Brookside Toy and Science: what do users think?
Gail Sawrie: This small shop packs a lot of toys and games for people of all ages. We especially enjoy their STEM selection of toys.
K. S. (WannaBGourmande): Such a great little selection of toys... But the real highlight was the gemstone collection, as well as the preserved animals! If your kids like science, this is THE place to be!
NoTjUsThUmAn: Amazing toys and beautiful minerals and crystals I will definitely be returning to buy new ones
Sean Postpichal: Really, really neat place. Do not let me go in there by myself. I'd purchase one of everything. The lady that helped me find my lightup frisbee was very pleasant and willing to help! Can't wait to go back! This place is awesome!
Mark Hoerl: My kid had a great time checking out this toy store. Friendly staff.
Stephanie Simms: This place has every great toy! Love to shop for gifts here, AND they gift wrap. Great people, great shop.
Morgan Campbell: we had a lovely experience there. i was just expecting a childrens toy store, but they had stuff for adults, too. the lady at the front counter was absolutely wonderful and very helpful. will be going back!
Shea Stacy: Real fun store! We bought a kite and a board game here. There are all kinds of fun things to find for kids or adults in this store! They offer gift wrapping which is also nice
Dennis Moore: Cool store for all your science projects
Tom R Baker: My favorite store in Brookside! If you're looking for kids' science toys - this is a great spot to look. Target or Wal-mart is cheaper but this store has the selection and knowledgeable staff to help you find what you need. IMO it's one of a very store in Brookside worth driving in (from outside the neighborhood) to visit. Parking can be a little tricky for this and most Brookside stores. Be ready to walk from your car.
Terry Rodeghier: If you are looking for a present for a person Young old, this place has everything you could want. I lean towards toys and gifts that will challenge the mind and they have many. The staff is wonderful and helpful and hey, they wrap your presents for you. What could be better.
Annette Rasmussen: I used to go to this store when I was a teen in the 70's. Clearly new owners, lol! Filled to the brim with fun toys and rocks and all the other things that makes my soul sing!
Liz Hicks: This was my go-to for exceptional toys and games when my daughter was young...now it's where I get gifts for my niece.
Kelli Webb: One of our favorite stores
Lucille H Douglass: Was overlooked in line for service. Gift wrapping a big plus.
Ben Crosby: I went in looking for a game my wife requested for Christmas and was amazed at the selection for all ages.
Sue Schmidt: I love this place. It's like a movie
michelle girardin: Now that it is under new ownership it is certain more to a toy store and less of a science store. The things I went in to get they don't carry anymore. Very Disappointed in their science election. They should take the science part off of their name.
majormax 37: Very cool place for great kids toys
Shelly Gumula: Such a fun store. Found a present for my niece I know she'll love.
Thomas Arnhold: A very cool toy store. Well-stocked and the clerks were pleasant and helpful

Level One Game Shop: what do users think?
Chris P.: Lots of board and card games. They also carry puzzles and other more advance buildable structures. The prices were reasonable and they have several discounted items, as well as a used section with some open packages. It appears they have some game tournaments in the back area for those who are interested.
jae reynolds: This place is a Hotspot for Pokemon, D&D, and Board Gamers. A must see in the River Market!
blahmeli: Packed with lots of games and fun stuff. Got some pokemon cards as well.
Dan Powell: Sweet game store
Adam Procell: Great store with awesome/friendly/helpful staff! Excellent selection of games with a used game section as well. Tabletop miniatures section is well stocked, mostly with 40k but other publishers as well. Some cool KC themed puzzles. Recommend dropping by. Staff accommodating and go out of their way to help you
Bob Gilliam: Extensive board game/hobby selection, kind and helpful staff, and fun location in City Market
K E: They have some pretty sweet games. Purchased a good quality DnD dice set. The staff were helpful and friendly.
Trevor Brixey: This is one of the best game shop around the KC area. Everyone I have interacted with has been super helpful and nice. Prices are some of the best and they have a wide selection of games. If you are looking for a new board game to play with some friends, or wanting to pick up the newly released Magic or Pokemon packs, then make sure you stop here.
Jessica Collier: Cute little nerd cave
Jill Rosas: Great selection of games!
Leo van Oudheusden: We were looking for Warhammer 40k models. They had a great selection, everything we were looking for. Citadel paints were not quite as good, they were out of stock on quite a few. Would recommend it if you're into tabletop games.
Josiah Ruiz Esparza: Great shop, great people, they have a lot to offer and work with supporting a lot of local people who make products for games.
Sterling Boone: Reasonably priced great stock lots of things in stock huge selection of dungeons and dragons miniatures really good Warhammer selection paints that you can only find their brushes and people to tell you how to play the games you’d like to learn and boy do they has good deals on used boardgames
Dany G: I went in last week to sell some Pokémon cards, I knew I had some that were worth a pretty penny. Everyone there was super nice and the card expert, John, was amazing and honest.
