Blue Sky Fertility: what do users think?
Connor Mesey: What can I say? I love coming here!
Sadie Poe: I found Dr. Riggs well before Blue Sky. It was 2010 and I needed a fibroid removed. He was the surgeon and was amazing. Never before have I had a doctor answer questions and sit in the consultation room like he had all day to discuss our options. He also helped me with getting pregnant in 2012. When I was ready to try for another baby in 2016 he was no longer in the area and I had to see someone else. That was a terrible experience. that doctor treated me like a number. I remember wishing Dr. Riggs was still in the area. When I heard he came back I was elated. It was too late for me, but to be able to refer other people to him was exciting. I do not have enough good things to say about him. Even though I've never been to Blue Sky, I'm sure his staff is amazing, too! He will always be in my heart and a close part of our family because he made my family.
Rebecca Clark (Becca): A complete success with in one year of our first meeting Dr Riggs and the staff. They are very friendly. Dr Riggs has great bedside manner. Every one from the front desk to the nurses are polite and kind. We were blessed with twins.
Erica: I am from Wichita and after having problems and disagreements with the 1 clinic here, we decided to check our options elsewhere I did a lot of research for a Dr. Who would care. We looked around KC, OKC, and Tulsa. We ended with our choice at Blue Sky .We've been going through our fertility treatments. I must say again. The staff and Dr. Riggs himself are absolutely amazing. Every visit, every staff member is so friendly and always greet you with a smile. Even if you're having a bad day or don't get the best results of what you're hoping for. They go over and beyond to help you feel comfortable and welcomed. They talk you through all the results and will explain anything you need. The below is in regards to sema 4, not the clinic itself.Little update had the sema 4 test done as they suggested. Know up front This is not chromosome testing but tests for different genetics . they say the consult will go over all results and answer all questions. But this is false. Our person over the phone would not explain in depth. Luckily I had googled what our result meant beforehand or else we would have walked away more confused. And they tell you to meet an actual genetic counselor to go over results. If you wish to have genetic screening done, justbdo your research to make a choice. Find an actual genetic dr and get their opinions
Ain't No Half Steppin: Dr. Riggs and his staff are amazing to work with. They are always welcoming and concerned about their patient's best interest. Thank you for your diligent disposition an work.
j mac: Dr. Riggs and his staff were amazing ! Infertility is a difficult and emotional journey, at Blue Sky they treat you as a person, and not another number. His medical knowledge and ability is also top notch, I never doubted him and his team throughout the process and it definitely paid off!
Katherine Gard: My husband and I have been working with Blue Sky since March of this past year. I can not say enough good things about Dr. Riggs and his team. We just finished our egg retrieval last week so we are not pregnant yet but I have full confidence they will be able to help us grow our family. Dr. Riggs even took our call at 6:30 am when we had questions on our first days of STIMS. For any one in the Kansas City are that is looking for a fertility clinic, Blue Sky is the absolute best! They will know you by name and treat you so well.
Carrie S: I have limited interaction with Blue Sky, I was tested to be a donor to a family member and Blue Sky diagnosed me with POF so I was not a candidate. As shocking and emotional as that was, I have to say Blue Sky was fantastic with the news, and giving me advice on what is now my journey to preserve chances for a family. I've now educated myself and the reviews of many fertility clinics include price gouging, misleading people, hidden costs, poor communication, and unnecessary expensive testing. I don't feel like Blue Sky has been anything like that. They have so far been very transparent with costs, tests, and possibilities. Communication has been prompt, appointments quick and as long as they need to be. I felt respect and no rushing, honesty and clarity. I can't state enough how much faith I have that Blue Sky is the right place.
