Brent Miller: 5 star quality sushi!! We went at 8pm on a Friday and had no problem getting a table.I especially enjoyed the Spicy Cajun Roll.The crab rangoons are excellent.My favorite dish was the vegetable tempura. So crispy and flavorful. Mmmmm!!!Parking can be a bit tricky, so just park at the Trolley Track Trail and walk over.

We ordered 2 chef sushi choic combos and a couple rolls. It was the best sushi I've had in years. The shashimi was generous sized and melted in our mouths.I can't wait to enjoy their sushi again 😋

Andrea Garcia: Best sushi in KC. It is a legacy restaurant that used to be in Crown Center when I was a child. It’s a tucked away no frills sushi den. The fish is fresh and artfully prepared. Joshua Eaton: My father used to frequent Kabuki in Crown Center when I was a kid. I remember the kimonos and the horigotatsu tables that have a recess in the floor. The sushi would come out on wooden boats if you ordered a decent amount. I recently went to the new spot in Brookside for dinner with my wife and son.We started with an order of Edamame and the Green Lip Mussel appetizer they were featuring which was served hot and had a spicy mayo based sauce on top. Miso soup was great, had a salad also. Ordered Tempura Shrimp Roll, Salmon Nigiri, and Sushi Ume, chef's choice. Impressed with the size of cuts on the salmon. Plenty of food for 3 and came on the wooden boat. Great presentation with banana leaves and fresh orchid. I think I'm right that the sushi chef is the original owner's son, so there's some provenance here. I don't review much, but this was worth a review and pictures. Will be back.

The space is intimate yet spacious, homey and elegant all at once. 80s classics played as we enjoyed our miso soup, which, by the way, was delicious. The service was prompt, friendly, and professional. You want sushi that will leave your tummy and your wallet satisfied? Visit Kabuki and thank me later.
Nic Johnson: We have visited Kabuki Sushi and hands down it has been my favorite place to get Sushi in KC!! It is cozy, quaint, and quiet. Service is friendly and prompt, and most importantly the sushi is DELICIOUS!! They have many options so there is something for everyone, and it's very fairly priced! Definitely one of our staple date-night spots.

Mihaela Evans: Wonderful rolls!! Got the lunch special for $13.95 and was able to get 3 nice size rolls to fill me up. The bagel roll was really delicious! It was salmon and cream cheese with a nice crispy deep fried tempura. My wife got the Rincon roll and she loved it also. Our house salads were a nice additional touch to the meal and the ginger dressing was on point. Great music to vibe with, friendly staff and overall knowledgeable about the menu. I would definitely return back for more. 👍🏻🔥💯🍣❤

I also had the sake, which was smooth and flavorful. The service was excellent. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, and she made sure that we had everything we needed. Sara - A Flavor Journal: Sushi Haru is easily the best sushi in South KC. The sushi is always incredibly fresh, the other food options are consistently delicious, and service is friendly. I've ordered delivery from them a few times as well, and their attention to detail when packaging to-go food is impeccable. Everything I order is consistently made exactly as expected, thoughtfully crafted, and packaged with the intention to please the recipient. I've never gone without chopsticks, soy sauce, or any other item that may be needed, as well (even when you don't ask for any, they have your back). I can't say enough good things about dining and ordering delivery from this restaurant. If you're looking for great sushi out this way, you have to visit Sushi Haru!

The food is so amazing, and I got a whole mini buffet for me and my boyfriend and it was only 100 bucks and we’re gonna have leftovers for days. Arrived super fast and it’s the best sushi I’ve had out of any place I’ve been to. Jim B: 4/26/2023 was my first visit to Sushi Haru. My first thoughts when walking in were, wow this place looks nice, clean, and well decorated. The place was larger than I thought with table choices for 2, 4, 6, or extra large booths that might seat 8 people.The crab Rangoon appetizer was perfect and the 6 crab Rangoon were at least 60% larger than I am used to seeing. Our Sushi rolls arrived about the same time we finished the appetizer. The rolls were excellent. I was surprised that they were warm and lightly fried with a delicate crisp crust on the out side. The texture and flavor were both perfect. I will be back for more very soon. I want to try all of the many roll options that they offer. In my opinion, the prices were very reasonable and a little cheaper than another place where I had Sushi a few days before I dined here.Check out their menu. They have a lot of dishes, huge Sushi roll selection, and group options.Parking: Plenty of parking with handicap and a few regular parking spaces close to the entrance.

