impossible to get a hold of anyone willing to help you I've called and left messages for the past month and have not received a call back or any update. If you're a veteran using your GI Bill good luck the college implies its vet friendly but don't seem very willing to work with you.
c. c.: This is my very first negative review that I have ever done. I would rate it a zero if I could. The schools book store gets me angry. I spent 5+ hours to get a book that they or I misplaced only to be told coldly to rebuy it. I than rebuyed it after debating to just drop this class(my school was going to charge me 427 dollars to drop the class due to scams that have happened(my acedimic advisor talked me into taking this class even though I said I did not want to. He did it by saying I could drop it in the first week) ). I than was told that digital books in the bookstore are down for 48 hours.
Brittney Cummings: Pay attention to what you are enrolling in. They will drop classes and not allow you to complete the degree that you have paid for. I was down to 3 classes that i needed for a degree that i was enrolled in and they dropped the degree all together. I spent a year reaching out to every educator, director, and dean i could manage only to be given false promises over and over. 7k down the drain for no reason. The worst part was is the only reason i enrolled in the degree was because i wanted the 3 classes that they dropped but was told i had to take 4 classes as prerequisites. I took the classes spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours over 2 semesters to be screwed over.
Darin Griffin Jr: I enrolled for one semester and I absolutely hated it. They will do anything to get your money out of your pockets. The bookstore is a complete scam and teachers will have you purchase books you will never touch. There are some decent professors but most of them are crooks too. They talk and teach like a robot and expect you to do your overwhelming assginments. It's a big headache to figure any problem out that you might have and need help with.
Kelly Woods: The bookstore is a scam.
katie parrish: Cold classrooms
hector robles: Muy buen lugar y servicio
Urena F: I wouldn’t not recommend this college to my worthiest enemy. Clueless Advisor want you to take unnecessary classes, top of that I received two F from this school. However, when I m transfer into different college I get A and B . The quality of those “ professors “ is highly questionable knowing how to teach human students, instead they thinking they teaching a robot.
Lindsey Blake: Professionalism does not take place at this school. I had my enrollment messed up more than once and had extreme issues with a couple teachers not ever responding nor grading.
Anthony VanDusen (OMGITSPANCAKES): They taught me soccer, and not basketball. Unacceptable
jacqueline gay: So the finance department or the business office downtown somewhere is the worst they will not speak to me they took my money and I am getting ready to go and post this on every social media that I can today when I get off work. And I'm going to go live
Stovetop Zombie: For your kid's sake, do not send them to this school. I get the appeal of a cheaper community to achieve an associates degree and a bridge to a 4 year institution, but this is not the school for that. Their staff will make graduation and transfer as difficult as possible. If you feel you have to go there, record everything they say. I would say, get everything in email, but you can send dozens of emails to their advisers and they will not respond. At my time there I had an adviser refuse to change my degree, then give me the incorrect courses for that degree, had an adviser tell me to drop several courses because I didn't need it for then degree, then not let me re-enroll in those courses when it turned out I did, was told a Chemistry course transferred to complete my degree both before and after the transfer, then after a misleading email stating "Congratulations you met the requirements to walk at graduation!" and several phone calls telling me my degree was in the mail, was told it didn't transfer and I couldn't graduate. These are only a few issues that occurred with me, and I had several friends and family members experience the same sort of problem.I don't want the same treatment I went through to occur to future students. Please take your education to a place that cares instead.
Cassandra: This college is runs by groups of Moran and crocks thefts. Favoritisms in student is a undercover issue( not to mean for the really hard working student) students whom only show up twice at the entire maths semester course will passes and get an A ) what you looks and how deep is your pockets that’s how they decide who is get an A. Professor will make you punches the $167 dollars of textbooks, without use it though the whole semester. homework are now online everything else are online. Academic Adviser are jokes, asking them the transfer questions she rolls her eyes on you. Better to advise myself. My recommendation is to anyone who like to play dirty (money) and don’t really want to learned, please enroll to this college.
Reneé Rooks: They're always willing to help you get things in order so you can be enrolled and attend

Sumner Academy of Arts & Science: what do users think?
Kristall Pruitt: Attended the last orchestra concert for my Godsister JaKayla R. Brown and she received honors!!! So proud of her
Thrain: While I do go to this school, and have made some friends, it overall has destroyed my mental health. I have had mental breakdowns, panic attacks, anxiety attacks, etc. My family, and other people who don't go to Sumner are always confused as to why Sumner has so many days off, or days we don't go to school. Here's your reason, it's to basically give their students a break from work; which I personally am grateful for. The friends and (most, not all) teachers are nice. In this school I have made more friends here than I have in my entire life. There are other people who are like me here! I was used to being alone, an "outcast" if you will, so to find other people who are like me make me happy; which is why this isn't getting a one star, but a two.
camis romero: Miss K an opp frshes a speech teacher and she played a speech a student didnt feel comfortable playing in front of the class and she didn't care.tell her to teach something else she an L and cant teach right
Caleb Colston (Blue Steel): It's pretty stressful at Sumner, sure, but it's for good reason. My mental state is absolutely dead but as I said it's for good reason. The school is supposed to prepare you better for life after high school, and it's worked so far.
