Kansas City Club: what do users think?
Melissa Sigler (Wedding Photographer): I recently photographed a wedding at Kansas City club and really enjoyed it! The location is great because its in an area that isn't overly busy in downtown KC, but close enough to quickly hop over to some of the more popular KC photo spots. OR, just stay in and around the venue as its absolutely gorgeous! Looking forward to working here again.
Whitney Buchmann: I've been here 3 times in as many months. It's such a relaxing environment with knowledgeable and friendly staff. There are great package options to combine different services and make a day of it! Don't pass on the VR meditation either. I was surprised how much the nature background elevated my relaxation and focus.
Nikelle Haas: Amazing 👏
Amanda Turk: This place is quite literally the most perfect space to get married. Renee, the event planner, is absolutely amazing. She's incredibly responsive and helpful, and wildly nice. I felt at ease talking with her and asking her questions. I was thrilled with everything she did for us from the planning to the event to the cleanup. Kansas City Club is incredibly lucky to have her.The venue itself is so gorgeous, and there are a ton of spaces to choose from. One thing that's really cool about the place is their incredibly affordable a la carte option for rooms so you can pick and choose exactly what you want for your day. We used the main ballroom, the bar, and the groom's suite and it was perfect. We had our ceremony in the ballroom, followed by a cocktail hour in the bar, and then the reception with all of the eating and formal dances and whatnot back in the ballroom. The rest of the night people were scattered about the area, dancing, drinking, talking, and just having fun. The evening was truly beautiful and I'm so happy we got married there. As we walked out with our last box of decorations, I felt sad leaving. Thank you, Renee, for making our wedding everything we wanted plus so much more. I hope to be back very soon! (I already asked my husband if we could get married there again - you might not have gotten rid of us yet!)
Morgan Milligan: This event space is extremely elegant, and the suites are fantastic! For a group setting, the golf simulator is such a fun and interactive addition. I love that it still has a historic KC vibe to it, as well! Renee and her staff were beyond accommodating and welcoming.
Scott Coble: This is where my significant other and I are getting married. Our coordinator at the Kansas City Club is amazing, and very helpful. I’ve been here for business events as well. After the wedding I will update with some more pictures.Recent updates have been to the venue that really elevate the sophistication of the space.
john crum: Was here for mid America LGBT Chamber Event. We had a great time celebrating our 10 year anniversary!!
Lawrence Leek: Nice facility
Tiereny Thomas: Very lovely establishment.Loved that the art was priced
Carlos Vides Advisor Academy: Great place for an event
Mariam Saifan: I am a Kansas City wedding photographer and I am leaving this review based off a wedding I photographed here in the fall! This venue is gorgeous and the team was so nice to work with! I'd highly recommend! It was a photographers dream!
Sarah Watts: We held my daughter’s ceremony and reception at the Kansas City Club. Renee and her team were flexible and accommodating, and made our day (and getting items in and out of the venue) easy. We chose this venue because we wanted a location that spoke of Kansas City, and this historic building did that. The quiet location in this part of the city is excellent and parking for guests was very easy and safe. Another aspect to consider when planning the wedding is where the bridal party and groomsmen will get ready. The Kansas City Club’s accommodations for this were unmatched as I looked at other venues. The groomsmen had a BLAST playing basketball, mini golf, and there was a kitchenette and showers for them to get ready. See the website for pictures; it was worth every penny! Downstairs, the bridal party had plenty of room, good lighting, and GIANT mirrors. I would recommend a mini fridge in the bridal suite, but it was a fabulous and convenient space. The guests really enjoyed the bar and commented on the beautiful woodwork and historic photos throughout.
DB: Very disappointing. I was talking and texting Renee about renting a space for July 16th. We scheduled a day and time to view the venue space. On the date scheduled, she texted stating she forgot the space would be in use during scheduled time and asked if we could reschedule for the following day at 11:30. No big deal, I agreed to the change. When I arrived today, she asked about my intended event date, I again told her July 16th. She said she thought I said December 11th and told me the space wasn't available for 7/16/2022, didn't even show us the space. Waste of time (40 minute drive), and money (gas and had to pay 5 dollars to park next door).
