Doc's Caboose, Inc: what do users think?
Steve Sleeper: Doc's has model train stuff that is hard to find elsewhere, and Doc is a great guy. We had a wonderful visit with him. He let us see his model train layout, and took us upstairs to see his art gallery at our request. We also saw his screen printing operation and he explained how he does serigraphs...had a great time.
Mike Capper: Good selection and friendly service. Authentic location.
Julie Perry: Nice time shopping and adding to our RR collection! Neat location. Had fun watching freight trains go by...next to the store's parking lot!
Chris Reyes: Neat spot to find your train hobby needs
mark lintz: This is a hobby I have just started about a month ago me and my girlfriend.. I have been to train stores this one is the best of all of them. The man is very nice very considerate very reasonable I definitely will return..
River Gabbert: Really cool store.
Tom: Meticulously set up for the model train fan! The store is neat, well lit and logically organized for shopping. Details galore, wide variety of scale trains and accessories offered and easy to find items! Magazines, videos, DVDs and signs help the railfan create an atmosphere for enjoying The Best Hobby in the World! Will return again for more needed stuff!
KKEM641: Nice shop in an old part of town, and has a connection to the railfan. And thanks for hosting the Virtual Railfan cameras. If you like train horns this is the place to go.
Greg Eakin: Not to give a negative review but I also wasn't able to get into the store. Rang the buzzer on a Saturday afternoon with my son waited 10 minutes then gave up. Maybe I will try calling ahead next time.Owner messaged that he was having health issues, I was worried that was the case.Hope he gets well soon, looking forward to visiting the shop and doing a little train watching while in the area.
Samantha Gaddy-Collins: It sucked, my eleven year old kid loves model trains. When we got there we rang the doorbell and no one came. Then the doorbell said he would be back in 5 mins. We waited 5 minutes and no one came so we walked around the city for 30 mins and when we got back no one was there. We waited even more and no one came so we left. My eleven year old son was devastated. He had been asking to go for a week. I recommend to never go there and go anywhere else.
Sergio Castro: Good source of HO scale part's
Chris Price: Best model railroad shop I have found.
Susan Wheeler: Great place to visit
Karen Fernandez: Staff is very knowledgeable and low pressure...much better than other places in pricing... They really try and get you the items you want

Kevin Love: Doc has a great store that caters to the HO and N scale model railroader. There is a nice mix of items in stock and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly.
Dane Colfax Stephenson: Good selection, and a very friendly owner...worth the drive from where I live. About an hour away.
Bob Myers: Always friendly and helpful.
Brian Kemp: Friendly staff and nice place to shop.
Duncan Curd: Great hobby store, light and well laid out in the funky Bottoms neighborhood right beside a high traffic service of rail lines
Jims huntfishtrap: Way overpriced !!!!

Fred's Train Shop: what do users think?
Goose: Very nice people. Gave me great advice for my trains.
Gregory Corliss: Very large collection of O, HO and some N and G scale trains.m, many new and many used. Also a great parts supplier willing to help with what ever project you may have.
Gerold Atkins: Love trains.would like to have hobby where i live.i think i have no room.
john milholland: I was impressed by the wide range of items available for the different scales.
Gary McDaniel: The place was well stocked. I bought most of my diorama stuff here. Will return when I need to replace supplies.
Joseph h Bragg III: Very nice selection, friendly service!
craig frost: They have a great selection of product. Very knowledgeable and friendly.
John Ledom: Good selection of railroad equipment. Only downside for me was that I model in On3 narrow guage and none was to be found there. But to be fair On3 is a small part of the model railroading community and it would be difficult to have on hand all spectrums of the hobby.
djcmission: Best model and toy train shop I have ever visited. There's a complete AT&SF semaphore signal in the front window. Peco switches, brass HO rolling stock and locomotives, tin plate for collectors, z-scale to garden railroads.
Launa Kowalcyk: Wonderful first time experience...great array of many different train items for enthusiast. Friendly and helpful staff. Taking several items back home with me.
Railfan Willie Melendez: Bought a Lionel Wabash gold steam engine 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
David Barton: Great store. Friendly people. Fred and his dad are very nice.
David Greenberg: Was in town for a model RR convention nearby.Great store for your model train needs! Huge selection of HO, N, O and Fred's a nice guy too! Great book and magazine selection as well! Don't skip this place!
Schlotty D: An amazing train shop that is clean ,well organized, and well stocked. They are knowledgeable and helpful and I have never felt pressured to hurry or make a purchase during any of my visits. Prices are very fair. They carry a lot of products in multiple scales which is rare these days as many shops are now primarily HO and N scale.
Jeff Szymura: Great model train
Paul Pauesick: Great selection hobby trains and layout supplies. Products are displayed for easy access and inspection. Fred is very helpful. No restroom access is a drag if you're an old guy or if you bring the kids.
Dave Goodman: Nice selections of various train scales. From Z to G.
John Elliott: Great place, helpful people...
Phillip Edds: Great service and selection...
paul hill: I will be returning most definitely. They had everything you could think of for ho style railroads and all the parts and accessories you get everything of.
Mike Meldahl: Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Huge inventory to choose from.

