Nancy Kaul: My husband's steak was delicious. My seafood linguini was not.The crab cakes were more "cake" than crab. I guess that's what happens when you don't order meat at a steak house. Sam K.: I stopped in for Sunday brunch and I’m so happy I did. The hostess welcomed me with a wonderful smile and attitude and sat me at the bar to my liking.I was greeted immediately by the bartender with a fresh water. He was also attentive and polite the entire length of my meal, keeping my water glass filled, eating space clear of used plates and my Bloody Mary requests fulfilled while maintaining other tables in the larger seating area of the bar. They offered three (3) variations of oysters of which I tried all three and was not disappointed. They were fresh and appointed well.I also had the Challah Bread French Toast with sausage and it was delicious! It was served with fresh blueberries, warm maple syrup and sliced thick! The sausages were a welcomed compliment to my meal and in my opinion, ya can’t beat sausage dipped in maple syrup!I would definitely order this again and if this item is any indication of their full menu, I would definitely eat here again if I ever get to visit KC in the future.
Morgan and Taylor Thomas: This place deserves at least 6 stars. Food; great. Wine; perfect. Atmosphere; post Roman Italy meets modern. What earns them the 6th star is the sommelier Lizzie. Her help and personality set our visit apart from any other restaurant we’ve been to. Cannot thank her enough. While this place deserves your business on its own merits…as long as Lizzie is around, we will be regulars
Garrett Kirk: Great experience here with Dalton our server. My wife and I were celebrating our joint birthdays, Dalton was nice and attentive the entire time. The food was great and I was impressed with how fast the kitchen pumped out high quality dishes. That’s hard to do with consistency. My wife enjoyed a Gin and Tonic that was distilled in-house with salmon and red rice. She said it was the best salmon she had ever had. I had a filet with wedge salad, duck fat yukon golds with melted leeks. It was great. The filet was cooked perfectly and the bone marrow butter was a great finisher. We shared the crispy Brussel sprouts and a few oysters. We both enjoyed them and I was honestly impressed with how crispy the sprouts were. The oysters were delicious, fresh and flavorful. The really nice part was since we were both celebrating birthdays, we both got complimentary desserts. $10 a pop, on the house. A restaurant with their stature doesn’t have to do that but it’s really impressive when they do. We’re just two folks having dinner and they treated us like we were Mr. & Mrs. Mahomes. It was really nice and we appreciate it. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a upscale dining experience in Kansas City. Plus it’s in Union Station, easily one of the top 5 destinations in Kansas City. It’s an all around new favorite of ours for celebrating life events.Parking: Large paid parking garage located at 1804 Broadway St, Kansas City, MO 64108. Easy walking distance to Union Station. Up one escalator or flight of stairs to large main hall with Pierponts on the opposite side of the hall.

Berky 1118: Their crab cake eggs benedict were amazing! Much more food than expected. The potatoes were properly seasoned and cooked. We had a large party and the service was perfect! And, certainly not least important, their bloody marys (all 3 kinds) were amazing! Most restraunt made mixes are less than okay to me but this was amazing.

Anita Todd: Our first time eating at Piropos. Our server Jill was excellent. We had the crab bisque which was amazing. My husband had the ribeye. Perfectly cooked and delicious. I had the medallions and shrimp. The sauces were so delicious. They gave us a free sample of the bread and dipping sauces which we ate during and after dinner. Overall excellent meal and service and we would highly recommend. Btw. The sangria was excellent too!!

W Gregor: I came here with some friends to celebrate my birthday. First time at this restaurant, and they did not disappoint. We ordered appetizers and drinks to start, and they came out quickly. The bread basket comes with three different spreads to try out. The appetizers of bacon wrapped shrimp and chicken empanadas were absolutely delicious.I ordered the beef medallions with tiger shrimp. It was phenomenal. Excellent flavor, and the sauce for the medallions was exquisite. I highly recommend ordering the chicken empanadas to start and go from there. They gave me a complimentary cheesecake slice for my birthday. 10/10 for the food, service, and atmosphere.