He got the teriyaki chicken bento, which came with very generous portions of rice, salad, veggie tempura and chicken and a very good miso soup. I got the two sushi roll lunch special, and while both rolls I got were good, I preferred the spicy tuna roll to the crab roll.We were seated right away and our table was nicely shaded even though we were buy the window. A great sushi lunch!

Spicy Tuna Maki Roll delicious. Steamed dumplings rocked! Edamame very good. My teriyaki Chicken with vegetables and fried rice outstanding. Plus a side salad and Miso soup. Loved it and will recommend to anyone.

Robert Keough: Update 3/31/23. Yep. Still best in KC. Still no natto but maybe some day. No natto in any sushi joint I've found so far in town. Fried gyoza dumplings are nearly as good as my former mother in law used to make. To be fair, nobody's as good.I've tried all the sushi joints in this area and in my opinion this place is the best hands down. Sushi always tastes fresh. Even when we're eating at the hibachi tables, I always have to have a little sushi too. Gets pretty busy on weekends especially. Further evidence of the quality of this restaurant. So call ahead reservations are highly recommended.All the folks there are friendly and make you feel welcome. Especially Kim and Jay. They take pride in what they do and always welcome you with a smile.You can also have the same meals they prepare at the hibachi brought to you at a table if you want to have a more intimate dining experience. Just as tasty but you don't get to catch shrimp in your mouth.Try the fried dumplings. Just as good as my ex mother in law's Japanese gyoza.The only thing they don't have is natto - Japanese fermented soy beans. But then, I've yet to find a Japanese steakhouse that offers it.

Andy Brown: Wow! Can’t say enough about Blue Sushi. My go-to for happy hour, lunch, dinner, or any occasion. Food is amazing (try the cherry bombs!) and even with my shellfish allergy I’ve found plenty of items I can eat and enjoy (sans Epipen)! If you haven’t had the pleasure, Jan (the “Janager”) is the nicest, most generous, and best leader of her staff when I see her running all around the bar, kitchen and floor. I got sushi both times and loved it, and I drank a scorpion the second time and it was lovely. The first time we got the appetizer that is pork on a stick (I can't remember what it's called); it had a sweet taste that worked really well for it. Jenifer Calandra: We ordered two bento box dinners for take out, and both our selections were delicious! The Katsu chicken was crispy and flavorful, and the sushi was clearly prepared by someone with incredible knife skills. The sushi fish was fresh and didn’t smell fishy and old like it does at some other local establishments. The bento boxes also came with miso soup, salad, and two crab rangoons, all of which was also fresh and tasty. Even the rice side was fluffy and good! Will definitely be ordering from here again!
Laurel Jensen: My husband and I ordered several rolls of sushi for take-out. We were disappointed by the size of the rolls compared with how much we paid ($40). We classed it up at home using some of our own fun dishes.We might try one of their soups sometime while dining in—my husband saw a couple eating soup at a table while he was waiting for our food; the quality and amount looked much better for the price. Not satisfied with our experience here yet, but I will update the review if we try it again and enjoy a better experience.

Bianca Rooker: You can get Anything on their menu and you can’t go wrong. Liberty masabi is pretty close to home so we try to support them often it’s just a HUGE bonus that their food is amazing. We’ve been trying a new appetizer every time and again havent been disappointed once. The jalapeño tempura though is delicious!! I always get their sushi and haven’t had a bad roll, my husband gets the hibachi with friend rice and when I tell you the fried rice is different than any fried rice I’ve ever tried. It’s to die for. If you’re wondering if you should go eat here. You definitely should. Go in & dine. You won’t be mad and you’ll leave full!
