Self-Defense Global KC: what do users think?
Michael Binder: My boys really enjoy the class. It is great training.
Kerwin Abels: This is really a great school and I was learning so much all the time while also getting in shape. For self defense this school is one of the best.A construction job injury forced me to stop. But I do hope to go back.
Jeeko Villaverde: It's the best place to train. Great people great environment. You'll learn more than just Martial arts. Learn self defense for real life situations. Great place to train for civilians and law enforcement.
Sophia Binder: This place is amazing! My kids love coming here, they feel so confident.
Brian Davis: Excellent instruction. Options for the entire family.
Jamesa Walker: Great place! Helps keep the children motivated, on a schedule, and fit!
Kathy Rocha: A great place to learn manners. Sarah does a great job.
Bailey Hale: I wasn’t able to spend much time at SDG due to some personal factors, but the couple of classes I had there were well worth it!! Sarah and Eric are both fantastic instructors, and they make it really fun. I felt like even in just a couple of sessions I learned so much more about self defense than I knew previously, so even if you only have time or money for the trial, it is worth your while!
Lita Madget: My daughter who has no experience came home tonight sooooo excited that her teacher told her that in 3 months she’ll be breaking boards. She’s been there two weeks and loves it and has already improved so much.
Fred Schwab: Excellent training with real world self defense application. Also a great workout.
Eric Ortega: Extremely nice people. They will be use you to do your best but understand that beginners will not go as hard or fast as experienced students. They only push you to do the best you can an improve.Highly recommended for anyone to at least give it a shot to see if it’s for you.The head teacher is great with the kids to from what I saw.
Rosalynn Mccord-Bey: I love this place! The owner, Eric, and his team are compassionate people who really care about their students' goals and successes. And he really knows his stuff! I was just floored by Eric's willingness to take the time to answer all of my questions and to help me figure out a training plan. You will love this place and the people! It doesn't matter whether you're a man or woman, you just walk out of there feeling empowered!
Riverside MoSoapCo: My 13 year old daughter has transformed. I will be forever grateful for this school. My only regret is that we didn't start sooner.
rebecca smith: Eric is the best instructor I've ever had and I've had a few
Bobbi Sharp: I have been training at SDG since 2014. It is a great place to learn proper technique and put those techniques to use with drills. The information and techniques learned are invaluable. It’s a comfortable setting but you will be pushed to ensure that should you ever need to use what you learn, you’re ready to defend yourself.
Jennifer Topf: I’ve been training here for almost five years. Eric is a knowledgeable and patient teacher. New material frequently and applications to real world scenarios. Family friendly and Female friendly environment. Great way to lose weight and or feel empowered.
Amy Mark: Eric did a wonderful self defense presentation at our office. He kept everyone’s attention, provided great information, and even did a demonstration. Thank you!
Lenny Sollars: Great school, great self defense system. You want to get in top notch shape go in and put the work in and you will see the results. My opinion one of the best schools and i been doing this for awhile.
Sara Meinhard: My son has attended Self-Defense Global since he was 4 and he's now a kindergartener. In addition to the physical benefits, he's learned self-discipline, respect for himself and others, the ability to concentrate, to listen, and to follow directions. Eric, the owner, is great at talking to and working with all ages of kids, coming from all different places. I highly recommend Self-Defense Global KC. (They also have birthday parties there, which was a huge hit with my son and his friends.)
Sean Knowles: Good instructors and easy to learn self defense techniques
Andrew Jackson: Very effective system but put you down if you don't buy there equipment. I trained there for about 4 months and the top instructor is very nice and sincerely love his craft. But his assistant is very cocky and disrespect other disciplines. Also if you can't complete the drills he get upset. Mind you I'm am not a trained athlete. I am someone who is trying to learn.. Let me be clear they are very good at the training but need better customer service.

Warriors Academy KC: what do users think?
BrandonZerbe Libre: I’ve trained with my fair share of coaches and instructors. The staff here are world-class. Don’t believe me? Google them, or better yet just come try a class. To have access, in KC, to this level of training with coaches of this caliber is rare! No BS self-defense with their Krav program , competitive BJJ team, also a top-notch kids program for BJJ, coaches really take the time. It’s completely worth it. I won’t train anywhere else
Daniel Turner: 6 months in and not a single complaint, great place to push yourself and meet awesome people! The instructors care about your goals and help you every step of the way
Carlos Prince: Great energy in the gym everyone students and coaches make you feel welcome you can be yourself
Diago Hernandez: Great gym! Treats you like family!
Fisher Page: If your wanting the best possible experience for MMA, self defense, or a kickass workout this is the place to go hands down!
Leroy Arey: Great place to train. I hadn't trained in kickboxing for many years, but was welcomed. The place has very good, patient instructors that are happy to work with you. If you are interested in this, I highly recommend it.
