North Kansas City Hospital: what do users think?
Christian Smith: Very helpful, and has been a great hospital all of my families life.
Brian Burke: very nice directions to get you where you're going in the hospital !
shannon cantrell: One of the most helpful and useful hospitals for sure
Austin Long: I'm giving this a five-star rating because of the nurse that I had named Brooke. She was very sweet and kind and it's pretty much it
Monica C.: Took my 4 year old son in around 2am. Because he had croup and was breathing weird. (This isn’t his first time with croup. So I already knew, I took him for his breathing) they did Covid, flu, rsv tests. Which was negative. Of course. Sent my son home 3 hours later and said he didn’t have croup. No medicine was giving. Which stunned me. Took him to his regular pediatrician he did indeed have croup like I thought he did. Gave him the correct medication he needed. I will not be back. I rather drive to KU.
KGORE: Get ready to wait!
Paula Reese: If I could rate less I would. I went to the ER with an ear infection. I'm 28 weeks pregnant which I made VERY VERY clear, aside from the protruding tummy I'm obviously pregnant. I told them this like 3 times.. gave them my due date and all.. well they prescribed me a NON PREGNANCY SAFE ANTIBIOTIC! I'm already very high risk too
Tanay: I visited the ER with my wife and the medical team on duty (R.N. Jennifer Y and P.A. Lucas) were optimal in their treatment of us. We are grateful for their kindness and awesome bedside manner. Also, I cannot fail to mention that they both have a face for TV. 😊
Stephanie Baker: The ICU took great care of my son after a MVA trauma.Thank you, Blonde Ashley and Brown Ashley! And thank you to everyone there. Unfortunately, I think the holidays threw a wrench in care coordination after ICU transfer to floor. I would like to commend the social work team for being investigative and contacting me so quickly. Truly, a dedicated trauma team.
Penny Graham: Never go here they treat you for what they want to not what you need only interested in profit to hospital don't even tell you what they are doing b4 I am a diabetic and my sugars were high due to eating Easter candy the day before the emergency I went in for they only want you to stay overnight and treat you for something you weren't even there for I was there for a spider bite never even tried to treat me for the spider bite only gave me insulin for disease of diabetes never even gave me anything no antibiotics only worried keeping me overnight to treat something I wasn't even there for and I was there for 11 hours and left ama because they did NOT even try to help with what I was there for. STOP treating the disease start treating the person . That is why people are saying hipcrite not the oath they say they are. IDr just make educated guess well I can make an educated guess myself since it's my body and I know more of what's going on with than they do. Need to listen to what their patients tell them. No I will never go back. Just keep pushing your man made diseases. Worthless people trying to get rich.
Tiffany Best: I came in with chest pain and had an episode that mirrored a stroke. I had also been throwing up prior to that episode for several days. I wasn't able to keep any of my regular medications down. The ER staff was pretty good; but I was admitted and told by the hospitalist, that they were going to do everything by mouth instead of IV; which would've been fine had I not been throwing up for 3 days or able to take the medications by mouth. I sat there in pain for nearly 12 hours; which did not matter to the drs at all. Keep trying; what sense does that make? I have never been so irritated by the lack of care or concern. They told me my tests came back fine and sent me home. Later I finally went to another hospital and was told my treponins were elevated my blood pressure was again in the 220/100 range. The fact that I expressed my concerns to the doctor and her only concern was that I am someone who regularly takes pain medicine. I got to a pain clinic for endometriosis; I have had 2 pulmonary embolisms so I had to stop the estrogen and start xarelto: that's when I started with the pain medication and that is all the doctors heard. I brought my medications with me to show I didn't need a prescription or anything I simply was having issues with vomiting and couldn't keep my blood pressure, blood thinners, pain medicine anything down, in addition to the stroke symptoms. If not for going to another hospital who knows what may have happened; but I willnever go back. The nurses are scared to contact the doctors; once the Dr says something there is no one to advocate at that point for the patients I asked prior to discharge and was just told - those are her instructions. It's a joke and an insult. Please do better before you send someone home and they die: I never should have been discharged without knowing at that point I could keep my meds down.