Robert Boscia: Didn't stay for the event...not enough space for those of us that still practice social distancing
Tom: great retro spot
Jeremy B: Nice location.
Rick Williams: Beautiful place. Legendary history. Food is ok. No more than 350 is what I'd suggest. Any more feels uncomfortable. Bar set up is great, no lines.
Delice Dominguez: Kanas City Club is the PERFECT venue, not only is it perfect, but Marvin and Deborah Williams from Shining Star Catering made it perfect for us. I live in Miami, Fl, and imagine planning your only daughter’s wedding from Miami in Kansas City with no wedding planner. No pressure, right! That’s what I did with the help of Marvin and Deborah. They both made it so easy and the communication was fast and on point. They both made themselves available at all times. The venue was gorgeous! Starting with the grand entrance, to the top of stairs, floors, casing around the doors, the list goes on and on. It’s a must see!!! The food from Shining Star Catering was so flavorful. Everyone was commenting on how great the food was (we had Italian). I could have not asked for a better turn out, and I owe it all to Marvin and Deborah. They made it possible to create a beautiful wedding for my daughter.
Julie Mae: Awesome food, service, and the atmosphere is quite unique. The building is more than a historical part of Kansas City. The club is full of rare art, books, and traditions a plenty. The new chef is extremely friendly and flexible - multiple times he has created a dish impromptu to please individual's who expressed interest in something that wasn't on the printed menu. Pretty neat!

EL TORREON KC, Inc.: what do users think?
April Wilson: Great wedding venue! Big enough for everything and everyone. Clean bathrooms. Great parking. Beautiful building!
Mrs. Hermangali: (From attendee's standpoint)Adequately clean.Spacious hall for the event I attended.Nice sound system. No echo.Dais nicely elevated.Large mirror in Ladies loungeParking lot tight for the event I attended. Be prepared to park on the street.Chairs not large body mass friendly and not the most comfortable.Ladies restroom could use more stalls and it would be tight to get a wheelchair in thereNo chairs in cocktail room and no place for frail guests to sit while ceremony set up was being taken down and meal arrangements being set upThere are unattended side rooms, be careful about placing valuables in this area or leaving alcohol containers around! (Major safety and liability concern)
B Porter: Had fun. The private rooms were cool. Cool building not the nicest but unique.
Josh Fosso: Great venue and it's located on the martini corner my old stomping grounds
Andrea Coyle: Clean and Spacious
David Kemp: Public assistance with long lines, no instructions, and limited help
Sarah Server: El Torreon was the perfect place to have our wedding and reception. This is the ideal place to have them all inone with plenty of space. The owner Chris Colvin was informative, attentive, and went above and beyond tomake our day special. It is not easy being an active duty service member or planning a wedding out of state buthaving Chris at El Torreon made it feel like a breeze. Chris thank you for your constant communication andyour willingness to do as much or as little to help our dream day come true. This event space is the perfectblank canvas to decorate or the perfect place to let the beauty of the building shine through. El Torreon hasplenty of options to help you have the wedding day you dream it to be. If you haven't added it to your venueoptions list, please do yourself a favor and do so.Highly, highly, highly recommend.
Mick White: By far one of the more unique event spaces I've been to in recent years.
Chris Binder: Beautiful event venue in a historic building. Great amenities!
Stephanie Smalley: Chris and his team at El Torreon were absolutely amazing. Wonderful communication and flexibility when planning our wedding and incredibly helpful the day of. I feel he went above and beyond for us on our special day. I would highly recommend this event space to anyone!
Elizabeth Goulden: Chris was the best to work with while planning the wedding, and was also so generous. He went out of his way to get to know us and everything was set up as we asked for. I remember he even helped us set up, even though that wasn’t in his job description. This venue is the perfect size for large weddings, the bride/groom rooms are perfect, and the staff is wonderful. Highly recommend.
Rachel Upp: Stop looking. Great place. Professional and friendly. Tables, Linens included in pricing. Perfect ambiance. Wish the walls could talk of all they have seen. Fantastic location with parking AND so much elbow room for everyone. So many decorating and themed visions would work in the spaces!!