T Wash: I have not been to the plaza in years due to the service provided to blacks in that area is usually less than acceptable. Yesterday, I celebrated a birthday with at this location. The bartender is the only welcoming person in the resturant. He was very helpful. As for the service, it has been at least 3 years since I have eaten at this location. My partners salmon was over-cooked. She was so confused about the stand-offish service that she was willing to pay full price for meat that clearly wasnt edible. I said no and her meal was changed without an issue. The meat we decided to order was so burnt and dry, but instead of any of the staff worrying about that, we kept getting asked if we were ready for the check after our first round of meat. I then pulled a manager aside like is there a time limit for dining? He then said no there is no problem you can stay for an hour maybe two. I then knew it was time to go. The white family sitting seconds away from us had been there before we arrived, and where still seated after we paid. As we were gathering our things a waiter from another table comes by, opens our debit card folder, to check and see if we left our check paid. Why are we being clocked? It was super uncomfortable. What makes your business believe that all black people are poor or steal? This was the most racist experience I have had in over 10 years. Seriously, if your company doesnt want black or lgbt money, I would rather a sign just be displayed. Ruined the birthday vibe for sure! Do better!

Emari Clark: Redoing my review as the latest visit was much better. Food was great, ordered the Wagyu Ribeye. It was cooked to perfection. Service was decent, it was busy so we sat at the table for awhile before addressed. If you dont like being around alot of people, do not visit during peak times. Seating is fairly close, and can be uncomfortable trying to walk through the spaces.Parking: Parking garage is really close, its around the corner. Across the street from the cupcake store.

Ava Adams: we went for father’s day with three people. we only had a salt shaker on the table the entire meal. the meat service started out great but dwindled shortly. every time i went up to the salad bar for bread they were seamingly out. the meat carvers spoke so fast we had to ask for them to repeat themselves every time. the meat was ok, but barley seasoned. the atmosphere was loud with dishes clanging all around and fairly loud music on top of talking and clear sounds from the kitchen that you could hear from across the dining room. we ordered one crème brûlée and waited for over 15 minutes and watched the staff take a picture in the dinning room. i strongly suggest going to emchamas instead.

Ariadne Flores: The staff was personally my favorite part about this place. They were all extremely welcoming and friendly! It was absolutely delightful seeing them all come out in their swan lake interpretation to present the bottle of wine to the table next to us! They have an extensive drink menu. My partner loved the lamb chops he ordered with a ratatouille side. They were cooked as ordered and paired excellently. There were no vegetarian appetizers to enjoy, so I picked one of the 2 vegetarian options. Plating was beautiful, but it was salty and the flavors clashed more than complimented eaxh other. Nothing was unique tasting about the desserts, although after your check, they gave a wonderful chocolate truffle which turned out to be my favorite thing to eat from there.Vegetarian options: There are 2 Vegetarian options on the menuWheelchair accessibility: 1 wheelchair accessible parking spot

I had Jill as my server, and she was so attentive and amazing. It was hard to pick from all the amazing items on the menu, but I settled on the oysters, hot octopus, and the veal, and I do not regret it. Just wow! This is a must try!

Jim H.: I have eaten at a lot of high end places which have disappointed me, but this is not one of those places. I had a ribeye which was cooked to perfection. Another party member had the filet mignon which just melts in your mouth. Nice romantic atmosphere, nothing pretentious about the decor or staff. This place is not cheap - $180 for two which did not include drinks or dessert - but it was worth every cent. One thing to know is there is no on-site parking so you need to find street parking nearby.
Kelanie Ball: Nice place.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Jeremy Hale: The best meal/dining experience I've had in Kansas City.I had the filet, the other person in my group had the ribeye. The steaks were well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Included sides were excellent. Escargot was great, and the garlic/butter sauce it came in was insanely good. We foolishly had a late lunch and were too full to try salads/soups/desserts, but I'm sure they're all amazing as well based off of what I heard people around us saying. Service was impeccable. This will definitely be my choice for birthdays/anniversaries going forward.