CHKN PCKLE: This is a terrible school that doesn't take care of their students, worst time of my life, my mental state dropped drastically going there. Sumner barely deserves even one star.
Jazelyn Luna: Most miserable years of my life 😳. Ignore whatever they tell you about it's reputation. I hate it so much here
Daniel Flores: I unfortunately didn’t make it but it’s worthy of 5 stars
Corie Heard: Great School 👍 Great Staff!
Lexi 913: Best years of my life! Prepared me so much for college! The teachers from class of 2011 cared so much about us ❤️
Lisa Smith: Awesome school!
Rhonda Hill: Students are Very successful when they graduate from here
Hannah Remick: I personal went to Sumner Academy of Arts and Science and they teachers care about their students, they want each student to succeed and achieve your goals.
Reginald Custard ll: My daughter go to this fine school...
Alexander Aguirre: Sumner is focused on quantity of work more then quality of work. That is never a good thing. Nice community though, I've never felt as if I wasn't welcome. With most of USD 500 being unwelcoming to me, this was a nice change.
Quin Hall: wow cool school lol
Camo GlowGang: its a good school for smart people that is really smart
AJ Morgan: My son was well prepared for college and life due in large part to what he learned at this school.
D.S. Holland: A good school with tons of potential. However, Sumner has a ways to go. I am a senior this year, and my experience with Sumner has been that it focuses more on grades than the quality education of its students. Of course, just like any school, there are good and bad teachers, and good and bad classes. Yet the problems at Sumner extend far past the classroom. The traditional way of teaching, of taking a class of 30 individuals and teaching to the average student, leaving a third of the class behind and another third bored out of their minds, is not an efficient way of teaching. It is NOT a good school for all learning styles. It only suits the organized, traditional learner.Yes, Sumner is a vigorous school with strong curriculum. However, according to the Kansas Dept. of Education, Sumner has maintained an average ACT score of 21 or 22 for the past 6 years (which is about the National average), some years falling below the State Average. This is because Sumner has virtually no ACT preparation classes, workshops, tutoring, etc. There is a no late work policy as well that states any late work will be a "zero" (will receive zero credit). In the world of progressive academics, this is considered ludicrous because a failing grade is being assigned to a paper that the teacher never saw. It could be the most well written, powerful, organized paper in the school, but if it's turned in 5 minutes late, it doesn't matter. The student receives zero credit. This policy does not encourage excellence in the classroom, it encourages obedience and compliance. It is more important to turn in completed work than to turn in quality work.Furthermore, the school was recently rated in the top 100 high schools in America in terms of College Preparedness. This ranking is assigned by the ratio of students who take higher level classes (IB or AP) to the percentage who graduate. For Sumner, the ratio is 1:1. Every student is required to take 2 IB classes: IBH English and one other. This forces students to take the IB exams at the end of the year. Exams that are scored across the world. Your score on them determines whether or not you...Well, nothing really. You receive the scores the summer AFTER you graduate, AFTER you have already been accepted to College. AFTER you receive the last of your scholarship information. The IB scores are only valuable IF you take all IB classes (At least: 3 higher level IB courses, 3 standard level IB courses, and Theory of Knowledge). This is called "Full IB" and will earn you an "IB Diploma" if a student passes all classes AND receives a sum of 24 or greater on their 7 IB tests.(Tests are scored on a scale of 0-7, 0 being worst and 7 being best. The average score varies from class to class, but a good estimate for Sumner is a 3 or 4 average. This, compared to other IB schools in the area, is somewhat lackluster to their 5 average). This diploma makes for a nice centerpiece on your office wall, considering it doesn't help with your degree. Now, don't take this all the wrong way. Sumner is a good school. The students are encouraging towards one another and there's a home for every student, whether it be in theatre or choir, sports or cheer, magic the gathering clubs or art, there's a place for everyone. There are some simply outstanding teachers who relate well with the students. Everyone 9th-12th grade receives a MacBook Air laptop to use throughout the school year (as does the rest of USD 500). There's tutoring available most days and it's not hard to make good friends. However, at the same time, Sumner has a ways to go. There is so much potential bottled up in this school. It's just been hard unleashing it. I would encourage everyone to come to Sumner if given the opportunity.Unless, that is, you have a learning style that is very different from most students. In that case, be prepared, because without an IEP (for "Gifted Students" only) or a 504 Plan (A government disability form), very few teachers will work with you to try and accommodate for your learning style. The best of luck,Daniel
Melissa Faught: High hopes
Laura Flores: I'm currently a Senior at Sumner Academy. I did not take the Full IB Diploma opportunity but I took 3-4 classes of IB classes each year for Junior and Senior year. It is an excellent school for any student, with any learning style. There is tutoring provided for students almost everyday after school and plenty ways to become involved, sports, clubs, etc. Teachers are very open to students who need help and change their teaching styles to that of the students. Sumner is a great school for anyone who likes challenge! It's ranked #1 in the State of Kansas for college preparatory schools and around #67 in the US. You cannot go wrong with going here for high school!