Life of trell: I took my boyfriend to the ER here for a gunshot wound they didn’t use proper tools they use what it looked like to be a box cutter knife to cut open his wound we young so we didn’t know no better. they didn’t clean up after the procedure they left all the bloody gauze there until we left they didn’t knock on the door before entering my boyfriend was in a gown and they didn’t close the door behind them ever time they would entered the room.
Austin Wilhite: Worst hospital I've ever been to longest wait times and unfreindlyest staff I've ever encountered
April Mercer: So I HATE to throw shade, but North Kansas City Hospital, you've earned it. They refused to treat me for severe muscle and body pain because I've had the problem for a few years (though it got worse the past few weeks). They refused to do x-rays. They offered a pain pill at the hospital and were HIGHLY RUDE and completely downplayed my pain. I was literally in tears the whole time. I walked out of there ASAP and got a second opinion at another hospital ED and turns out, with an x-ray, the doctor found that I had arthritis in my spine and the damage was SO BAD, they asked me repeatedly if I'd just been in a car accident. No. Lie. Seriously considering an attorney. I would not trust them with my life. Please don't trust them with yours.
Brianna Reese: They have very skilled doctors and nurses. I wouldn’t really recommend this hospital because your bad incidents will outweigh your care and everything their good hardworking staff tries to do. I believe some of their staff is racist and cause harm to you when alone. For your safety as a black women please don’t go here for your care unless it’s only your primary. Meritas network is dangerous for you.
Joseph: Absolutely horrible experience for my grandmother
Steve moore: Patient room is dirty and no hot water in hand sink .this is not safe .patient has been in room 2 days with liquid diet and I cleaned a strawberry off floor tonight. Nurses are very loud in station discussing thing's from where to shop to patients that were positive for meth .against hipa I beleive.
Lorren Michele: This is my second time visiting this ER, this week, for the same matter. First time I waited well over two hours in severe pain until I finally left and sought treatment elsewhere. Today I have been here over an hour thus far; and was only one person in the waiting room, other than myself. I was triaged and brought to a room this time immediately. Pain at an 8/9...still haven't been seen. I even communicated that all I needed was a toradol injection for the pain and the details as to why. I don't live in kc and all the urgent cares are currently closed. This is the closest hospital to where I'm staying in town. If you have a medical emergency, I would not suggest coming here.Update: I repeatedly explained why I came in and what pain needed to be addressed. Still every person that came in inquiring kept saying I was here for back pain. Even when everything was said and done, my discharge papers are still stating I came in for back pain. How? I was told that I was given a 60 mg toradol injection, I'm sure I was only given 30 mg. Discharge papers don't present I was given anything at all. In less than an hour at square one due to being given a lower dose.
T Sears: Best around KC
Patricia Norton: I was visiting family in Kansas City and accidentally cut my finger. My family took me to North Kansas City Hospital ER. I have never received better medical treatment. I was quickly assessed and told I would need stitches. After a very short wait I was taken back and received three stitches in my finger. Everyone I dealt with was professional and compassionate. When I went to my doctor at home to have the stitches removed, he asked where I had gotten them. He said I would not have received care that good at our local hospitals.
E: Came in with my wife having trouble breathing still waiting after 4 hrs hasn't checked on her once except first intake asked several times explaining how shes in pain and having trouble breathing. There response all our beds are full nothing we can do worst er I've been to

Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City: what do users think?
Sharon Usher: Everything about my experience at the Emergency Room at St. Luke's was positive. They gave me the tests I had hoped to have done. The staff was knowledgeable, kept me informed, and kind.