Clayton Smith: Awesome shop! Fun to swing by down at River Market
Laura Madrid: Very cool gaming store! Sadly, I am not a gamer, but I shop for people who are. They had everything! Card games like the Cards against Humanity series, tarot cards, basic playing cards. They had puzzles, elaborate Pokémon gaming, Star Wars, Dungeons and Dragons, Hex Guard and Whammer! There was so much more, but I can feel myself turning into character, but I'm not sure what game I would be in! And that is scary to me, lol! Just go and see for yourself it is worth a trip!
Andy Budnick (TroutNinja): Easy to get to and great selection for any hobby gaming from TCGs to board games to miniatures.
Pamela Easley: Nice little lounge, watching the people ski , and tubing
Ashley Jarvis: Really cool store, lots of stuff!
CJ Obermaier: I go for Pokemon night and it's a fun environment. They have a great selection of trading cards and board games.
Cameron Akhtar: I've had good fun at this place. They won't give you much for your cards though lol.

The Learning Tree: what do users think?
Courtney Stoppel: The wide variety of products and super knowledgeable staff will have you walking out with the perfect item every time. Just tell them the age of the child you’re buying for and they will show you several options to fit your budget and the child you’re buying for. They also have TONS of games for all ages. A super warm and friendly staff is the cherry on top. My go-to store for children’s gifts and games for all!
Stefanie Estes: Best little local toy store. Well-curated with quality toys, games, and books for kids. Prices for all pockets and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable.
Kory Kirkegaard: Quintessential, local toy shop! Super fun and such a diverse selection of toys, books and activities. Fun little door for the little ones too!
Clinton Donkers: Very nice toy store and the employees seemed very helpful.
Caroline Knecht: This store has the most amazing gifts! Sure, you can get a kid a toy from an ad or from a big box store and they will be happy for a bit. But get them something from Learning Tree and it will become a treasured part of their childhood. We have a big age gap in our kids and they have great toys for my toddler, preschooler and big kid. They also make it easy if you are shopping with the recipient to hide a gift on a shelf for payment and wrapping while the kiddo is off marveling at the many delights.
Nick Stoppel: The Learning Tree makes us feel like we have a family member helping us find the perfect gift. On occasion we’ll described what our nephews are into and Jane, Jonny (owners) or any member of their incredible staff are a massive help narrowing down our options - always a hit! If they don’t have it they will find it, which usually makes it our first and last stop.
Sarah C: They have a wonderful selection of items for children. There is something in every corner. They offer gift wrapping that I have yet to take advantage of but hopefully in the future.
Renana Abrams: Love, love, love The Learning Tree! Whenever we are looking for a new or unique game, this is the first place we go. The owners are always helpful and their suggestions are spot on! Thank you Jane and Jonny for taking such good care of us over the years.
Bentonville Brewing: Wonderful people, wonderful toys! So impressed with the selection they have to offer. I was able to get of my daughters Christmas shopping done in one place.
Madison Blackford: I cannot speak highly enough of this place! Not only do they have the latest and greatest toys but you can shop online on their website if you are not local! All year round you can get your gifts wrapped complimentary even if you buy online! I make trips to Kansas City just to do my shopping at the Learning Tree! Last but not least, they have the friendliest staff!
Lauren Levy: We LOVE The Learning Tree! The store is such a fun place to visit with the kids. They love the little door to go in and out of and the variety of toys is amazing! We always find things no other stores around here have. So many unique toys and books to explore! The employees always have great suggestions for gifts and really know the products well!
Adrianne Metcalf: We love The Learning Tree. They have been our neighborhood toy store for over ten years. They are our go to shop for birthday and holiday presents. They are super helpful at finding just the right present for all age groups.
Felice Azorsky: Love everything about our neighborhood toy store. Staff is very attentive. They know their products and always willing to help me find the perfect gift. Excellent selection and always feels good to shop local.
Judith Evnen: Once again, must thank The Learning Tree for decades of excellent customer service, driven by creative and thoughtful offerings for young minds and interest. You will never find more informed, creative, and quality offerings for your children. Customer service is always top notch. Even through pandemic. Never missed a beat. The Learning Tree staff is knowledgeable and helpful in finding just the right, quality thing. They have helped me send packages around the country for children, and “adult children” with a hit every single time! They are my go-to, and always will be.
Sharon Mo: I found the perfect gifts here. Huge selection and the prices are reasonable too. It feels great to shop small and the employees are so helpful and friendly. Free gift wrapping was also a huge plus. Can't wait to go back and shop for myself!
Angela Engel: you should really treat you’re employees better😐
Jane Kohlhase: everything is so expensive! pay your workers more!!
Tammy Spieler: They have A plus people who arevery knowledgeable and amazinglyHelpful. Wonderful store, product.
Tamara Stephenson: Great service and selection....shop local.
james schaefer: Is it a bad thing that I want to go through the kids door with my kids? :) Staff is ridiculous helpful and kind here. Need ideas for a gift for a party? Just ask anyone there. Huge selection of kids toys and games... gift wrapping is offered to, so the perfect spot for a last minute present. Love the selection of STEM gifts.