UMKC School of Education: what do users think?
David Eaton: Education at it's best
Joseph Gilligan: The building can be kind of depressing because it has a lot of technology and innovational elements and a lot of intentional interior design like observation classrooms where you can imagine a group of students watching someone else teach as part of their training but ultimately it's kind of sad because all these things are outdated and many of them not in use anymore money is being put towards training engineers and pharmacists instead of teachers it seems when looking at this building.

University Academy: what do users think?
India White: It's a race war inside the school....
Jim Rusconi: Great school....great staff
Gene'e Mustin: Sending my children to University Academy has to be the worst decision I’ve ever made academically for my children’s needs. If your child has any disability (learning or behavioral) please find another school. The curriculum is impossible. The communication is terrible. They made me get my 6 year old son diagnosed & medicated, just to keep denying him an IEP. They finally gave him a 504 plan at the end of the year with 2 months of school left. They already made him repeat kindergarten at the start of the year and now aren’t promoting him again. It’s been a very stressful year. They are holding kids back based off of attendance and not passing core classes with a 3 or 4. I feel this school only cares about their reputation and not the children. They only want children at their school that can keep their name prospering. My daughter is very smart and struggled keeping up there. They want to retain her also, not caring of the ridicule she will endure. She was overwhelmed and at least 2 of her teachers were fired or quit during the school year (very inconsistent). I’ve decided to remove them as a result. (2021-2022 school year). Oh and if your student is an athlete, they won’t be able to play unless they maintain their grades weekly! Never have I ever seen anything like this which is why I say they only care about how they look publicly. Athletic department is trash. The middle school principle is unapproachable and her attitude is displayed consistently on her face.
Kenneth Thomas: Right now I have two of my sons that go there I had a one son who graduated and several family members that also attend and have graduated I'm very great place for child education!!!!
Rochelle Owens: I have one son that graduated and another currently enrolled. My sons' current teacher is the BOMB! I see his gains daily and I know that it is her hard work that has made a huge difference. Great school with committed and intelligent teachers. The school provides extracurricular activities not usually afforded to urban students. I LOVE this school community!
DSnail: Been going to school here since '06 and recently graduated, what i loved about the school was the staff as they were there when you needed them, and everyone is friendly also the place is a k-12 school with the high school in the back and lowest floor from the main entrance. If you send your kids here know the school will push and i mean push the children to be their best. This school was also built in '05 and opened its doors in '06 the school might lack in some areas like the social department with students but thrives academically so there may be some tensions between certain staff and students as humans be likeJust never give up, you can make it through this maze of education and life.Have a great 2021 everyone-Class of 2020 Grad
shelby Savage: You stand for the national anthem... That was disrespectful to our country and our school..... Cardinals deserved better then what they was shown....
Poo Bear: University Acedemy is a mini prison/ highschool wrapped up in 1. The school is very unorganized and quick to punish our children. I'm very disappointed in the staff, lunch is horrible, unorganized, harsh punishments for our children with no grounds to stand on. I would give University Acedemy a 0 but then I could not post my comment.
Miya Harris: This school is great and I go to this school
Sasha Parker: The way that they handle social issues among the students is terrible.
T HIL: Some of the staff and teachers are terrible.
Kevin Tipton: Wonderful School. Polite Students. Friendly & Professional Staff. Great Security. Awesome Facility
Sunni F: Awesome School.. Until your child gets into the middle school then it seems like things change with the Adminstration.
Erika Woodard: This school is academically sound but lacks tremendously in its ability to properly handle social conflicts among its student. So many students have been misrepresented and unjustly punished due to the improper handling of incidents that have occurred, especially at the high school level. Once they make improvements in this area, my rating of this school will change.
ONEIL THOMAS: Safe school
Kimberly Ricketts: The best ever.
Mya Allen: I been here K-3 and this year I'm graduating to go to 4th grade
Kamryn Rivera: I like going here