J. Eidson: Kind, compassionate, quality care each step of the way. A 17.5-hour surgery and 4 days in the ICU - nothing but gratitude for everyone!
carolyn johnson: My hospital stay was fine, everyone from the drs, nurses, therapists, specialists to housekeeping gave excellent care. Im proud of the team who worked with me in getting me e free ready for new life with kidney. Thank you all & God Bless
linda bergin: Wonderful and caring individuals. Good interactions with my doctor and staff.
lourace Moore: The emergency room is a mess I don't like the emergency department it is very slow no beds ridiculous
Got to be REAL Pending: My last experience was fine, a few months ago it was not
Anna Zimmerman: I gave birth at Saint Luke’s in late May 2023. The nurses, doctors, and staff were all professional and kind. Special shout out to Tessa, in Mother & Baby, for being an incredible nurse. She went above and beyond to ensure we were both comfortable.
Quit jackin With me: The last visit was fine, a few months ago, NOT
Frankie Glenn: I've spent a lot of time at St. Lukes and the time was always a good stay, the Drs. and nurses were always caring and nice to me. The best care for meThank you guys very much, especially Denis on the 5th floor.
Debbie Tangen: The doctors, nurses, nurse's aides, food service, radiology, housekeeping, maintenance & administration staffs were amazing! Everyone was so pleasant, helpful & willing to do anything. I was very pleased by my experience.
Judy Given: I had a positive experience at St Luke's Plaza. All the staff were very responsive and always informative and friendly. I would recommend St.Luke's.
Gary Summers: The very best care I ever had. They got tom the bottom of my problem. Thank you Gary Summers
Joei Pritchett: Everyone took care of me throughout my intense labor and delivery. After my delivery nurses, surgeons, and anesthesiologists came to check on me and my baby. They really went above and beyond. Along with the care the nurses gave me as I was healing from a c section was amazing really helped me through things.
Alyssa V: I can’t speak highly enough of the OBGYN team at Saint Luke’s hospital on the plaza. The nurses are the best and provide excellent care all while connecting on a human level.
Joni Roberts: The care we received at Saint Luke's was exceptional. Every where and from everyone. They know how to listen, treat and care for their patience's and family members. I highly recommend this hospital if you need care.
Mischelle Richter: Everybody is really nice and helpful.
Terri Miro: Friendly, professional from beginning to end!
Jamont Clayton: I had an appointment at 7:30am I wasn't seen until 10am in the kidney transplant office I need more respect for my time
Jordan “JDUB” DeMoss: They help me with a smile and did all the could
R Bennett: I was very fortunate to have all the Doctors and Nurses that took care of me. Dr. Cummings and everyone on the surgical team ( I wish I could remember all their names and their specialty) treated me with respect and their sense of humor was great when I teased them. I tried to have fun and keep a positive attitude along with the seriousness of the situation. Nurses KC and Liz also went above taking care of me after my surgery. The only thing I was disappointed about was the fact that my family was not kept informed of the progress during my surgery. Nothing was relayed to them after I was taken to surgery until one of them asked how things were going and was told I was back in my room! They were worried sick! Please correct this for other families.
Jeniffer Ray: I have been here for 10 days with my daughter in the nicu and they have been so wonderful! Every nurse we have had makes sure to ask if I need anything or if my daughter does and most of them have seen me completely break down and cry and they were there to listen and be supportive and I can’t thank each one of them enough! They are amazing people in the nicu! She has gotten the best care she can and they give her love too. Absolutely love the nurses!

The University of Kansas Health System: what do users think?
Debra N.: The best eye care center in the metropolitan Kansas City area.
Pam Pruitt: I have been seeing Dr Whittaker for over a year. Visits every 3 months. I am very pleased with Dr, and staff. We (staff concerning a test) had one hiccup, but got it worked outDr Whittaker is very patient, and nice. He always explains things well.I would definitely recommend!
Tony Potter: The shop is awful. I can buy a car and return it in a few weeks if I don't like it but KU optical doesn't post signs that say if you order it you buy it and there are "no refunds". Just truly awful.
Jesus Sanchez: Nurse practitioner rolled her eyes at me while I was discussing my symptoms. She did not smile once during the whole visit, and treated the visit like a waste of her time. Do not recommend, and will not go back. Empathy is so important in the medical field, if you don't have compassion for your patients...just leave.
Alexis Wingate: "The receptionist upstairs @ the surgery center Princess; and those awesome, vibrant, compassionate, highly disciplined nurses:All of you in the reception area at the clinic are "Gems-Diamonds", Thank you for making my experience wonderful!