Kristen Self: I would like to start by saying that I have been to another fertility specialist in the KC Metropolitan area and did not have any confidence in them, so I started shopping for a new Doctor. I have never, I repeat ever, had a male doctor in my lifetime. I was even delivered by a woman. It's always been a preference of mine. However, after my experience at this other place and after reading about Dr. Riggs and his success rates I thought I would give it a try. Here is what I have experienced:Misha, the woman who runs the show from the front desk will take your calls so fast and get your life figured out for you if you need her to. She is efficient, calm, kind, and has a really spectacular wit about her that i find refreshing. And that is just over the phone. When you go in to the clinic you're feeling so many things ranging from nervous to excited and she welcomes you so warmly you will feel at ease. (I just hope I spelled her name right.)Ashley takes care of billing. I'm telling you right now, this girl will be your soldier. She will battle your insurance company and make sure things get processed correctly. And in that awful circumstance that your insurance company starts acting shifty she will go at them again and again until they get it right for you. She has an amazing energy and a friendly disposition. To all of you who are not fortunate enough to have insurance that will cover at least some of this burden for you, talk with her. She will be honest with billing and help you decide what's right for you.Jennifer is honestly one of the sweetest medical professionals I have ever been honored to have ultrasound me and inseminate me (for real though she's so great). She finds cute little ways to make things less awkward if you need her to and she tells great anecdotes and will make sure you're comfortable and know everything that's about to go down. She makes sure you're not in pain and is willing to listen and talk with you if you need to ask questions.Dr Riggs, the first man I have ever accepted as my doctor. What a kind and warm professional. He sat down and consulted with my husband and I not once, but twice. There's this stereotype of the busy doctor who is too good to bother with their patients. He is not that guy. He will take as long as you need to make sure you are informed and feel in control. I've rarely liked a doctor as I like Dr. Riggs. He makes everything so easy and normal and takes the awkward right out of it. His jokes are actually pretty funny too. There are so many more staff that I've met at Blue Sky Fertility that I don't have the names for but they are all amazing, kind, professional yet human. I want to thank them all from the bottom of my heart for helping me through what has been such a hard process in my life. For the record, this is coming from a woman who is not pregnant yet, so please take this rave review even more seriously. I'm not a deliriously happy success case, but I will be. I just know it.Buy these people cookies by the way, they deserve so much more.
Shelby Mall: This is hands down the BEST Dr's office I have ever been to! The Nurses are incredible and Dr. Riggs is wonderful! I don't feel like just another patient when I walk in. I feel like they genuinely care about things. I seriously can not say enough wonderful things about Dr. Riggs and his staff!

Reproductive Resource Center: what do users think?
Kendra Bollinger: My experience here was awful. We never even met the doctor. We sat there for hours to be told that what we did for our living child was pointless and "low tech". I am fed up with reproductive doctors and just wanted a second opinion on our situation. Instead we got shown a powerpoint that tried to sell us IVF. When we asked questions about the other options we were just told that it wouldn't be worth it. I think what really set me over the edge and to write this review is the fact that I got charged $100 for going 15 minutes over our appointment time. We were there extremely early, so it has nothing to do with that. The only reason we went over is because we sat in an office where someone went over how much IVF would be and then tried to get us to sign up for it on the spot. It was disrespectful and felt dirty. No one cared about our already depressing situation.Bottom line is, they don't care about your situation they just care about the money. Reproduction is BIG money. Its gross.
Jennifer Scott: I’m honestly surprised at some of the negative reviews I am seeing. I’ve been going through treatment with rrc, after they were the number one place recommended by my Obgyn.I have had absolutely no issues with communication or billing to date, like some of these reviews. To be honest, they were extremely straight forward about the costs from the very first appt. The reality is that infertility treatment is expensive. That’s not a secret and as frustrating as that fact is, it’s not something in my experience that RRC has tried to hide. And just like in any medical field, sometimes additional fees may arise.I have had a smooth process through my entire treatment so far and have nothing but good things to say about everyone I have had contact with.I can only imagine how difficult of a field this is to be working in. We all want to grow a family and have strong emotions and feelings surrounding that desire. I think the staff handles all that they have to deal with as smoothly as possible, while providing realistic expectations (good and bad) of what the outlook is.I highly recommend them for anyone going through the ivf process and am grateful for all they do.
Jessica Walker: I'll start by saying I now have a healthy one year old from this clinic, so I'm very thankful for the science - but I've found it could have been a lot less stressful elsewhere. I had to switch clinics because my insurance will only cover treatment from a "Center of Excellence," and I was informed RRC did not meet those expectations this year. I was dreading the switch because trying to get anything accomplished at RRC is a hassle - no one is on the same page, different staff will tell you different things, and there are always caveats. Nothing is easy at this clinic - from making appointments, to never-ending fees, to the god-awful portal you have to use for everything. As miscommunication issues came up throughout treatment, no one was ever accountable. No one ever apologizes. That would have gone a long way. From a clinical standpoint, most of the staff seems really hesitant to give straightforward answers to questions and concerns. It's as if they've been told: "say as little as possible in case we get sued." I've only had a few visits at my new clinic in Olathe and I can't believe how much more easy-going and efficient it is. I wish I would have started there.
