At my first trial I was told, “I use this foundation for all my white girls.”They were nice enough to give me one free trial (this time makeup only) when I was unhappy with the first one ($80). At that point I had already paid a non refundable ~$700.00 for the makeup on the day of my wedding. After the second trial, September 8th, four weeks before my wedding, I communicated that I was still not happy. I was told that no one was available for another trial. I didn’t want to be unhappy with the makeup on the day of my wedding, so I chose to do my own. Ended up spending ~$2,000.00 dollars for someone to curl my hair and do a portion of my bridesmaids hair/makeup. Wish it would have worked out differently.

Alyssa Zabel: Communication with Sophia was a breeze! She was always quick to respond and so accommodating when a few members of my bridal party/family changed their minds a few weeks out and wanted to have hair and make-up services after all. She was able to add a second artist and re do the day of schedule to accommodate everyone which was so kind of her. I was happy with my trial hair and make-up and eventually was happy with my day of services as well but was a little disappointed when my artist didn’t seem to remember the look we came up with. We were able to look at pictures and talk through what I was looking for in the moment. My hair was not turning out how the artist and I were thinking so she ended up taking it out and starting over which put us behind schedule but luckily the schedule Sophia created had some extra time built in and the photographer made up the rest of the time to get back on schedule. The final look we ended up with was beautiful and with the exception of a quick touch up on curls between pictures and the ceremony (we expected this because my hair doesn’t hold curl and took pictures outside on a windy day) everything stayed perfectly the whole day. The two artists were also very accommodating the day of when 4 extra girls asked for false lashes which was not originally planned - they helped without hesitation and did not charge me. Lastly, my mom is very picky and the artist who did her hair was very patient with her and helped her find a look she was happy with which is no small feat. Overall, I am happy with the services I received and would book through them again. I would just want to make sure the artist I worked with remembered what we talked about and did at the trial to make things go a little smoother with the hair. She assembled a team of 4 people in less than 24 hours and absolutely saved the day. She got trials scheduled for myself for both services and was excellent with communication. Her contract is clear and you know exactly what you’re getting. Her team that provided services was excellent, included Bree and Copper for hair and Tai and Lexcee for makeup. I did wedding make up trials with two other makeup artists and those made me feel over done and my facial features were lost. Sophia was the exact opposite. During my make up trial, she made sure that I absolutely loved the look and then recreated it perfectly weeks later. On the day of, she did five faces, four of them that she’d never seen before and everyone, including my 71 year old mom, looked like the very best version of themselves—everyone glowed. My brows never grew out or filled in right after I succumbed to the pencil-thin brow look from the 90's.I often go without makeup, but never without my brows as they frame my eyes. I feel that your eyes and brows are the 1st features that people notice when they meet you. So I want to leaving a good 1st impression. So I hate coming back from a run or from any activity to discover that I now have a uni-brow, as I had unknowing wiped half or an entire brow off by accident. And who knows for how long?😬 Not a good look.I told Kristine that my goal was to have "everyday, natural brows" that went with a clean-faced, girl-next-door look when it suited me. I don't want to have to "put my brows on" everyday or multiple times a day. But if I so inclined, that I could also easily accentuate for a more " made-up" look for a date night with my husband.Kristine first did microblading on me about 5 years ago. Her hair-like strokes are so natural that none of closest friends ever knew. In fact, when I finally shared my beauty secret with some of them, they were surprised and so impressed that a few even asked for her information. Even my cousin never realized that I'd had anything done; it looked that natural.I really love that microblading isn't permanent. Because my brow shape and color will probably change as I age, I want the option to adjust my look with my aging face. That initial microblading lasted nearly 3 years. I went the last 2 years of "putting my brows" back on daily again and decided that I don't want to mess with it anymore...way too much effort after 3 years of ease.I highly recommend Kristine. She was as professional and meticulous this time as she was the first time I experience her work. I am about 7 days out from my last microblading touch-up. Kristine was spot-on with my brow shape. That color is a tad darker than my natural. But I'm not worried as I know, from past experience, that the color should settle closer to my natural color in the next 1-2 weeks.I couldn't be happier. A C: I don't even know where to begin, AMAZING experience. When I got there, I was welcomed by Ms. Kristine herself, as she finished with a client I couldn't believe how beautiful and welcoming the waiting area was. She had different teas, coffee, hot chocolate, all different kinds of snacks to choose from. Then when I went back to have my eyebrows done (shaped and tinted) it was an awesome experience all the way around. I have dealt with eyebrow issues my ENTIRE life. They have always been very light, sparse and I've had to pencil them in. It's always made me a tad insecure. I have been other places to have them tinted, waxed, even