Jayk Anderson: Very good
Emily Anderson: What a gem of an event space! Not only do you get top notch customer service, but you also get a flexible event space that speaks for itself in its own simple beauty. While El Torreon stands by itself in it own unique rustic yet modern style, it also serves as an empty canvas for your own special flair and design. Not many event spaces will allow such creativity! Also, for any history buffs out there, this place packs its own wallop of KC history and culture. With reasonable rates, flexible spaces, and EXCELLENT staff and management to handle your event, choosing El Torreon was the best first decision we made in wedding planning. Would hands down recommend to anyone planning any type of event.PS: Union Station and the WWI Memorial are super close for taking pictures there.
Brittany Wendt: IT Was an okay place.
Kim Dyhouse: We had our wedding reception here and I would highly recommend booking El Torreon if you're looking to do the same! This is a unique historical but updated venue and their team is responsive and easy to communicate with. We had plenty of space to get ready in and the on-site free parking is a big plus for guests. We had about 75 people in attendance but this space could easily fit another 100+ guests comfortably. There are so many ways to use this space! They have a great cocktail hour area upfront so you could move your guests during a room flip from ceremony to reception. Definitely check out these guys out!
Oldish Duds: Recently the beautifully unique rich in Kansas City history, a true gem El Torreon KC hosted the Oldish Duds Limited Company’s inaugural Cowtown Vintage & Art Exchange. The planning experience was a breeze, we can’t speak highly enough about the venue staff. From Chris to Dan and Joel they all had a major part to play in the success of our first vintage & Art pop up shop. The entire experience from dream to dream come true was exceptional. We’ll be hosting many more cowtowns at the El Torreon! 🐄🚀
Deetz: Thank you for a wonderfully prepared, worry free event! My daughter had her wedding reception at El Torreon this past Saturday. It was very clean, beautifully decorated, the food was marvelous & the staff were so friendly & accommodating! I would definitely recommend them for any type of celebration; wedding reception, anniversary party, family reunion, business dinner, holiday party, etc!
Ernest Morrow: Wasn't there....
Minister Kathy Robinson: Beautiful venue!!!!
Real Estate Queen Dena Odom: Attended a 20 year anniversary and renewing of vows. This space is huge.

The Abbott: what do users think?
Larry Miller: Too Loud and sponsors table should have had chairs reserved
Audio Rent KC: We've done a number of weddings and events here and have always had a great experience with the staff. Load in and load out has always gone smoothly! Would definitely recommend this venue!
TheMcochran88: The Abbott is such an incredible wedding venue! The first thing that catches your eye is the stunning architecture of the building. The exposed brick walls, soaring ceilings, and industrial-style fixtures all combine to create a breathtakingly beautiful space that is both edgy and sophisticated. The attention to detail in this venue is truly exceptional. From the lighting design to the layout of the space, every aspect has been carefully thought out to create the perfect backdrop! Whether you're planning a modern and minimalist wedding or a more elaborate and glamorous affair, this venue is the perfect canvas to bring your vision to life! The staff at this luxury wedding venue are simply exceptional. They are knowledgeable, professional, and passionate about making sure that your wedding day goes smoothly and is truly unforgettable.Overall, if you're looking for a one-of-a-kind wedding venue that combines industrial style with luxurious elegance, look no further than this amazing wedding venue!
Evie Hauptmann: We just had our wedding at the Abbott this past weekend and I cannot say enough AMAZING things about this venue and the staff!! Mia, the venue coordinator, is top notch and was our favorite vendor we worked with throughout our engagement season. She is absolutely incredible, has the best ideas, and really cares about her couples. Our wedding day truly would have not been the same without her! The space: the Abbott has the most beautiful chandeliers throughout the space and can fit so many guests in there! It has such a cool bar area, cocktail hour space, balcony, and plenty of dancing room! Definitely put your dance floor under the chandelier. I was worried that the acoustics would be bad since it's such large area, but we used Icon Events for our DJ (who the Abbott partners with) and it couldn't have been more perfect! You could hear all the speeches and music from all corners of the venue without any echo!! This space hardly needs any crazy enhancements to make it beautiful because it is so gorgeous. ALSO - the gold chairs made the most amazing statement! We loved our experience at the Abbott!
