Bobbi Sehorn: Kansas City Hardscapes is literally the most professional operation I have ever worked with. I have had super professional contractors before, but these guys are awesome.Now my job was not without hiccups and at some point we will be hiring them for a new paver drive. Especially since the dumpster they used for demo and clean put a hole in my drive. But admittedly the drive is old and does need replacing, so we weren't upset about that.The guys showed up on time, completed on time and costs are all upfront. You pay in 3rds. 1/3 on day one, 1/3 halfway, and the total at the end. There will be changes. Because design can change as the project evolves. We had several changes. The last one we passed on as it was for edging, we are not sure we need.Sanding and sealing comes later, as they need warm temps for that consistently. So we have not had that done yet. However, we are not worried, we know it will get done.Expect construction, major construction. This is not for people who are worried about every blade of grass. But the end result is absolutely AMAZING!If you need a backyard that is like ones you see on HGTV, call these guys. Jody Jones: To quote the owner himself, " I wish I didn't have to write this, but I guess I do. It's how we communicate in 2017...through reviews..."It's 2021 and we still have to communicate this way because the owner refuses to answer or return phone calls and text messages.This project was secured over a year ago. They did not begin the work on our patio until January. Within a month, the sand/grout was coming out of the joints. After I had been promised this would not occur. It took until the week before Memorial Day for them to return and fix the issue. Upon cleaning up their mess that weekend, I noticed the sand/grout was coming out of the joints for a second time. @KitLewis is by far the worst small business owner in the city. After repeatedly asking him to just communicate with me for the fix, he ghosted every attempt I made at contacting him. I get it, we were a small job compared to the millions of dollars they make on larger projects. I had paid my invoice in full and therefore they could not be bothered to complete this job properly. At this time, they had to come out last week to re-level the pavers in half the patio. Leaving another round of dust and debris for us to clean up. Never mind the exterior paint on my house having to be re-done from the cement they threw all over the place and on my windows. The saving grace has been the manufacturing rep that has stepped in to complete the job. Likewise, I will give a shout out to the project manager. He has been the only one to communicate back with me when notified. While they may do "great" work for others, my recommendation is beware....if they don't complete the job properly and you've paid your invoice, good luck ever hearing back from them. I have waited to post this for fear that they just wouldn't ever show back up. I'm sure (as with other poor reviews) the owner will come on here and blame me for the disaster that has taken place. Jeff Kendall: KC Hardscapes was 1 of 3 who quoted us on an outdoor project that involved an outdoor kitchen/bar area by our pool. They were very reliable, had GREAT follow-up and transparency in the original job (to include large bar area with under lights, open shelving on the back side, and most importantly a built in smoker and grill on the book ends), and were very flexible with some slight tweaks during the process. They did such an awesome job we had them come back and knock out an old "retaining wall" to add a complimentary 16 foot seating wall with lights at the opposite end of our pool. Kati Toivanen: Zach and crew did an excellent job for me. I had an old, three-story deck that needed to be removed and a new design put in place. The project was pretty substantial (and a bit intimidating) and I wanted the results to be maintenance-free. I am also particular about the esthetics, yet had a budget. First, Zach helped me design the project within my budget and Ashley came up with a great staircase solution as well. I wanted custom metal screens incorporated into the deck and fence. Zack designed an elegant and clean support structure for them. The entire design is now super-solid, yet elegant. We encountered a few unexpected hurdles along the way that were beyond our control and Zack was very solution-oriented and found effective ways to solve them. The crew was friendly and professional. I can see that The Decksperts take pride in their work and they should. The results are structurally strong and beautiful. Thank you for a great service. I highly recommend. I will post pictures after I get the house painted and the flagstone patio installed.