Allyson Lawson: Acknowledging that fertility issues are very emotionally charged, and we didn’t have the outcome we wanted, I waited to give an objective review about my experience as a patient and the person coordinating care, insurance and payments for treatment.I quit coming to RRC and have spoken with friends about their experiences with other fertility clinics in the KC area (Blue Sky in Lees Summit, for one) and I think people need to seriously consider other clinics before spending their precious time and money at RRC.My biggest frustrations were the front desk, specifically Heather, their poorly functioning app, poor communication and lack of service. I also had a bad patient experience on my fourth round of IUI when the ultrasound person came in and cheerfully asked “so you’re doing your first round of IUI?” Not a deal breaker in terms of returning but it was discouraging. The front desk was typically an awkward and frustrating experience. I would ask questions about the long list of forms and “homework” I was responsible for and they made me feel dumb and like an inconvenience. The app they direct you to use was never accurate in terms of which forms, results or billing notices I was managing. On top of that, the prescriptions I needed were not called in each round. Apparently they call in a standing prescription and then it was on me to call the pharmacies and coordinate. This meant one round of a time sensitive injection wasn’t going to be able to ship in time and I had to go to a specialty pharmacy in the metro and pay roughly three times the amount to get it same day. After four unsuccessful rounds of IUI, I knew I wasn’t going back because they’re awful to work with from the admin side. I never got a follow up call to see how the treatment went or to schedule next steps. I never heard from them until a month later when they sent me a bill because our insurance denied a claim (we had a job change and therefore new insurance). Typically, providers would call and ask for updated insurance. From what my friend has said, Blue Sky has a dedicated insurance facilitator, they schedule your appointments and manage your prescriptions better, they know your name and follow up to help you decide next steps. For something as emotionally/time/financially sensitive as this, you deserve to use a clinic that cares and has good tools and processes in place to make the experience less stressful.
Jazmine Spencer: Great experience with dr brabec! My last two baby wouldn’t be here without her and I wouldn’t be pregnant now! Highly recommend
Lili Hernandez: I am 34-year-old and i was diagnosed with endometriosis at 24 yrs. old i have been trying to get pregnant for 7 years, I was very careful when I decided to choose RRC i read all reviews for a couple's clinics before taking a decision, so finally I made the appointment and wait 4 months for the preliminary visit with Dr. Brabec, so they ad ultrasound and send to do several tests and then she found a cist and fallopian tube closed so she said we need to fix this issues before IVF so due that my endometriosis had increased to stage 4 I had a laparoscopy surgery with Dr. Swan so them to remove the cist and fix my tube and clean endometriosis has 5 months and i am waiting for the second appointment to go through IVF with Dr. Brabec, at first appointment Dr. Brabec answered all my questions and she explain detailed how the process will be and had very nice experience with the staff.
Abby Lloyd: Like a previous poster, I have thought long and hard about whether to post a public review of RRC. My wife and I have been to multiple fertility clinics (because of relocating to different states) and have never seen medical billing done in such a deceptive manner. Reading some of the other reviews it appears to be a pattern. They make less from insured patients than cash patients, so they are reluctant to run bills against insurance. On certain occasions, we had to ask multiple times to get them to run insurance. Additionally, every month we were having to ask the front staff to not bill us for extra ultrasounds that we did not want and they were not doing. This clinic was much more expensive than our previous experience at the Texas Fertility Clinic, and the attention to the specifics of our case was subpar to nonexistent. I know it seems like there are limited options to receiving family-building care. However, I would urge you to look elsewhere. For example, there is a midwife that does IUI in Lawrence, KS, and they travel to the metro for clients. Sometimes it is difficult to find, but other options do exist. We went to RRC because we thought there were very few alternatives, but in retrospect I would rather travel to another state to see a different provider than use RRC again.
Josh Jamett: Beware Husbands when going here. Once step foot in here the husband is an outsider. My wife and i come here for treatment. Was told multiple times they couldn't tell me anything because i wasnt the patient. The couple is the patient. I have never felt so useless in my life. Husbands are just a check book to this place. Not to mention you cant get ahold of anyone. The doctor was very rude with clearly no people skills which is baffling due to this being one of the most stressful times to a coupleUPDATE 7/29/22Still no reach out or even comment from RRC. More proof the dont care about the patients. We have since switched clinics and have been amazed at the difference. We were even told we were put through a ton of unnecessary and expensive testing/medications. BE AWARE!
Kelsey Terpening: I didn’t even make it back to the doctor because the front desk staff was extremely rude and disrespectful from the moment I walked in. I made my appointment 6 months ago and was given a price over the phone and via email, who I could bring with me, and what to expect. When I arrived at the office I was told they might not be able to see me because I did not call them back to confirm. However if I don’t show up they charge me a cancellation fee. She hands me paperwork I have already filled out and sent back via email. And I comply because I would like to see the doctor. I was shamed and talked down to because my spouse could not make it and my best friend came instead. When I brought my paperwork back to the front desk she said we are still checking to see if we can even see you today. After I go sit back down another front desk lady comes to tell me it was going to cost 4 times the amount I was quoted over the phone and via email. AFTER they have told me I probably can not be seen today. I looked at her frustrated by the situation and said no. She told me she would have to charge me a cancellation fee anyway. She would not let me leave the office until I paid the cancellation fee. I called the office two hours later to talk to their office manager and the front desk would not send me to their voicemail and said they would take a message and they never called me back. It’s been over 7 days now. Going into an office like this is a extremely uncomfortable and frightening anyway without the extra disrespect you receive from the front desk. If you allow your front desk staff to act this way, what’s to say the doctor is any better? I have never been treated so poorly at a doctors office in my entire life. 0/10 would NOT recommend.