Michael Um: I travel regularly for work and look for places to roll away from my home gym. I stopped by Warriors Academy while on a visit to KC, for a Jiu-Jitsu class. The instructor and students were very welcoming. The instructor was obviously very knowledgeable and allowed for, what I believe to be, an appropriate amount of time to drill the techniques he was teaching. We also spent some time rolling after the techniques part of the class, the atmosphere was great, awesome training partners and a great facility. If you're considering starting in Jiu-Jitsu, this would be a great place to get started. I'll definitely be back when in town and hope to be able to comment on some of the other types of classes. Thanks Warriors Academy KC!
Nicco Hamilton: Best place to learn self defense mma boxing bjj muay thai and kickboxing
JK Alston: Even though I don't live as close as I used to, I still train here and when my toddler is old enough, she will train in BJJ & hopefully also kickboxing here. I trust Chip as a BJJ youth instructor and hope he'll still be here when my daughter is 5.I moved from KCMO to Independence and I live very close to 2 martial arts schools in Independence and I will be staying with WAKC and not training at a closer place. Coach Frass cares about his students and helps us with not just self-defense but also mental wellness and being in shape. Dani, Bryan & Benda are also A+ coaches and people that I look forward to having teach my daughter how to defend herself and in Dani's case how to be a confident woman. The MMA program is well managed by Coach Tyler and there is a good group of guys and women in MMA. There are people of all races that train here and we have a lot of women that train at WAKC so it's a good place to meet different kinds of people. Also, on the social tip, I am able to speak my mind to people at this gym freely and be disagreed with respectably and in these days and times, people are ostracized for having the wrong opinion so this is a breath of fresh air.
Ameer Abood: Great atmosphere and amazing staff. They welcome all levels, including me as a beginner.
Mat Nguyen: First of all, if you're interested take them up on the trial class. It's the best way to see if it's what you're looking for. That being said, it wasn't a fit for me for a few reasons, but I'm glad I tried it out. I'm an adult and just did the one trial class but here's the key things I learned:- this isn't a place to get in shape, it's a place to train and learn how to fight. Of course you'll get in better shape doing that, but there's a minimum you need to be able to do to get the most out of the class.- you should either know some general fighting terminology to keep up, or know that you don't know and ask. I went in blind and have never watched a professional fight before so didn't know what I didn't know - but I have an idea now!- Tyler is an active fighter, so everything he teaches comes from a very practical place. The session I attended was good for all skill levels. While I won't be signing up (yet?) It definitely got me interested in the sport.
Renea Simpson: I have been taking Krav classes for over a year and have never regretted signing up. My confidence has grown and I am in better shape both physically and mentally since starting. The instructors are really great. They have patience with me when I am struggling with a new move but will also push me out of my comfort zone when needed. Everyone I have met there so far is is extremely nice and welcoming.
Phil B: Positive:Professionalism,QualityI cannot recommend this gym enough for your self-defense, BJJ, Muay Thai or MMA training! They even have a great Yoga program! I have been training there for over 7 years and it been worth every minute and every penny!
Kayde Burton: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI fight for this gym and have since the summer of 2021. This gym is so amazing I even moved an hour and a half from my hometown just for this gym.
Wyatt Preston: Absolutely the best martial art gym in KCThe instructors are all amazing and this is the place to learn how to defend yourself, get into shape, and have a TON of fun on top of it. Coming here is one of the best decisions I've ever made for myself.
yusef dia: This is the place to be if you actually want to fight. You can find plenty of legit martial arts and other boxing gyms in KC, but if you want to fight MMA, Muay Thai, or Kickboxing this is the place. These guys can get you an Amateur fight in 90 days if you want and have the skills for it. This gym spars often and trains hard. Class time isn't wasted on katas or ineffective warmups. Unlike other gyms you don't spend 90 minutes hitting the bag or pads, almost everything is based around actually executing effective strikes on a live opponent in Dutch style training.
adelin baynum: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Kim Hall: This is a great place to workout and learn self defense. They will meet you at the level you are at and work with what you have. I love learning and trying new skills in class. I’m so thankful they kept working with me when I couldn’t do one single push-up or burpee. Now 3.5 years later my health is better in my fifties than when I was in my thirties and forties. One of the best things about the academy is the instructors. They are professional and will push you to do your best. I can tell they really care about their students safety in and out of class. I’m healthier and have more confidence and skill than when I first started. And for that I’m forever grateful to the best instructors in KC.
shannon day: Positive:ValueI have been training under Frass Azab for over 8 yrs. There are many students that have trained under him as long or longer. Its a testament to the quality, care, and professionalism the gym and staff exude.
Rory Schwass: I’ve been fighting for 12 years and, after being to some really bad gyms, I’ve become extremely picky with where I choose to train. Warrior’s Academy checks all of the boxes I require before I commit to training somewhere.

POW Martial Arts: what do users think?
