The Raphael Hotel, Autograph Collection: what do users think?
Shere-Ling Kraus-Yao: From time to time I need to stop at this place to finish my paper or reading, or etc, before my next stop as I had eaten at the bar downstairs the restaurant and bar even though I don’t stay here, The hotel attendees always were welcoming me the same!!!Nearby activities: There are many activities throughout the year including holidays at the Plaza and near by! Good for regular strollers or special trip travelers to this city.Food & drinks: Very tasty but pricy!
Nancy Draffen Brown: Beautiful hotel with A-1 service. Within walking dustance of the Plaza.Rooms: Beautiful and spacious suitesNearby activities: Shopping, museum, hospital, groceries, restaurants galore and more!Walkability: Most activities were in walking distance. The area was very walkable.

Sherri Berger: Omg...love, love this hotel. It's a beautiful boutique hotel. Everyone working there was so nice, friendly, and helpful. They bent over backwards to make my stay a good one...and I got upgraded to a large, beautiful suite which added to the incredibleness of my trip.Rooms: Exquisite decor...very peaceful and elegant. Beautiful art, all the conveniences, lots of USB outlets, Kurig coffee machine with really good coffee pods, TV with Netflix and Amazon prime, love the deep tub, bathroom has a beautiful marble floor, plush towels, great pillows and bedding. Can't wait to return.
A Godley: The Raphael Hotel was just lovely! Such character and ambiance, beautiful! Our room was excellent! Clean and nicely decorated! We had a great view of The Plaza too! Everyone was friendly and helpful. We loved that Chaz is both their restaurant and bar with live music! How enjoyable! Loved that we could walk to and from the plaza area. Lots of shopping and fun things to do. We had a lovely stay!
Debbie Simpson: The accouting department is lacking. I always have to request an itemized receipt more than 2 times. As of today I've emailed 3 times for 3 different dated receipts for my manager. sitll nothing. Now I am going to contact the General Mgr.Noteworthy details: Need to train accounting to get the job done
Tiffany Pollard: This was my first stay at The Raphael Hotel, Autograph Collection. I stayed in a 1 king suite for 2 nights (Sunday - Tuesday) for a work event.ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: I arrived at 1:30p; check-in took a couple minutes max. Very efficient!ROOM: Prior to arrival, I contacted the hotel to request a quiet room away from elevators. I was assigned room #909.• Amenities: Hair dryer, Keurig, luggage racks, mini fridge (keeps drinks very cold!), robe, safe; no microwave• Bath: The only real issue with my stay - loved the deep tub & excellent pressure, but the water bounced between scalding hot & freezing cold. It happened both mornings & one evening, so it wasn't a fluke. In fact, I couldn't even stand under the shower head the second day.• Bed: Bed was decently comfortable, but the sheets were rough/scratchy. I'm glad I brought my own soft pillow.• Cleanliness: Very clean! Housecleaning tidied up my room before 1p the next day.• Decor: Standard• Heating/cooling: Comfortable temp, quiet unit• Sound: Very quiet• TV: Smart television. Clear reception w/ decent selection of channels.• View: 49th & Wornall (back of the hotel)• WiFi: Strong, worked well in room & conference areaCUSTOMER SERVICE: Excellent all-around, including the bellhop, front desk, valet, even the chat feature. In addition, the hotel graciously honored late check-out, which worked out perfectly for my work event.LOCATION/PARKING:• Location: Within walking distance of many restaurants & shopping• Parking: Included in our meeting rateWould I recommend/stay again? Yes, absolutely!

Lindsey scott: Gorgeous hotel great staffRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Carley S: Excellent bar service and helpful staff! Rooms were lacking: muggy, loud and insufficient AC. However, I’d rather pay for high quality service over high quality room on short trips. No self parking, expensive valet.Walkability: Great locale.