Morgan Weber: I've been a patient at RRC since 2015. I have two beautiful children as a direct result of their care and expertise. They set clear and concise expectations from the beginning, and rooted for us every step of the way. The nurses and staff are genuine and caring and I've been treated with nothing but kindness, respect, and empathy during some of the most difficult years of our lives. Infertility is a merciless experience but I cannot thank RRC enough for giving us the gift of family.
yang christina: I paid about $600 for the first appointment and I can only see a nurse. She told me my chance of getting natural birth is 1%. 2 months later I talked to my OB, she said it is very low and unprofessional to say anything like that. I was depressed for a while because of what the nurse said. This place IS TERRIBLE.
mei xian Chen: The doctor is Unprofessional and carelessness. I confirmed with the receptionist before the consultation that they do gender selection, then doctor told me they dont do gender selection, wasted my money and time for consultation!! i cant accept the fact that they refused to provide IVF using gestational surrogacy despite i am undergoing medical treatment that might possibly jeopardize the fetus of birth defects or to mother the risk of having diabetes if left untreated for whole pregnancy. Who would want to spend lots of money to do the GS if there is safe option available, I see no hope in this clinic, so discouraged and disappointed!
L A: Disappointing. We have friends that enjoyed their experience but unfortunately we can’t say the same. We felt like they never knew who we were when we came in or properly documented our appointments to better prepare for the next. We expressed our concerns and were met with excuses. They experiences some turn over while we were clients. If you are looking for a caring doctor, Dr. Brabec is not warm and fuzzy. She gave up on us without providing any closure or alternatives. We found a new doctor that is able to perform the procedure she could not. Schedule multiple consults before selecting your doctor!
W G: We had the most unpleasant experience there and really feel obliged to share with those who’s considering getting treatment from this facility. The staff are super cooperative and responsive while we were making the appointment. We really hyped up our hope before we walk in there. However, it’s all downhill from there. Our first consultation section was consisted of endless waiting and the impatient, almost insulting attitude of Dr. Brabec. Later on we were billed for overtime, even though we spent most our time waiting on the doctor. Dr. Brabec had suggested some treatment approaches that are quite different from my current doctor. Since I’m not a medical professional, I won’t elaborate on that.ROUGH is the only word I can think of on how Dr.Barbec operated all my tests.
Kimberly Self: We loved the care we received at RRC. They are very professional and care about their patients. We are so grateful for them and wouldn’t have our little guy if it wasn’t for all their help. They have built an amazing staff who are passionate, caring, and have a heart to help others! We are looking forward to going back for our next embryo transfer!
Chasnie Vinson: RRC has been a huge part of our life for the past 4 or so years. We have had no luck having a successful pregnancy locally and we decided to travel 4 hours (one way) to go to RRC because we were so pleased with our initial appointment. Dr. Brabec is fantastic, straight forward and to the point and was helpful in getting us to where we needed to be to have a successful pregnancy. Their front staff are the sweetest, most genuine people I've ever met and the rest of their staff/nurses/techs are so great. We now have done IVF twice and have two beautiful babies from them. I refer anyone going through infertility to have an appointment with them.
ׄ: Very Friendly kind hearted establishment. Bad tasting yogurt though
Tori Curtis: I loved all of the staff at RRC! The doctors, ultrasound techs, nurses and even the ladies at the front desk are all amazing. I had one IVF cycle and egg retrieval at RRC which resulted in 6 eggs retrieved and two embryos which were transferred fresh and resulted in twin girls! Thanks RRC for making it possible to give my son baby sisters!
Candice Baldwin: We are so grateful for everyone at Reproductive Resource Center. Dr. Brabec and her team are INCREDIBLE! The entire staff is friendly, caring, and brilliant, and we were treated more like family rather than a patient. RRC was encouraging, optimistic, and forthright throughout the entire process. Infertility is most often a time filled with anxiety and despair, but RRC made us hopeful and excited in creating our family, every step of the way. We also LOVED, LOVED, LOVED working with Ashley and JJ! Robin and Wanda are the BEST, and they make the initial process, scheduling, following up with lab results, etc, super easy! They are always so kind and caring!Because of RRC, we have a super healthy, incredible baby boy! I encourage anyone struggling with infertility to reach out to RRC. They are definitely the best!!!