Susan Welsch: I just drove 30 minutes to visit the optical shop at the KU Eye Center on State Line Road, only to find the shop closed between 12:00-1:00 for lunch. Some patients like myself only have lunch hours to run errands and take care of business and to have a public shop in an open doctor's office closed for an hour does not speak to good customer service. Lunches can be staggered to allow a business to be open to accommodate patients who cannot get there any other time than the lunch hour. Much as I would like to support this shop, this is not the standard of customer service I would expect from such an excellent eye care facility as KU.
Bold King: This is for the hospital that keeps around a nurse that responds to high risk suicidal patients by trying to psycho-analyze them without prior knowledge or history of the patient, for trying to bait them into an answer so she can get preachy and talk about how much they don't know about the world. For the same nurse that derides and belittles the patient, for tricking them into being admitted to the WORST mental health hospital in the area. For the SAME nurse that left the door open to the holding cell so I could hear her spouting off deeply personal information of the patient in the next room. I sincerely hope she is no longer there so that no other patients like me have to deal with that kind of treatment when we are already at our lowest, weakest points.
Maggie Lee: Couldn't be happier! My first visit the technician came to get me before I even sat down from checking in. 2 techs worked with me for initial tests and the Dr. was in to see me within a few minutes of those initial tests. He asked questions, listened and performed tests my normal eye Dr. probably didn't even know about. Very Very happy my neurologist referred me to Dr. Whittaker. The staff was wonderful!!!
Phillip Shields: I have scar tissue on my retina. They didn't really do much in the way of helping me figure out what was going on. They charged me for some steroid eye injections and send me on my way. My doctor was dr. Singh (been a while since I've seen him I might have the wrong name and I didn't see him on hothead current doctors list so he may have moved on), he was very rude and had terrible bed side manner. Not just to me but the staff as well. If you have a choice please select somewhere else and if you don't then God help you.
Colette Fangman: My low rating is not a reflection on the competence of the doctor I saw. He was great. My issue is with the nurse staff/billing. I was told I needed a genetic blood test and after several phone calls, insurance told me and also told the nurse that it would be covered if the doctors office provided a pre-authorization form. When I called nurse to tell her that, she said they don't have that kind of form. Some time later, the doctor's office called to say the test was now covered. Got the test done and insurance said it was not covered because doctor's office didn't send form in. Disputed this for awhile with doctor's office and insurance, finally gave up and paid $1300 out of pocket. Also very hard to get a call back from the triage line when I need to talk to someone about medication that was not ordered as it should have been. Never going back.
Gina Enfranca: My low rating does not reflect the quality of care I received. Everyone I spoke with, from reception, phone customer support, doctor, and optical staff was great. It's the billing department I have issues with. I've received two bills so far, both of them incorrect. My original visit was billed to my primary insurance rather than my vision care plan. That took twenty minutes, mostly on hold, to correct. Second bill indicated I hadn't paid my co-pay, which meant another 25 minutes on hold to clear up. I can't wait to see what comes next. Hold on to your receipts, people, or if you value your time, go somewhere else.
Jim Wright: After being misdiagnosed from a hospital at Lake of the Ozarks and the pain continued I sought a second opinion from KU - Thank God! It turned out that I had a very severe injury to my eyeball which was confirmed with a CAT Scan and I was sent to surgery within hours which saved the eyeball from infection and total loss of sight. From my situation, I highly recommend KU Eye. It's where the best of the best are trained.
Claudia Ray of Sunshine DeMuth: The staff is wonderful, the Doctor I saw was very nice and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place. My experience was definitely 100 % positive.
Julia Binkley: Best doctors in KC area love them.
Guy Clark: Dr Singh is amazing
Nora Al-Ani: Had an exam last week for myself and my son. I saw Dr. Dekeyser, and my Son Dr. Atkinson, They were both amazing! My son is 4 years old, so this was his first ever eye exam and they did a great job!