Brian Yoksh: Cool place! I attended a wedding here and it was beautiful! A couple of bars and side spaces provides a transformative space for many sizes and types of gatherings. The bar service was slow though... 😒 The food was very good! 👍Acoustics of the space are great!🥁 They had a live band and the music and beat rocked!
Michael luce (Tine): Beautiful interior and the event staff were marvelous and attentive.
Michael Liimatta: great event space
Mark of the Sun: I don't think a lot of people can appreciate and respect how beautiful this place truly is.
West Rose: We worked at the Abbott recently for a wedding and styled shoot. It's a stunning and spacious venue with a lot of areas to decorate. It's a blank canvas full of possibility! Their team was professional and friendly.
Abby Mitchell: As a wedding planner it is crucial to work with a venue that is well kept and on top of their responsibilities. The Abbott (and it's sister properties) are always fantastic! From touring with Sam, to setting up with Brian you will be well taken care of.
C: The Abbott is basically a warehouse has a great (but smallish) outdoor balcony warehouse style and finished cement flooring. There is adequate air circulation (still hot though-not too good on air conditioning), small bar area ( could use an additional bar space for such a large area). Best part are on the ceiling, antique chandeliers probably salvaged from an upscale hotel.Band Of Angels fundraiser event was so fun! The event sold out with a 1,000 people in attendance, raising $100,000!Hallmark artists took irreparable, damaged musical instruments making fabulous art pieces. The night proceeded with a silent auction., Money went to give children instruments and grants to go to summer music camps!Only downside was the food trucks ran out of food way earlier.
Simon Curzon: Excellent venue. Awesome ambiance.
Anna Campbell: Great company as a whole, with a range of spaces and guest sizesThe venue management is super easy to talk to and work with
Stephanie Kerr: I attended an event with the Abbott sales team, and they are truly an amazingly warm hearted group of people!I was floored with the amount of passion and knowledge they had, and I totally recommend them to closing friends and family. Please look them up if you’re looking for a venue and ask for Sam!
Clare Frantz: Abbott helped to serve at my wedding, and they were super awesome! They were timely, professional, efficient, and asked questions when they had them. They did a great job with serving, clearing off the tables, making sure people were taken care of, and just helping the venue staff with all of the seemingly infinite tasks that go into running a wedding. Thank you Abbott!
Pam McCarrison: Beautiful location, the staff did a wonderful job of making sure we had a wonderful time.
leonard radulescu: Great venue
Julie Moylan: Beautiful venue
Brien Moylan: Convenient location for a large event.
Bob Friesen: Unique setting with a combination of industrial building with crystal chandeliers. The food was wonderful and the bar was well stocked.

The Grand Hall at Power & Light: what do users think?
Bryan Logan: This was such a beautiful venue to photograph! There where so many great locations in and just a short distance from the venue. And the roof top was the perfect location for the first look! I highly recommend any bride looking for that elegant venue look and plenty of photo opportunities to check out this venue.
J StClair: My company had an event there last week and it was awesome. It’s beautiful, clean & spacious. Good vibe & an urban delight!
Timmy Gibson: As a Wedding Officiant I get to see all the wonderful Venues Kansas City offers and Grand Hall at Power & Light is among my most favorites! It's awesomeness is in the name, "Grand" and indeed it is Grand! It's something you wouldn't think is in Kansas/Missouri, maybe New York, or Los Angeles ... but it's right here in the lovely Kansas City and it's super spectacular. It's elegant, luxurious, posh, and swanky! You should take a tour before you book anything else. It's a must see.
Emma Braasch: This was a perfect setting for our wedding reception! Tyler Chapman was excellent to work with and had great attention to detail.
