Hotel Phillips Kansas City, Curio Collection by Hilton: what do users think?
Long Pham: Central to the Convention Center and Power&Light, and the KC Streetcar the location is very convenient to everything. The hotel is also next to the bus stop to the airport (229-KCI/Boardwalk) if you want an inexpensive, but slow way (fare-free for 2023) to reach the airport.Typical small rooms it seems for Curio properties, and office buildings reimagined as hotels. Room was clean, nice desk, big screen TV.Briefly visited the Diamond lounge. Had a few packaged snacks and drinks, did not take advantage.Did not test out the wifi since the area had good 5G coverage.
Andrew Kolman: Stayed here while seeing a show at the Midland so I didn't really get a chance to check out everything. I liked how they've kept the original look, even in the rooms. It felt fancy. Seemed quiet. Bed was comfy but room could have been a bit cleaner - that's my only complaint. That and they need a snack machine so there's something to eat at night, but maybe I just didn't find it.Rooms: Smaller but upscale feel to the rooms.Nearby activities: Very short walk to Midland Theater and other attractions.Noteworthy details: Parking is expensive but hotel doesn't set the garage prices. Just don't leave unless you need to because it's $20 every time you leave.
Charmell Hall: My room was small for 2 ppl, but extremely clean, great staff, great location- definitely upgrade to a larger suite if you aren’t traveling aloneRooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Jim Merz: Your going to spend a lot for a rundown Hotel. Had two rooms BOTH drains did not drain. The pictures are from the second room, not the first room. Front desk staff was horrible when checking in and out. When we checked out both front desk staff on their phones, never looked up. The first valet guy was awesome and the maintenance guy was nice and got us another room. The cost to what you get was to great… stay at another hotel many other options in the power and lights area.
Hakim Abdilahi: STAY AWAY!!!!!! BED BUGS & FILTHY HOTEL!!! 2star motel vibe- could never be 4star. The pictures are a complete trap to make you think this place is even close to decent. Trashy hotel, dirty rooms ( there was blood stain on the side of the bed), parking ramp nearby is tiny and unsafe. There is nothing good to say about this place.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More
Jeremy Chapman: We loved our stay at this historic hotel. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. The room was beautiful, though a little small. We got to stop by the Diamond Lounge for a snack and drinks, and had a nice breakfast in the restaurant the next morning. The location was in easy walking distance of the Kauffman Center, where we were in town to see a concert. Very happy with our stay here. We parked in the garage on the same block for $18 per day.
Jessica Montaño: This is a great hotel. The building is old, so some features show their age. However, rooms are updated and are beautiful.Cons: The walls have cracks and repaints. The elevator floors are kinda gross.Pros: antique features. Crown molding. Letter delivery down the elevator shaft to the lobby. Just an antique atmosphere. The shower in our room flooded the floor because the curtain doesn’t reach all the way down and water sprayed out. The shower faucet was disgustingly covered with water scum/mildew. Sink faucet and handles were loose. There’s a giant mirror across the toilet (weird lol)Every employee we interacted with was amazing.Valet service is $34/day.We booked a 1 king room and got a 2 queen. Kinda annoying but we didn’t feel like addressing it at midnight. So unsure of their resolution. Our door didn’t read our cards in the first room, and they immediately fixed the issue and didn’t make us change rooms.Rooms start on the 5th floor - goes up to 20 floors. Elevators are very small.Nearby activities: Great choices or the tram takes you to good choicesWalkability: Close to a few things downtown. Market close by, tram stop right there, Live! Is down the street and so is union station.
hopperado: Central location downtown. Miserable service levels: no one at the reception upon arrival, now Wi-Fi signal (USA, 21st century!), strange bargaining for later checkout by a bored receptionist playing with his phone.Impressive interior design, foyer in particular.Good breakfast service, yet dishes only a la carte, no coffee distributors.Noteworthy details: No Wi-Fi.
Kathryn Gifford: This hotel is beautiful! Our room was clean and had a great view of the city. We were in walking distance of multiple areas to visit. We’ll be back next time we visit KC!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Great value …More
Samantha Wilson: Gorgeous hotel with great service! Everyone was very hospitable. My only complaint is that we couldn’t find anywhere in the hotel or within walking distance to buy water/other nonalcoholic drinks or snacks. Our room style also didn’t have a fridge (not sure if any of them do) so we couldn’t save leftovers from the restaurants we went to. Vending machines or a little shop would be a nice addition!
Francis Wong: I truly loved it during my stay. Location was perfect and my room (the hotel) was super clean. It was easy to walk around the area. I could catch the city train to get around when it was close enough. otherwise, I just got in to a ride to head out further. I highly recommend this hotel.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury …More
J Baker: Nice atmosphere in the speakeasy. I got the impression they they didn't really want to make any special drinks that were not on their pre-made list.
VISION FOWARD MEDIA LLC.: Beautiful hotel within downtown KC! great for business meetings , R and R , and engagement photos!
Tina Robbins: Enjoyed our stay here—really neat old building that still retains its charm even with modern updates. Our room was clean, nicely and simply decorated. The room was quiet, the bed comfortable and the bathroom fairly spacious for its size. the staff was super friendly and helpful. Added bonus is being so close to the streetcar and other attractions. Definitely would stay here again.
Debra Hall-Koftinow: Fabulous service and accomadations.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Jordan Hayden: Classic hotel reminded me of a 1920’s Style architecture.