Rhonda Presley: My experiences with this clinic has been exceptionally special. Had it not been for Dr John E Sutphin and his team of wonderfully trained associates, I would not have sight today! Works miracles!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Laura Lloyd: My visit in early September, 2015, to the optometrist went fine. But disputing the coding as an initial visit--even though I had visited the practitioner a few years before-was a nightmare of buck passing between the clinic supervisor and the billing department. The clinic supervisor was especially unconcerned about meeting my needs. Her manner was that of a surly bureaucrat. Upshot is that I had to beg for a bill--without knowing if the doctor ever even looked at it--so that I could pay it in December and use my flex spending. I paid more than I should have but they were so unhelpful that I just wanted to get it over with.KU has all those pretty ads about how great they are, but their patient service is truly inferior.
Dreaming Days: Worst eye exam I have ever seen.Do not take children here- they do not know how to deal with children.

Children's Mercy Adele Hall Campus: what do users think?
Ally Gordon: I'm here at children mercy 22nd st. In the ER with my 17 yr old in pain in a rm. And no one comes for awhile then 3 unfriendly nurses she sees never introduce themselves , No doctor seem , and got my child's test report Wrong.
Amy Gay: Amazing people they helped save my son another reason we are moving closer
Carman Meade: Great nurses and service. The cafeteria is horrific. The times when different stations is open is inconsistent. I was told it is all based on staffing. Often food in coolers is out dated. Cafeteria staff need a strong course on customer experience and professional behavior. I would think a hospital where each patient mostly has at least one guest could be better than this.
Christa Hedberg: I went to go see my MS doctor; Tyler Allison. He is the best doctor you will ever have. He has great answers to your questions or concerns. I have been seeing him twice a year for 4 years. Children’s Mercy is one of the best places to take your child for their medical needs. Thank you to all the kind staff there for all they have done for me. I appreciate it!
Marcus Miller: Joelle Guthrie in the behavioral sciences department is amazing with her patient support and communication!
Chrisy Fairman: Horrible staff they act like high schoolers who has nothing going on that they have to start rumors and they refused to stitch my daughter up until we talked to CSP because there was a rumor going around we abused our daughter CPS said they didn’t see any concerns. grow up and do your jobs!!!WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SMH
Davon Beachy: Easily the best hospital experience we have ever had. We have been there twice for open heart surgeries for our child. The caring atmosphere and compassionate culture are second to none. I am amazed that a hospital of this size can maintain such a positive culture. I’ve been to other hospitals that are ok or even good, but the care at Childrens Mercy was above and beyond!
Jake Huppe: Our son was diagnosed with spina bifida at our 20 week ultra sound and we spent every week since at CMH in the fetal health center and my wife even delivered there. Everyone in fetal health and neurosurgery is PHENOMENAL! We give them 5 stars. Our problem is with 4 West. Our son is currently 4 weeks old and we have stayed there overnight twice after neurosurgeries and it’s the same stuff with different staff. None of the nurses seemed to know anything about our son. The first nurse was trying to calm him down by patting him aggressively on the lower back. If you knew anything about him or spina bifida, you’d know he has a big wound right where you’re hitting him and you’re hurting him. Every staff member seems shocked when we mention that we have to cath him every 6 hours. Again, if you read anything about him or knew about spina bifida at all, this wouldn’t be surprising. We had an instance where our son was screaming after eating and it was clear he was in pain. He also had an IV in his leg and his leg had swollen to the point where it was solid as a rock. We told one of the nurses who was just sitting at the desk looking at her phone and she said she’d let our nurse know. It wasn’t until about an hour later, we went back out to the nurses station after our son had projectile vomited and we found our nurse just having a casual conversation with the other nurses. Then, everyone rushed into our room and finally took care of him.Shortly after, I listened through the door and heard the nurses talking about us and laughing, making fun of us for being concerned when his monitor was going off. Our nurse jokingly said, “I should’ve turned his vitals off while I was in there.” There were other things said that we’re simply unprofessional and not warranted at all.My wife and I are pretty passive people and don’t raise a big fuss over things, but when our newborn is projectile vomiting, screaming, and swollen solid for over an hour, we expect a little more urgency. The entire 4 west staff is horrible and needs to do a better job of actually knowing about their patients. It’s not hard to find his records- he has been seen here since 20 weeks before he was born. It’s so sad because I know this is a great hospital and not every unit is like this.
