Madison Heman: Everyone at this location needs a training on how to properly blend concretes. Every single time i come to this location only half is blended so i would rather drive 10 minutes to a different locationThis is a new review almost a year later I forgot why I avoid this location! I was so excited to have the strawberry shortcake sundae and the shortcake in this is cold, they had our order out in about 1 minute so I knew something wasn’t right. They also again barely blended the snowmonster concrete and there was 0 zero strawberries in it. Honestly its so frustrating and upsetting especially after paying $16 for this.

Vernon Estes: We moved to this area a couple months ago from closer to downtown. The Andy’s we used to go to served the ice cream with a normal amount of toppings and they filled the cups to the top.It’s frustrating when you wait 15 minutes and pay nearly 15 dollars for 2 ice creams only to get home and discover that the custard has almost no toppings in it. The attached pic is in no way manipulated to hide toppings…I had to dig around with my spoon to find the few tiny pieces of peanut butter cups that were present. Additionally, the location seems to only fill the cups to about an inch below the top of the cup.I never complain and I never leave reviews but this particular location might be one to avoid. It’s expensive ice cream..customers don’t like to feel like a business like that is skimping.

I end up with a stomach ache every time I try it, so I'm giving it up. Plus, the cars lined up on Westport Road is a hazard. It's faster if you just park and go up to the window anyway.

Brianna Hill: This place is awesome!! Came in here on my birthday two weeks ago and loved my Gone Campin’ milkshake! The guys that took my order and made my shake were so helpful and kind! Heather L'Ecuyer: Visited this place as part of the Westport Bounce, and their soft serve was great. The service was fast, the portions were large, and the atmosphere was relaxed making it nice to sit and chill for a bit. Just make sure to get plenty of napkins, it can get messy.

It's one of my favorite places to go for a sweet treat. They have so many delicious flavors to choose from, from classics like chocolate and vanilla to creative ones like lavender honey and brown butter pecan. They also have some unique flavors that are only available in Kansas City, like the KC burnt ends & sauce ice cream, which is made with Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que. The ice cream is creamy and rich, and the portions are generous. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is cozy and fun. I heard that Betty Rae's is recently under new ownership, and I hope that nothing changes with the quality and variety of their ice cream. Betty Rae's is a gem in Kansas City, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves ice cream.

Na- Na: This is a pretty nice Ice Cream shop. They offer milkshakes as well, which is what I went for. I got a Butter Pecan small sized milkshake which was good, the price is a bit much for the portion, but it’s not terribly unreasonable. It was about $7. It’s a pretty good vibe and nice looking space but if it gets crowded it’s not as enjoyable which I assume happens often based on the busyness that day. A little bus was parked outside of it which I assume is another space to enjoy your ice cream. There’s also other outdoor seating aside from the bus. All in all: 3.5/5.

DJ Doop: Used to work at this exact location from 2012-2015 and the place has changed a bit. I went for a full week about two weeks ago and service was bleh. No greeting upon entering the store, drip trays on the machines looked like they had not been rinsed off, cleaned or switched out in a while but this experience I let things slid as I was very satisfied with the froyo that I had not had in a while.2nd encounter I wanted to purchase a 32oz cup and went to the counter to ask an employee if i could get a 32oz cup because they weren’t available for me to grand. The employee then said they were doing 32oz cups that day because apparently they were running the special for the $6 fill ups, that made me even more excited! I grabbed 2 16 oz cups and get to the register to be rung out and the total was not for the special that! And I questioned the employee at the register and she stated that unless I told her I wanted to take advantage of the special ir showed the special on my phone it’s protocol thru management to charge the regular price. Seems a bit sketch especially since I had no idea of the special, an employee told me about it and…. I still have to tell you I want to do the special. When I used to work at this location we would definitely do better customer service in giving the customer the special if you just told them about it. Not to mention, what was the point in taking the 32oz cups off the floor if the customer still has to tell you that they want a $6 fill up?

