Bobbie Jackman: Dr. Peter Basta is wonderful as is his staff. I would highly recommend this surgeon to everyone. His staff make you feel like you are family and go out of their way to do everything that you need. I had trouble with my insurance company turning down my surgery and Dr. Basta and his staff fought for me for two months. I was in terrible pain for over a year and now since surgery, I finally have relief. Wonderful experience at Research Hospital also. Best hospital experience that I have ever had.
Paul Miller: Dr. Basta and his staff have earned my total faith and loyalty. I have undergone lumbar l5/S1 surgery using rods and screws during a 4 1/2 hour surgery and a 5 day stay at research. I will be scheduling two more surgeries with him to repair other parts of my back.I can only say that out of all the doctors I've seen, this man is incredible and down to earth. I chose Dr. Basta because of other doctor's praise of his abilities and because he talked with me... not down to me,.. or around me... He was spot on and I felt like he truly cared about me. Dr. Lisa his assistant was also a wonderful care giver with deep compassion for me (her patient). She is a valued extension of Dr. B's hands and mind.This is one top notch surgeon who is willing to take the time to get to know you and the medical complaints that you suffer from. He's my number #1 go to doctor. I felt as if I was his only patient and his staff went out of their way to make me feel like I was his only patient. Give the doctor a shot, I know you will not be displeased!

Linda Hornback: During a very stressful time in our lives, my husband received such good care from Dr. Basta and his staff. He took time out of his busy schedule to sit and talk with us like we mattered to him. We've had several doctors recently who treated us like we couldn't possibly understand the situation and we were "dismissed" after only a few minutes worth of conversation. Spending his time to chat with my husband meant everything. Dr. Basta was one of the kindest doctors we've encountered in years and I would highly recommend his office. Five stars definitely.

The doctor was very knowledgable and helpful. He spent time with me and explained my injury and the healing process. His was very conservative in his medical approach. He actually encouraged me not to have the surgical procedure, gave me the reasons why and then instructed me on how to heal properly, on my own, without medical intervention. I left feeling educated and confident that I received good medical advise to base my decision.

John Kramer: Lee's Summit office: I initially had frustrations with confirming my appointment. From there, I have zero complaints. Had my appointment with Dr Basta. He and his staff did an excellent job explaining what my condition is and the effects it's having on the rest of my body. He went over a couple different treatments.

There have been a few times where the wait was kinda long…but for the most part I get in relatively quick. As for neurosurgeons I have seen Dr Blatt, Dr Neil and Dr Lee…..and all have provided a positive experiences providing thorough explanations, covering risks/benefits and open to my own input and concerns…. Which is why I have placed my trust in them over the past several years!

Toni Taylor: I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in February 2020. This cancer wrecks havoc on your bones, from bone lesions, osteoporosis, and even increases the chances for bone cancers. After continued pain in my ribs, mid back, low back and hips, and no solutions from my oncologist, I went to see Dr. Jayson Neil. Dr. Neil was very attentive, listened to everything I had to say, made direct eye contact, and validated my concerns. He thoroughly went over prior MRIs - something that hadn't been done before. Dr. Neil also referred me to a pain management specialist and is also wanting to send me to a bone specialist. And he's wanting to see me back in six weeks after additional MRIs. I've had more attention on my bones with one office visit with Dr. Neil than I have in the entire 14 months of being treated for Multiple Myeloma. I am thoroughly impressed with his attention to detail and bedside manner. I feel confident I can finally get the relief I need to be able to function normally again. Thank you Dr. Neil!

Alyssa Vandegrift: A doctor said they would call NKC hospital to get my family member help. She told us to go to the ER right after the appt to get scans that she said she'd call in right away. We show up to the hospital, and they said they never heard from our doctor about us showing up, and we didn't get any help.The doctor also said she'd give a prescription to help with pain, but when we got the prescription, it ended up being the wrong thing. Three times, I tried calling the office to get ahold of the doctor and was told "Someone will call you back within a half hour." No one ever did.By the time they did call us back (4 days later), we already went to the ICU and got helped by someone else.
Brien The Creator (Brien Creates): I recently relocated to Missouri, when looking for a neurologist I came upon St Luke’s. Trying to make appointment was a horrible experience. I left several messages before I finally got a call back to see a doctor. Once the appointment was scheduled, I saw a NP. Why would I ever do that. Doug Schell seems very knowledgeable, but that is all. When it comes to care, he is CLUELESS. He doesn’t know how to properly complete paperwork needed for ADA accommodations. Instead of just saying that, he makes excuses for why he can’t do it…. I will never see an NP after this experience. Get you a real doctor…

Or draw proper labs after a head injury leaving me with b12 deficit for 9 months before my pc found out. They drew no blood for me.

Stan Loughery: I saw Dr. Weinstein for over a decade. Unfortunately he retired, but I still go to Neurology to dee Kristie Ledo. I have never had a bad experience. Both with doctors or staff at check in. Have never had to wait more than 20 minutes. It’s rated as the best neurology is the KC Metro area.

