Gina Horn: Firstly, the office staff is the MOST efficient I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They are precise, accurate, they literally do everything flawlessly. I had researched surgeons for quite some time before my procedure because I wanted it to be absolutely perfect. He was always on the top 10 list so I did a little more research and looked at his photos which I was very impressed with. I was pregnant but knew I wanted to consult as soon as I could. Originally, he was booked out until November of 2022 which wouldn’t have worked at all, so I was super bummed but Wendy (she is a literal angel) said to save the office number because when they get cancellations they go down the list and offer the next available. I was two weeks post partum and a number I didn’t recognize came up but looked familiar( I didn’t save it in my phone of course) I don’t usually answer numbers I don’t know but I did for some reason. Low and behold it was Wendy and she said they had a cancellation for a consult for March 14th. This was a week away, of course I was ecstatic and immediately took the spot. I got to the office which is prestine, and lovely. I spoke with Dr. Barnthouse for about 2 hours as he went far in depth of the procedure, how he was doing what, etc….right down to it, by the end I couldn’t think of one single question to ask as he had covered everything. He even draws diagrams based on your body type on paper to physically show you what he does which is great to see. After the consult I was sure he was the one. Well they didn’t think it hey had any dates open until August which would have been terrible timing as we have a vacation, kids starting school, etc… so again, I was bummed. I decided I wanted him to matter what so I would just have it when I could so I called the office to pay the deposit and she actually told me they had an opening for MAY 31st! I couldn’t believe it, perfect timing and k would be mostly healed by summer. It was a little sooner than we planned for but we made it work and I am so grateful to Dr. Barnthouse and his impeccable office staff. They truly gave me my life back after being so unhappy for so many years

B B: Would not recommend.Pre-op was great. Dr. took a lot of time to explain the procedure. Which was why I chose him because he seemed very knowledgeable and confident.Post-op was the problem. There was no bedside manner, never saw him while in recovery before leaving. It was very obvious I was not healing correctly and my concerns were not taken seriously. I was told to "give it time to heal" even though I was several weeks out and should be returning to semi-normal activity. There was no compassion from your office. 15 months later and still just as uncomfortable and was not given any help to fix it when I returned for an opinion. Everything "looks normal" to him when it clearly is not. Referred on to another doctor and no request to stay in the loop for results from further testing I will need to do to figure out the issue. Overall I found him to be "old and cold."

Bethany Forth: Received an open-nose septoplasty with turbinate reduction to fix a breathing problem. During the healing process my breathing was worse than before. I reported this several times to Dr Singhal who advised me to, “use saline spray and Benadryl”. Also had three follow-up appointments at his office where he looked inside my nose and told me to continue saline spray and Benadryl. Six weeks later, the inside of my nose started to smell foul and my breathing was worse than ever. I also reported this to him and got the same response. The smell got so strong that I went to the emergency room. There was packing left inside both nostrils the size of tampons that had begun to rot. They had to be ripped out. He told me that, “the packing he typically uses was supposed to dissolve naturally on their own but the hospital used the wrong brand”. This could possibly be true. But I do not understand how they were allowed to remain after he examined my nose three times post-operation. Not to mention the numerous times I expressed concern over what I was experiencing. I have had two reconstructive surgeries with a different doctor since this initial procedure to correct the damage. My nose had been left with extensive scar tissue, twisted, misshapen, and still could not breathe properly. Three years later, and the journey to fix my nose is still not over. I had initially picked Dr Singhal because he had good Google reviews and took my insurance. I was also admittedly naive about the considerations to make when looking to fix a breathing issue. I would advise others to look for doctors who specialize in ENT/ nasal surgeries and not general plastic surgeons.

Sarah Johnson: I set up a consultation with Dr. Chattre for eyelid surgery and a laser peel, at the depth that only a doctor, not a tech is allowed to conduct. He charged me $50 for the consultation. Then he was 50 minutes late for our 15 minute consult. He kept trying to tell me to do several lesser laser treatments, which would cost more, rather than the single ablative one. He said it was to avoid the downtime, but I clearly told him I had planned for the downtime. I felt like he didn't listen at all and was just trying to charge me more. Finally, even though I decided not to go with him, they never gave me the quote they said they were going to send that day. Which means the $50 they said would be applied towards my surgery just evaporated. Not impressed.