Gisselle Simental: Fantastic place. Very friendly, very helpful, lgbtq friendly. Never made us feel any less than anyone else. Would and have recommend this place!!
Ryan Schooley: From the front desk staff, to the lab technicians to nurses and doctors everyone was fantastic. Over the span of the 8 years we spent with them we received nothing but the best of care. I always felt that they cared about us as individuals, and that our plan was tailored to us and that we were never lost in the shuffle. I can't thank them enough for giving us our 2 miracle babies: one as a spontaneous pregnancy 7 years ago (go figure) and our most recent one as a embryo frozen for 6 years. This place is top notch and I'd recommend them to anyone!

University of Kansas Physicians Advanced Reproductive Medicine: what do users think?
Allison Papinsick: Cannot speak highly enough about KU. The nurses have been so supportive and responsive and are always willing to answer any questions. The financial staff was helpful in figuring out the billing/insurance issues as it can be quite complicated. Dr. Lydic is not only incredibly competent physician but genuinely a kind and empathetic person. He called me at 7pm on a Saturday night when my genetic testing results came in-something I never would’ve expected but will be eternally grateful for. Dr. Holoch did my retrieval and was very personable and explained everything well and made me feel comfortable. Cannot recommend KU enough.
Kristen: The care that I have received has been disappointing to say the least. I work in healthcare, and I have a definite advantage over others with navigating the healthcare field, administering my own medications, and generally understanding the process and what to expect. However, at KU’s clinic, it is actually impossible to reach someone over the phone, even with a time sensitive issue during business hours. If you call the main number, it’s a phone tree nightmare and when you finally get through you’re directed to use the patient portal to message the nurse. A response often takes a couple hours, and often complex problems just need an actual person to person conversation. I have found the front desk staff at their office to be generally unhelpful, and at times unfriendly. The IVF process includes lots of time sensitive medication administration, and there were often miscommunications about meds, how much to take, and how to administer them. They sent my medications to the wrong pharmacy multiple times, which made me have to drive around the KC metro area like a madwoman before the pharmacy closed to get meds that I had to administer that night. Their whole practice makes an already stressful/ emotional/ complex situation completely NIGHTMARISH. I changed to Blue Sky fertility, and it is a night and day difference. I have found that they do cost slightly more, but in my opinion is well worth it. Save yourself the trouble and do NOT go to KU.
Jasmine Desiree: Dr.Marsh took good care of my husband and I. She was very thorough and made sure we understood the process. Our baby girl is 8 months old. We’re forever grateful for the University of Kansas Reproductive Endocrinology.
Charity Wanjiku: Dr. Lydic is the best doctor ever! He understands what it’s like to struggle with infertility and I felt heard throughout the journey which included a loss and a success. I wasn’t just a number to him. I loved the care I received as well as the results. You have a great team and I now have a beautiful baby. I can’t thank you enough. Thank you Dr. Lydic!
Kaitlin Crowell: Honestly a terrible experience. Dr. Marsh was very dry and not personable. After telling her about my situation which was recurrent pregnancy loss she kept going on and on about a clinical trial she was doing and did I want to be a part of it. The appointment was more about her clinical trial than it was about me and what she could do to help me. I never went back after that first appointment.
Canela: Entire process was terrible! Do yourself a favor and wait the extra time to go to any other fertility clinic to be treated as a unique individual and have your questions answered genuinely, effectively and timely.
Rad Rad: Worst billing department ever and communication is really bad. They keep sending me a bill that which I already has paid and they don’t even know what they are doing.
Dima Soultan: The whole clinic is amazing ; providors, nurses , techs, pharmacist, and coordinators . We love Dr. Lydic who treated me. He is knowledgeable and patient.