Shere-Ling Kraus-Yao: From time to time I need to stop at this place to finish my paper or reading, or etc, before my next stop as I had eaten at the bar downstairs the restaurant and bar even though I don’t stay here, The hotel attendees always were welcoming me the same!!!Nearby activities: There are many activities throughout the year including holidays at the Plaza and near by! Sherri Berger: Omg...love, love this hotel. It's a beautiful boutique hotel. Everyone working there was so nice, friendly, and helpful. They bent over backwards to make my stay a good one...and I got upgraded to a large, beautiful suite which added to the incredibleness of my trip.Rooms: Exquisite decor...very peaceful and elegant. Beautiful art, all the conveniences, lots of USB outlets, Kurig coffee machine with really good coffee pods, TV with Netflix and Amazon prime, love the deep tub, bathroom has a beautiful marble floor, plush towels, great pillows and bedding. Can't wait to return.
A Godley: The Raphael Hotel was just lovely! Such character and ambiance, beautiful! Our room was excellent! Clean and nicely decorated! We had a great view of The Plaza too! Everyone was friendly and helpful. We loved that Chaz is both their restaurant and bar with live music! How enjoyable! Loved that we could walk to and from the plaza area. Lots of shopping and fun things to do. We had a lovely stay!
Debbie Simpson: The accouting department is lacking. I always have to request an itemized receipt more than 2 times. As of today I've emailed 3 times for 3 different dated receipts for my manager. sitll nothing. Now I am going to contact the General Mgr.Noteworthy details: Need to train accounting to get the job done
Tiffany Pollard: This was my first stay at The Raphael Hotel, Autograph Collection. I stayed in a 1 king suite for 2 nights (Sunday - Tuesday) for a work event.ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: I arrived at 1:30p; check-in took a couple minutes max. Very efficient!ROOM: Prior to arrival, I contacted the hotel to request a quiet room away from elevators. I was assigned room #909.• Amenities: Hair dryer, Keurig, luggage racks, mini fridge (keeps drinks very cold!), robe, safe; no microwave• Bath: The only real issue with my stay - loved the deep tub & excellent pressure, but the water bounced between scalding hot & freezing cold. It happened both mornings & one evening, so it wasn't a fluke. In fact, I couldn't even stand under the shower head the second day.• Bed: Bed was decently comfortable, but the sheets were rough/scratchy. I'm glad I brought my own soft pillow.• Cleanliness: Very clean! Housecleaning tidied up my room before 1p the next day.• Decor: Standard• Heating/cooling: Comfortable temp, quiet unit• Sound: Very quiet• TV: Smart television. Clear reception w/ decent selection of channels.• View: 49th & Wornall (back of the hotel)• WiFi: Strong, worked well in room & conference areaCUSTOMER SERVICE: Excellent all-around, including the bellhop, front desk, valet, even the chat feature. In addition, the hotel graciously honored late check-out, which worked out perfectly for my work event.LOCATION/PARKING:• Location: Within walking distance of many restaurants & shopping• Parking: Included in our meeting rateWould I recommend/stay again? Yes, absolutely!

