Jameela Goodman: I took my mother out to this place and it was my first time ever seeing a jazz band play live, and I would like to say that I’m grateful for choosing this place to be my first. I don’t remember the host’s name, but he was superb. He was very sweet and helped me out with a couple things. Everyone that worked there was amazing. I thought the food wouldn’t be that good or wouldn’t fill me up, but halfway through the main course I felt pretty full. Now Lonnie and his band are amazing performers. There was warm energy flowing from every single one of them. I especially loved Lonnie’s energy that he put into his performance. You can tell that every single one of the members were passionate with what they were doing and that they genuinely loved to be there and perform. I’m not all for spending so much money on food, but this is 100% worth it for the cost.

Bob Schatz: It was a wonderful experience with a great show. Very talented musicians. I did have an issue with the service and the food. My wife's beef wellington was excellent although the menu said it should have been medium rare and it was medium well. My chicken was way overcooked. Our server was very nice but seemed overstretched. I was not asked how my food was. When your tab is $300+, you expect a level of food and service that just wasn't there.

Shilan Hameed: Lonnie is incredible and so talented! This is truly a jazz club like no other. The level of entertainment is incomparable - you will have the time of your life! My recommendation: go for the entertainment, skip the dinner. More details can be found on the food below.I would be remiss not to mention the disappointment we experienced with dinner. The food is 3/5, but what's more upsetting is the lack of transparency in their menu. If you have food allergies or restrictions, I would not recommend dining here (maybe go just for the entertainment). For example, I have a seafood allergy and do not eat pork. I expect menus to list all major ingredients in their offerings or at the very least for servers to be knowledgeable about what is in the food items. I advised them of these restrictions yet every course I received came with a food allergy or restriction - Caesar Salad comes with whole anchovies (not listed in menu), Beef Wellington comes wrapped in bacon (not listed in menu, as some places prepare with and some without), and the Rosemary Lemon Chicken comes with collard greens that contain bacon. We were also brought out a complementary appetizer that contained prosciutto. At first I ordered the beef Wellington, then began to question the ingredients listed in the menu when the salad was brought out with anchovies. I asked to change my order to the chicken after receiving clarification on how it is prepared. I was never informed that the chicken too contained pork despite the server being aware of the restrictions. Overall, the salad was good but both the Beef Wellington (husband ordered) and the Chicken were unfortunately very dry. My husband says the Wellington tasted more like a pot roast. Desserts were delicious though. As I mentioned, I would not eat here again but would absolutely come back for the entertainment!Dietary restrictions: Menu is not very dietary restriction-friendly

Kenda Morrison: My husband and I go to a fair number of jazz shows, we look for them wherever we go, so it was a bit surprising when the best one I ever saw was on a return trip to my hometown. Lonnie is not only incredibly musically talented, his showmanship is also beyond compare. I loved that there was everything from Charlie Parker to Marvin Gaye. His daughter also sang one song and it brought me to tears. Etta James is my favorite female jazz performer and her rendition of “At Last” was remarkable, both her voice and the emotion she was able to convey. The pianist, bass, and percussion were also unbelievably talented. I cannot recommend this show highly enough!
Erica Reynolds: Incredible show, amazing musicians, and delicious food. This place is a Kansas City gem--steeped in history but full of energy and absolutely incredible music. It's thrilling to see KC Jazz and history celebrated with such love and hope for the future. Couldn't recommend it more highly.
Thomas Hocker: This was the single most amazing jazz show I’ve ever see ! Truly mind-blowing. Lonnie is a living legend who is ridiculously multi-talented. Seeing Lonnie live is something EVERYONE must do before they die. It is a forever memory.

Michaela Byrd: My husband and I love places that serve unique drinks, and this was one of those places. We are BIG fans of bars with a cozy living room atmosphere, and even bigger fans of excellent bartenders and servers.We made a reservation at a table, without knowing how busy the place would be at 7:00 on a Saturday night. It was not terribly busy, (40% capacity at first) but filled up as the night got later. I would recommend reserving ahead of time to ensure you get a seat.Prices are on-par with other establishments of this kind, but these drinks felt worth every dollar for the uniqueness and experience they provided. I hope to return soon and bring friends!
Jeri Swinton: We moved to the KC area about a year ago, and have many many out of town guests. With one of those guests, we made reservations at the Hey Hey Club last night. Talia and Her Boyfriends performed. It was great fun, mixed ages, cultures, etc. A true KC experience. The drinks were delicious and well made. At one point, the bar tenders were shaking and mixing choreographed with the music, much to the pleasure of the crowd and the band. Highly recommend!

We highly recommend the whole experience of the Reiger Distillery!!

Tay D: I went there this weekend (Sat 1/7) for my birthday and had a great first time experience! We started upstairs at the Monogram Lounge and then ended the night downstairs at the Hey Hey club. I wish I remembered names but the hostess was amazing and very gracious with our group of 7. After a little wait, we were all able to sit together. The bartender was fun to watch while making drinks and his suggestions did not disappoint. The cocktails were phenomenal. The service was great and I had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday here!*I really wish I could remember names because they deserve the shoutout!*

Lisa Gelburt: Visiting from out of town, this was one place on our short list of must check outs. VERY trendy, which as dive bar kids is different for us, but we wanted to check it out anyway. Kind of confusing since when you walk up it looks like you’re at Outpost Social Club (which is connected and basically the front bar) but the kind door person directed us to the back part, which is Panthers Place. Multiple pockets to hang out, starting with a little air stream mobile home with a fake lawn and chairs, then leading to a few spots that have an outdoor vibe while still being mostly enclosed. Lots of plants and lights and like a cozy backyard vibe. We got there late on a Saturday, around 11, so it wasn’t too crowded and easily found a place to sit with great ambiance, but I can see a Friday Saturday before 10 being pretty packed. We got the cucumber cocktail which was DELICIOUS but unfortunately they were out of the ingredients in the back bar and the bartender was SO NICE to go to the other bar to make it for us, which we appreciated (and tipped lots as thanks!) so so much, but that meant we felt to guilty to ask for a second one. We just got a Tito soda instead, and the second bartender was also very nice. Overall a fun place, kind people, and lots of cute/cool photo spots if you’re into that sort of thing. Glad we checked it off the list!