Stock Hill: what do users think?
Katlyn Hilton: We have always been a huge fan of the food and service at Stock Hill. However we were very disappointed when we called on Mothers Day for carry out order to pick up several hours later. We were very rudely told by the man on the phone that they were on a long wait, kitchen was backed up and they had no time to accommodate our request. It was very off putting in that he made us feel as if we were trying to inconvenience them by our request, which as a paying recurring customer this was frustrating
Tye B: Let me 1st say this is upscale and and very beautiful ambiance I enjoyed the soft jazz band there on my visit. My Visit here consist of cocktails and small plate I went for a traditional Old Fashioned cocktail while it was made well I expected a block or sphere cube not a bunch of regular ice this I found a bit disappointing but taste pretty good. It maybe just needed a bit more sugar but at $15 per drink I want it close to perfect Mixology level. I ordered oysters and they were fresh and taste great, however they were a bit small some of the smaller oysters iv had in a while. All in all I look forward to dining here for dinner very soon in hope that my ticket matches my experience.
L M: All around an amazing experience. Very accommodating as a disabled customer. The seating made the difference for my experience. The food was properly timed and spaced.10/10 recommend this restaurant

John Hutzenbuhler: SAD SMUSHY OLIVES. 1st review was a 5 star from a couple months ago and had a great experience and excellent service from Gary and positive interaction with mgrs. Review from 5/13/23 is 2 stars. Restaurant is still unique and looks great. However, had a very poor dining experience. VERY slow to get a drink. Martinis came out wrong and had to send back (asked for NOT dirty and NO vermouth). When drinks came back were not dirty but still had vermouth. The olives were very sad and smushed - I would have been embarrassed to serve them. Medium rare filets came out medium. Tried bone in filet for first time but definitely not worth $30 more. 3 people was $375 with one drink each - plus tip. Expecting a flawless, stellar experience but was very disappointed - service, food, drinks and value.

I took my wife out for our 12 year anniversary and it did not disappoint. The wagyu steak is hands down the best steak we've ever had in our entire lives.., it was worth the price by far! The chartreuse cheese board was just as amazing! If you have a special occasion I definitely recommend this restaurant!
Benjamin Monroe: Best steak I've ever had. Brett is a great waiter and we appreciated his service!
Jill Pelletier: We hosted a priviate dinning event at this restaraunt. This is our second time at this venue due the fact that the first time was an amazing experiance. Prior to the event we check the establishment out to insure everthing is going smothly. They did not have the tables set up as requested. Spoke with Tiger, the Manager – he said he had no noted for conference style (they had 2 rows of banquet tables, seats on both sides so people would be sitting back-to-back) he said his staff comes in at 4:30 and would rearrange – and he would call so I could go back and place the seating cards.5:15 hadn’t received a call saying everthing was ok – the tables were not rearranged, spoke with Tiger, he said they are getting right on it. I mapped out the seating chart and left him the placecards. We arrived with the group at 6:30 and seated right away. Cheese/crackers or apps were not out, did not have wines out, or the wine selection noted at all. We needed to go through the wine list to select. Drink orders did not get started till almost 7 – actual orders for Course 2 not started till about 7:20. We have one server for the group or 22, for the most part – taking orders, serving entrees, and dessert (he did have help with refilling water and soup/salad arriving). He really wasn’t reading the room, as far as transitioning out one course to the other. We had to ask for drinks/refills a couple times for some people.Overall the food was great. The service was less than average for sure – compared to the last time we were there.
Emily R: My husband and I went to Stock Hill to celebrate our 15 year anniversary. It was an absolute perfect evening. The food was amazing and our servers were very friendly and attentive. I can't think of a single thing that would have made the night better. Highly recommended to anyone looking to have a special night out on the town with great food and drinks.
Christin Starr: The food was okay, but the service we got was just sorry. This was just this past Saturday and it wasn’t busy at all and we were surprised by that since it usually is. It wasn’t like our server was flustered with tables (we were one of the two she had upon arrival up until close, and if you’re upset about how not busy it is maybe try to actually be nice to your tables so you can be tipped well). She definitely had a bad vibe from the beginning and acted like she didn’t care for us and it really put a damper on the evening being we were out to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday. We are also not rude to service industry people (in general, but I’m also a server myself) so it was clear she just didn’t care, or maybe she just didn’t like POC’s, because her other table of people were not POC’s and it was clear to see they were dealt with better. I honestly regret even tipping her, although it was below average of what I normally tip due to the level of service we got, if I could take it back I absolutely would. Probably should’ve tried to switch servers mid dinner, but who wants to have to do that?? Dare I say you will get better service at a Texas Roadhouse or any other chain restaurant for a third of the price! It was such a let down, so much so that we think we’re going to redo this birthday dinner at 801 Chophouse! They never disappoint! It was one of the options I could’ve chosen from anyways and SHOULD HAVE. If we ever return we will try to make sure we never have the same person again.
Zachary Keck: This is one of the best restaurants we have been too. The staff was amazing from the time our group arrived. We had a 4 course meal and everything was fantastic.Recommended dishes Cheesecake, Chocolate Torte, Wedge, New York Style Cheesecake, Meatball Appetizer, Wagyu …More

