I mentioned I wanted to paint to preserve the house's exterior, and they were quick to advise me that the exterior does not need painting to preserve it, and is likely fine as is. Tony Sanders: Made appointment for plaster repair with what sounded like a 10 year old kid, almost a week in advance- no problem with that-I get it, but I had to keep repeating myself and what I needed repaired.On day of appointment (1 hour before his scheduled arrival) Mike Kelly called and told me they were only doing outside work and he would not be coming he apologized, which didn’t help me recover my near week of waiting for him.My recommendation is to use a larger company or watch a YouTube video to repair a plaster crack and save your self the trouble of wasted time and frustration.He’s probably a nice guy but left me a bad impression for his business.

Throughout the process, it was clear they were focused on delivering a quality product and kept a close eye on weather conditions. They failed to paint near a door threshold that was under their masking tape. Overall they cost more but just do an average job. They did what they said they were going to do all while keeping us in the loop and updating us., 3. The work is beautiful. The crew's foreman had pride in his work and worked diligently to keep his crew working steadily and wonderfully. The paint job was done beautifully! 4. After complete we were invited to meet with the project manager to go over every inch of the work. He was more diligent in seeing tiny spots than we were! barbara carlson: Doug Bates Painting was referred to me by a good friend. I was ready to paint my cherry kitchen, laundry and bathroom cabinets. I contacted Doug in the fall, and told him we would be gone from mid January until April 1st. We tentatively scheduled the work to commence in mid January. I wanted to match the trim to the new cabinet paint however, when Doug brought a wood sample we did not feel the color was right. Doug took about 2 mins. to find the correct color in the paint deck and assured me the color would look great. After being gone for 2 months I walked in and was so pleased with my cabinets and the quality of workmanship and how crisp and clean everything looked. I was sent pictures of the progress and just could not wait to see it in person. They covered my floors and furniture, I never saw a drop of paint. The work was done in a timely manner and if I had a question or called to check on things he or his associates were kind and answered any questions. They repaired wood rot and stucco damage, took great care to prepare the area when scraping off lead-based paint, and were all lovely people to boot!Doug worked with me to select test colors, then gave his expert opinion on which of the three would be best. He even gently guided me away from what, in hindsight, would have been an absolutely hideous door color.John was the point person on my job. He went above and beyond, and was a pleasure to have around. The whole job took about three weeks, so this turned out to be more important than I ever realized. He's a great communicator and kept me in the loop on the process, who was going to be over which day (the house had some severe deferred maintenance issues, so there were multiple carpenters involved), and when they would arrive. There were no surprises. While we waited for the confirmation on our start date, we noticed an area in our basement had a water stain. I reached out to Ryan in case he could help with the issue and he recommended a plumber that put us on their schedule that week to take a look. DMC Plumbing came out and was able to repair a cracked pipe just in the nick of time! Now, we needed to repair the drywall and paint an area that wasn't included in our quote and Ryan added this for us and updated our project.Once the project was scheduled Marcos and his team arrived and started taping, draping, and wrapping. Kyle Rohde: We had significant rot issues on our 30 year old house with engineered wood siding. With the labor crunch all over, it was difficult to find anybody to do repair work beyond just general contractor/handyman types, but then I contacted Neighborhood Painting & Restoration. The team came out to assess the issues, recommend solutions and provide a detailed, easy-to-understand bid.There was enough damage that I asked Neighborhood about doing a complete reside project rather than just repairing and they encouraged me not to do that and gave good explanations why. Considering that project would have been 3x as much money for them, the fact that they gave a recommendation wasn't just the most profitable for them was much appreciated and increased my trust in them.When it comes to the actual work, I loved seeing separate prep and paint crews; that made it clear they had people that really know their specific role well. They identified more issues (as I knew they would) as they got into the prep work and that was all handled appropriately and professionally. The finished product looks great and I am looking forward to not worrying about our siding for a while now.The only thing I can't really speak to is their costs vs. any other companies. Because of how hard it was to find a company even willing to bid on the work, Neighborhood was the only bid we received. My guess is they are not the cheapest option but that's not what I would want anyway. Mattie Ransom: As a former painter I was impressed with the skill, knowledge, work ethic and speed in which the Certa Pro crew worked. As you may know the paint quality is critical to a lasting paint job. However, it is not as important as the preparation prior to paint. My home required a good bit of wood rot repair as well as some water damage repairs. The CertaPro team excelled at this part of the job. The carpenter on crew was awesome. Fast, accurate and job well done. The next step of preparation especially for raw wood was to prime the raw wood. I was not on site all the time but did not see this step completed. It may have been done when I was not there. Finally, once the paint spraying began the contract mentioned spray and back roll. This step ensures the paint get the best chance to bond with your house surface. I did not see a paint roller anywhere on the job site.I got several bids for this job and Certa Pro was very competitive while using the best paint of any other bid. Ultimately, getting the best possible paint for the same price as other bids got Certa Pro the job. The crew that did the painting were very professional and polite. They covered everything that wasn't being painted so no overspray. They worked long hours and did a wonderful job on clean-up. Bryan Horst: When we decided to paint the interior of our facility, I took point. The project had to happen during a small window of time. Our CMU block walls were cracked in places and overdue to be painted. The ceilings were a special challenge to paint because of the amount of dust that had accumulated over decades in our manufacturing environment. When you consider all of the people, equipment and product required to run a production line underneath of that ceiling, it was a great challenge.Of the many companies that come to bid, I decided that Luke Kush’s Painting was clearly the best option. During our walkthrough, is was apparent that Luke knew how to get the job done and how to do it well. It was a reassuring that he had experience with this type of project and an understanding of what it would take. The task immediately seemed more manageable. Luke pointed out some less obvious things that I had not considered. These details weren’t addressed in any way by the competition. In my experience, that means they would not be taken care of. Luke’s proposal came quickly and it was considerably more detailed than the others. Even though the job was only to paint and make minor repairs, Luke had a deep interest to understand what we do, who we are and how to make the facility to work better for us.Once we decided to hire Luke Kush’s Painting there was a lot to do. Luke and his project manager, Teo, were great in communicating what we would need to do prior to the start date so they could just come in and do their work. Teo and his crew were excellent. They worked in concert with our facility managers and got the work done ahead of schedule.Our work flow has greatly improved and moral has noticeably increased.