Latosha Mckenzie: Love this place wide range of beautiful people, my son is more focus and discipline. Master Coleman is awesome
Rachel Francis: Our 8-year-old son has been participating in POW for more than a year. Prior to attending POW, he was receiving Physical Therapy for muscle tightness and weakness. His doctor has been so pleased with the increase in mobility achieved by attending POW, we were able to discontinue PT. Our son loves POW and looks forward to classes. Master Coleman is amazing with the children he teaches. Not only is our son getting the PT he needs, he’s also learning discipline, bully defense and other skills. We are so thankful we found the POW family.
Jefnah Kamal: - Shopping around for a martial arts class was such an overwhelming experience. I sat down with my kiddo, and I asked him, what are the top three things he wants to experience in a martial arts class. He said, " 1. I want to like my teacher, 2. I want to be able to slice a board open with my hands. 3. I want the class to not be long.He loves the instructors at POW. Loves how he interacts with them. I love that they are kind and set boundaries for the kids. they practice respect, endurance, fitness, and giving it all you got while having a good time. We wont be slicing boards anytime soon. However, he decided despite that we should stay and continue to grow in our skills. I agree with his choice and love that the classes are 30mins in length!
Elizia Lewis: This is the BEST decision I’ve made ! Putting my son in this class with Master Coleman *chefs kiss* Very affordable and WORTH IT . My son lovessss this class I’m so grateful 3
Brian Borgmeyer: POW is an amazing place! Master Coleman does a great job teaching the classes and focusing on each person doing their best. Our daughter has been going here for a little over a year and has experienced something that she will continue throughout her entire life. A sense of community and awareness of others along with the healthy component of staying in shape while being able to defend herself or help others if she needs to. POW by far is one of the greatest experience for our family!
Jeff Witcher: We initially started POW through our son having a fascination with ninjas but quickly learned POW is so much more than that.Master Coleman is revered by his students and parents, because he and Mr. Coleman bring care, attention and fairness to each student. This is not just kicks and punches, throws and belts. It’s life skills:- Communication- Confidence- Teamwork- Accountability- Perseverance- Reporting incidents properly- Speaking to adultsOur son is more confident, more respectful and far more capable of talking to adults since having started at POW. He’s also learned some difficult-to-teach lessons along the way: How to deal with disappointment, how to be strong when things are difficult and powering through. As a parent, it’s easy to feel like different things aren’t sinking in with your kids. Having lessons like this instilled by leadership figures like Master Coleman and Mr. Coleman can be hugely influential in your child’s development.
Adam England: We attended POW for 2 years. Master Coleman is a talented martial artist, and a good teacher. The move from the "small kids" to the "big kids" program is run in an arbitrary fashion, and they need to improve the process.
Parrish Baker: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueA life changing experience for my son.
Kristy Warner: It is a great place for Martial Arts.
charles dablaing: One of the best martial arts studios I have been to, absolutely the best for kids.
Derek Berdine: It's been over 20 years since I took martial arts classes, and I feel super lucky that Mr. Coleman opened POW right in my neighborhood. His philosophy on what martial arts is (and is not) fits exactly with mine, and the flexible class schedule has been working out very nicely with my busy life. My 8-year-old daughter is also taking lessons and she loves it, too. His manner with the kids is excellent, keeping them engaged and having fun, even with a pack of 12 or more on the mat! They have only been open a few months, but Mr. Coleman is putting all of his 25 years of experience into it, and it will only get better. Whether you are looking for serious self-defense training or just some super effective physical fitness, you have to check out POW!
Trixie mg: My kiddos are 5 and 4 yrs old and they love karate classes. Mr. Coleman and the staff are patient. They teach the kids how to be respectful to others and rewards are earned.
Jared Warner: Mr Coleman is great with the kids. I have never seen an instructor get the kids engaged and have fun. I liked watching my son learning so much I joined myself! Try it it is good exercise and it always helps to learn how to protect oneself.
Jessica Hutton: Our 3.5-yr-old and 6-yr-old are both enrolled in the Tigers program. This is our first experience with martial arts, and we've been participating for about four months. Mr. Coleman has a real knack for working with the younger kiddos. He can manage behavior, minimize distraction, make the kids laugh, AND teach content in a 30-minute class better than many preschool teachers. He focuses on the whole person rather than just the execution of the moves and rewards manners, courtesy, focus, effort, and good sportsmanship above perfect execution. He's mindful of making sure the kids have a positive experience and that the families are involved and offering encouragement to the kids. He's also gone out of his way to give a little extra to help our kids learn and have fun. I showed up for a class on a different day with a different time slot than we usually go to right as the class was ending (I remembered the class time wrong). Mr. Coleman gave my boys a special lesson between his other classes just to make sure they got some practice in that day. He also hosted a birthday party lesson for my son's 6th birthday, which all the kids loved. We've had a great experience with Mr. Coleman and all the staff!
Bryan Adams: I’ve been a student at POW Martial Arts for several month now and I’m really enjoying it!
Beth Omecene Epperson: World class service and friendly staff!!!Definitely the right fit for our family!!!

Aplomb Martial Arts Brookside: what do users think?