Aly Schmidt: In the face of “unexplained infertility”, I looked at multiple practices in the KC for guidance. Ultimately, KU was able to get us in the quickest. My husband works for KU so we both felt confident in the institution. Due to COVID, our initial meeting with the physician was via TH. He had a PowerPoint that seemed generic but provided a baseline understanding of options. I was instructed to come to the clinic for an initial ultrasound and lab work. I completed the US and was waiting to get my labs drawn when I received a notification via the app (the primary way the clinic communicates) that an additional lab was ordered. I asked the sonographer and the lab personal as to why but neither were able to provide insight. I was instructed to message the nurses via the app…I WAS SITTING IN THE CLINIC! I should have known then that communication was going to be a challenge but again, my husband works for KU and we think highly of the institution. After a failed medicated cycle and IUI, I messaged the nurses (messaging the doctor isn’t an option on the app), and asked for insight. The message I received back from the RN was the plan for another IUI cycle. There was no regard for my request, simply a med plan for a second IUI cycle. In reviewing the cycle, there was a med I had never heard of added. Because in the initial meeting (which for the record, was the only time we communicated with the physician in the 3.5 months we utilized the practice), the doctor had never mentioned this med, I sent a message and asked if I could get a call to get clarity. I wanted to understand what the med does, why it was ordered, and any side effects I should be aware of. I am a RN so I didn’t think it was too much to ask to receive basic education regarding a medication. When the RN called, she sounded annoyed. I understand it was a Sunday. I too was on-call for my nursing job so, I understand that it can interfere with one’s personal life but, that comes with being on-call. The nurse did explain what the medication does but when I asked why it was prescribed (did you notice something last cycle that indicated this med should be added or, is it is just the next medication in the toolbox), the nurse responded “it’s just what the doctor ordered.” I understand the essence of unexplained infertility, but I think it is a patients prerogative to understand why, even if the answer is “this is just the next shot in the dark.” I completed the cycle as prescribed and when I went in for IUI, this time a NP did the procedure (the first time, it was done but an RN). While there, I asked the NP if we could ask some questions. She was open to answering my questions and I thanked her saying “the communication hasn’t been the best and I just want to make sure that I understand my plan of care.” She became defensive and told me I should have messaged the nurses if I had questions. I told I did and she immediately said, “it is the volume of patients that we have here….years ago, I did everything from the counseling to the ultrasounds to the labs and now there is a sonographer, a lab tech, the nurses and things fall through the cracks because there are so many patients.” She proceed to tell me that she has “been doing this for a long time” and I, “ just need to trust the process because she is reviewing my records all the time.” Mind you, this encounter was the first time I had ever met, let alone communicated with, the NP. My husband equated the clinic to making us feel like cows being cycled through. That was my last straw. KU may be able to get to you in sooner than other practices in KC but, if you are looking for a fertility practice where you are valued as a patient, where discussion regarding your specific plan of care is ongoing, and where your questions are welcomed, I would encourage you to consider alternative options.
Lisa Mahoney: Dr Holoch has been my wonderful Reproductive Endocrinologist (IVF doc) for years. She has also become a fabulous and faithful friend through out this entire fertility journey. We now have 3 kiddos and would not be here without the help we received from them. She is truly a class act physician and we own her SO MUCH for all her knowledge, time, reassurance, and dedication to her patients and her specialty. Thank you for helping us create our family!
Lara Wisdom: Awful! Didn't file correctly with insurance with DX codes. The billed me $300 and $280 per visit and only were in the room less than 15 minutes or telehealth. Then charge me for their error and I paid almost all but 187 (they are still getting monthly payments from me... but still sent to Consumer Collection management!! Quality group of .......! RUN
Jen Foster: The nursing staff for the IVF retrieval were amazing. That being said, the FET office nurses need re-education on nursing communication and communicating with the physician. I have found that these nurses with Dr Marsh believe that they are the equal to a provider. $17,500 later I have talked to Dr Marsh twice. Baby making “puppy mill” type practice nothing is personalized.
Chaotic Life: Although they might respond yo this review but let me tell you their customer service and communication is zero because you have to send messages in their slow and archaic message portal and wait for someone to respond if they do choose. Billing is unprofessional and will cost you money by not responding to insurance inquiries. You will need to try and call and email several times before anyone respond. The care itself is suboptimal, ridden with mistakes in protocols and "unexpected" (but predictable) events which the patient has to bear through cost and consequences of. I'm not sure if it's because I am a dark skinned woman or they just don't care in general. I have had to reach out to nurses who act as gatekeepers to accessing the doctors but yet they dismiss your suggestions of the so called unexpected events based on your symptoms until it becomes too late that something isn't quite right. I will not be using this facility anymore, once is enough.
Darlene Hennrich: We have used this clinic for fertility treatments with our first born and we are using them again for our second. I highly recommend! Staff is very friendly and answers back quickly.
Celine Hobbs: It was a long road for us, but Dr. Marsh knows what she's doing. Here's my beautiful 6 day PGS tested blast who finally took!
Sara: I am so thankful for this clinic and all of their staff. My husband and I had been trying for several year to have a baby but were unsuccessful. We had our first appointment for our work up and gladly got answers to what our issue was. Dr. Holoch was wonderful and gave us so much hope. She was very upbeat and positive, which is a breath of fresh air when going through something this difficult. Luckily my husband and I were blessed with our miracle baby from the help of KU's team. Dr. Holoch, Dr. Nangia and the nursing staff were all great. I loved the patient portal as it was easy to use and we got responses very quickly. We will be going back for baby number 2! Miracles do happen!