I saw 2 other neurologists before seeing him and he is by far the best out of the 3.Dr. Anprasertporn is very compassionate and always explains things clearly to my father about his diagnosis.Staff is always helpful. I honestly don’t understand the negative reviews about the Plaza location. Maybe some reviewers are confused about which office they’re reviewing. Sometimes people are just mad they didn’t get what they wanted.
Jo fisher: I saw my Neurologist here for the past 8 years and she was fantastic. When she left I was referred to a new Dr and am very unhappy to learn I went from A DDO to a NP. I was not comfortable and all the dignosis I have had from different Neurologist went out the window it seems. I am going to needless to say call and ask for a Referral to a DR not NP and one who will actually read my history or I will have to look outside of St Luke's.
Barbara Dwelle: They do not answer messages through portal and ignore refill request. Phone lines are almost constantly busy. When I finally did get through the operator and told her not to put me on hold she got me with the office manager. The office manager wasn't sure of the situation, even though I had emailed her, personally through the portal. After looking through records, she finally refilled the prescription. I'm looking for a new neurologist, not because of the neurologists in the office, but because of the incompetent PA and office staff.
SJplus3: Been with Dr Fields and Christi Ledo since my first seizure, for over 10 years, through 3 pregnancies to navigate, and both with insurance and straight paying cash. I really appreciate them both! Phone calls with office can be a little difficult to navigate sometimes, but overall it's worth it.
Melissa Henderson: Scheduled Apt 3 months in advanced was sent directions to apt location and also confirmed my appointment date and time drove an hour to location and was half bean hour early, to be told their scheduler (person who makes the apts ) had cancelled my apt and put it back in an hour later then what even my paper showed that they sent me. So now I left work and I will be unpaid for 4 hrs. This all could have been fixed if they would send out confirmation messages for Apt. Very frustrated as I sit in there waiting room for an hour and half. Also very unprofessional as the 2 girls that are the face of this practice giggle and gossip and the also allow employees to wear facial earrings I feel are very unprofessional looking.

Laura Schmidt: I have always received exceptional treatment from both Plaza office and Northland Office. I saw my Neurologist for 30 years when he retired. I was referred to a new doctor and ran into some stumbles but I was able to see her NP in her absence who was FABULOUS. NP is professional, very knowledgeable, spent a reasonable amount of time with me and followed up. The office staff has always been professional and kind. My only complaint is that it's sometimes difficult to hold crutches and handle paperwork at the plaza location but that is a function of the physical office set-up not the staff.

charlie bono: Absolutely have built in the past a good rating, however I cannot speak for every doctor their, if I could a rate a 0 I would. How would anyone respond to what this doctor stated to me. You have fifteen minutes and I do not care or wish to hear about your other medical conditions or medications, just what you are here for. Arrogant and strictly choose to gather all the money they can. This No caring Physician even stated to me about the lavish vacation he was about to take furnished by the Pharmasutical Industry. I might add this as well, their overall rating is 3.1 and probably shall drop further. Truly a a pattern of certain Physicians that perform well and those who do not, 5 stars for 1, 5 stars for 5 rating, that is like flipping a coin to see what you get for your lost money. By the way my Physician was Dr. Steven Arkin, this non caring Physician believes in one thing, himself.
Wendy Gray: As a neurologist seeing patients who have had seizures and knowing the state law in both Missouri and Kansas is NO DRIVING for six months. I do not recommend Dr. Croom adding the comment, "but we do not report it to the state." Now it is a fight to try and prevent this individual from driving for that time to keep both themselves and others safe until the meds have had time to see if they work. I would think someone with this much medical school under his belt; he would have a little more common sense!!Very disappointed!

Jacob: I wanted to leave 5 stars as I've been seeing Dr Fields once a year for the past 7 years for my seizures. However, lately I've had a very hard time having my phone calls returned and getting help regarding my medication. I went to the pharmacy last week to pick both of my seizure meds. One was ready, my Keppra was not. Not a problem I still had a few days worth left, at the time the authorization had not been given for my prescription to be refilled...even though I've been on my med since I was 20. I went back in Friday and the paperwork had still not been filled out by the office. At this point I had no choice but to use the generic kind. I've been on it for the past few days and I've had a lot of side effects come up, unlike the Keppra I've been on. I've been calling every day I can since last week and have yet to get my calls returned. It's frustrating since those of us that suffer from seizures know that they can literally happen at any time with little to no notice/warning. I'm hoping to get it refilled today.

Kaylie Bartholomew: Dr. Hall is amazing! Our daughter has special needs and no doctors at Arkansas Children's Hospital could figure out what nuerological issues she was having. It took Dr. Hall 10 minutes of being around her and she knew she was having infantile spasms but did testing just to be sure. Then put a plan in place to help her individual needs. Not to mention they work as a team with her GI doctors there at Mercy Children's Hospital. When we got back to Arkansas and went to my daughters pediatrician Mercy Children's Hospital had already sent him everything. Something Arkansas Children's Hospital has never done and made extremely hard to get her medical records. We would tell anybody and everybody to make the 4 hour trip to Kansas City!