Siby Pearce: I’ve visited this place a few times when I’m in town to visit family, and it’s been great in the past. This time, I was shocked at how grubby and unsanitary the place was. Some of the frozen yoghurts “were not swirling” (granted, as it was later in the evening of a hot day, some of them were not frozen completely. The bathroom (the one that was not out of order) was filthy; toilet had not been flushed, tp holder was broken on the floor, there was no soap and no hand towels (I hope the employees use a different bathroom and can wash their hands). Overall, it was just really icky. What a shame to see it so run down as it always has been a great place.

Jazz Cat: My brother took me here for ice cream once, and it was kind of funny because the lights were flickering and one was completely burnt out these two guys were talking like a shady deal was going down, one said "it's in the back by the waffle cones" before they both turned around to look at me and my brother in an awkward manner before the one who spoke left and the guy behind the counter took our orders. It was a very awkward couple of minutes before me and my brother left laughing at whatever we just saw.All I gotta say is ice cream is good, but atmosphere bad if you want to sit inside.

Priyanka Kumar: NEVER ORDER FROM HERE!!! My friend's mom ordered her a birthday cake to be delivered to her with her name on it and the wrong cake was delivered. She called them and they said that they gave the delivery guy the wrong cake. At first they said they would deliver the correct cake but it never came. Later they tried to claim that it was door dash's fault and that we would have to not only order but PAY for a new cake. Now they are refusing to bring the correct cake or even give a refund. The manager claims that he does not know what to do and that he is new on the job. One time on the phone he even had the gall to say I'm sorry this happened but I am busy and have to go. Never even called back! He failed to make any kind of effort to rectify the situation. He also says his boss may call but says that could be whenever. Usually we love cold stone and this branch. Massive failure!!!!
Casey Gregg: Don't order delivery. I ordered through their website, used a Coldstone giftcard. You know what I got? Go Chicken Go. Can't talk to the local Coldstone, they say "Talk to Doordash". Well, your link is broken, the driver won't pick up and I ordered through you! This is the problem with routing through Doordash. Even the link from Coldstone to rate the Doordash driver was broken.
Emily (Selkie): I came here the morning of February 12th to celebrate Valentine's Day early with my boyfriend. It was still cold out so there was no wait. I ordered the Oreo cookie dough ice cream (The Way the Cookie Crumbles) in the Gotta Have It (Large) size.It was pretty good, though honestly at the moment I should've ordered the medium size instead. It was filling to the point of nearly making me sweet-sick.The price was a little on the expensive side, but is to be expected for this ice cream shop chain. Service was alright, nothing to write home about. I do imagine the store gets very busy once the weather warms up though.

Heather Coverdell: Wonderful place to eat I ordered a kids meal of chicken strips and they were fresh and crispy. The fries had the right amount of salt and the clary that took my order was so nice. I ordered a mint shake too and they added chocolate chips just like I requested which made the whole meal taste incredible. Nice to know I can get a decent meal in this town for under $9 dollars. I was pleased and happy with the drive thru customer service. Great value and reasonable priced food items. I recommend this place to my friends and family.

Chandra Jennings: Was craving ice cream today while visiting KC, and my mom and I decided to swing by Betty Raes. We see why it is one of the most popular local ice cream spots as the line was out the door. The long line went quickly, and we got helped by the nicest guy that allowed us to try a couple of samples of the after dark and mint chocolate chip. Both were amazing! The mint chocolate chip was not super sweet and was super light. My mom loved the after dark that was chocolate on chocolate on more chocolate. I decided to get the mint chocolate in a waffle cone, and my mom decided not to get anything. But, as we were checking out, the guy insisted that she get a child's cup, and she said yes. The guy checked us out but did not charge my mom for the child's cup, which was really sweet. Thus, we left them a nice tip! Great service and amazing local ice cream made with lots of love and not all the junk! Betty Raes is a must when in KC!!