Hobby Haven: what do users think?
Scott G: Hobby Haven is an excellent shop. I wish it rented out the space adjacent to the store for a race track, or hosted racing on Sunday mornings. If I had to choose, I would get rid of Hobby Haven and bring back Hobby Town. Hobby Haven offering to order parts isn't helpful in 2023. Amazon can get me RC stuff overnight.
Jason Miller: RC cars and planes, model kits of all sorts, and many accessories. Very cool place
jen albright: These guys are beyond great! They have helped and fixed and recommended stuff, so glad we found this hobby store.
Mr. X: Great place!
Bob Kleinmeyer: Just went in to look around this time and they are very friendly and helpful, will be going back
Nicholas Kotschwar: I entered this so called Hobby store on a slow Wednesday - Early October around 2pm. I was also at this location checking out what they had to offer the prior day and the same two gentleman were working the counter. I’ve been coming to this exact location since 1998.The bigger gentleman is impolite & is socially inept - The lengthy gentleman was bent over the counter searching a magazine endlessly as he was the previous day.I find it extremely unprofessional to have such staff members representing this type of small business.I simply came in to purchase a XT60 cable - I received a smug response of, “no” - mind you this is a VERY E Z to find power plug & cable combo.I am disheartened with Hobby Haven & wish the best for this location but unfortunately you will no longer have me as a customer. Shame on you.
Tony Pancakes: Used to be a great place to go but now they just ignore customers and hangout with their friends well they work. They had a great team of guys before and now it’s all new people who don’t care. I’m shopping online from now on.
Gabriel Anderson: Awesome selection. Helpful and friendly staff. Great store
john kriner: A bit pricey, but if you're into plastic models, and enjoy the old school brick and mortar experience, this is the place. They have RCs too. Just a cool little place.
Duke Tran: Could be better. Limited in other collections and staff don’t really greet you so it was hard to tell who works there.
Elizabeth Kennedy: Great store & everyone was super helpful!
L Smith: Glad I found this place for gundams
Shane C.: Walked in, for what I could tell 2 to 3 people behind counter. Just looked at us. No hello, or welcome! We walked around looked at many things and stopped next to counter looking st top shelf items, but still wasnt asked if we wanted help or anything.
Albert Detmer: I bought the parts there, but they took the time and effort to put together the U joint I couldn't figure out when I walked in almost a week later, no charge
Gokken864: Friendly employees and great for all of your model kit needs
Galloping Grump: Man, my first less-than-5 star review. First off, this place has a great selection. Plastic models, RC planes, RC cars, drones, Estes rockets, slot cars, they have it all. Prices are actually really good, in some cases better than what I could find online, I was pleasantly surprised! The only problem is, the staff, with one exception, just wasn't very pleasant. I had a few questions about inventory, and the two gentlemen I spoke to were dismissive and disinterested. Like, come on, we're in a hobby shop, at least pretend to be excited about the product! I did, however, finally interact with a third employee who was helpful and friendly.Long story short, if you know what you're looking for, awesome place. If you need help? Well, that's a 1-in-3 shot.
Kenan Orhan: Very helpful people with good deals on vallejo paints.
Keith Savasten: Great store with a great staff.
20redfrogs: One of the largest selections of hobby-grade RC parts at highly competitive prices. Friendly and knowledgeable employees. I could have spent a couple of hours just browsing here.
Bryce Gorrell: The real deal. This place, in addition to being a well-stocked store, is a SHOP. Every time I come in, I can ask for real technical guidance and I often see others with things they're working on. Everyone I talk to here seems to want me to succeed in my latest project; not just sell me something. They've got it covered: R/C land, sea, air; static models, rocketry, some railroad. All the paints, building supplies, and parts you'll need for all kinds of projects. Balsa, plywood, radio systems, etc. Unbeatable "old-school" customer service, with know-how for all the latest tech. These guys are great!
John Barrera: The worst experience I have ever had anywhere very rude. But online so you don't have to deal with rude people. Hobby Haven sucks big you know what!