Hannah Varney: this is my favorite gem of KC. One of the most unique places to grab a drink, they have fun menu and outdoor-overgrown-plant aesthetic you won’t find anywhere else. We bring every friend from out of town here, and it never fails to impress. Horsefeather is fantastic, as is the aperol spritz and margaritas (tbh you can’t go wrong with any of them, but these are our faves)

Nothing wrong with Indian music but not for a Saturday night at a place that is considered one of the better dance places in town. Even the drag show was not great with more drag kings than queens. Not a good night.

Joey Postema: Kheaton is such a good bartender. We’re visiting from San Diego. He had us laughing instantly and he gave us so much helpful information about visiting Kansas City. We felt so welcomed and comfortable at his bar in a city we’ve never been to. We bartend back home, but didn’t mention it until much later and he still treated us like family. It didn’t hurt that he definitely has the prettiest smile in this town, but it wasn’t just that which got me to write out some appreciation. Good hospitality is hard to find. He’s got it on point. Xoxo thanks for helping us appreciate this city. He also got it goin on downstairs.
Kiel Vargas-Belcher: Kheaton has truly made my experience in Kansas City the best. He is warm, friendly and inviting. He has gone above and beyond in making me and my friends feel welcome in a new city. I wish I could feel so welcome in every city I visit. The world would only be better with more Kheatons in it! I know I will be missing him not being a local bartender when I head home to California.
Chris Godfrey: A stable for Kansas City, the staff is really friendly, and drinks are inexpensive. The downside is that it feels a bit routine, both the music and acts, and can be seen as a bit dingy

Covid took a toll, the kitchen is currently closed, and they don't open till 5. Music is often old school blues, bluegrass, plenty of open Mike jams of the same. Occasionally a rock or funk band plays... (usually a fusion that fits in the nice warm space). A whiskey and beer pub. Yes, pub vs any ol bar.

After waiting for 45 minutes (after paying the cover charge) waiting for the advertised guitar player to begin, I found out it would be another hour. The guy that was playing in his place sounded as if he was making up the songs as he went along - at about 120 dB.Not recommended.
Mizzou Marine: This place is FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC!!! Awesome owner, great staff and the atmosphere is AMAZING!!! If you’ve had a negative experience here, you love a brick wall. Super fun!!!!

Lot of unique and different sounding musicians played while I was there, which is nice because it allows you to listen to music you might never would have before!

Got there it was myself ,wife and 5 month old.nikki like us and waitress did also. was good until around 9.another employee I think came over and told us we had to leave since did not allow younger in there after 9. So give us things so we could take are food to go.had to ask waitress for ticket since she was unaware. Would have been nice to know from get go.that way wouldn't have gotten to kozy being there and wouldn't have my meal interrupted. Would have avoid the whole place.hopefully it was the truth and not malarkey because of and individual try to go above and beyond. Which was weird since not much people were there. Was trying to support local yet will not go there for a while.will just have to catch Nikki playing at another location for now on
LS Tours: THIS is the place to go for LIVE MUSIC and GREAT FOOD on a weeknight! We visited on a Tuesday and were blessed with hearing the piano talents of Walt and the singing abilities of Talya, who can really belt it out with the best of them! What a great vibe, a welcoming atmosphere and even unexpected back up singers from the crowd! What an unexpected treat!

The music was fantastic, the energy was pure, cozy welcoming. We had the cajun pasta, it was absolutely delicious, hands down the best i have had in Kansas City. My wife is a big foodie and she rated the pasta 10/10 as i would've rated it 11/10. We fell in love with this bar and will for sure, be back! Thank you for giving us a bar to remember. Also, no pictures taken of the food because it was soooo good i didnt even think to take a picture. Next time!
Lillian Anderson: Me and my date was looking for a place to bring in the New Year. We pulled and asked a few people standing out, how much to get in. We were told $65.00. I think that's highway robbery, just because it's New Years Eve. I normally go and it's free or 5-10.00 per person to get in. 65.00 for hats and noise makers ??? Really??

Vince Hamilton: Just learned that this place is no longer a bar but just an event space to be utilized at times for corporate events, weddings, etc. A real bummer as it was one of the best bars with genuine good cocktails in P&L. The 2 stars is for their Google info still showing it as a bar and our group wasting time to drive down there

Joseph Sawyer: Everything it's supposed to be. Very 1950s feel, classy drinks, classier bartenders, and live music.The only downside is that it was pretty empty on a Friday at 9pm. That's why I only stayed for one drink and left. It's not their fault though, so I'm still giving 5 stars.
Laccara: Went one time in 2016 and had a great time we've tried to go back now 6 times but the place always seems to be closed. No answer then you call. I guess they are out of business? Their social media hasn't been updated in forever.

Josephine Lundergan: My wife and I were first timers at the club. We didn't really know what to expect, just looking to meet people and talk, maybe drink a bit and dance. The reception and the security guard were very friendly. The other patrons, however, not so much. They were a bit cliche-y and no one seemed very approachable. And I don't know if it was because we're a lesbian couple, or because we're so young, or because we're new, but a majority of the other patrons kept giving us weird or dirty looks. We didn't feel very welcome, so we ended up leaving early. It wasn't a bad experience per say, just disappointing.