Hotel Indigo Kansas City Downtown, an IHG Hotel: what do users think?
Julie Sleister: Great place. Stayed there a few times. Comfy beds, clean, and great staff. Water pressure isn't great. The only thing I would warn about is that you best be OK hearing whatever is going on in your bathroom when someone else is in there.Back again. Quiet bathroom this time. Hotel Indigo has become our "go to" when heading downtown.
Fallon Brooks: Hotel Indigo’s lobby is beautiful. The parking garage next door was super affordable with an $18/day max and very convenient to the hotel. The elevators are fast and we never had to wait for one. Our room and bathroom were nicely decorated and clean. The value for the price is fantastic!Walkability: This hotel was super close to everything we wanted to be near. We didn’t take the car out the garage the entire weekend.

Kyle Quandt: Very unique and nice place to stay. The rooms are decorated well, the staff was friendly and provided great service. Noise level was low and the restaurant downstairs, while not free, was amazing. Would recommend for anyone staying in downtown!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Quiet, Great value …More
Tara Johnson RN: Hosted my daughters bridal shower here and yhe staff was AWESOME! THANK YOU Lauren, Angela and Adam.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5 …More
M Linzie: We don’t typically stay in IHG hotels but we decided to try this one out. The hotel itself is in a good location in Downtown Kansas City and the walkability to the various restaurants and activities was a plus. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The smell and quality of the bath products offered was nice. The on-site restaurant was good as we had breakfast there. The front desk staff at check in and during the stay was great, however, the same can’t be said about the front desk staff at check out - which sort of put a damper on our overall stay (never saw the same staff twice).
Eric Hackler: Loved it, great rooms and service. Good location.Rooms: Nice, clean and spaciousNearby activities: You can walk to about whatever you want to do or seeSafety: Yeah they have security guards and security drive thrus. But it's not bad use common sense. But if you observe you can learn which dumpster to dive and come out aheadWalkability: It is very walkable just a few blocks from plFood & drinks: Good food on hand
Garrett Geringer: Good location and great rooms for the price. Valet parking is your best option for parking and that runs only $28.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Kim Sharitz: Nearby activities: Pretty close walk to T-Mobile Center which is where we were going.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 3/5Hotel highlights Luxury, Quiet …More
The RC: Wouldn't let us even come in and look around to consider staying there. Stopped at the door and turned us away because we weren't already guests. Unreasonably rude - clearly not interested in hospitality. Would NOT stay here or recommend.Service: 1/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Dilshod: The showers with half a glass door was a bit strange. But, overall a good stay.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Aviane W: I'm a fan of IHG Hotels. Location was great however, someone texts me about my arrival she even texts to follow up. I advised I wanted housekeeping daily. And a quiet room. I did get the quiet room but on the first night no housekeeping after I called and advised I was out my room. As I arrived the next day after a long day-my room keys didn't work. I called for valet when I came down he didn't even get the call. Overall, I think I was just hoping for everything to run smooth. Things happen but service was just very relaxed for me. Great location though. Nice people
Kiri Zeuto (Mawri): This place is amazing! It's very pretty. Clean, well-managed. They allowed me and family to bring our dog too, which was quite surprising. A little gripe being so near to Main and Truman, resulting in some dense traffic, but otherwise, this is great! I definitely would like to stay here again.Food & drinks: Integrated restaurant. Best if you get the vouchers with the stay though. Out of pocket for them can hurt.
Kirstjen Lorenz: The staff at this hotel is very friendly and helpful. I stayed in room 506, and it was huge with a very comfortable bed, a nice size bathroom with a walk-in shower and a good size desk and a very nice chaise. The location is very good. 1-2 blocks from the Power & Light District and the free street car that will take you to the WW1 Museum and Union Station.
Isabel Reutzel: Great stay with beautiful rooms and lovely staff. During our stay wifi was down in the whole area which would be our only negative but out of the hotels hands. The staff was helpful in every way possible even though their system was down too making their jobs harder. Walking distance to anything you could want! Parking can be a little expensive in garages but lots of free street parking certain hours. Attached to a restaurant/bar which is also of convenience. Overall loved our stay and would go back! ( there’s 2 hotel indigos in KC near each other and the other is a little sketchy and not close to much so be sure to double check was told it was a common mistake as we went to the wrong one first)
Miss Wilk: I stay here regularly as I drove from the west coast to the east coast often. My favorite thing about this location is how nice the front desk is when I bring my cat in it’s little backpack. They consistently upgrade me and provide top notch service and amenities. I know I write a lot of reviews for Hotel Indigo locations, but it’s because I don’t want to stay anywhere else. I will go out of my way if necessary to ensure I’m close to this hotel brand. Why pay 10x the price somewhere else for lesser service?