Rebecca Knowles: I had a breast augmentation and tummy tuck and I highly recommend going here, the staff is very nice and made me feel comfortable during the whole process. Dr. Madhukar G. Chhatre is not only nice, but you can tell he really does care about you and I never once felt rushed when asking my many questions. He kept my incision really low and he made my breast better looking then my wish pic. so happy with my results! I hope this helps if you're on thing about having surgery.

Ryan Warren: Do not go here! I had an appointment scheduled for six weeks. I confirmed with them not once, not twice, but three times that they could help me with my condition, as it is extremely painful. I had to take off of work, and was ready for my appointment. Less than 24 hours before, they call me and tell me they can’t help me and to go somewhere else. No one deserves to be treated this way. They deserve to be shut down!

Mikaila Barbour: I scheduled a consultation a month ago and the nurse or admin woman who helped me was very kind every time we spoke. Those who checked me in at the front desk were very welcoming and nice. I had scheduled a consultation for possible skin tightening on my lower face or under the chin or neck. I truly just wanted to speak with a dr to look into options outside of filler that I have been getting or nova threads that I would prefer not to get based off what I have read from other plastic surgeons and injectors. I am a very level headed person and I unfortunately have never felt so off put or unwelcome by a doctor before. I am totally fine if a doctor does not recommend a procedure, that is not the problem. Dr Hodge was incredibly unwelcoming and the most unfriendly doctor I probably have ever encountered and I have never felt so uncomfortable in an appointment. He acted as if I was wasting his time right when he walked in the room before he evened looked at me and in the 90 seconds we spoke. Mind you the consultations are $100, and I don’t care about the money, I care about how someone treats people. I’m not sure if he was having a bad day or if he looked at my paperwork and saw what my consultation was for and my age and right off the bat, didn’t take anything I said serious. I was instantly taken back from just how he walked in the room, told me who his pre med student was, didn’t even glance at me, sanitized his hands, grabbed a mirror and asked me what I didn’t like about my face. I mean, I was so uncomfortable haha I have never met Dr Hodge before, maybe a Hi? Maybe a Hi, I’m Dr Hodge, nice to meet you? And to say I might just be spending too much time on Zoom calls staring as myself is a completely inappropriate response to a patient coming to you for a consultation . Then me responding and saying “I have never even been on a zoom call”. I was uncomfortable before he even recommended to me that I don’t do anything surgically at this time. He had two females in the consultation with him, one being a nurse and the other being a pre med student shadowing and it was the most uncomfortable situation I have ever been in. I was absolutely embarrassed with his demeanor towards myself and having those other 2 females in there listening to it all. The way he exited the room and just left without a nice to meet you, have a good day, nothing..and just said “you can leave whenever you are ready”and he walked out and closed the door..I mean I was kind of left there sitting in the patient room with no words. I was a referral from a patient of his and I am incredibly disappointed in his demeanor from the second he walked in the room with a very annoyed attitude and treated me like I was stupid. I truly hope he does not act this way towards anyone else because that was far from a good experience or encounter. Even if he recommended a surgery to me, which trust me, he made it very clear he didn’t haha..I wouldn’t return because of his attitude. I will call the office directly and also let them know my experience.

Michael Murrow: Dr. Hodge did a good job as far as placement is concerned with my wife’s breast implants, however, during the procedure one of his assistants was not paying attention & randomly burned my wife’s left breast with the cauterizing tool. She now has an unnecessary burn scar that was caused by negligence. Also, the COVID pandemic ramped up around the same time she had her surgery. Her first follow-up was rescheduled & a staff member called to ask her to do a virtual follow-up. My wife had to remind them that her sutures had not yet been removed. She was allowed to go in to have them removed, though she felt discomfort during the process due to the sutures coming out later than initially scheduled. She has not been contacted by Monarch staff regarding a follow up of any sort since nice then.