Jerry Kelsey: We made the mistake of going to Dr. Horii and Children's Mercy in Kansas City. Initially we were told by our pediatrician that our daughters hemangiomas were not a cause for concern until they reached a total of 9. Our daughter had 6. Out of precaution, we went to see a dermatologist specialist (Dr. Horii).Upon arrival they were surprised to see a healthy baby girl and expected her to be very sickly (did they mix up the children?) Dr. Horii told us actually 5 or more hemangiomas were a cause for concern. She had us take X-rays of our daughter to make sure she was okay internally. The X-rays came back as innumerable and apparently unable to be counted because there was so many.We then were referred to go see a cardiologist to see if she was healthy enough to be put on blood pressure medication to treat the hemangiomas. We were skeptical at this point. The cardiologist questioned the need for treatment because he could not see any on her liver. At some point we saw an Angela Tendick who seemed to keep trying to schedule follow ups and keep us (spending money) with Children’s Mercy. We had moved to Wichita so she set us up with a doctor from children’s mercy there who also told us that he could not see any hemangiomas on the X-ray.My wife got a job in Hutchinson with good local insurance. Hutchinson confirmed that our daughter did not have hemangiomas. Angela Tendick did a zoom call with us and tried to tell us that Hutchinson was not equipped with the proper equipment to see these. At that point we realized they were innumerable because they didn’t exist and could not be counted. The billing at children’s mercy is also one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. We received bill after bill for what we thought we had paid or insurance had covered. The billing department was unhelpful because they had turned us over to collections without any phone call or mail saying we had anything overdue. When we called they couldn’t help because it was out of their hands. Thousands of dollars wasted and we continue to get bills from children’s mercy even though it’s been 9 months since we have had work done. Something is truly corrupt in this money pit you call a hospital. Nothing helpful came from this place, just wasted time and money.Edit: I forgot to mention that weeks before we were turned into collections that my wife called and was told that we had paid everything off. Also, after this whole mess she was frustrated and asked to just pay it all off at once so we wouldn’t have to deal with them anymore. So how are we receiving bills after that and we haven’t been to children’s mercy since?
Rafaela Abdulmassih ferreira: Never in my life I have seen such bad ER, I have been waiting for more than 6 hours with my 2 yrs old daughter, they just said to me that still has 10 more in the line! Where are the doctors????? Huge structure, looks beautiful inside, but they are missing the basic! Where are the doctors, the children are suffering, … I will never recommend this hospital for anyone. There is no human being responsibility. Can not believe that in a country like that this could be possible!
Valerie Ma: We LOVE this hospital and today I had the most amazing experience over the phone with Danielle from billing. She was so patient and kind, taking the time to research and help me understand our bill that I was more than happy to pay it!
Kim Miller: It is going to take 5 months to get a MRI of my son’ chest and brain because it is a 3 hour procedure with anesthesia . This does not seem like a reasonable timeframe. This is after many other issues we have had. 10 years ago I was proud to have CMH care for my kiddo. It does not seem like they value him or his wellbeing. I called the patient advocate line and no one returned my call. Can CMH staff other locations with anesthesia??
Rockie: Nice facility with easy parking access.
Donald Smith: Very unprofessional treatment. Felt very disrespected and treated reduculously. Would recommend going somewhere else if at all possible.