Alex Speyrer: Only passed through and stayed 1 night but definitely would not want to stay long. Very outdated and room was not very clean. The whole place had a funky smell as soon as you walk in. Jamie McNabb: Typically not where we stay, extended stays are typically not the safest, cleanest and exposed to many and things not comfortable with. This one is different!! Lilly, Bri, Mrs. Pam, and the rest of staff/housekeeping are awesomeness. It's like a family homey vibe. If the riff raff does come around/or doing stuff they shouldn't, the staff handles it immediately, they constantly make rounds and spend time getting to know their guest. KCPD, and Platte county makes rounds consistently. You feel safe, and trust your vehicle to be safe...Rooms: Not outdated, just a lil country. Nice size, with recliner, office/chairs, full kitchen, and bathroom, also features alot of closet space.Nearby activities: downtown KC, hiking, and alot of historic greatness to explore, Def kids friendly, and 420 friendlySafety: Def feel safe, between the staff, residents, and police presence you are safe, and it's in the country safe! If you have any issues the staff address immediately!Walkability: 2 gas stations, the rest is a short rideFood & drinks: Coffee 24/7Noteworthy details: Gym, laundry, and everything you need for cooking.

Brian Gardner: Well, the beds are nice! However, doors NEED attention. They SLAM shut. They can be heard day, AND NIGHT.It seems there are MANY "extended" stay guests, as they could be heard, and seen, just HANGIN' OUT in the hallway & lobby area.Laundry area is GREAT! Several machines available. I would stay again. Just NOT on bottom floor.

Morgan Scryer: It was dingy, dark, out of date. The guys who can in right before us smelled strongly of weed. The pillows were plastic. Sleeping on an air mattress was more comfortable than these beds. It was farther away from the airport, without a shuttle service. Breakfast was oatmeal, granola bars, and pre packaged muffins.

James Parker: Room was nasty hair and trash like the room was half cleaned. Not a good place to stay. Has mold on floor and cabinetsRooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More
Sue Wiley: The rooms look nothing like the picture. More like a hospital room.Only one side of the bed had a side table & lamp. No chairs if you want to sit & eat or work on your computer. The first room we were given smelled horrible but the stuff was nice and got us a new one. The breakfast was a granola bar or prepackaged muffin. The only thing to drink was coffee. The bathroom toilet flushed on top but to get to it you had to squeeze your hand between the counter top & toilet (1"space). The closest closes via a shower curtain. You get what you pay for, maybe less.

Taryn Burchett: The person working at night on Sunday going into Monday of Memorial Day weekend was the absolutely worst and atrocious person I ever experienced. I have never felt so condescended and disrespected. I was able to book online and he was inconvenienced and disgusted with me because it was after audit. I drove 30 miles from another town that my hotel I reserved didn’t work out in. I am appalled by the “customer service”. They refused to give me their name and I only wanted to to refer to whom told me to call management in the morning and try to get my money back bc it wasn’t his problem it let me book online. He made it clear he did his audit and at 2 am I was out of luck. I booked check in for Sunday into Monday and if he couldn’t help he sure as heck made sure it wasn’t his problem.
courtney oppermann: The staff was very friendly and helpful. That is the only positive about it. The hallways smelled like cigarette smoke covered in heavy Air freshners and there was so much dirt and debris on the floors. The rooms were dated, which would've been fine but my room was also not clean. I slept one night there and woke up with a rash or bites on my legs so I checked out. My biggest complaint is that when I came back to my room to get my things, the security lock was open, keeping my door open to anyone who wanted to come in. No one was around so I have no idea how long my things were just completely unsecured. The staff was very friendly but I will Never step foot in this facility again.
Whitney Deliz: Nice stay with very friendly and helpful staff. Elevator was broken and no breakfast is my only complaint.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More
John Reznicek: Horrible room, had a funky smell that wouldn't go away, even with the windows open and deodorizer the front desk gave me. Had a few roaches around, some dead some alive. The floor in the kitchen area was dirty, looked like it hadn't even been clean. I took the wet towel from the leaking shower and wipes that floor down just so I could walk without sticking to it. The shower leaked so the carpet in the bedroom was soaking wet, but had to wear flip flops cuz the carpet was sticky. Absolutely disgusted with the hotel. We have stayed there in race weekend for 5 years and has gone down hill the last couple years. Still waiting for a credit back to my card for a $58 overcharge, we'll see if that happens. Save the hassel and stay somewhere elseUpdate:5/12/23I did receive the credit for the overcharge on the room.Thank you