Kevin Lowry: Rooms: GreatNearby activities: It's a lot of things various activities Power and Light District a little bit of everythingSafety: Very safe security and police patrolFood & drinks: Food Service there and walkable restaurants everywhere Crossroads districts Power and LightNoteworthy details: Great complimentary breakfast
Kevin Escobar: A lot of homeless around the area. Otherwise very clothes to the power & light district.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 3/5 …More
cindy finah: This is not a superior hotel. The valet was so nice. The room is the size of a closetDefinitely not a 5 star hotelRooms: Small small smallView of dirty alley, trash.
Nathaniel Kane: Disappointed in my stay. Multiple amenities listed on the website were not available, as well as incorrect hours for the restaurant, as three different closing times were available to see. 24-hour room service advertised, but no room service available. When locked out of the hotel on Friday night, no signage to indicate that the mobile key would not open the door. Had to call the front desk 3 times to get back in and was met with a very rude agent that would not provide me with a physical key because I had "made my choice". Room was fine, only reason I didn't give it 1 star, but it felt like a bait-and-switch from the Marriott website and dealing with the rude front desk clerk on the evening of 5/5.
Katheren Minter: Nice building a friend of ours lives there
Danielle Ogden: Wonderful hotel! Front desk staff was amazing, particularly Vanity. She helped me check in, storing my luggage when my room wasn't ready and then had a stash of a variety of bandaids when I got blisters on my heels from walking around the city in dress shoes. Rooms were gorgeous and handicap accessible!Walkability: About a 5 to 10 minute walk to the convention center. Many walkable restaurants and great downtown area.
Della MIller: This hotel is absolutely luxurious. The front desk staff greet you with incredible smiles and are extremely attentive. The valet staff are also incredible, responsive and their customer service is top notch. The bar and front lobby is breathtaking.I had a King Bed room. What made this experience extra special was the bartender - Ishmael. His passion for mixology, creating his own bitters, paying attention to layers of flavors on drinks and engaging with us at the bar really made this stay extra special and a place I cannot wait to bring my entire work crew. I will absolutely return on my next visit to Kansas City!Nearby activities: Fabulous restaurants, Irish Pubs within walking distance. I went to Bristol for dinner!Walkability: You have to approach this hotel in your vehicle on the correct side of the road, thats the only thing I had to get right each time.Food & drinks: Breakfast was okay, I didnt try dinner.Bar was FABULOUS. Relaxing, romantic, soft jazz playing low lights.Noteworthy details: I stayed in the contemporary side Im dying to find out what the other rooms are like.
Andrew George: really great spot, great atmosphere, rooms were brighter than most autographs. Great staff, valet on point, same with the desk. I do wish that i could give it a 4.75 because my only complaint was that the steak soup had no steak. But i will round up because it was such a nice stay.
Lauren Harak: This is one of our FAVORITE hotels. The staff alone makes the hotel magical. Sheri at the bar is one the sweetest and most talented bartenders we've ever met and her customer service is just out of this world. Staying at the hotel is worth it just to have Sheri make you a drink.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Rowe Family: The hotel room was so so. To me the nicest person was actually the valet. As soon as we arrived the valet was very attentive. That's pretty much where the service stopped. We walked in the door immediately. Someone yelled, when I say, yelled, I mean HOLLERED, "Hello, are you a guest here?" I was being profiled. It was like everyone in the lobby turned and looked at us. The worker then left from behind the counter while she was assisting another customer, with a line behind that customer. She left them, and the line, came over to me and my daughter who didn't even get a chance to sit in the lobby chairs and proceeded to ask, Are we a guest here and and further demanded our room number. I mean she loudly interrogated us right in front of everybody when there was a line there that she should have been servicing as opposed to profiling us because I guess she thought we didn't fit the description of the type of guests who normally stay there. The next day no one at the front desk even acknowledged us when we were leaving out to view the city. They were very rude. I will never stay there again. We were in town for a national conference. She not only gave the hotel a bad representation but left the sour, tasted my mouth for visiting Kansas City again.
Karan Sethi: The bar downstairs is very good.