Kristen Burts: My daughter got really sick and was transferred here from Joplin. She was so well taken care of by all staff. I would recommend this hospital for sure.
nich H: Absolutely the slowest hospital I’ve ever been to for emergencies. I do not recommend coming to the emergency services here unless ur child is seen here regularly. We waited almost 7hrs for a prescription for antibiotics to be sent to Walgreens. They didn’t even give him any while we were there. Terrible experience everytime we come here. I suggest brookside medical center
Heather Parsons: This hospital's er is a joke. Brought my son in with BREATHING PROBLEMS and they let him sit in the er waiting room while taking a child who came in with a tummy ache before seeing him. This place already killed one of my kids and now they are trying to take a second one from me.
shenicka lowe: Children's mercy use to be very easy to communicate with. Here lately it's difficult to get things done. Like a physical form complete after a well child exam. When you call you receive different information about the same issue. My son's provider offered him a helmet and we didn't receive it. I'm highly disappointed with the quality of care we've been receiving lately.
Amy Sanders: My son was cared for with patience and love.
Rachel Morgan: I recently took my child to get some lab work done that we were told would take about an hour. From the time we were brought back for the testing, Tawny was patient, explained the process well, friendly, and even had a tablet available for my son (it was early and I forgot to bring entertainment with us).He was apprehensive about the needle, and she moved so quickly that he barely knew what was happening. I've never seen someone find a vein that expertly. His previous experience with a blood draw was difficult, so just wanted to thank her for our experience and let the facility know she is doing a great job. Also, both of my kids have been seeing Dr. Tam-Williams for a few years now. She has always been funny, sunny, explains things thoroughly, and is patient to be sure I understand things fully. She really takes her time during each visit. As of late we've been needing extra information. She and her nurses have been exceptional at communicating through the portal quickly and thoroughly the multiple times I've contacted them.We are very appreciative of the staff we have encountered so far at Children's Mercy.
Joe Yakopec: Words can't describe how awesome this place is for care. My 10 year old daughter needed emergency surgery and the care that everyone provided was amazing. From the janitors to every doctor the service, care, transparency, and facility were amazing.i hope I never have to come back but I wouldn't want any other place taking care of my little girl.Don't eat at the cafeteria however. The food and food choices aren't very good and the rude staff was even worse.

Truman Medical Center Hospital Hill Emergency Room: what do users think?
javonne tobay: Do not bring your love ones here my mom is here for surgery yesterday and one of the nurses said that they would call us once she got out of surgery and they never did and today I was trying to visit her on the 5th floor and they told me to move her to icu the 2nd floor so I went down to the 2nd floor and the 2nd floor said she wasn’t thereon the 2nd floor so I went back up to the 5th floor letting them know that they said she was not there and they went to go check again and they said she was on the 2nd floor so I went back down to the 2nd floor again and when I ring the doorbell no one wanted to answer the doorbell and they sent me outside the hall standing there so one of the registration employees was coming down the hall and she was going in on the 2nd floor and as soon as I walked in the door a nurse met me at the door saying I couldn’t not see my mom yet because they just brought her down to the floor and it would be a minute and now I have been waiting for 15min and no one hasn’t told me nothing yet this is the worst service ever and for them not to know where my mom was at for about 15 min is crazy to me.
Ira Nasef: They almost killed my mom! They gave her wrong medication in her spine, she supposed to have knee replacement surgery, sneaky anesthesia nurse even did not have guts to come to apologize.the worst experience ever! Truman will pay for it! I promise!
Elvin Robinson: Cold stinky hospital with goofy disrespectful staff who have bad attitudes
cantyouread: Slowest hospital I've ever been too. If you are in serious pain and need to be seen URGENTLY pick somewhere else to go.
Carla Dodson: I went to truman lakewood emergency and i have history of kidneystone. The doctor that a nurse practitioner dismissed my pain as having back issues and said I possibly could not be passing a stone and they don't care if you crawl in from stone they will not perscribe anything for pain they tell you to take tylenol and aleve together it do the job. NOT!
Amber Rhinehart: Zero stars should be an option. They should not be a hospital. If you have been seen here I would recommend getting a lawyer. Trust me you will need it. Also if it’s life and death pick somewhere else they will kill you.
Araceli Gutierrez: Worst service ever experience in an emergency room. I would rate this zero stars if I could.