Crazy Trucker101: Management is rude and inconsiderate refuse to give the proper accommodations pay for one room get another paid for the most expensive room but got downsized but not refunded will lie about how you left the room will put you on the DNR for complaining about your room and trying to get reservations fixed do not check on guests other than that are very kind housekeepers but they will make excuses on why they are forcing somebody to leave just because they complain about not getting to right room that you actually paid for and yes thay accept pets but are extremely strict oh them excluding service pets
Angela Rickman: Kansas City Tiffany Springs location: THE ABSOLUTELY WORST STAFF EVER!!!! The physical property definitely needs some attention but that I could deal with. The day staff was absolutely disrespectful and insulting to guests. The Manager Brenda was never available, had to beg to see her. The day "employee" NANCY was beyond insulting and condescending. She said things like "you realize you're not at a 5 star place", "what do you want ", she literally ask me "why do you need a printed receipt ". The amount being charged changed weekly when I was told it would be the same. I was told NO DOGS! There were a minimum of 8 dogs staying at the property. The lies were endless! I ended up leaving because I wasn't going to pay more that week then what 3 employees told me my rent would be on 4 different occasions. SAFE YOURSELF AND YOUR EMPLOYEES THE HEADACHE AND STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!
James “Mob family member” Smith: Great place to stay and very clean and safe and very nice staff.😀Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
Alec Britton: Will absolutely never stay here again. Between staff being extremely unfriendly, to the rooms being filthy. Plus, we had extra charges added to our stay, accounting to paying for 3 nights in a 2 night booking. To top it off, we were called "liars" because of how big our dogs were. They never asked how big our dogs were, they stopped us while we were trying to leave, and told us we tried sneaking our dogs in the back door.If you are comfortable paying an extra 33% in charges, staying in a gross, darkly lit, bad smelling room, and having your character questioned, it's the perfect stay.If you are looking for comfort, friendly staff, and a fair price, avoid this place like the flu. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Off Topic Sports Segment: This is by far the worst experience I've ever had in dealing with hotels...and I deal with them on a regular basis. We moved some residents into an extended stay as we just bought a property and are having to do some major work in there. The residents got there to the hotel and the hotel manager there kicked them out after one night. We never received a call or anything remotely regarding why these residents were removed...even though they claimed they called (I can assure you they did not). We decided to call them since we had no idea why the residents were removed after one night and they told us it was a credit card issue. I told them this was not possible as my credit limit is much higher than the stay cost would have been for a week for each resident. They continued to tell us that the card didn't go through so therefore they could not stay. Upon looking at the forms for the credit card authorization, we realized that the card they ran does not match the card we gave (we have the forms and emails to prove this). I attempted to call to figure out why they never charged my card and to explain to them that this is the reason why the card didn't go through because they didn't type the card correctly, but they would not listen and said that my residents nor we are welcomed there anymore...we are completely confused as to why this happened or why they won't assist us in getting this corrected. We had planned to have at least 30 residents staying in your hotel over the next 30-60 days while these renovations were completed and now we will be going to someone else. I would strongly advise you to speak to that hotel manager over there as they cost you several thousand dollars in business all for a simple mistake of them not typing in the right credit card number. All they had to do is put the right card number in and at least be respectful to myself and colleagues and this could have all gotten figured out. I NEVER post reviews, but this one I felt was needed due to one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever dealt with.