Michelle Funk: We had Decksperts remove our existing 21-year-old deck and install a new composite deck with steel railing. The entire experience with Zach, Silver, and crew could not have been better. From the very beginning to the end of the project, they were very professional, friendly, courteous, and honest. The project began on time and ended ahead of schedule! Their attention to detail and overall quality of the work was outstanding. They kept the job site clean and organized and knew what they were doing each day. They even designed and installed a phenomenal dog ramp for our little Westie that doesn’t like to do stairs! Weylin watson: Expensive but lots of experience and professional. Excellent structural/roofing crews. Some issues overall with electrical subcontractor communication/work, but issues fixed reasonably to the extent able with minor aesthetic disruption. Had a minor non-electrical issue later for which Archadeck said they would send someone out. Didn't see them, but we were able to figure out a workaround. The designer was happy to make changes to their original design to accommodate our elderly limited mobility family members. The construction team was great and left the site clean every day. J.C. Ganote: We recently had a large scale backyard project completed by Hinkle Hardscapes. From the initial design and several updates to the drawings for the project Hinkle's team was excellent to work with each step of the way. Our project included a large concrete pour to accommodate a hottub on one level and on another level a large concrete patio with a oversized fire pit. Along side of the patio area was a large deck that steps down to the concrete patio. Based on the backyard slopping I had to deal with, the design Hinkle came up with was about the only way I could best utilize my space. During the construction phase of the project, the workers were very focused on the work. All my questions and concerns were quickly responded to and dealt with on a professional level. The quality of the work was very superior and the several months we had to wait to get our project started was very much worth the wait. I highly recommend Hinkle Hardscapes for anyone else's project, they don't cut corners like some contractors do, and it's true, you do get what you pay for. Hinkle Hardscapes is not the cheapest company out there and I don't think that's what they want to be, but if you want the best and are willing to pay more to get your project done, you can't go wrong with Hinkle Hardscapes.Service:Spa hot tub installation

Jody Gosch: I am shocked to see so many positive reviews on Hinkle, I have had two experiences with them and both have been really bad. We had a swimming pool under contract with an expected installation date of April 2021 with the potential (per Hinkle) of starting in January 2021. In January, they told us it would be April, in April they said June, prior to June they said their pool crew quit so maybe August and at that point we cancelled our contract. In August our circumstances changed and we re-engaged with them to give them another chance. They said they had a pool available (different from the one we had originally chosen) and could install it in mid-October. Their estimator (the one we had worked with throughout the entire process) provided us a detailed price quote that was significantly more expensive than our previous quote but they said the pool was more expensive so we moved forward with detailed planning despite the price increase. I then received a different quote after the owner (Zach) got involved and it was 20K higher than what I was quoted just a week and a half earlier by the estimator. They provided no explanation other than to say they have no idea how their estimator came up with his numbers, they have moved him into a different role and they are unable to honor the price that he quoted. I understand people make mistakes but a business blatantly and repeatedly being unable to deliver on their commitments is one that I will avoid in the future. We will be looking elsewhere for swimming pool installation!Service:Design
Casey Redding: Looks beautiful, but poor quality.We hired Hinkle to pour a big round patio with a seating area and a grill station. We went ahead and went with the most expensive bid (Hinkle Hardscapes—just shy of $12,000). Problems from the very beginning…First, poured the patio 4 inches taller than the rest of the patio….lol (they fixed the mistake)Second, crew backed into our mailbox and just left it. Thank god we had a nest camera (they fixed after I showed them the footage)Third, crew left a huge HUGE hole in the concrete (hidden under the egress ledge so hard to see). Hole collects water and is now leaking into our finished basement. …now, of course, causing mold issues. Ken, the owner, said they’d come out and fix the hole…. That was 2 months ago.Again, nice people…. The end product LOOKS beautiful. But for 12k I never thought I’d end up with this many problems + water into the foundation.Service:Design
Andrea: We used Hinkle Hardscapes for a complete patio overhaul (with firepit and seat wall) and we could not be happier. We used them in conjunction with a local deck company and both worked together really well. The design team at Hinkle helped illustrate our vision before they got to work and helped us develop the best setup for our deck and patio needs. The crew itself was excellent. They arrived on time and ready to work each day (even as temperatures dropped in December), and cleaned up each night. The communication with the foreman throughout the project was top notch -- he answered any and all questions we had and provided good insight on certain issues we hadn't thought about. Cindy Slagenweit: Edited: After just 3 months we started noticing cracks in the patio and after 6 months we had 5 or more cracks that were all 3 feet long or longer. Hinkle agreed to "fill" them, but we could not get anyone other than the foreman to come out and talk with us and see what the problem was. Just kept being told cracks will happen but that is why we replaced the concrete slab we had and salesman lead us to believe that cracks would not happen with their process. From our research, we don't believe the concrete cured properly in the winter temps and that's what's causing the issue. Also the "stamp" left rough edges and divots which they said was "normal" and we were told they wouldn't chip....they have! For the money we paid we expected better! (Project started timely and was completed quickly. Crew even went out of their way to make temporary access for our two "senior" pups. New stamped patio looks great and can't wait until the weather warms up to use it. From sales to the crew, everyone was friendly and easy to work with.)

Jill Owens: I had a stamped concrete porch installed summer of 2020. Company was reliable and stayed true to the budget. When I had questions along the way they were answered in a timely manner. I was able to watch the process and did not see any signs of “cutting corners”. The quality is substantial and will last through all of our family porch memories - past, present, and future.
Kyle Bodenstab: Absolutely love our new patio. Had a great experience with Hinkle. Well worth the wait. The jobsite was clean and clear every evening and they took great care to limit any damage that might be caused by their heavier equipment.