#noelonthemove: Love this hotel! The bedrooms and bathrooms are massive. Very comfortable beds. Love how they give you extra pillows and towels too! The rooms could have better lighting if you are working from the room but otherwise perfect.Gorgeous design and love the mini bar and snacks in the room!
Matthew Durr: Great hotel in a great location to power and light!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury …More
Todd Schmidt: Great initial impressions!!!Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Riyad Kalla: One of the Marriott properties you wish you could drag around the world with you so it would always be where you were.Killy and Kim were absolute PEACHES to our family and made the trip especially memorable.Thank you all for such an enjoyable stay!Rooms: Big, spacious, well appointed and comfortable.

Charlotte Kovacs: Lakota is a true asset to your business. He drove us places, was very friendly, gave us great suggestions on restaurants in the area, and even helped us carry our luggage down from the room. We were on a mother- daughter get away. Lakota made sure we were taken care of and he was very professional at all times.Rooms: Great room!
mswenna74: When I first walked in I was pleased with the environment, however I was taken when I entered the pool area, being the only black female other than a few employees. And noticed silence as I entered and walk to be seated, feeling should I go or I stay but then I decided to adjust to an environment that first seemed, public or invite only if you no what I mean, the salad and wine was great would I go back yes I would, why cause this is AMERICA and we are ONE,Food & drinks: Great
Isabelle Myzer: I didn't rent a room, so I can't really say how the rooms were. However I did dine at the 9210 and the service was AMAZING! Our waitress Nikki was incredibly nice and funny! She took a picture of my friends and I and hilariously took a self y! The restaurant is also incredibly nice with a great view! Will be back!Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view …More
Patti Kent: Beautiful room and great restaurant.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Romantic, Quiet, Kid-friendly, Great value …More
Jimmy Shelton: Overall, it was a great experience, rooms are clean beds comfortable. The only thing that was disappointing was the restaurant. the wait staff at the bar were not very attentive. We had to go out of our way to get their attention, overall not great at the bar and restaurant, lobby staff while checking in were great. The coffee bar in the morning is cool but not complementar, we ate breakfast elsewhere.
Rachel Jackson: Pros:- nice lobby area and outdoor seating area- very polite and friendly staff who were attentive to our needs- location is convenient if you plan to go the country club plazaCons:- the lampshade on the main lamp in our room was obviously broken and kept falling off the stand- the entire place feels dirty; the hallway and room carpets were visibly dirty and stained- the fitness center has very limited equipment and was missing many of the items featured in the photos- there were no USB ports for charging items; the iHome provided was very outdated and broken- some of the outlets in our room would not hold the electric plug and were not functional- the rainfall shower was barely dripping and had horrible water pressure- we tried to use the rooftop pool but it was very crowded; the pool area is very small and they allow non-hotel guests to use it so there is limited room for hotel guests- I was supposed to receive my receipt via email but it never arrivedThe entire place needs to be updated to current technology and functioning. It feels like a hotel with amenities from 2010. The staff were the only saving grace.
Brooke Sanders: Rooms: We arrived at 6 pm and found the carpet wet in our room. GROSS / is it a leak ? Is it sewage ? We were assured it would be taken care of - 3 hours later - nothing ! And the front desk told us to go find Cassie at the bar ! She told us she didn’t have time to check her email bc she has a luau going on? And told me to stop talking . Worst customer service ever .
Mason (cmd-space): Keito and the rest of the team were great!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Ashley Millang: Over the top customer service! All employees were friendly and went above and beyond to ensure a great stay.Walkability: Right on the plaza- great location!
Arnetia Nelson: Great location and the staff is great and friendly. Room wasDirty, carpet in the room in front of the bed was nasty, the lamps were malfunctioning flickering off and on I’m assuming that’s why they were unplugged. Booked room for two guest only one set of towels were in the room.Hallway floors were filthy. Definitely not a 5 star hotel.
