Starlight Theatre: what do users think?
Stormi Moskal: Fabulous venue!
Tim Yoder: I had tickets for Matchbox 20 which I purchased 5 years ago for my wife. Due to Covid, the even was rescheduled to this year. Three weeks before the event, I preemptively called Starlight to make sure everything was in order. The person told me that they were re-issuing all tickets and that I had to call StubHub for new tickets as the originals would not be honored. I called StubHub twice, had the proverbial call-backs, and eventually called Starlight again the day before the event. Explaining my inability to get the reprints, the rep told me to bring everything down to the ticket office the day of the event, noting that this will be an issue, and the office opens at noon.I head down the 30-minute drive, and arrive only to have the ticket office tell me that they cannot do anything since it was a 3rd party vendor (StubHub) ticket. Telling me again I needed to have StubHub re-issue the ticket. On my 30-minute drive home, I managed to get a supervisor at StubHub, who told me that LiveNation (who issues the tickets for the event) did not state that the tickets were not being honored (which is not what Starlight implied multiple times). And that if not they would guarantee entry or a refund if my ticket was not honored.I come back the night of the event, walk to the ticket window, and low and behold they reprinted the ticket with a new one. This ill-informed, misbegotten, and malicious effort on Starlight to waste my time and energy due to some issue with another service, epitomizes the poor service to customers who attend their venue. I regularly buy tickets directly through their site, and they way they treated a person who went 3rd party for a hard to find ticket, shows their callous disregard for customer service, and speaks volumes to how poorly managed this space is. This treatment shows the venomous disrespect for a customer and guarantees that the value they hold is one of greed and money, and not to servicing the persons who frequent their establishment.
HeatherAnne Norbury: The shows are spectacular! We've really enjoyed our Broadway series season tickets and will definitely participate again in the future.
Albert Miller: Great performance.
Greg Trial: Had a good time.Matt Nathanson was awesome!
neil solomon: A kanas City tradition
April Wolf: What a great night. Can't wait to come back to see other venues.
Michael Cunningham: Great venue. Good cocktails. Wonderful temperature. They even had two ladies signing the songs (probably for all the close-to-deaf musicians in the audience.)
Tracy Duke: We had the best time at the Louis Tomlinson concert on 6/10. We did the Applause Club pre-concert food. It was really good!! The entertainment in Applause Club was good too. We bought merchright before Louis went onstage. The whole place was rockin'!!!! And I had great seats. My daughter and her girlfriend were in row B on the right side. The girlfriend even got to touch Louis on the shoulder! It was a great night for all of us!!!
Mike Stocker: Awesome venue for a concert
Tracy Blackmore: What a beautiful place to take in the arts!I've visited Starlight Theater for both plays and concerts dating back to the 1980's.The open-air atmosphere adds to any event you may attend. The volunteers are all awesome, the venue clean, and the options for food and beverage are great.I look forward to the next opportunity I have of taking in the arts and the stars!
Elisabeth Putman: Went to the Matchbox Twenty concert last night at Starlight. Matt Nathanson opened for them. Hadn't heard of him before, but he and his band were great! (I shed several tears on several of their songs) I will definitely buy their music. Then... Matchbox Twenty, 3 years after their last Kansas City show was canceled because of the COVID, came back. I think it's safe to say, they rocked everybody's arses off!!! Thanks for such an amazing evening at the Starlight!
Pete Madrigal: Great weather, and our seats had an excellent view of the stage. We made plans to return very soon.
Cory Elliott: This venue is always amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is easy. Everything is convenient. It's easily my favorite place to see a concert.
Julie Sleister: It Is Awesome!!! Beautiful set up, short drink lines, clean, and great acoustics.
Debbie Hanesworth: Always a good time at Starlight. Worst part is the traffic getting out of the area.
Chris Coffman: Tyler Childers show was amazing! Parking was setup good and ran well.
Amber Lee: Beautiful venue! Large fans really keep air moving in there on those hot summer evenings. Clean bathrooms. Concessions lines move quickly. Always enjoy the sound at this venue, too.
Ryan Propst: Clean and in great shape for an outdoor theater!
Deanna Bracken: Went to see Matchbox 20 concert. Excellent venue for a concert!!! Had a great time!!
Janet Wimer: I attended the Matchbox 20 show tonight. The venue is beautiful and the weather was great. The food vendor we went to said they had no food delivered. One thing I wish they would improve on is the view they put on the close up screens. The only view was close up of the main singer. Even during other musical solos, the screens pictured the main singer standing there watching. No close ups were ever shown of any other band members, nor did they pan out to see the band as a whole. Close up of main singer only all night.