Alexandrea Ndoutoume: We have not completed our cycle yet but I must say they have been really good to work with. Communication is very professional and they have been quick to respond anytime I need them. They are very detailed with instructions, and Dr. Lydic, I can not say enough about him he has really taken time to explain everything. We have been very happy with the multiple doctors we have needed at KU! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
Rachel Mintie: Poor bedside manner. Feel like a cow, just herded in and out for my money. So difficult just to make an appointment. Will be going somewhere else from now on.
Ned Crouton: Terrible communication, impossible to get a phone call answered or returned. They somehow deleted my first appointment and so i had to come back a week later. They tell you a time frame for test results and then you don't hear from them, and you can't get anyone on the phone to ask.
Jamie Y: I’d leave no stars if possible! The lack of concern for their patients is pathetic at best. The timeliness of communication is terrible and only adds stress to a stressful process. The doctor is condescending and obviously annoyed when she has to answer questions. I’ve been forgotten in the waiting room numerous times, had to wait 6 weeks to meet with the doctor the 2nd time after already being an established patient and had them even forget to communicate my instructions for what medication and how much to take this week after leaving 2 messages through their portal before the end of the business day and having to page the doctor twice before she returned my call. I never imagined a place specializing in infertility could be lead by a physician with such poor communication skills, no compassion whatsoever and failure to be detail oriented when handling someone’s last chance to have a family of their own!
John Crocker: Doc Marsh, the nursing staff, and the med students were great. The last one we went to wasn’t nearly as good. Definitely recommended.

Blue Sky Fertility: what do users think?
Canela: I had a God-awful experience while visiting for a vaginal/pelvic ultrasound! The sonographer seemed as if she was driving a stick shift during the vaginal and pressed down so hard on my pelvis during the stomach ultrasound my body was sore for a few days.I complained to her and let her know it didn’t take all that. She was sure of herself and mentioned this wasn’t her first rodeo! I sure hope she hasn’t been treating everyone this way.I’ve had nothing but pleasant experiences at the Lee’s Summit location. But I’ll never go back to the OP for anything else!
Amy Johnston: I can’t express how grateful we are to Blue Sky. Dr. Riggs has cultivated a truly amazing clinic. Everyone is rooting for you, supporting you, and working their hardest to help achieve your family-building goals. We were a hard, unexplained case with many past failures - transfers and miscarriages. Dr. Riggs’s clinic is warm and accepting, while clearly maintaining the highest level of attentiveness to detail. We can’t be grateful enough for Blue Sky’s instrumental help in bringing home our most precious miracle baby girl.
Stephanie: We had a very bad experience, we are immigrants my sister is trying to get birth they do not help her to fill out paperwork. We had an appointment and waited for almost 8 months now they canceled it and rescheduled her for next year. New patient coordinator is very rude. Comparing to doctor Starks team, I will not recommend.
Bri Skiles: Dr. Riggs and his team are the best in KC. Highly recommend for your Fertility needs.
Bridget Taylor: Plus Size Friendly Doctor & Staff! While I had to keep my BMI under 39, I wasn't asked to go on any crazy diets or told to "lose at least 100lbs and then IVF might be an option" like I had been told with a previous doctor.Dr. Riggs asked me to stop taking the 15+ supplements I thought I had to take to manage my PCOS and dropped me to a simple prenantal (and vitamin D after bloodwork). He ran every diagnostic test for my husband and I and determined that I needed to lose all of two pounds, and then we started with medicated timed cycles. We were pregnant within the year. The 10-month waiting list for the consultation was worth the care, kindness, and patience we were shown by everyone at Blue Sky. During cycles, when I needed to take a break, it was only looked at with kindness.Hayley and Molly at the front desk are so sweet and became my unofficial cheerleaders 🌟Ashley made me feel so comfortable with having to do ultrasounds, and all the nurses and staff were so knowledgeable, caring, and willing to work with me to find the best solution for my medications.I could never write enough kind words. Thank you, Blue Sky!
Nina Richman: Amazing staff and amazing care. Couldn’t be more grateful for Dr. Riggs and his team.
Julie Kemna: The best decision I've made for my family is switching to Blue Sky Fertility in our journey to have a child. I had previously been with a different RE in the Kansas City area who treated me as a number rather than a person. I learned more in my first consultation with Dr. Rigg's then I did the entire five years with my previous doctor. He is extremely knowledgeable and personable with every patient. Every single person on their staff was invested in our journey. It was a great feeling during a process that already felt so lonely. You can't go wrong in choosing Blue Sky Fertility.