Chad Trease: Everything was 5 stars across the board. Amazing, eclectic dishes and cocktails, and the entire staff was as warm and kind as could be. Put Antler Room on your list (ideally at the top) if you've never been. We'll certainly be back.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Megan Anderson: One of my favorite restaurants in Kansas City! If you are a foodie as we are, you will certainly find dishes unlike anything you have had before. We leave every time excited about numerous dishes and trying things we never would have considered. For example, SWEETBREADS, they make them absolutely divine. I love that everyday we walk through the doors that the menu is brand new and inventive! We love sitting at the bar near the kitchen so we can watch everyone channel their creative skills. A must try!
Shai Mason: Hands down the best food and service I have received. I will definitely be stopping in Kansas City just to eat here. Big props to Drew and Chris for making me and my friend feel welcomed even though we strolled in near the end of service. The food was immaculate and the kindness and down-to-earth nature of the people working at the Antler Room is refreshing. I appreciate how much work goes into each dish and if you want to have a wonderful experience you should come here.
Evan Glasier: One of the most overrated places I’ve ever eaten. Minuscule portions at NYC prices.
Matthew Rowland: Great experience from start to finish!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Seared Duck Breast …More

Emily Lemus: The Antler Room is my new favorite spot in KC! Food was beyond my expectations and their menu has a little bit for everyone whilst still being adventurous. Service was great as well! It was my first time ever here and the friendliness of the staff and just general vibe was lovely; Such a small cozy place to enjoy a delicious meal!
Charles Franklin: Our family joined my wife and me to celebrate our anniversary. We had been here before and were somewhat familiar. The dishes are seasonal, so you may not get something you had before. We ordered one of everything and split it. They put their touch on every dish, and it is delicious. Katie was our server, and she was attentive to us. She kept our drinks charged and plates and silverware clean.
Jessica Hazlett: I went in not knowing what to expect, so I was very worried when I found out it was a family-style serving situation, especially considering the small dishes I'd seen in reviews. Sharing the small (delicious) dishes among 4 people definitely left us wanting more, but by the end of the last course I was full. Not overstuffed, not too full to walk, but satisfied, which I very much prefer. I loved it, but if I were to go back, I would probably stick with a party of 2 instead of 4.
Amy Fantasma: Delicious!! Food is excellent!
Barbara Findley: Amazing food and the service was impeccable! We loved the experience and highly recommend it for a great dining experience. I can't wait to go again when I am in Kansas City.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Allison Koelzer: Incredible, eclectic dishes in a vibey, friendly environment. Cocktail and bar program is always banging!Go for the veg forward dishes, you’ll fall in love with greens and root veggies in a way you didn’t think you could!
Darrell Loo: The Antler Room is my favorite restaurant in town, and as always, my recent visit on Thursday didn't disappoint. I had just returned to town and was eager to relax in a comfortable atmosphere. Settling at the bar with a delightful glass of wine, I perused the seasonal menu with anticipation. My meal began with the irresistible Nori Shokupan, a must-have staple whenever I spot it on the menu. I continued with the Romanesco dish, featuring golden hummus, anchovy brown butter, crispy chickpeas, and anchovies. This flavorful dish showcased fresh, delectable vegetables. Another standout was the Cucumber dish with smoked salmavocado, tahini sauce, and buckwheat lavosh in a rose vinaigrette. This simple, refreshing dish was beautifully balanced by the vinaigrette.Next, I savored the Pan-Roasted Veal Sweetbreads, accompanied by beef tallow whipped potatoes, endive, white wine mustard sauce, croutons, capers, and rosemary. This hearty, comforting dish was a delight. I also enjoyed the Seared Duck Breast, served with fried sunchokes, local spinach, ravigote, and umeaboshi plum jus. The duck was cooked to perfection, and the sweet umeaboshi plum jus perfectly complemented the dish.To conclude my meal, I couldn't resist the Coconut Panna Cotta with pandan ice cream, mango sauce, and caramel tuille. This light, refreshing dessert, reminiscent of spring, provided the ideal ending to my dining experience.