Doug Martens: I personally haven't begun any sort of lessons, however, have met the owner and experienced a little of his teachings. He's a great guy. I recommend giving him a try
Chris Mack: Positive:Professionalism,ValueThe instructors work hard to provide quality instruction in an ever evolving style of martial arts.
Libby May: We love Aplomb MA. The staff is very friendly.
Innovative Group: I enrolled my 7 year old son in classes today
Griffin Peoples: Everything is Fine.!
Jonathan Clarkson: A fun and life changing experience! Sensei Karen is both a great teacher and a great motivator. Aplomb is an accepting place of tolerance that welcomes anyone in to the dojo, and we are bound together as a family by our love for the art. To anyone who has ever considered doing martial arts, and even to those who haven't, taking advantage of the free introductory class will be a positive experience for you, even if you choose not to stay. Cannot recommend this experience enough!
Tara Atkinson: Our family has been a part of the dojo since March of this year and we couldn’t be happier with Sensei Karen. Our oldest is autistic and decided to join the dojo two weeks ago with her younger brothers, after attending a free class. Both boys are finally coming out of their shells and working on finding a new level of confidence. I’m grateful we found USSD and were welcomed with open arms to the dojo.
Josh Woolley: I've been a student here for about a month. There are people off all different skill levels. All are welcome here. The instructors are patient with everyone and offer personalized one on one training sessions to gauge what needs to be worked on and what a persons strengths are. Definitely check it out if your interested in self-defense or just physical fitness. You'll definitely sweat if your not used to it.
Miss Grimm: My daughter has been going here for about a month now. She is 2 and usually quite shy. Since going she has learned a lot and is becoming less shy not just in class but in every day life. I have also noticed a huge change in her behaviour, she was showing a lot of anger and rude behavior especially towards other kids and now she is happy and enjoys other kids company. The sensai is great with teaching and especially with her patience for young children. Overall my expectations have been beat 1000% and I would recommend the USSD Brookeside to any and everyone for sure!
Carolyn McManigal: My son has been taking classes and private lessons at USSD Brookside for almost a year now, and he absolutely loves it. Shaolin Kempo is the first physical activity that he has participated in that has not only kept his interest, but also helped with his concentration and discipline.Sensei Karen does a fantastic job teaching both children and adults. In fact, the classes looked like so much fun that I joined too. My physical conditioning has improved tremendously since starting. Learning both the physical and philosophical aspects of martial arts has been a wonderful addition to both our lives. I highly recommend USSD Brookside.
Donna Slade: Excellent my grandkids love being in the Karate class
Todd Ide: I was originally interested in getting my son into a physical activity. I thought that learning self defense was a great extra, also! But the benefits of learning self discipline, respect for others and vastly increased coordination and strength has turned out to be what I appreciate most about Sensei Karen at the Brookside USSD! Sensei Karen is not only good at teaching adults and young adults, but I have seen her keeping a whole class of tiny tots under control and enjoying learning karate! USSD also sells workout and sparring gear and martial arts weapons.
Arcella Willis: Sensei Karen is amazing with the kids.
Angie Long: My 9 year old son started at USSD in Brookside last March and he says the following "it's so much fun! Karate is a great sport. The senseis teach you so much. It makes you stronger and you learn patience and discipline. Sensei Karen is a wonderful teacher. Kempo is the greatest experience ever."
Kate Whittaker: My daughter really enjoys learning Kemp at USSD Brookside. It’s a very kid-friendly atmosphere, and the senseis are very positive and encouraging. They also make learning the moves and defenses fun for the kids.
Laura Brooks: My son enjoys a variety of sports, but Kempo is the first one that he has actively wanted to go to every day available and practice at home. I have been very impressed with Sensei Karen's ability to motivate and encourage students to achieve their best. We are very happy with the program and would recommend it for anyone wishing to try martial arts.
fortnite isaiah gang og squad: Am a student at the brookside dojo and my grandsons as well and we have a wonderful time, it's must exciting journey for myself it's helped my back situation, and as helped my grandsons with bully problems and they have more confidents in there self's now we appreciate you guys.
Hudson Kuechler: This is an amazing Martial Arts class, it will teach you how to defend yourselves in situations, and it is a good workout for people of all ages!
Mary Kay McGinty: I have been training with USSD for 3 years and feel I have become stronger and more self confident. I like learning how to defend myself and all the women teachers make great role models. I find the flow of the forms especially satisfying and learning Southern, Northern, and Stature of the Crane has been exciting. My favorite part of Kempo has to be weapons training with the Bo staff. I feel like it is an extension of my body and while anyone can train in karate, I feel that learning Bo staff is a special gift. I recommend this dojo to anyone looking to learn karate and grow in confidence.

Gracie Humaita Jiu-Jitsu Kansas City - MMA Training - Judo - Wrestling: what do users think?