Michaela Kelly: I highly recommend booking The Grand Hall for your wedding! The team there was so helpful leading up to the day and they made sure everything went perfectly. It was the perfect amount of space for our 250 guests and we got a ton of comments during and after the event from our guests raving about the beauty of the place and how perfectly set up it was. I am so happy that this was the venue for our big day!
Aidan Kelly: The most beautiful wedding venue I've ever been to.
Winona “Pooh bear” Tanner: Beautiful facility.
Jamie P. Ensign: Elegance at it's finest down to every detail. Exceptional place.
Drew Hoffman: The beauty of The Grand Hall at Power & Light will speak for itself! Its beauty paves the way for those fairytale type weddings you’ve always heard about but have never seen. And that’s exactly what happened for us. Our wedding was an absolute fairytale, and our photos at The Grand Hall prove it! But what made us decide to choose this venue wasn’t just the aesthetics of the space or extraordinary bride/groom suites, it was the incredible, one-of-a-kind staff! Our wedding planning lasted nearly two years because of Covid and throughout the entire process, Tyler and Dom were the most patient, kind, and helpful people we could have hoped for! They answered endless questions and helped make decisions we were struggling with making on our own. They treated us (and all of our vendors) like royalty!Fast forward to the day of our wedding/reception, and the entire staff of The Grand Hall was just as amazing as Dom and Tyler! They all worked together to help get us our incredible photos, made sure we felt comfortable, and made sure all of our guests were taken care of.We had the best day of our lives and The Grand Hall & staff played such a big part in that. We can’t recommend this venue enough and hope to use it to renew vows in a couple decades!
Stephanie Ray: Amazing venue. Beautiful wedding and the service was fantastic. Presentation was breathtaking.
Rebecca Pearson: My husband and I toured many venues around Kansas City for our wedding. The moment we stepped into The Grand Hall we knew that this was the venue for us. Tyler (their Event Coordinator) gave us a personal tour of the space and he was so knowledgable and kind about answering any questions we had for our wedding weekend. The space was perfection, absolutely breath taking. It had marble, accents of gold...very regal and elegant. The Grand Hall offers the second floor Mezzanine to be used as our cocktail hour space offering sofas, lounge chairs and multiple rounds for people to stand at while our guests ate Hors D'oeuvres and drank alcohol while waiting for us to take our personal one-on-one photos on top of The Grand Hall's Rooftop Terrace. The venue also provided a bridal suite and a grooms suite for the 'getting ready' process. Dom, the Bar Manager, was very informative about which alcohol would suit our wedding day best and made sure to find us our preferred Champagne and we even got to choose a personal cocktail for both the bride and groom. The bartenders were extremely sweet and our guests loved how much fun they were having while serving everyone. Tyler and Dom were an amazing pair to work with and they made sure our wedding day was flawless. The space held our 170 person guest count very comfortably and the dance floor was extremely large for all of the tables that fit around it. We could not have imagined having our wedding reception anywhere else, the space was absolutely perfect. The Grand Hall has done an amazing job choosing Tyler and Dom to support us- we wouldn't have wanted to do it with anyone else! Thank you!- Rebecca and Zack Pearson
Rob's Boa Imperators: Great venue! Place has a ton of atmosphere.
Tobin Roberts: Beautiful space! Lots of fun was had!
Joe Cusic: Beautiful hotel! Historic and elegant!
Josh Westberg: Awesome venue for a wedding!
Teresa Brady: This is the prettiest historic space in KC for a wedding reception. And we toured just about everywhere! Tyler is great to work with and was extra helpful the day of the wedding doing anything we needed. We got so many compliments on the beauty of the space. Highly recommend!
Jenifer Rohrer: Beautiful place
Jessica Husted: Absolutely beautiful reception venue! Loved working with Dom and Tyler to plan our wedding reception. They opened their doors when we ran into a couple COVID bumps and I could not be more thankful things worked out the way they did! Dom and Tyler went above and beyond to ensure our wedding party and guests had a top notch, memorable experience! Would highly recommend The Grand Hall fo any couple!