Jonathan Williams: The physicians and staff of Truman Medical Center's Progressive Care Unit on the second floor cared for our son until his passing from terminal illness. For more than 10 days the team provided kind and compassionate care in the most professional and loving manner. The level of care and concern was exceptional in every aspect. It was particularly helpful that they used a comprehensive team approach that treated our son holistically and fully. From the hospital greeters to the security team in the Emergency Department to the nurses and doctors involved in or son's care, every member of the entire hospital as well as his care team was extremely considerate and thoughtful in our time of difficulty. We could not have had a more capable and caring group of medical practitioners than the people at the Truman Medical Center. They were absolutely at their best when we needed them the most.
Gwoof: 😘🍿
Bruce Kuzma: University Health-Truman Medical Center-Hospital Hill, Kansas City with University Missouri Kansas City. A staffing of competent people that has taken care of my medical needs since 10/31/1998 when I was brought here in a coma from a blunt force trauma to the Base of a skull until on or about 11/21/1998. They are keeping me Living day-to-day.
phil humphrey: Took my daughter down for an appointment. Parking garage was free. We were assisted in navigating the hallways to her clinic. Got there early and they took her right in. She liked how her P.A. listened and asked questions. A friendly nurse even asked if she could pray with her. We finished and again got help exiting. No complaints. We have to do a follow-up and we're not freaking out.
Jonathan Daly: Very nice hospital complex. Met a very friendly and helpful staff member who guided my "first time here" party to where we needed to go.
DREAM VERSACE: Mane no....ain't no way from the reviews .... folks over here wanting me to go here naw 😒 😑 respectfully Issa no fa me.....sincerely
Knightly Luna: The next time I have to be there, if a doctor has the audacity to roll their eyes at me because of some arrogant sense of superiority, I'm breaking their neck. I'm not about to come into this place with the vast knowledge I have and be treated like I know nothing. Humble yourselves, pissants.
Brianna Walker: Death trap and dirty! Not sanitary at all! I went in for my appendix and walked out due to the lady in labs in the emergency department laying the needle on the table and the bandages thinking she was about to stick me in my arm. She did not wash her hands or glove up nor clean the area she has you sit in for labs…. They need to burn that hospital to the ground and or get new staff. The emergency department nurses are disrespectful and dirty and talked to the elderly ppl there like they were burdens. Trashhhhhhhhhhhhh Truman has went down hill bad!!!
Jennifer Johnston: Dr. Balk is amazing. I've been on both sides of the medical spectrum. Great insurance with great providers I've also seen firsthand how awful some hospitals will treat you without medical ins. I've been battling this disease for 2 years with no answers. For the first time I feel like we have made some progress not only did this man go out of his way to contact the social worker and find a primary doctor and a specialist but they also called me to set up appointments before I even was discharged from the emergency room. This hospital has saved my life today and pointed me in the right direction of getting Medicaid, getting an answer to a diagnosis and now we have potential as to what an underlying condition may be. Now it's up to the specialist. I cannot imagine what his days are like. Working the front line and so knowledgeable. I never saw him sit down. How he can manage that much chaos and still remember your first name is beyond me. For once in my life I felt like a patient who was heard.
Audrey L Weilert: I bring my Daughter here for her Remicade monthly. The GI clinic and the other hospital stuff are Always Friendly!
Marty Lambertson: No one will return your call. I'm needing to find out some information, but all I get is a freaking recording saying call a certain number and it all winds back up at the same place. I'm NOT IMPRESSED with Truman Medical Center.
Stacy Fremin: Hindsight is always 20/20. Best treatment with only a few exceptions.
Stacy Hughes Fremin: Admitted into hospital overnight. Not given breakfast, skipped meal until I begged for something humane to eat. Ate 1 cold turkey sandwich after being provided a cold turkey sandwich around 3pm. Anticipated dinner at 6:30, only to be given a vegan burger. Asked for any packets of sweetener about 10 packets, but not any of the staff can find our anything?? I would love to have 12pk of diet pepsie or Coke. Add chicken parm and turkey sandwiches. 2 chocolate milk and 2 peptides.May I go the get things are n ow?
Clayton Patrick: Been sick since dec 14, tried to come in today was asked to leave the er, no room