Super Nintentuk: Used to go here great teachers and builds up nice teamwork skills
Ellen Montgomery: My son is in the younger kids for Jiu-Jitsu… and I couldn’t be happier!!! Everyone is GREAT! My son is 5 and everyone has such patience to catch him up to speed! Carlos is amazing! My sons brags about his teacher all the time! He looks forward to it being Wednesday every single day! This place is so personable and very organized. You will not regret your decision on coming here! Amazing!!!
Zac Clark: I started training in September of 22. It's been about 7 months and the amount of balance and happiness I've derived from attending classes on a consistent basis was quite surprising. Feels like I've actually found a purpose in life. All the coaches are kind and intuitive and every student I've met has been a delight. I'm not gonna stop coming anytime soon and I strongly recommend GHKC for your combat sport ambitions. If you know you have grit and a non-quit mindset and you enjoy pushing yourself to new levels then this is the place for you.
Caleb Garbuio: I was visiting KC and the students and teachers went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and included. The training is excellent and helped me prepare for a tournament that weekend. Could not recommend more!
Rob Lowe: 1 Million Stars!! 2 Kids in the Kids Program, My Daughter Started about a month ago and loves it. My son has been coming for about 9 Months and just received his first stripe!!! This has become much more than a "sport" or "activity" for them to get into, it truly is a real family! I feel like I owe all the coaches, especially Coach Anthony and definitely Coach Carlos, the biggest Thank You possible for not only giving my kids confidence and skills for life but also life lessons that will last forever!!
Ryan Adams: Dropped in while visiting from out of town. Very friendly crew and great instruction. I definitely learned a thing or two and felt very welcome
Kord Guess: I’ve attended many different schools throughout the country for drop in classes and intro classes, and this one is the best i’ve been to. it’s chill, welcoming, and when i was going through financial problems i was always told “don’t worry just come to class”. they genuinely believe and teach that as long as you come to class not only will you get better you’ll improve your life outside the gym, and you’ll bring that back to the gym. Can’t wait to move back and get the kids back in. They don’t want your money, they need it to keep the business running, but they really want you to be a functioning member of the family.
Mark Crawford: They genuinely treat everyone like family. Large classes and the instructor still knows every child's name. Very accepting and will work with the kids and give a positive tough love feel which kids need. Can't say enough positive things about this school.
Cody Bratton: I’ve been training at GHKC for over a year now and love it. It has the best community where new white belts are supported and the instruction from black belts is outstanding, as is the teaching from brown, purple, and blue belts as well.I’ve made great friends and learned to love the journey. There’s lots of availability for classes in gi and no gi, and opportunities to roll after every session. The ownership is constantly renovating to improve the facility.GHKC is also very balanced between self-defense and competition philosophies. Everyone is welcome. Sign up for the onboarding if you’re new for a great intro to Jiu Jitsu. It’s the best stress management I’ve found, and well worth the investment.
Nate: We are in the program designed around younger kids and kids new to Jiu-Jitsu and we couldn’t be happier. They allow you to come in and experience some classes before you commit to ensure it’s the right place for your child. My son was so scared the first lesson and Sunny(one of the instructors) engaged him and got him on the mat and the next thing you know he’s all in. Carlos does a great job teaching the kids, he also is great with the newer students . It feels more like a community versus just a class. Very much like a community. I would recommend them to anyone and frankly I trust them with my children so that shows how good they really are.
Ryan Trinder: I travel to KC about twice a year, and when visiting I always catch a class at Gracie Humaita. Every class I attend, I am amazed at the teaching, the students, and the skill they all have. The white belts are learning techniques I've never covered at the bjj gym I attend in NYC.Excellent people here, willing to work with you on developing and improving your bjj skills. Go!
Mission Mike (Michael Kilmartin): So my wife and I travel a bunch for mission work, and I love to train as we go. That being said, I’ve probably visited over 200+ mma and bjj academies, and I had to stop and take a moment to shout out this academy! Gracie Humaita Kansas City is on another leve!! Professor Graeber is UNBELIEVABLE!! He is an INCREDIBLE instructor, and his passion for teaching is amazing! His students are super talented, and his level of detail on techniques makes it so easy to learn. And from the moment I walked in, he treated me like family. I cannot recommend this academy enough, and I cannot recommend visiting this place enough! Check them out for yourself! Whether brand new, or a veteran to the game, you WILL LEARN something new, while feeling right at home! :)
Brandon Jenkins: Great place to train whether you're looking for a home gym or you're traveling. 3 black belt instructors. Traditional yet up to date with the modern sport.
Vargas Lisa: Gracie Humaita has the most family atmosphere. Everyone is greeted with love when they enter and is instantly treated like family. Kids class is top notch. Carlos is disciplined for sure, but loves every kid individually and they love and respect him back. ❤ Highly recommend.
Jeremy Clark: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueGreat atmosphere, great instruction.
Brew 167: Positive:QualityEveryone I’ve encountered has been respectful and friendly. The instructors are thorough and knowledgeable at every training session. A wonderful community.
Anthony Caracci: Best in KC! Two children in the kids program and couldn’t be happier with our experience.