LaToya Garcia: Terrible experience at this hotel and pool! My daughters were assaulted by a group including a male physically pushing my daughter. The management DID NOT handle it properly! They did NOT call the police on the aggressors AND they put my girls in a back room as the aggressors continued to yell racial slurs at my kids. They told the aggressors to leave but before they left the management allowed them to VIDEO my girls while they laid out by the pool. Our girls called the police NOT the hotel management or staff! When I arrived the male manager had a smirk on his face the whole time and wouldn’t give me his card or name/info instead he told another employee to get her card, he was completely useless. This hotel is not safe for young women!

He drove us places, was very friendly, gave us great suggestions on restaurants in the area, and even helped us carry our luggage down from the room. We were on a mother- daughter get away. Lakota made sure we were taken care of and he was very professional at all times.Rooms: Great room!
mswenna74: When I first walked in I was pleased with the environment, however I was taken when I entered the pool area, being the only black female other than a few employees. And noticed silence as I entered and walk to be seated, feeling should I go or I stay but then I decided to adjust to an environment that first seemed, public or invite only if you no what I mean, the salad and wine was great would I go back yes I would, why cause this is AMERICA and we are ONE,Food & drinks: Great
Isabelle Myzer: I didn't rent a room, so I can't really say how the rooms were. However I did dine at the 9210 and the service was AMAZING! Our waitress Nikki was incredibly nice and funny! Jimmy Shelton: Overall, it was a great experience, rooms are clean beds comfortable. The only thing that was disappointing was the restaurant. the wait staff at the bar were not very attentive. We had to go out of our way to get their attention, overall not great at the bar and restaurant, lobby staff while checking in were great. The coffee bar in the morning is cool but not complementar, we ate breakfast elsewhere.
Rachel Jackson: Pros:- nice lobby area and outdoor seating area- very polite and friendly staff who were attentive to our needs- location is convenient if you plan to go the country club plazaCons:- the lampshade on the main lamp in our room was obviously broken and kept falling off the stand- the entire place feels dirty; the hallway and room carpets were visibly dirty and stained- the fitness center has very limited equipment and was missing many of the items featured in the photos- there were no USB ports for charging items; the iHome provided was very outdated and broken- some of the outlets in our room would not hold the electric plug and were not functional- the rainfall shower was barely dripping and had horrible water pressure- we tried to use the rooftop pool but it was very crowded; the pool area is very small and they allow non-hotel guests to use it so there is limited room for hotel guests- I was supposed to receive my receipt via email but it never arrivedThe entire place needs to be updated to current technology and functioning. It feels like a hotel with amenities from 2010. The staff were the only saving grace.
Brooke Sanders: Rooms: We arrived at 6 pm and found the carpet wet in our room. GROSS / is it a leak ? Is it sewage ? We were assured it would be taken care of - 3 hours later - nothing ! And the front desk told us to go find Cassie at the bar ! She told us she didn’t have time to check her email bc she has a luau going on? And told me to stop talking . Worst customer service ever .
Mason (cmd-space): Keito and the rest of the team were great!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Ashley Millang: Over the top customer service! All employees were friendly and went above and beyond to ensure a great stay.Walkability: Right on the plaza- great location!
Arnetia Nelson: Great location and the staff is great and friendly. Room wasDirty, carpet in the room in front of the bed was nasty, the lamps were malfunctioning flickering off and on I’m assuming that’s why they were unplugged. Booked room for two guest only one set of towels were in the room.Hallway floors were filthy. Definitely not a 5 star hotel.

The Kansas City Room at 28 Event Space: what do users think?
Brent Lager: My new wife and I simply can not say enough amazing things about Mackenzie, Taylor and the entire staff at 28 Event Space. We had a big wedding (near 250) and they made it so easy and stress free for us. They were flexible, honest and just gave off the best energy throughout the entire process. From the day we toured to the moment we left the day after the wedding, they were great to us. And the space is absolutely perfect for every phase of the wedding experience. We'd absolutely love it, and would recommend them for whatever your needs are. Great people, great place, great experience!
FUTURE T WOOTEN: Very nice place to rent to use for an event! We had our Elite Superfans event there during the 2023 nfl draft in Kansas City
David M White: Great Draft Party! So much fun! Just watching all the different attired people.