Build Up! Import Hobby and Collectibles: what do users think?
Colin McMahon: Amazing shop with a huge selection!!
Efrain Santiago: This place is awesome. I've purchased about 4-5 things here now I think and each time is a great experience. I even live about 40 minutes away and still don't mind making the drive. Had an issue with the machine double charging my card and the owner handled it immediately! Even warned me right when it happened that I needed to check my bank and let him know if it did. And when it did he responded within 5 minutes of my message! Super trustworthy and I'll definitely be a good customer! Also there is a rewards program!
Jesse Millsap: Gundam. Gunpla. Friendly staff a n.v d great selection

Mary Sortland: Always find more than I need.
Jacob Noble: Store is not open at 10:18am all though sign says they open at 9:00am.
Briana Jones: I love hobby lobby I bought a few pieces of decor for my daughter's bedroom
John Stir: Great place for the holidays that are coming
Thomas Denise: Home away from home
Gayle Carpenter: Love the store. Well stocked. Floors need stripped due to moving shelves.
Brandon Lancaster: My go to place when my kids have a hobby they want to pursue!
Diana Wilson: Needs more cashiers
Claudia BelZel: One of my favorites stores
Mike Radabaugh: Very organized and clean. Employees are very friendly and helpful. 2023.
Kyle Lawson: Even though I disagree politically with the companies policies, they do provide good knick knacks and framing for the home. The only downside is that the checking out process is slow. There are no bar codes, so the cashiers have to type in the item number to ring it up. This really backs up the lines.
Terri Thomas: Not busy

Mission: Board Games: what do users think?
Caleb Steele (Pufferfish2002): Really amazing place!!!
Kendra Young: An awesome place for me and my girls to come and explore new games!
T Eiken: Absolutely love that thru have the option to rent some of their board games. Its a separate section but works great for adding options to game night at home or try it before you buy it
Ren: Not too much to look at and the prices were a bit much. I'll stick to local stores, as this was a bit of a drive for me for the selection.
D J: Unfortunately did not feel welcomed here. Walked in and wasn't greeted. Didn't even know if there was someone working there. Looked around and no one said anything to me.There were a few pairs playing games at tables in this very close and intimate space. Looked around a bit for a board game to play for a night with friends, after exhausting Target's options. Was a little confused about which games were for sale and which games were for playing and also was hoping to talk to someone about games similar to Catan. But there was no one behind the counter and no one had identified themselves as an employee who could help. After looking around the space for about 5-10 mins another pair of customers walked in and someone sitting down welcomed them cheerfully and asked them if they needed help with anything. It was at this point that I realized there was an employee there who had been watching me this whole time but hadn't said anything to me. I immediately looked at him with questioning eyes and he looked at me with guilt. We both understood what had transpired but he offered no apology or assistance.I want to believe this was just a case of poor customer service and had nothing to do with me being the only black person in the store. I chalked it up to the hazards of shopping local in Mission, KS.I left feeling unwelcomed and disappointed. Just serve your customers, greet every customer and be available for assistance. Avoids any confusion like this.
Kimberly Zuercher: Son in town from SC so we brought him to play draft on Friday night-WONDERFUL group of people-full house. Great lil coffee shop attached to store makes for the perfect set up.
Christopher Shehan: Great friendly staff
Nathaniel Gempesaw-Pangan: Delightful gaming shop on a picturesque main street. The counter manned by a very knowledgeable owner that offers many CCGs at affordable prices. Modest game space available for you and your friends to enjoy with a convenient cafe connected.A must stop for any players in mission.
Anthony-Joe Reshwan: The 5 stars are not necessarily for the game selection, but it is definitely for the people. The people at the store are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Helped us with every question we had, and had alot of them. Offered us some good suggestions as well. The selection is not the largest, but there were still quite a few games. Visit the store, you won't be disappointed.
David Stelting: A great little board game shop.
Trenton Fuller: I always enjoy shopping here, events are well managed and Mason was great to work with when he special ordered some items for me.
Megan Russell: Bit pricey compared to a few other stores but great for quick pickup if you don't wanna wait for things online, they also do group game nights that are a lot of fun such as d&d, Pokemon and more. They have a great point system for return shoppers.
Joshua McClure: Cozy store with a cafe connected to it. Good food and good games
camden pitts: It was awesome. Nick and Hunter were super helpful. I tried to write a narrative about my experience but it proved to long so I will just say that My experience at Mission:board games was the best shopping experience I have in a long time. The reason for this rest on the work ethic of nick and hinter.
torre norton: Amazing little shop with a great owner and great staff. Always incredibly helpful and personable. Easily the most inviting game shop in town.
Trampas Whiteman: I wanted to give a big shout-out to Mission Board Games tonight.I forgot that RPGKC game day was at Mission Board Games' new store (or even that they had a new store). I get to the Mission location and the doors were locked. A gentleman walked to the door and asked if I was there for the RPGKC game day. He explained the situation to me, then went out of his way to make certain that I would have time to get to the other store and play, and he made certain my directions wouldn't go through any place closed for construction.Thank you above and beyond to help me. It was one of the bright points of my evening.
Nick Dailey: We can always find a fun game here to play as a family. They are always helpful and patient with my children, too.
Amy Wright: I love this game store. The owner, Mason, has created such a welcoming, friendly environment. In a hobby that can be intimidating to newcomers that's really nice to see.
Anne Cartwright: This place is more than a store, it’s a community builder! They create so many opportunities for people and families to connect (unplugged) and find joy through games. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend!
Trevor Lytle: Best place to buy games!
Karl Netemeyer: Truly awesome experience at Community Game Night. Everyone there is super friendly and knowledgeable. The owner, Mason has definitely built up a great community!