Candace Dawn: The previous reviews are correct. I have never been a patient somewhere where it was impossible to communicate with staff in between office visits. I've left messages without receiving a response. I even left a message for the office manager and she never called back! I requested my medical records to be mailed to me and I was told it was better for me to come to the office to get them since records the office has sent in the past to other patient were lost in transit? That works fine if you live close, which I don't!I liked my doctor (Dr. Cravanas) but what good is a medical practice if the communication with the office staff is extremely poor?! Take heed & go somewhere else if you can!
John R: No problems with the actual doctor, but the staff at this location is a joke, I’ve never dealt with such incompetent people in my life. They will incorrectly bill you, take months to even return phone calls, and when you agree on a price, because they messed up, they will forget to bill you again on what you agreed upon, and just sent it to collections. The office manager here should 100% be fired because she doesn’t know how to do her job, she is a coward who can’t even return calls. Notice all the good reviews are from many years ago, and all the recent reviews are bad, some of whom also mention this worthless office manager.

Julie Harp: DO NOT GO HERE!! I have tried several times to get my prescription changed as discussed in my last appt with Dr. Niles, but had no luck. Her nurse or assistant NEVER called me back to discuss my prescription. I had to have my PCP call this office to get a response. This office is negligent!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!
Jessie Geivett: I’ve been going here for a couple years without issue. Then my doctor leaves and they never tell me. I only found out because I had to call them (took multiple calls and voicemails before I heard from them) to try and renew a prescription (which still hasn’t been renewed). Then the receptionist/secretary lets me know that they had an old number on file. So I give her my new one and she wrote it down wrong! So I drove half an hour for my appointment (that I had to wait over a year to get) and I walk in and the lady tells me “you don’t have an appointment today”. Your phone number is wrong” they didn’t try to contact me any other way (even though my email is ON FILE) so I wasted my gas and time, took off work specifically to come here, and I STILL HAVE NO MEDICATION FOR MY MIGRAINES. Now I have to wait until the END OF FEBRUARY to have my next appointment. It’s ridiculous! Not to mention how out of the way the entrance to the neurology section is. Which is a whole other problem.

How the heck do they not answer their phones when someone calls? I have been calling twice a week with no luck. I just leave a message for my neurologist and never hear back. Tina Nickens: This office has terrible communication. You pay for certain papers to be filled out and faxed but it never happens, they end up loosing whatever papers have been left.. This office is going to be the reason doctors loose patients due to their horrible service..
wendy ellis: I have seen a doctor and a nurse practitioner, both of which I liked, at this office. My issue is that there is no communication. The doctor sent me for a test. I called 5 times for test results. No calls were returned. The NP sent me for another test. I have called 3 times for results with no return calls. I am considering changing offices. I can't have a medical office that I can't get in touch with.
Sam Sagastume: When I was a patient there with Dr. Kohake, I felt so comfortable. Communication was great, treatment was smooth, testing was easy. Now, I've been transferred to a different doctor, who is very nice, but will be leaving after I have some testing. They are unsure who will be following up with me and giving me testing results and a treatment plan, which is quite unsettling. My husband and I are both patients there now, and I'll be darned if I can get anyone to return my calls. Neither one of us is clear about what is going on with our health, and we are unable to get a hold of anyone to find out. I have contacted my doctor to transfer me to a different facility.

I’ve never waited too long either in the waiting or exam room. Jenny makes me feel comfortable and known, more than a “number”. Dr. Ahmed is very thorough, quiet-spoken and competent. He’s also a good teacher to the resident in the room. He’s a good listener! Lastly the young lady who makes the appointments knows her stuff! I feel well-cared for by this team!

Betty Byerly: I saw Dr Kohake for my neuropathy and she really looked at the meds I have taken in the past, the issues in my back and neck and ordered huge amounts of blood tests plus MRI’s for 2 places on my spine. Right off the first bloodwork she found issues and concurred with a Hematologist from Research to try to help me immediately. She explained the seriousness of what is happening and with Covid 19 as to how dangerous it is for me. She has been the Best!!Research Med and now the Neurology Dept are absolutely amazing. Oh and the staff as you walk in the door are just wonderful as well! I wouldn’t go anywhere else nor let someone go anywhere else!! I love this place! Betsy McBrayer: Everyone that I’ve been in contact with at Research Neurology has been truly exceptional!!! They consistently go above and beyond to help and offer a variety of treatment plans. They are very kind and treat me as a real person, not just another patient. They all seem to care about my welfare and progress. They really listen to my concerns and address them. They are all very caring, even walked outside to help me find the medical building when I could not find it on my own. I have never been to any other medical facility where I was treated so well. They are true examples of what all health care workers should strive to be like. Thanks to all of you at Research Neurology for being so wonderful !!!!!!