Kari Sinclair: My fiancé and I found Monarch through google searches. Loved the information on their website & decided to reach out to make an appointment. I'm very self conscious with my body, but Dr. Leahy & his nurse Maggie made me feel very comfortable from the beginning! I started the process before COVID hit, so my timeline of wanting to get surgery done was delayed a bit - at no fault of theirs. I completely understood & waited as patiently as I could (which is extremely hard for me to do). When I finally was able to do my final pre-op appointment, I got a little bummed when they said the surgery center had limited openings due to COVID and I probably wouldn't get to have my surgery anytime soon.. but Maggie managed to get me in the very NEXT week after my final pre-op appointment. I had my surgery on 5/28/2020, and to be honest - was scared to death when I was told no prescription pain meds, only Tylenol & Motrin after surgery & that I'd be back to work in 3 days (yeah right!). I swore I'd be in too much pain & it wouldn't be a good idea to follow through with the surgery. But I gotta say.. either Dr. Leahy and his surgery team are magical or they just really know their stuff. My surgery was at 3pm on Thursday, and I was able to get up before 5am the next day to get my kids off to daycare then by 12pm, I was sitting in a salon chair getting my hair cut & colored and then spent that whole weekend out and about with the kids & fiancé - never any down time. I TOTALLY could have gone to my desk job the VERY next day after getting implants. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?! OH.. and I went to a wedding 8 days after my surgery.. low cut dress and all, and my breasts/implants looked completely natural! From start to finish, Dr. Leahy and his team was up front about what was going on. The prices I was quoted, verbally & in writing (without having to ask for it to be), was all correct - I paid all of my fees up front to Monarch, Advent Surgery center, and the anesthesiologist and have never been asked to pay a dime more. I would definitely feel confident for using them for any future plastic surgery needs.

Matt _: During Covid-19 pandemic the person behind the front desk took mask off and touched face and left mask off while typing and walking around office. Then saw doctor leave office without mask on when walking down hallway to bathroom and put mask on part way down hallway.

I have been to Dr Hodge for many, many years and have always been SUPER SUPER pleased with his work and I am very picky (or so I am told). He has removed moles from all over my body, literally! Great work, very little if any scaring no matter the location! He did my breast augmentation and I love them! Would recommend Dr Hodge and have to multiple people. At least 3 women I know have had the same experience as me!

Kim Nitsche: I’ve used this location for 8 years, Botox, tummy tuck and augmentation. I’m not one to “schedule” ahead of time due to being so busy. This office will always give me three or four options to get scheduled within a very reasonable time frame. Staff very personable and appear to be happy! Dr. Hodge and Kimber are a great team and work very well together to meet their patients needs in a kind, courteous and professional manner! I also always refer any and all of my acquaintances/friends to this practice. If it is something that cannot wait, they have several surgeons that are just as great as Dr. Hodge! Have had ZERO complications or issues with the North Oak location! Much love!

Thad Newman: Caution! Get all pricing in writing before you do business with Monarch Plastic Surgery on N. Oak. I was told one price before the procedure, and billed much more than that after. When questioned, they deny and play confused. Strongly advise to look elsewhere for your needs.

Zoë Poehlman: Dr. Hodge and staff are wonderful!! I saw both he and Dr. Leahy for Botox and was treated with respect, in a timely manner. They explained the procedure before hand, worked within my budgeted limits and results were great. The aesthetician, Jennifer, is phenomenal. Seriously SO good at her job: knowledgeable, kind and helped my skin get to a point where I can go without makeup and not feel embarrassed. I would recommend and have recommended Monarch to many!

Barb Eckelmann: I went in, their system of putting in information doesn’t work. They want ALL RECORDS when you go. Their PA thinks she’s hot stuff and god almighty a platinum blonde isn’t my idea of impressive. Totally unprofessional, no equipment for X-rays or anything else. They are ill equipped to do anything and it’s the patients fault. Honestly, I would not let this guy touch me in a surgical case. Do not waste your time here. They are arrogant idiots who seem to sit around and gossip.

Elizabeth A. Martinez: Dr. Kriet is honest, has a great bedside manner, is kind (which helps when you’re at your most vulnerable!), and an artist. I was made fun of for years for my nose, and Dr. Kriet listened and gave me exactly what I wanted and needed, a nose that fit my face. After 34 years of wishing I had a different nose, having adults make rude comments about it, he just finally helped me feel like me, but better. Dr. Kriet did such an amazing job that my own family members noticed something different about me, but couldn’t put their finger on what was exactly different…yes, he’s that good. 4 years later I’m still receiving compliments about “how my skin looks, etc” and it’s nothing to do with my skin…it’s the nose that he shaped for me to fit my face. I cannot recommend him enough and I would do it all over again, in spite of the cost, without question. Dr. Kriet is an artist!

TaReK: Had a Rhinoplasty surgery, the stitched on the tip of my nose didn’t heal well it developed a little bump, I told him that it’s bothering me, the doctor replied with “ how much is it bothering you? We can do another surgery for that.” Although I didn’t go to surgery for that reason, it was developed from the bad stitches he did. I felt like I’m a business transaction to him not a patient, he cared about the money more than anything else. I wouldn’t recommend him for anyone!