Aaron Drew: I had the pleasure of dropping in for a class while travelling to KC for work. Everyone was super welcoming. Carlos ran a great class with fun warmups, good drilling and solid techniques. I only had time to stick around for a couple of rolls, but the atmosphere was friendly and the top pressure was heavy (just how it should be!) Thanks guys and I can't wait to stop by next time I'm in town.
lizzy Carpenter: This is the best place in Kansas City for Jiu-Jitsu.
Jayne Zamora: Instructor really cares & you're treated like family.
Colton Crawford: I stopped by the gym over two years ago and just stopped in again today. Mike remembered me by name, and welcomed me back with open arms. Awesome laid-back atmosphere, very visitor-friendly. I can't wait until my next stop in KC!

Integrity Martial Arts Academy: what do users think?
Star Hider: I ABSOLUTELY love this place. They are very welcoming and make the kid's strive to be better not just physically but mentally and spiritually. My daughter wishes this was an actual academic school along with being a dojo lol.
Sandra Thornhill: Our son has been attending this program since he was 3. His focus and desire to challenge himself physically and mentally (while also having LOADS of fun) is realized here. Sensei David captures the spirit, focus, and trust of little ones in a genuine way that propels them to want to be the best versions of themselves. It is important to me that Son see’s himself in spaces of learning and development. Representation matters. At Integrity Martial Arts, Son trains with leaders who look like him while also being surrounded by a myriad of people who represent all types of shapes, sizes, abilities, colors, religions, cultures+. It is a beautiful space to be in.
steven buckner: Great instructors, great environment, the teachings are realistic and belts / promotions are earned.
Vivid Events KC: Extremely professional sensei, very organized and prompt. My son looks forward to coming to every single training. If he is late or have to miss a session he is really upset with me. We found a gem!
Prince Julien's Creations: I’d like to keep this a secret to have it all to ourselves… but this place is the real deal. We have been going here for years and it has made such a positive impact on our 9 year old. Truly a decision that will have a lifetime of rewards.
Lakshmi Shiva Ganesh Sontenam: The best place to learn an art, self confidence, get faster reflexes, build strength, improve concentration and give yourself a full workout.Karate gave me a focus point and a healthy alternative. I am grateful to have found Kyoshi Muhammad and Sensei David as I rarely saw such selfless/giveback(to the community) personalities in this unfair world. They have got lots & lots of real world experience both in competitions, teaching and enjoy learning new techniques themselves only to adapt them in the training for a fresh perspective. You will never get bored and this academy can only make you a better person physically and mentally with good amount of friends :) I miss them!Ethics, self control and proper technique comes first here than speed and ranks.. Praise and titles comes last. False sense of entitlement and privileges is not in their books. I personally felt, this place is a chance to understand your fullest potential in life(with humility) and get trained in that direction… ❤️
Chris Prewitt: Awesome school
The Wiseguys TCG: Heaven on EarthSpend long enough there you’ll understand why. 10 out of 5 stars. Great program for the kids and adults and endless amounts of knowledge to learn!
Kesi Milligan: My son loves it and the entire staff cares about what they have to offer and the children they teach.
Wafaa: My son loves it here!
April Shields: My son loves it here. Mr David is great with the kids and it's fun to watch.
T. Moses: Sensi is the best! Equipping my child with nuggets for a solid foundation.
Kiffany Bosserman: Positive:ProfessionalismWonderful studio! My oldest son goes there and he loves it. I highly recommend it!
shantay coleman: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueMy Son loves it!
Yolanda Marshall: Great instructors and patience with children
Greg Moore: Our 5 year-old son took part in the classes before scheduling conflicts forced us to take a break for now. My wife and I were blown away by how organized, educational, and professional these martial arts classes were done. Our son, who is a stereotypical unfocused kiddo, loved it and learned a lot of discipline and patience in a short amount of time. Sensei Muhammad is fantastic and has properly trained his staff to lead the right way no matter the age of the participant. It's also refreshing to see the diversity of the students. A great small business. Please support them.
Samuel Feinberg: Great teachers for my kindergartner. Very kind but very disciplined. Good equipment and facility. Highly recommend!
Vitaly Borodin: Amazing school with great and capable instructors.
sean callewaert: Two of my children attend. What a great place to learn discipline, teamwork and self defense while getting exercise. Instructors care and want students to exceed. 10 stars if I could.
Sam Yemen: Great staff and training programs. Also, convenient schedule.
Pablo Rodriguez: Great for adults and kids, but especially if you are interested in real world self defense.

Glory MMA & Fitness Northland: what do users think?
Jamie Ojeda: A little concerned my kid doesn’t have consistency regarding their Coach.
Dawn Eblen: Glory is a great fit for our family as my husband and son both do jui jitsu while I do the kickboxing classes! Great workout!
Steve Mattice: Our family has been coming here for almost 5 years. I can't say enough great things about the staff and the folks that train here.