threaded, they've often told me I'd probably need microblading. Vreni Fernandez: MICROBLADING REVIEWI had a great experience with Kristine! As I was doing research on microblading in Kansas City, I quickly realized Kristine was the only one in the city with enough experience with permanent makeup. Prior to the consultation I reviewed her website and made a list of questions. During the consultation, Kristine explained the process in great detail from before your procedure to aftercare (all of which is on her website and in the handouts you are given). She also shows you pictures of her previous work. If you are a good candidate, she then uses a wax pencil to give you an idea of what microblading techniques work best for your face (hair strokes, shading, combo), while also defining what shape works best for your face.The first session, which is not the same day as the consultation, is to map the shape of your brow using the technique and shape you have chosen. The second session is about 4-6 weeks after your first session and is to “fine tune” your eyebrows by adjusting the shape, color, etc. You should expect to feel some discomfort at the beginning of the procedure, but once she is able to numb the area (numbing the area makes the skin tougher, so she tries to get the basic shape first) you shouldn’t feel anything. The information on her website and on the handouts you are given go into more detail about what your healing timeline is like. You should expect both sessions to take some time since Kristine is trying to achieve the best results. Even though this is permanent makeup, you should expect to have to come back for a refresher session. Depending on what type of skin you have it can be anywhere from 1-3 years. The ink used in microblading is evolving rapidly and in some cases, you should expect the refresher session to be in the 3-4 year range.Pricing for the procedure is comparable to some of the best around the country. I would not make your decision solely on pricing since microblading is permanent makeup and you want someone who is not trying to build their portfolio, but instead is experienced enough to show you an extensive portfolio with their scope of work (which Kristine shows you during your consultation).Kristine’s spa is very tidy and she emphasizes her efforts to make sure the areas where her procedures are performed are as clean as possible.If I had to do it again, I would go back to Kristine!

We had three women come to our Airbnb, and they did a wonderful job. It stayed on the whole day, it looked exactly how I wanted, and the fake eyelashes looked super natural.I gave my hair experience a 3/5 because even though it looked amazing, it sort of fell apart throughout the day. I had it half up half down, with a braid on the left side and twists on the right side. My hair is super thick, and within an hour it started to fall out of the very complicated bobby pinned setup. I had to have my mom and a bridesmaid fix it multiple times throughout the day (at least 5), and we had to do a really big touch up right before the ceremony. Also, because my hair is so thick and straight, it has a hard time staying curly. I had hair and makeup, she had only makeup.PROS: Alida did my hair and did an AMAZING job. My hair is kind of tricky to deal with (especially my bangs) and she took her time making sure everything was perfect. What’s pretty miraculous is that it was a pretty humid day in KC, and my hair held throughout the night and even looked great the next day. I hate when special event hair is crunchy from all the product, but it was soft and natural.Rachel did my makeup, and perfectly recreated the look I showed her on Pinterest. I’m Asian, so a lot of makeup artists do eye makeup on me that doesn’t suit my eye shape, but Rachel worked with what I had and it looked amazing. My makeup looked great in real life AND photos. I do modeling part time so I know how difficult it is to achieve makeup that can look good in photos and in real life.CONS: My friend had her makeup done by Drew, and no joke, she was finished in 20 minutes. She asked for a glowy look but was caked in powder instead. Her eyeshadow looked nice, but she was constantly getting stabbed in the eye. She was originally scheduled for false eyelashes but after the treatment she got, decided to forego those. She ended up having to go home and add blush, highlight, contour, and lashes because the makeup artist managed to add weight to her face. We were both concerned I would get the same artist, but luckily I did not! I saw on the website that Drew is a new makeup artist, and the salon was very busy, but I don’t think any customer deserves to spend $60 on a terrible 20-minute makeup look.My experience was definitely worth 5 stars. My friend, however, probably 1 or 2. The salon itself is very pretty and clean, and they validate parking for the parking garage next door. Depending on the artist/stylist you get, I can recommend POSH KC!UPDATE: Ashley was kind enough to refund my friend’s makeup service and send an apology. However, both my makeup and hair did not look good.It seems they may not have experience with olive skin tones or thicker hair.My makeup was a few shades darker than my skin color. My dark circles were not concealed at all. I lost definition/cheekbones after the makeup. The makeup overall looked very messy and just dirty - like I had dirt on my face. Also, it looks nothing like the picture I showed.For my hair the stylist didn’t apply any heat close to my roots so I was still a bit frizzy and did not look polished or put together at all. The hair do didn’t hold up even through the makeup session. It was falling apart as soon as it was done. Also in the beginning I asked for loose wavy look but I got a very curled prom look.It felt like they didn’t have experience with olive skin tone or thicker hair.They were very nice though!Update: they fully refunded me for the service.