Warda Shafi: I always prefer better quality food in small plates over mediocre food piled on the plates. I had the haddock with bok choy, sushi rice, caviar, and mushrooms. The dish was a little soupy, always a plus for me since I'm a huge soup fan. The food was delicious and looked wonderful, and I could tell the ingredients were of high quality, always a delight. This was a hearty meal, all the while very light on the stomach.
Mark Steele: Really impressive meal in quaint neighborhood of Kansas City. I was recommended here by a local foodie...and their level escalated a few notches. Not a immensely large menu, but quality and thought out. This was my last stop before airport, so only got to enjoy a few items:- Rabbit and Kale Tortellini- Veal SweetbreadBoth were easily paired with a wine by the glass.Everything is well valued, too.Bartender knew his selections and pairings well.My only regret is that I didn't have enough time to enjoy more.Well done to the team. Experiences like this happen only with commitment and leadership at the top.Be smart and assure you stop here. If I lived in vicinity, it'd be a bi-weekly trip.

Affäre: what do users think?
Patrick Walker: A nice, updated take on the typical schnitzel and sausage fare you typically find in German restaurants. The brat trio was delicately flavored and nicely sauced. Preferable to the seafood risotto dish, which was competently executed, but nothing beyond what you’d find in another good local restaurant. The Painted Table dessert was remarkable in sweet flavors and in flame-illuminated presentation. Truly unique.
Jess Len: WOW. WOW. WOW. Enough said! Wow! The food was amazing! Came here on a Saturday evening as a lovely double date night and we were all so impressed! Everything was perfect, the food, the service, the drinks, the atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for the BEST German food! Thank you for such a great experience and I cannot wait to come back and have some more!
Kathleen Watson: Recommended dishes Jager Schnitzel, Wine PairingMore
James Symmonds: Looks like it would be a nice date spot. Bartenders are really nice and the owners are around. Update: I still have yet to have a date to bring in but it would still be a good date place.
Brit Ann: Truly a treat to go to Affare. You definitely don't get the chain vibe from this place that even some of the more high end places give off around KC which is nice. Service was amazing and the food was great. High quality ingredients with mixtures of flavors that you don't expect and they still somehow taste amazing together. We got the Hummer Poutine, Risotto von Meeresfruchten, and Jakobsmuscheln mit Entenleber. It all was so good - loved the seafood. I'd probably go for a lighter starter next time but we were curious about lobster poutine.
Brent Sear: came to affare for a baby shower. the outdoor courtyard is great.
Brien Barnett: Recommended dishes Jager Schnitzel, The Painted Table, Painted Table Dessert, Wine Pairing, Charcuterie Platter, Black Forest CakeMore
Sherry Smith: I would give this restaurant 100 stars. The food is excellent. The Jager Schnitzel was crispy and the meat was tender. The duck breast was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the morels and white asparagus. On top of truly wonderful cuisine, the service was outstanding.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Woodsie Woods: First time and it was great. Ordered off their new seasonal “white asparagus” menu. The white asparagus soup had a nice deep flavor but was a tad too salty. I was very excited to see morel mushrooms on the menu with the white asparagus and morel mushroom spatzle. This dish had a nice sherry cream sauce, however it overpowered the delicate flavor of the morel mushrooms. Overall pleased with the quality, especially with these recipes being a fairly new addition.
Racheal Soendker: Truly one of the best restaurants in KC. Make a reservation to ensure you can be seated. Especially on the weekends. This is not a place to go if you are I'm a rush. They know how to time the dishes so you are sure to be finished with appetizers before the next course is brought out. They give you time to enjoy each course. If you choose to do a bottle of wine, the server is good about coming back to pour it timely. And the food is amazing. If you can, make sure you get there in the spring for the white asparagus menu. I've been there multiple times and have never been disappointed.