Debbie Severson: Went to.see Heartland Mens Chours it was wonderful. Great show and perfect place for a concert.
Darcus Marzett: Wonderful, Exciting! My Family and I Loved it. HMCKC did a Great Job showcasing inclusiveness with the soundtrack and film clips of Special Disney Movies.
Ed Heniff: Nice venue with comfortable seats. I left one star off due to the fact at no time when purchasing a drink did they notify you that it cannot be taken into the venue . Drinks including water must be consumed in the lobby.
Stephen Worsham: Excellent venue. Acoustics are phenomenal, and the staff friendly.
Joell Moore: We attended the Sunday Matinee of the Disney Pride Concert featuring the HMCKC.It was spectacular through and through! The Kauffman Performing Arts Center was a great choice to host. HMCKC is full of talent and positive energy. So refreshing.
Alec Gaug: Fantastic venue. Staff is superb! I enjoyed every second being there!
Elizabeth Gansen: Beautiful! We surprised our daughter with tickets for a performance and the Kauffman Center did not disappoint! Great seating. Friendly staff. We will definitely be coming back!
Monica: Great musicians keeping the performing arts alive in Kansas City. Saw some one with hiking sticks as the tiered seating is narrow and steep.
DeDee B: We attended a graduation for our granddaughter who received her diploma posthumously from Ewing Marion Kauffman school by her little brother. The Kauffman Center was absolutely beautiful!
Lou L: Acoustics were great and seats were generously sized and comfortable. However, lack of center aisles means that getting to seats is a hassle. Drinks are available for purchase in the lobby but are not allowed in the auditorium.
Doug Martens: One of the coolest places in all of Kansas city. Both venues are amazing
Brian Massey: Wonderful venue! The staff is amazing and work to ensure a fun experience
Vaughn Ericson: The architecture is stunning! And the performance centers are top notch. We enjoyed our season tickets to the National Geographic speakers series this year. Looking forward to the next iteration of it next year.

Lori Thurman: Entry and egress were great, very organized. Wonderful venue!
Gwen Tucker: This a stunning venue with excellent staff and service
Keith Rickert Jr: The room was warm and the seat was the most uncomfortable seat I have ever had to sat in at any event. The staff does a good job of herding cars and people in and out.

Uptown Theater: what do users think?
Susie Hubbell: Fun small venue
Glenn Bourland: Got to see Bad Omens here, really cool venue.
Sarah P: About died inhaling everyone vaping inside which I had no idea would happen but looking at the site, it says it’s a non smoking venue including vapes and e-cigarettes. I was there for 4 hours and should’ve honestly left as soon as I was aware of it.
Crystal Hovey: Awesome location to see a show. They have a bar downstairs and upstairs, which is nice. Love the style of the theater. It's beautiful!
Dana Lippold: First time seeing a concert there, fantastic venue!
Rob R.: Beautiful venue, friendly service, very expensive beers.
Taj Moses: Saw Sisters of Mercy opened by A Primitive Evolution. The venue was clean and we'll maintained. Staff was friendly but efficient. There was even a very cool bathroom attendant in the men's room. The interior design is really charming. A really fun place.
Hannah Kat: Great venue! I want to see more concerts here BUT they wouldn’t let us back in after the show, not even to buy T-shirt’s. I stepped out to see if the band would do a meet and greet and then they wouldn’t let me back in to buy some t-shirts! I didn’t get to meet the band and I didn’t get any t-shirts! Totally bummed! Sisters of Mercy rocked!!
clark batson: It is restored and immaculate inside. Good parking close by. Great concert hall.
Edwin McMillan: Been to many, many shows there. I've been in bands that have played there. Always a great venue, and has a side room that also has a smaller more intimate vibe. Also great bars at descent prices...I guess. Lol
Van s: Love this place. Perfect size for good shows and the bar manager is awesome!
KC Event Co: The uptown theater is an amazing venue! We had the pleasure of working with them for some recent events, and they were so accommodating for everything! Thanks and we hope to be back soon!
Nicolaus Mori: Always good vibes and friendly staff
chelsee kingrey: Had a super time at the Bad Omens concert 6/2/23. The venue was super cold when we got in and you could feel the ac try and keep up with how hot it was in there. (sold out show no way it could 100% keep up). Staff was friendly and patient and everything was clean.
Leesa Balisalisa: Good venue. Loads of parking across the street. If you're coming in late, let the folks at the door know which show you're going to, they had us waiting in line for a different part of the venue and missed a little bit of the headliner.
Kenny Bales: Amazing security, staff, and venue. Super helpful and chill.
Yadira Chicas: Easy to find with plenty of nearby parking.
Thomas Jones: This is the best place in Kansas city to see a indoor show
Nicole West: Ways a good atmosphere
Teresa Wilson: Always good vibes and great stagg
bunnie foofu: Great venue! Parking is a challenge, though