Show Me Model Railroad Co: what do users think?
G. Hanson_9: Great place. Great people. Quality products. Not gonna bust your wallet or bank on pricing and frequent deals and sales. Every Saturday a sale is ran!!
George Hanson: Great storeFull of Ho and N scale products. Items I have not seen in years. What a selection. It's just unbelievable. Highly recommend them.
Shane Williams: Great selection in N Scale and HO . Staff will teach you all you need to know about the hobby.
Tom: I have found my train store! Friendly, knowledgeable folks that have weekly specials! Lots of O, HO and N scale stuff to get you running right away! The owners have been there a long time so you never know who you might meet: pro scratchbuilders to published authors to longtime modelers that you can share The World's Greatest Hobby with! Plus, you are supporting a great local model train business! Open Mon- Sat
Lindsay Brown: What a fantastic and friendly shop. The people working there are super knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. They carry a huge variety of model railroad supplies and information. A must stop for any railroad enthusiast.
Rick Perry: Best service and product selection of any model railroad hobby store I have ever seen.
shelby Brooks: Fantastic place very knowledgeable and lots to offer in stock!
TrashMan: If you're looking for something, they probably have it. This store has one of the biggest selections of new-old stock items I've come across. Add on top of that a friendly staff and a community hot spot to hang out and talk trains, it all adds up to the best store in the KC area
CiQ1: Love it. Moving to Kansas. Was checking out the local train stores. This one is legendary. George was awesome and so informative. Will be getting my business. RESPECT ✊🚂🔥🔥🔥🔥. I don’t use the word LEGENDARY lightly either.
Tom Barnes: I have been in a couple times and have been impressed with their friendliness and knowledgeable associates. I want to shop local and abstain from evilBay. I'm glad Show Me is my new go-to model train store!
rick hayes: Best selection of model trains!!
mark lintz: Well it's okay place but it's hard to walk around when you got boxes sitting around everywhere empty or trash sitting everywhere
Denise Greenbaum: Very helpful.
ginger hayes: Anything you might be looking for your model railroading hobby this place will have it. Great selection of locomotives, track ect...
Philip Lawson: Several months ago I visited this store - first impression, well, it's a bit messy and disorganized. I was in need of several N scale code 55 turnouts for a new layout. Surprisingly, they had them on the wall!!! Checking the price I was hesitant. After another couple weeks of searching on-line and getting no where with stock levels that I needed, I decided to bite the bullet and go get what I needed. In a conversation with George and Charlie, I mentioned that other prices were better and inquired if they would offer a bulk discount for the amount I was about to purchase. They quickly and simply said "just take 20% off on anything you want". So I loaded up on the turnouts - coming up 7 short. They happily said they would get the remaining seven turnouts for me. This was a Saturday and by Tuesday, George called me let me know my other turnouts were waiting for me at the desk. I have of course returned several times since buying locos, rolling stock, rock molds and other items. Everytime, George and Charlie discount my purchase for me. I've compared and with the discount they have given, my prices paid are equal to or less than on-line shopping less the shipping cost!!! I've have since become a "regular" customer and would highly recommend Charlie and George's place. The clutter in the small, quaint little place really grows on you. Ask George to take you to the back room for items they don't have out!! That's my take. They are located in a small shop in downtown Grandview, MO - and I really like I'm only about 15 miles away instead of the 30 mile I was driving to Independence to go to Midwest. The friendly service and smiles from Charlie and George make the difference for me. Really glad that I decided to make the plunge. This place and the people have really grown on me and they are my choice for everything that I plan for my layout as is continues to progress.
Julie Perry: Hands down this shop offers the friendliest and most helpful assistance (from behind the counter and from their customers). If you're just starting out with a train set (or adding to your train collection)...then this is the place I'd recommend to come for advice and for their nice selection of products. My husband purchased several of their N scale trains and accessories. Plus, he enjoys looking at their HO scale products and layouts. Be sure to follow on Facebook and note their dates with special discounts. We'll see you there!
Rosa Enos: Charlie and George are great my husband loves going there
david moerman: Awesome train store, tons of HO and N scale
Bob Myers: Best local train store on the Kansas City area.
Brandon Stites: Really haven't been able to get here yet but my grandson loves trains and I want to buy him a trian set
John Stewart: This place is awesome, seriously.