Molls 1: Dr Kriet and Dr Krane as well as their team and office personnel are top notch. They reconstructed my nose after skin cancer and it turned out amazing! Equally important to me was the calm, kind and extremely encouraging way they interacted with me. I recommend them 100%?

T Wallis: Dr. Kriet has developed the perfect combination of science and artistry in his practice. I had a rhinoplasty revision 30 years after the first one left me with a curved deformity. I was looking for improvement but had little hope it would ever be completely straight again. I was overjoyed when I saw the results. Dr Kriet corrected my nose and for the first time in decades, it is straight and perfectly normal looking. I feel very lucky to have had him as my surgeon. Additionally, all the staff in his office are kind, professional and make visits a positive experience.

JK Steinlage: I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Kriet and his staff at KU Med West. After high school (many, many years ago!), I was in a bad car wreck. I had plastic surgery on my nose and lip in St. Joseph, MO shortly after the wreck. Years later, I had sinus surgery, then many years after that, while I was still having trouble breathing, I went to see another plastic surgeon in Topeka, KS, who said he can help with the breathing. I did get relief in breathing, BUT only for a... year or two. What I really ended up with was a crocked nose and a large bump on the right side of my nose. In the last few years, the nose seemed to become even more crooked (from the deviated septum).In March, I went to a new ENT doctor in Topeka who also does plastic surgery. I told him about my difficulty of breathing through my right side of the nose. He took CT scans of my head and said that all three procedures that were previously done on my nose (including the sinus surgery) where all done very poorly. He recommended sinus surgery again as my sinuses were extremely blocked, but he first wanted to consult with Dr. Kriet at KU Med. He felt that Dr. Kriet had the experience in dealing with the nose, and may want to address this himself right away. I trusted my ENT doctor and his recommendation, but with my past experience of bad doctors, I also read everything I could online about Dr. Kriet before my visit. Dr. Kriet reviewed my case, met with me, and in April, I had surgery. Needless to say, my nose was a very difficult case, but the outcome is amazing! I can breathe through my nose, which is huge, and I also sleep better than I ever have, the bump on my nose is hardly there, and my nose is straight! That has given me greater confidence in the way I look now.If you need/want to have reconstructive/plastic surgery and want it done correctly, Dr. Kriet is the doctor for you!

Shawn Snyder: 13 years ago I had a major infection in my sinuses that destroyed the cartilage in my nose and forced me to breathe from my mouth for 12 years. I was referred to Dr. Kriet by an ENT in Wichita, KS and went to him for a consultation. Dr. Kriet and his staff were very straightforward with me about the options for my nose, the procedure needed for each option and the effects of each option long term and short term. My family decided to have Dr. Kriet perform surgery and went in to do so in November of 2014. The surgery included removing cartilage from in between my ribs to rebuild my nasal septum. Dr. Kriet and his staff were wonderful before, during and after surgery even going so far as asking us to call him at home that first night if there were any problems. We have been through a years worth of follow-ups and him and his staff have continued to be awesome and very professional. I can finally breathe through my nose after 12 years and my nose has probably never looked better. I would and have recommended Dr. Kriet to my family and friends if they are ever in need of any reconstruction. Thank you Dr. Kriet for getting me breathing again.

KUFacialPlastics: I went to see Dr. Kriet for some breathing issues, and the visit was very informative. He gave me options to try before having any nasal surgery. Angel K: I had a major facial injury one year ago. The injured part of my face is distorted. I visited Dr. Kriet to see what else could be done. Dr. Kriet's answer was that nothing surgically could be done. When I asked again, he answered that it is not unusual for patients of my age to have a distortion in only one area of their face. (But if it is just aging, why doesn't the uninjured side of my face look similar?) Then I asked if nothing surgically can be done, what can be done that isn't surgical. This time there was no answer.I would not recommend visiting Dr. Kriet if you are over age 40, have had a facial injury, want drive to the west edge of this metro, and pay $235 unless you want to be told that the injured area of your face commonly looks this way just because of your age and NOTHING CAN BE DONE to make it look any better.For me, this doctor visit was EXTREMELY disturbing. I really hope this never happens to anyone else. At least doctor Kriet should add some basic psychological training to his surgical training so that no other patient will have thoughts of suicide added to their facial injury.