Ying Chow: Dropped into MMA classes for a few weeks while staying with family in Kansas City during the holiday-- I absolutely loved this gym and would absolutely train here full time if I lived here! I learned so much, and really loved the vibes and atmosphere at this gym. 10/10 recommend :)
Justin Hunt: Positive:ProfessionalismGreat gym, experienced coaches, and welcome atmosphere.
Carson Gorman: Grew up boxing, started BJJ about a month ago. The comradarie and welcoming at Glory is second to none. Every coach and training partner I've trained with has been awesome to mentor under.
Bruce Crosby: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI love going to this gym. I was worried about starting at 40, but everyone is willing to work with you. I’ve been going for over a year and miss the gym and people if I can’t make it in. They have great kids programs as well. Our 10 year old loves the class and coaches.
Christian Ringer: Best gym chain in the area guaranteed. They teach a variety of skills regarding fighting, also the head coach of the bjj and mma classes is a UFC fighter. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to get better at self defense or even cut a few lbs for your summer figure.
Jim Rusconi: Awesome staff
Earl Fowler: One of the top Northland fitness gyms in my opinion. You can plan on a great full body, gut wrenching, stress relieving workout, day in and day out. Instructors are very positive and encourage everyone to work hard .
Gerardo Mena: Wonderful place. Clean. Everyone is here to work hard towards their goals. Great atmosphere.
Haleigh: Positive:Communication,Quality,Value
Marti Belle: I walked into Glory MMA over a year ago and my experience has been amazing. I started off just doing the GloryFit classes, they are amazing cardio classes taught my amazing coaches. Each coach has a different style so no two classes are ever the same. The coaches work with you to keep you up to speed but also challenge you every class. It’s a great atmosphere and definitely a great value.
Brandon Liberty: Positive:ProfessionalismStaff and coaches are amazing. Great friendly place to train. Lot of great people.
jordan washington: Glory has the best gyms in the Midwest, best instructors, best staff! Highly recommended!
Brian Evans: One of the best BJJ and MMA experiences I’ve ever had. I was brand new in BJJ and welcomed with open arms. Zak & Matt run a family oriented but serious training environment. Whether you’ve never stepped on the mats before and want to start training, or need a hardcore coach to push you to the next level in the fight game. GLORY is the place to be!
Joe Hurtig: I found Glory through a trainer at another gym in 2016. I had always wanted to learn some martial art, and MMA striking seemed like a great introduction. I joined and immediately found an awesome group of coaches and friends. This place is more than a gym, it’s a community. The coaches really care about helping people achieve all their goals (look for the black chalk board wall with all the goals on them), not just fitness goals. They are kind, but hold people accountable. And most importantly, the leadership team leads by example! Since joining, I have seen them invest and reinvest into their gym. They have expanded, invested in new equipment, new mats, and have created a clean and comfortable and welcoming environment. There are a lot real fighters that train at Glory every day, but everyone has a place here. If you are interested in simply burning calories and getting more fit, give their GloryFit class a try. If you want to learn boxing/kickboxing, they have put together a an excellent striking program. I went from barely being able to throw a punch to feeling comfortable live sparring with others within a year. If you are more interested in grappling, their Brizalian Jiu Jitsu program is top notch, being led by some best black and brown belt coaches around. You won’t find a better group of men and women to train with either! These people push themselves and the people around them to be better than they thought possible!10/10 would recommend checking Glory MMA and Fitness out if you have any interest at all! I promise, it will exceed your expectations...it did mine at least!
Antonio Carmona: Love it
Sam Coronado: Coach Zak Cummings is an amazing and talented instructor, leader, fighter and person in general. Same can be said about every other instructor, as well. The gyms atmosphere is always welcoming and everyone’s focused on bettering themselves and each other always.

Lee's Chinese Martial Arts Federation: what do users think?
Khufu Haki: This is a Grand Master Kung Fu teacher who has been teaching my Sun for about 7 years now. I can see the structure in his confidence, focused mindset, innerstanding of his purpose, and his fight skill level has improved
Michelle Huntington: My two boys (ages 10 and 12) and I love this place. The instructor is firm but dedicated to teaching and truly getting through to all his students no matter their age, ability, or mental makeup. He has strengthened the character and even the health of my sons and I would definitely recommend his classes to anyone interested in getting fit, growing in their personal discipline or just seeking to learn in a fun environment with likeminded people.
Khairi - idea videos for Everyone: Respect to all other forms .. this Grand Master has the energy that will Bless the children, youths, and adults .. He's very choosy about who he shares his Kung-fu style with to weed out negative energy .. more than just fighting or self defense, it's about a choice to be better
Casey Gilmer: This school is great! I always feel welcome at every class and have a deeper appreciation for this style. Sifu doesn't only teach you defense and attack techniques but the philosophy behind it. Your achievements are earned and he helps build confidence in being a leader. He also takes time to focus on each student and their well being.