Lyndsee Johnson: I toured 6 venues and could not find a better event space in the KC metro than 28 Event Space. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and extremely easy to work with. I think I asked them hundreds of questions leading up to our big day, to which they were immediately responsive, attentive, and extremely helpful. The bartenders included in our package were awesome and went above and beyond as they were willing to make all of our old fashioned's for our signature drink for our pup ("Otis Fashioned")! The Station was everything we had wished and hoped for - I would recommend to any couple looking for a place for their dream wedding! :)
Miguel ramirez: Maravilloso elegante comodo
Hunee Cwms-Graham: Beautiful! An good place to hold a wedding or any event where spending the night and showing and changing clothes is necessary
She Walker: Beautiful venue. Nice place to host any event. Food was... ok
Kelly Colston: Everything was SO perfect! Everyone was very helpful and helped make the wedding go off without a hitch! Thank you!
Jenn Burke: Great place for special events!
Andie Stitt: Absolutely the best place! We had the best wedding. The staff was awesome and so organized. I couldn’t have asked for it to be perfect. The best venue!
Kevin Glannon: A lovely place to host an event. Fun decor good space. Knocking off a star for tiny restrooms.
Jennifer Brunk: This space is very versatile and perfect for a wedding venue.
Jessie Ridenour: Great place for a wedding reception
Rose Mattingly: I got to be witness to my best friend getting hitched in this gorgeous event space. This was most definitely the BEST WEDDING I have ever been to. Hands down! It was probably the blending of these beautiful eclectic families that made it so, but the space was perfect to host such a brilliant array of beauty and love. I am so glad I got to spend so much time in here and it doubles as an Airbnb space which was absolutely amazing for the after party and the preparations for before the ceremony! Highly recommend this to any Kansas City brides to be!!!!
Alexis Nibert: I work a LOT with this venue and I can't say one negative attribute the venue or ownership has. From the first inquiry call, couples are treated like family. As a wedding planner, I can't express how important it is to work with a venue that understands the industry and wants the best for their couples. When you can trust your venue to execute your day effortlessly, you've found the right venue for you!Not to mention, this also makes it very easy for wedding vendors to work here because of the hospitality all of their employees show.I get excited every weekend I get to work here with this team!
Kim Philip: This was the absolute BEST RECEPTION SITE we could have ever imagined! It worked for every member of our family! The staff was awesome, especially the three bartenders we had, and the back rooms and bedrooms were perfect for elderly family members to relax in during the reception and for the wedding party to prep in before and after the ceremony. It was just the most perfect venue for us!!! We loved it!!!
Heather Szumierz: Venue was over all perfectly put together inside and out!
Leah Berg: I think 28 Event Space is the best value venue in downtown KC. I did extensive research on venues in downtown KC for my wedding, and no one could compete with 28 Event Space’s price for everything that is included. A few of the main selling points for me were that our rental included a DJ, party bus, bride/groom getting ready suite, overnight access, use of your own vendors, and the ability to bring your own alcohol. They are the only venue in downtown KC (to my knowledge) to offer all of this, and at an incredibly fair price. In addition to all of this, the venue itself is absolutely stunning. We went with The Station which has an elegant marble backdrop as the centerpiece of the room. Everything is so updated and modern, which is exactly what we were looking for in a venue. The managers Mackenzie and Taylor are also incredibly responsive which is a must for wedding planning. They gave me a number to text with any questions and they almost always responded within ours. We mainly worked with Taylor, and she was so flexible with all of our requests. I can’t recommend 28 Event Space enough.
Lawrence Leek: Was a groomsman for my sister's wedding. You beautiful facility, everything was laid out in a function functional manner, DJ and staff were fun, professional, and engaging
Abe Zabih: Good wedding venue
Nicolas Bradley: Incredible venue. Amazing bride and groom suites. This place has it all

The Westin Kansas City at Crown Center: what do users think?