Mommy2 Lunden: This is the second time we have worked with Dr. Riggs and this time went just as well as the first time. It would be impossible for my husband and I to give BSF anything but 5 stars because their practice is top notch! The staff is nice, knowledgeable and they consistently went above and beyond in our case, especially the NP Jen and embryologist Derica. One of my favorite things about this office is that they answer the phone and help you then and there. Rarely ever do you wait for anything when you call, no matter if it’s about billing, labs or just a question. I would never hesitate to refer friends or family to Blue Sky.
Sophie Pierce: I will never be able to thank Blue Sky and Dr. Riggs enough for what they have given me. Had my first appointment in 2018 and most recent visits in 2022. Has been awesome to see the office grow during that time. Very much deserved. Even passed on using infertility coverage with a different clinic, just so I could return to Blue Sky. Wouldn’t change a thing!
Christina Alvarado: I cannot recommend Blue Sky enough. Everyone we encountered, from the front desk staff, to the ultrasound techs, nurses, Dr. Riggs, and everyone in between was so competent, empathetic, and personable. I didn’t ever feel like a number there, instead, it felt like they knew me personally and knew my history. The thoroughness of Dr. Riggs made me confident that I was getting the best care, and it obviously worked. We are now pregnant after our first embryo transfer! Love this place and everyone who makes it so special.
Becky Whitaker: The Blue Sky Fertility team is amazing! They always go above and beyond! My family is so thankful for our 3 special babies whom have all been conceived through IVF with the help from these wonderful people.
willie young: We wouldn’t have our greatest blessing if it wasn’t for Blue Sky. We are forever thankful for Dr. Riggs and his team.
Catelyn O'Connor: Words cannot describe how grateful we are for Blue Sky. We were a very complicated case (although they NEVER made us feel that way). The nurses provided support, knowledge, so much expertise and priceless guidance. Dr.Riggs was so knowledgeable and we felt lucky to have him as our doctor. We welcomed our baby girl this past fall and we could not be happier. We failed miserably at a previous fertility clinic… Blue sky was worth the wait!
Heather Leininger: I can’t say enough about the phenomenal experience we had with Dr Riggs and staff that brought us our long awaited rainbow baby after nearly 8 years of infertility. They offered candid advice with compassion for what we went through before we found them and took time to give us explanations we understood that allowed us to make informed decisions with our treatments. Our nurse, Jen, made sure to do all she could to make testing as smooth as possible when she heard about my previously terrible and traumatic procedures. Dr Riggs was willing to step outside the conventional box for our situation and it ultimately led to a successful and healthy conception. We’re incredibly grateful for all they did to conceive our son and look forward to returning for our future children.
Katy Winget: We absolutely love Blue Sky! They take a personalized approach to every patient! Dr. Riggs and his staff treat everyone like family. We are forever grateful for the Blue Sky team.
Maren Worley: Blue Sky is the best of the best. I am not an “easy case,” and they never gave up on me. Dr. Riggs is knowledgable, innovative, and encouraging while also being honest and realistic. Every time I went in and interacted with the staff, I felt like I must be their favorite by all the personalized care and compassion I received, but all of their other patients I’ve connected with says the same thing, so it’s truly just how they are. Switching to them from my previous clinic was a pivotal moment in our infertility journey, and I’m grateful every day for Blue Sky.
Tiffany Andrews: My husband and I tried to concieve for 12 years before reaching the point that we agreed to IVF. DR. Riggs and his staff are fantastic. Very caring, knowledgeable, and honest. The pricing we recieved was very transparent which was a big deal with us having no fertility coverage. We completed one round of IVF with 2 viable embryos. I also had to have polyps removed under his care. We are now expecting our little miracle after one transfer. We have female and male factor infertility and would not be here without these amazing people.
Elizabeth Sapp: I can’t say enough wonderful words about Blue Sky… the way my sister was treated throughout her entire journey made my heart so happy. Not to mention, the perfect nephew that we now have in this world, from the help of Blue Sky.
Cha Nono: These beautiful humans helped make my sister's dream baby a reality. Against the odds and never gave up hope! They supported her every step of the way and I can never thank them enough for the miracle they created for her!! ❤💚❤
Dana Ballou: One of my good friends transferred her baby through this clinic and had amazing reviews for them! She now has a beautiful one year old baby boy.
Meghan Kolleen: I couldn't be happier and more blessed with my experience. Front desk to business office to lab techs, nurses, sonography, aids, embryologist, np, and the amazing DrRiggs.... Blue Sky is family. You will feel like family. They are worth every penny.
