Matt Triplett: Absolute waste of time trying to get a copy of a police report. The records people are terrible and no wonder people complain about them all the time, waste of tax dollars. Said it will take a month to get a police report, in every other city it’s taken maybe 5 business days.

Deston Howard: Hopefully your vehicle doesn't get broken into, property theft in a vehicle is a non-issue for KCMO. I had a stolen phone turn up on Facebook marketplace, buyer had seller contact info, couldn't even get the "detective" on the phone after 4 voicemails and 6 calls. Its a corporate device with monitoring, they couldn't be bothered to answer the phone.

Ashley Kuykendall: I was assaulted by the kcmo ambulance department because kcpd called an ambulance due to medical reasons. The department lied on the reports and after complaining about the treatment I got, the investigation was dismissed claiming nothing wrong was done. I was assaulted in front of the Kansas City police department and they did nothing but treated me a patient, like a suspect. It was ridiculous and I never seen or heard nothing like this in my life. The KCPD has poor customer service and lies on reports to coverup their use of excessive force and when they assault people or witness their colleagues assault citizens for no reason. The ambulance worker was kneeing me in the stomach and I am a young black female. He was a white male who was much larger then me. All of this occurred while KCPD had me in handcuffs and I was on the ground. Some of these people in this department is racist. It is the sad truth. The KCPD has surveillance footage of the entire incident and refused to review the tape to prove my claims of being assaulted and that they lied on the reports. After emailing people higher up in the department I finally got the answer on how to get footage but no response was ever given in regards to them reviewing this tape to prove my claims of being treated wrong during this incident. This department need improvement and better, ethical people policing in the communities who is not going to lie and coverup uses of excessive force and assaults done by their departments, in front of their eyes and watch without intervening and writing an accurate account of what happened in the police report. They did nothing to help me and also lied on the reports they wrote as if known of this ever happened. Having police cameras are no good when the department make it hard for you to get access to footage without a fee or when they don’t use the evidence in cases that can help the people in the community when something unethical and wrong is done by their departments. Footage is no use when they refuse to look at it. People in the community need their on cameras to record the police in the community and the way the handle situations. This department needs to be exposed of the mistreatments, lies and improper use of their position and authority. Tax dollars are being spent on a department to help the community but in most cases their lack of investigations, and their unethical treatment is actually hurting the community.

Marsha Hilton: So I'm not writing about anything deserves mega attention. However while waiting on the bus near 85th and Holmes I observed a young man who has a handicap walking up the steep hill on Holmes Rd. He uses a device on one arm. The sidewalks are still horrid after the snowfall so he was having a time trying to walk. A police officer who was in save a lot parking lot was clearing off his front seat then called the young man over and proceeded to take him up the hill. A few minutes later I seen that same officer driving through the traffic light. The number of the suv was 893 and it happened at around 10:15am. My point is this officer nor the young man didn't see me there wasn't anyone else in the parking lot he just seen a situation an acted on it. Like I said at the beginning of this review it's nothing that deserves a parade but imagine how the young man felt. Happy Holidays everyone.

I have now been waiting 17 working business days for a crash report..... Any other surrounding city takes 10 days max. How is this acceptable?

James Anderson: Waiting to serve papers for a protection order against my violent, abusive brother. Been waiting for 2 1/2 hours for an officer to arrive. No sign of anyone. We’ve seen maybe 10 cops and sheriffs pass by us with no lights, sirens, and not speeding. When I tried to call again to check to see what’s going on, the girl on the non-Emergency number was extremely rude. We even saw someone drop off a clearly stolen car to this dollar general we’re waiting at, tried calling it in and they kinda blew me off. No one came and we called it in about an hour and a half ago and still no sign of any cop to investigate. I’m sorry to the college kid who got your truck stolen, I tried reporting it.

