And no "gymtimidation."During COVID times, the leading trainer/owner limits class sizes to 8 people through the sign up app and only one person per station instead of two, allowing for social distancing. Masks required, of course. The trainer takes our temperature with touchless thermometer, hand/shoe sanitizing options are available upon entrance, and sanitizing solution and cloths are available at each workout station.I've really enjoyed my time at Synergy Fitness.

We all get temperature checks as we enter the facility, we wear masks, properly distance from each other while working out, access to cleaning alcohol to clean the equipment after each circuit and have access to hand sanitizer as we walk out the door.I would recommend Synergy Fitness to anyone.

Jennifer Friend-Huizer: I moved to KC in September of 2017 and first thing on my list was to join a gym. I joined a gym day two, but was not happy so continued to look for a new gym. I got an Instagram pop-up for Synergy and immediately reached out for a trial session. By session two, I knew this was the place for me. Chris and Michael are great guys to start, and the program makes a 45 minute workout seem like nothing. I like the small group atmosphere and the fact that I did not know anyone in KC, I quickly made some friends here, who I call my KC family. The workouts are well thought out and there is great instruction if you get stuck either via video or by Chris or Michael showing you how to do the movements. In 2018, a new transformation challenge was started and I loved going in each day to see what new challenge awaited and could I do it, or even crush it. Love the workouts, staff and close to my house location. If you are looking for a small personal training type of gym, this is the place to go.

I attend the library classes, the online streaming classes, AND the affordable Friday night classes at Operation Breakthrough because Nicki and her team provide such a well-rounded mix of fitness, with weights, strength, dance, kickboxing and more, so I feel like I have options for working all parts of my body! Additionally, Nicki and her other instructors give personal attention, even in the free library classes, so it feels like not just a fitness class, but a community outreach. And the Friday and Saturday classes have a live DJ! The music is awesome! This is so much better than going to a gym: it works my body, mind, AND my soul!

KK: It IS possible for "bootcamp" to be fun! I've been attending classes and personal training with Ray O'Kelly for three months and I love it. Whether in class or one-on-one training, Ray is always monitoring people, encourages proper form over showmanship, and offers effective modifications if an exercise is too advanced or difficult due to injury. No two classes have been remotely similar as Ray also listens to suggestions for muscle groups and class format and changes it up. The atmosphere is fun, led by Ray but also by the regular crowd. It's inviting, not intimidating like many big gyms. If you're reading this deciding whether it's the gym for you, I highly encourage you give it a shot.

Elaine Lopez: I'm 62 years young and have suffered with severe knee pain and osteoarthritis for more than 20 years, so knee replacement surgeries were on my calendar this year. I went to Ray about eight months prior with the goal of getting fit and strong to better withstand the surgeries. Frankly, I wasn't sure Ray would even take me on as a client, because of my special needs. But Ray was undeterred and he came up with a plan geared specifically to me. In another review I read how he adapted and adjusted exercises to individual needs, and this is so true. He'd reiterate all the time small adjustments still lead to great and positive results. More important, he always remained positive and coached me on to try things I didn't think I could do, but respected the times I said I couldn't. Ray truly cares about his people. So, eight months in, my goals were not only met, but well exceeded. Three weeks ago I underwent my first surgery feeling extremely strong and confident. My surgeon was very so pleased with my rapid post-op progress, which I directly attribute to my fitness level. In three weeks, I go for surgery #2, but in the meanwhile, I've returned to Ray's gym to keep up with my training. Ray is not only a superior personal trainer, he is a superior motivator, and quite simply, a superior guy! I definitely recommend giving Ray O'Kelly and Superior Fit Body a try!

H L: Transformative would be the word I chose to describe my experience. I have tried diets, fasting, books, and various workout routines (over a decade of these attempts). They did not work well, and I was left frustrated. At that moment, I realized losing weight was slipping beyond my reach, which led me to AYC Fitness. The prices were reasonable, and I appreciated having one-on-one time with a professional who tailored the routines to my needs as we are all different. I appreciate how Glen cares and encourages you to reach your desired outcomes. Working out twice a week for a year with no dieting has yielded a loss of over 35 pounds. My body has become sculpted in ways I never thought possible. The experience has helped me not only physically but also mentally as well. I have always been active and enjoyed distance running, but realized a little over 4 years ago that I was getting injured more frequently. At the advice of a friend, I sought out David Justice at AYC, who has worked miracles on my well-being and conditioning. I started with a commitment to try AYC for 3 months but soon learned that seeing David on a regular basis - mixing in my own workouts - could improve my overall health to a point where its the best it has been in over 20 years. I'm not looking to become a Navy Seal anytime soon, but David has inspired me to go beyond and stay strong both physically and mentally. David and AYC are the best!!