Brandon Edgerson: It is rare that I write any reviews for any business. I have written under 5 in my life, so please understand I'm coming from a place when I say this school is simply amazing. Every time I come HOME to the school I smile and thank God for this place. It's such an honor to be surrounded by such amazing talent not only from Master Lee, but from the students as well. The learning environment here is simply amazing. There are no ego's or star pupils, just constant learning. Master Lee is a phenomenal martial arts instructor and a overall good person. He is no push over. You will work here. Master Lee truly has been a huge blessing in my life. He helped me to overcome some severe health challenges which has helped me to find balance in several unexpected ways as well. The skills taught here are very efficient and effective.
Ryan Anderson: It's been an incredible and humbling experience to train here. Master Lee is extremely competent and devoted to teaching his students correct principles not only for learning self-defense, but for a better life. I've grown as a martial artist and as a person. I'm grateful for his dedication to serving God and to our Savior, Jesus Christ. I love how God is central to the teaching of this inspiring martial art! Thank you, Master Lee!
Amber Crenshaw: This place is amazing! NOT a belt factory. What you get is what you truly earn. Hard work pays off. My son has learned so much from Master Lee as well as the other students. If you really want to learn true Kung-Fu, this is the place to be!
Daniel Dano: I signed up here after I had read his website stating he teaches “Wing Chun, Choy Li Fut, and Wing Chun Fut” I kept asking if he teaches Choy Li Fut because that is the art that I want to learn he keeps sweeping this under the rug. I feel I have wasted my time training here. And when I asked to cancel he said there is nothing he could do. Seek another school this is not it.
Tevin Lim: 2 years ago this master Lee managed to lie to me about his curriculum and tricked me into giving him my personal information. After finding out by actually attending only a few classes i decided to leave. I even read the contract saying i can leave within 30 days and i did after he agreed. After that the contract agency kept harassing to pay $2,000 dollars for only 5 classes, afterwards i consulted with a lawyer and even sent a letter explaining to the contract agency the contract is RECINDED and they still kept asking for money. Just be aware that master Lee will lie to you and ask you for your social security number and make the "real estate investor" excuse. He only cares about showing off his youngest black belt(nothing against his student) instead of teaching you what you paid for.
christopher church: Very insightful! Loves a walking fight challenge!
Shandalla Rumack: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Value
Lateefah Dixon: As I sit here at my 21 year old sons belt ceremony, I realize one that being a parent does not come with a "How to" guide. I'm still learning and I thank God for Master Lee and his teaching. Words cannot describe the feelings that I'm feeling knowing that my son who was misdiagnosed with ADHD as a very small child and placed on medication for years. I tried in school and club sports to help motivate and help discipline him. Never giving up on him I continued to push him. Only wanting to see him strive in whatever he does. He found this place and I can honestly say I see him coming into his own. I am very grateful for Master Lee and his ability to reach my son at a time when he really was trying to find his way. I will forever support this organization. While my children have all grown up, I look forward to putting my grandchildren right in here. We live, we learn, and we grow and do better!! If I had it to over I would have brought all three of my children here at age 3. Thank You Master Lee.
Tino Camacho: I Started my son at the age of 3 at a super expensive place in leawood ,ks. While yes, they did provide training, and there was a certain amount of incentive for obeying your parents, there was zero character building. There was no attempt at all to teach respectfullness, thoughtfulness, or compassion between the children. While master lee at the time only took kids 5 and older he was good enough to give my son the opportunity to show his focus and disipline and allowed him to be a part of his school. At times the class may seem a little unorganized he allows the kids to work it out, he lets them teach each other, and at times lead the class. Its all part of the character building process...Without character ,no amount of training will get you through a tough situation, whether it be a fight or life.....fast forward 3yrs later.... my son has placed in all the tournaments he has fought in, and won one of them. He has won both of his boxing matches, and is the most cosiderate, well behaved 6yr olds I have ever seen...Some of his students who had been bullied at school used what they learned to sucessfully defend themselves against agressors.... Defence is a priority in his school. So what the kids learn here has real life practical application. At the end of the day I am so glad i found Master Lee and am proud that we are a part of his family.
Renae P: Everyone is so welcoming and yet serious about their training! I love how all students are expected to be able to teach, but Master Lee still fights and practices also. Definitely an environment of learning and not competition! We plan on bringing our whole family here as our kids get older!
Sean Albillar: Been going here a few years now. What brought me to this school was that I was introduced to it as a place to heal and improve yourself. Yes, you will learn to fight, but Master Lee teaches far more than that. This school is built on mutual support and personal growth. Students are encouraged to help each other improve their skills over competition. Whether you want to be a great fighter, or simply need a low impact workout to stay in shape. Lee's Chinese Martial Arts has the classes, patience, and discipline to make it so.
lhillhou: I love this place! Even after moving I have still kept everything I have learned with me. The prices are reasonable and the instruction is easy to understand. I not only changed physically but also mentally. If there is one place that wants you to do well it is here. You will leave feeling more comfortable not only as a martial artist but as a person.
Matthew Kuba: This school will teach you gung fu.