Elethra Boss: My daughter was having some issues with my granddaughter and I took her into the police station so that a police officer could talk to her about her behavior. She is 9 years old and I didn’t want her to be afraid of police officers but I wanted to show her that her actions could have a bad outcome. The sergeant came out and spoke with her and I was very happy with him speaking with her. I want to say thank you I’m sure you had other things you could have been doing but you took time out to come out and help me. Brad Chirnside: 4 vehicles stolen in four years. Last two we stopped calling the Police. One of our trucks that was stolen was located with a Rope on its bumper and the other side of the broken rope on a fence. The responding officers didn’t tow our truck. It went on to perform more crimes involving property crimes. If they would have towed the truck, we would have had our 1977 Ford with 40k mikes on it back. It was a show truck.We have had thieves in our cars at work. They didn’t make an arrest. They just have a GOS and released subject near our business.Tonight we had a party with a pistol at our shop off Truman road. They knew it was a towing and truck repair company. The desk Sgt.Dillingham was asked to make sure that this call was handled to the fullest. I suggested looking at Google if Elite Trucking and repair and seeing other reviews of the owner being armed and showing up to businesses. Not sure if he did.I suggested calling Elite trucking and repair and having the tow truck respond and make an arrest. I was told that this isn’t how policing is done. I know for sure if I was handling the call and I had known that he had had weapons at other businesses in the past, had visited our business in the past, had threatened us with violence in the past, that I would have called in a “fake tow” and apprehended the man. The point is, it shouldn’t be okay to not take the call to the limit.I was told the TO, or staffing is 20% down from 5 years ago. I was told the police have done all they can do. I love Police and will continue to support injured or officers in need. Last year I chased a suspect in Blue Sorings that two officers pursuerd and took him into custody. We have done full hvac and water heaters for Police officers. We belong organizations that help law enforcement when they are in need. We are installing a free furnace for a Cop with ALS soon. If we get these responses I can only guess that all of our business that have chosen the mid-town area face the same thing. We just bought a new building in Kansas City bear the Police Credit union and are going to invest more than 600k in the renovation of a 110 year old building.When the Desk Sergeant is retired on duty and their is only one Sergeant on duty in all of east patrol, the worst zone in Kansas City. According to Sgt Dillingham perhaps one of the worst in the country.Go the extra mile for you are the Sheepdogs. We can’t take matters into our own hands.

One Love: WARNING BEWARE!!! The Head of Auto Release: Laquita is the most rude and unprofessional person I've ever met! She yell and over talked me the whole time I spoke with her to ask questions about releasing my vehicle. It was so bad 2 officer came out to see what the commotion was all about. After calling a non emergency line for gunshots there were 4 squads responding to similar calls in our area. We have very professional people taking all the details (bullets through the wall) of the event. d3tach4blejesus: Worst police officers in this department. My twins lived with their grandmother until recently things went really bad. Wednesday April 13th one of my son's attacked his 66 year old grandmother. One of the responding officers kept doing air quotes Everytime he said well this "assault" then decided it was better to tell me if they were his kids this would happen or that would happen etc. We didn't ask for life advice when raising kids, we asked for assistance with a 15 year old who attacked a 66 year old woman. Then today April 19th office was supposed to pick him up from kvc mental health and transport him to juvenile detention. Instead I was called and threatened with child abandonment because this officer didn't know what to do and instead of transporting him left after giving me, the kvc administrator problems and the kvc and dcf caseworker issues. Will never trust this police department again. Unreliable!!!

Lo So: Worst experience ever. Officer John at the front desk is one of the worst bureaucrats I seen in a long time. Took over an hour with a passive/non aggressive attitude to not do a dam thing all day long.

Both the court house and City Hall directed me to the KCK police department to file a complaint against the landlord. I have a lease and pay my rent. In confronting the landlord a direct threat of me and my family would be hospitalized. The officer at the front door was playing judge telling me that they would not take my report.REALLY??? In the day and age of mass shootings. All threats should be taken seriously. I'm concerned for my families safety. And the best that office could tell me was "I need to settle down." I'm no kid at 54 years of age. I left my wife home alone to get help from the police. All I got from this office was. I don't care about your issues. we're to LAZY to protect and serve the public.

I have only called non-emergency police one other time in my life a couple years ago when I heard gunshots near my previous home in midtown.This morning, 7/1/19 approx 9:00am, I made a call to request patrol on my street due to a personal reason. After just 2 minutes of conversation, she thought that she put me on hold but I heard her proceed to talk about me with her coworkers and tell them that she believes that I have a mental disorder. Then she hung up on me.I am at a loss. I wanted to utilize the "resources" available to me during a time that called for it. I am very disappointed and I feel incredibly judged. Apparently, the city can’t fix the roads but they have enough time and $ for cheap and unfair tow jobs. My fiancé’s purse and phone was in that car when it was taken. It’s too late now to get the car and her personal belongings back, until the AM. A message for KC MO proper, from a citizen that wanted to live in KC MO, but won’t now, PLEASE spend your efforts on accrediting the schools and fixing the roads/infrastructure.