Kaylynn Mesher: This place was beyond my expectations. The Skywalk was convenient. The War exhibit was worth the walk up the stairs. (Found the elevator after my co driver and I made the walk to the top. ) the mall in the hotel is perfect for a stroll. A Starbucks and the water fall in the lobby area is a nice place to just sit a relaxRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury, Great view, Quiet …More

Kenneth Zhang: This place still auto charges you for internet… what’s up with that? Also since I’m using marriott points there is a crazy “redemption fee” of $52, never heard of that one beforeRooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More
Whitney Smith: This is a nice hotel in the heart of KC. Great location for what we needed (attending Boulevardia). Check in took quite a while, and they weren’t sure if our room had a Murphy bed or not. It didn’t, and when we went back to the check in to get a different room, the line was even longer. So, we requested a roll-away bed that was delivered promptly. The phone in the room had been left off the charger, so we weren’t able to call the front desk to request new towels and had to walk back downstairs. It did work once it had charged, though. The main issue was the cockroach that came scuttling across the bathroom the next morning, so I sure hope I didn’t bring any home in my suitcase.
stephanie Anderson: This hotel is in a very central location. We had a very late check in and unfortunately we had some issues with our room. Tammy was amazing and not only found us another room, she kindly upgraded us. What a nice surprise. It really meant a lot to this tired mama. Thanks for a great stay.Walkability: Across the street from the union station, WWI museum, and the cable car. Attached to a mall with shops and food choices.
Luke Freeman: Nice Westin in downtown Kansas City. Easy to access, amble parking, hood rooms and accommodations and helpful staff.Hotel is connected to the Crown Center which provides ample shops and stores that make the stay more inviting and friendly.Easy access to sites adjacent to the area.

Jean Michael: Have stayed here for years.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Gary Ma: Beautiful forested upper lobby. Rooms, however, seems old and a bit worn out. There must be nicer rooms somewhere in the hotel because celebrities such as Finn Wolfhard were staying there when I was there.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Jonathan Westerdale: We stayed for two nights and were splurging because we don’t get out of town for pleasure very often and Westin has a great reputation. Overall, I was far from impressed for what is supposed to be a 4-star hotel, I travel a lot for work and I’ve stayed in far nicer 3-star hotels. The amenities that put it over the edge to get to 4 stars (I assume) are the pool, nice lobby area, location, and gym. However, everythingthat actually matters like cleanliness, room design, shower water pressure, the mattress, parking, customer service, and even air conditioning control leave a lot to be desired. In our room were dirty towels and, honestly, few towels. Our counter was dirty and the shower had hair in it. In the bathroom also, the shower design is so odd, not really allowing for full water pressure from either shower head. The windows do not open and I thought there was a balcony, but there’s just a strange railing outside the window for some reason. I’m willing to forgive the bed, but for the price of the hotel (not even including the $25/day parking), I was expecting more. Again, this is supposed to be 4 stars in the center of the city. We woke up sweating bc of the lack of control of the air conditioning control and customer service was not very helpful. On that note, when asked at checkout how our stay was, I stated “fine, but not ideal, if I’m being honest” and the front desk attendant didn’t inquire how to make the stay better for others.I almost forgot to mention the terrible elevator situation. We had to plan out time in our travel time to get down or up the elevator, going down or up could, no joke, be a 10 or 15 minute affair. There weren’t any roaches or anything outrageous, but for the money paid and Westin’s reputation, I’d rather find a boutique hotel or something along those lines that might be closer to the things we actually wanted to see.
Zach Tetuan: Absolutely garbage hotel. I pre-booked the room through a 3rd party site that I use for all my bookings. When I arrived, just like any hotel, I swiped my credit card for incidentals. They proceeded to charge my credit card 4 separate times for a total of $500. For what? I have no idea. I called the front desk and they were no help saying the charges were a mistake but I needed to talk to my credit card company to fix them. So I called and had the charged disputed. It was removed for a month only to be put back on after the hotel apparently responded back to the credit card company saying services were rendered for the charge. They most definitely were not. I pre-paid for the room and paid separately for parking. There was no reason to be charged the additional $500. Now I am in the painful process of responding back and forth with my credit card company. So if you value your money, look elsewhere for a hotel.