Wynne Foster: Best toy store in town! This is my go to whenever I need a gift because you can find unique gifts that you can’t find anywhere else. The staff is so friendly and helpful and they wrap your gift so it looks adorable! If you haven’t been... you should!!

Thank You, Nice Boys!!: Pretty cool.
J fmdevil: A nice little store, with a nice selection of toys, helping to fill a gap that the lack of Toys R Us desperately needed to fill.Of course some of their toys are over priced, but there is enough selection of stuff that isn't overpriced to warrant a visit. We were able to pick up a nice little Peppa Pig set for our daughter, that just made her day oh, so it was worth it.
Robert Kirk: A+++
Kalinne Carvalho: Very nice
Tabitha Willey: Very big selection lots of great sales
Tereasa Gilmore: Lots of items. A calendar for any enthusiast!

Barnes & Noble: what do users think?
Larry Nelson: Couldn’t find any assistance. I bought 2 books and when I requested a sack, I was told that they give sacks for customers who purchase 3 books or more. Overall, very poor customer service.
H Summer: Poor customer service and didn't have what i was looking for..ended up disappointed about the drive too for nothing.. And This IS WHY WE AMAZON!
Daniel Green: I love the kids games area in this store, great to be able to walk through a store and look at things for real instead of scroll through Amazon on a screen
Steve Wilson: I'm glad to still have this option. Book stores seem to be disappearing
Crazy Droid: Very sad customer service, this store apparently does not care for their sales. Rude employees who kick you out as soon as it hits 9 pm and don’t even want you to buy anything from them just cuz they are closed. Item has two different tags with two different prices which is ridicules and employee rude about it. First and LAST time I visited this store.
Steve P: A wonderful location and options to choose from.
Katie Moore: I love a good bookstore! Not enough of them left. I try to stop by whenever I can and pick up books for my family.
Bill H: Couldn't find anyone to ask questions. No one working upstairs in the kids section. Had to find someone to take our money at the main register. Very poor customer service
James Roberts: Great place to buy, browse, read and drink coffee.
Jeff Templeton: Very helpful ay checkout but disappointed in the cafe everything i asked for they were out of.
De W: The store always looks nice and staff are always friendly. Almost everything is pretty expensive, but they usually have some good sales. We found some items at 50% off and or more.
Deborah Peek: Did not purchase the four items. No register opened at rear entrance by handicap parking...no cut out ramp at that entrance either......sad
Samantha Spicer: My favorite place to be!!!
Joey Donut: Barnes and Noble is a well-known bookstore chain that has been around for decades. As someone who is an avid reader, I have visited many Barnes and Noble stores over the years. While I have always found the staff to be incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, I have to say that their romance selection is lacking when it comes to heat. The staff at Barnes and Noble are always willing to offer recommendations and help customers find the perfect book for their needs. They are knowledgeable about the latest releases and can often offer insights and recommendations that you won't find anywhere else. However, when it comes to their romance section, I have found that the selection is lacking in steamy and passionate reads. While Barnes and Noble has a large selection of romance novels, I have found that many of them are more on the sweet and gentle side. While these books can be enjoyable in their own right, sometimes you just want a book that will make your heart race and your palms sweat. Unfortunately, the selection at Barnes and Noble often lacks these more intense and steamy reads. It's not that Barnes and Noble doesn't have any romance novels that are passionate and steamy - they certainly do. However, I have found that the selection is often limited and not as diverse as I would like. There are certainly some great books to be found in the romance section, but if you're looking for something with a little more heat, you may need to look elsewhere. That being said, there are still many reasons to visit Barnes and Noble. In addition to their knowledgeable staff, they have a wide selection of books in a variety of genres. Whether you're looking for the latest bestseller or an obscure indie title, you're sure to find something that interests you at Barnes and Noble.Additionally, Barnes and Noble often hosts author events and book signings, which can be a great way to meet your favorite writers and get a personalized copy of their latest book. These events are often well-attended and can be a great opportunity to connect with other readers in your community. In conclusion, while Barnes and Noble is a great place to shop for books in general, their romance selection does lack the heat that many readers are looking for. While there are certainly some passionate and steamy reads to be found, the selection is often limited and not as diverse as one would hope. However, the knowledgeable staff and wide selection of books in other genres make Barnes and Noble a great destination for book lovers.
Amela Parks: Awesome place.
Birgit Post: So happy to visit Barnes and Noble in Zona Rosa. Great choices, welcoming place, knowledgeable and helpful staff.
CrowsMob: The staff that deals with the books are nice, with a few exceptions. The Starbucks people however are just rude. There was a line that was standing around for 7 minutes, when I saw that I asked a staff member if the Starbucks was closed. She literally sighed out loud and slowly walked over behind the counter. Then while taking orders she was very rude and messed up 2 drinks in a row. After that I decided not to get the Starbucks and just finish my shopping.
Randall Paul: We were looking for young children's books and a sales associate was VERY helpful and courteous. Found a great selection and were very pleased. Thank you so much!
Donald Wall: Wonderful coffees and every kind of book, magazine you could want.