Shiona Deliozar: The service was excellent and the staff was really awesome and attentive. We thought the tasting menu itself was pretty average for the price. Everything tasted fresh but kind of lackluster, especially the apps and dessert and the Black Forest cake didn’t really have the layer of cherries like it’s supposed to. Still happy to try the place out with my hubby for my birthday dinner. We spent around $150 and left very full and satisfied.
Daniel Purdom: Not really a review (always 5 🌟). Free parking at 1801 Walnut St by the Community America branch and covered garage parking around the corner at Corrigan Station Garage. 1827 Walnut St, Kansas City, MO 64108 for $5
Eunice P: The tartar was very yummy though a bit too salty. The veal schnitzel was dry, overdone, and a bit bland and the condiments and cucumber salad too sour. The beef roulade was like fancy meat loaf and tasted okay. The cabbage was delicious, but, again, a bit on the sour side considering it took up the majority of the plate. The drinks, vibe, and service were fantastic. I would have rated this a 4/5 but one of our party had stomach issues after eating the beef roulade and cabbage. I may give this place another try, but probably not for a while.
Victoria Salinas: Enjoyed a wonderful meal! The food and cocktails were delicious and the service was exceptional.
Peggy Lukken: The food is authentic German fare, freshly made and delicious. As always, the service was on point, with knowledgeable and attentive servers. J. Barrett: UPDATED REVIEW, May 2023: HARD PASS. Where to start. This place has gone downhill and gone downhill fast! I don't know if it's lack of good help, or a combination of that + really poor quality food. I ate here three times, under duress, in a 48-hour period. Extremely slow service, poor attention to detail, and hit or miss food every single time! For a restaurant supposedly of this caliber, I had nothing more than a disappointing experience all three occasions. Four of us ordered the shrimp tacos, which I cannot tell you just how terrible they were with kids being able to read this review. They need a complete overhaul of the recipe and they need to toss that disgusting microwaved shrimp in the garbage! Everyone experienced hit or miss dishes, rather that be appetizers or actual main courses or specials. Some of them were tasty, others reflected overcooked swordfish and halibut. You cannot overcook these delicacies and expect your side dishes, which also need improvement, to make up for it. I don't know what's going on, and I especially don't know how they expect to regain trust from patrons, but something must change and must change now for this downtown Kansas City staple! Did I mention they ran out of lobster? Really?2021 review (the good ole days): Top notch location, with amazing food and really great service. Highly recommend for business meetings and/ or a great night out with your significant other.
Alexandra Levine: Service was awesome, lobster rolls and sides were phenomenal, steaks were disappointing and super oilyRecommended dishes Carrot Cake, Lobster Mac & Cheese …More