Robert Johnson: Had a really nice visit here. Everything was clean and in good order with rooms that impressed. My only complaint is the use of a sliding door in the room's bathroom sans any lock or mechanical restraint. A regular door with a latch and lock would be far more preferable.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Aarron: The restaurant desperately needs help. Slow service and decent food.Service: 2/5 …More

21c Museum Hotel Kansas City: what do users think?
Joshua Clark: The 21c in Kansas City is absolutely phenomenal! I cannot rate the cleanliness high enough, every single spot throughout was flawlessly clean. There were no paint chips or spots in the bathroom that could have been touched up more. What I loved most was how bright and tall the hallways into the rooms were, it was a great detail that could not be missed. Lastly, even though the hotel wasn’t offering valet at the time, the front desk agent was able to recommend secure parking at a very close location. All around, this is an amazing hotel!
Shelby Bolton: Rooms: Our room had a broken mini fridge and a broken coffee machine, kind of outdated, the water left a weird film feeling, breakfast was $15 extra in the restaurant. The art gallery was definitely a cool bonus, it was pet friendly.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Amanda Personett: The mother's day brunch was awesome.
Wildcat 6319: Wow! Admittedly I was a bit concerned since this is a downtown hotel that was significantly less than the others on Big Slick weekend. Location is just a couple of blocks from the streetcar. Parking garage just across the street is $10 overnight. Check in and check out were a breeze! Long walk from the elevators to our room, but you did upgrade us so we’re good!
Justine Newquist: These guys used the space in the historic building cleverly, making both the guest rooms and galleries feel very spacious. Bonus, there is fantastic breakfast, kind staff, and a parking garage right across the street. I only stayed one night, but felt like I had enough time to appreciate the work put into the place.
Chuck Sanders: Loved it and the restaurant is incredible!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Ghost 21a: It was ana amazing hotel. I just would have expected better service and more amenities for the price.Noteworthy details: It is literally an art gallery as well as a hotel.
Katja Thomas: I’ve stayed here before “pre-pandemic”. It was an excellent stay which is why I booked again. Overall a good experience. However, they switched from individual soap, lotion, etc…I don’t like using “shared” toiletries. It isn’t tamper proof. You can buy your own in the shop (they used to be free).Housekeeping missed some stuff but since I only stayed one night I didn’t complain and cleaned on my own. (You could tell they just did a refresh, it didn’t even smell like someone did full housekeeping) However, I did have them come and dust because you could see the layers of dust on the overhead pendant lights. (The sink overflow was really gross 🤢 you could tell they never clean it).Rooms: Decor.Safety: No complaints on safety.Food & drinks: Limited. 75% of the affordable menu is seafood, shell fish, or has mushrooms in it. For me, the price was not worth it.($$$$). The food was good but if everything around wasn’t closed…I probably wouldn’t have eaten at the hotel.Noteworthy details: The rotating art is the attraction and the staff is very friendly.
Pudding Tame: Again the wonderful 21C chain comes through with great food and great art. The restaurant is particularly delightful with old-fashioned carved wood and stained glass windows.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Luxury …More
Sam Keske: Entertainingly quirky, modern hotel that is very much also a 24-hour museum for guests. Decent spot, cost to the City Market, and quiet. It's an old building, so the room AC may struggle. Nespresso makers in the rooms are a nice touch. And you're encouraged to interact with the blue penguins :)Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury, Quiet …More
Craig Phillips: We had such a wonderful weekend here!Rooms: Comfy king size bed! Desk and housekeeping staff were awesome,.Nearby activities: Area is full of bars and restaurants.Walkability: Close to the tram and the farmrs market.Food & drinks: The savoy has been around since 1903. The bar has a real bartender.....not just a drink pourer.Noteworthy details: Loved the penguins!
Santos Moreno: Overall, I would not recommend the 21C Hotel to anyone. The environment is just too depressing, and the rooms are too small to be comfortable. If you're looking for a relaxing and enjoyable hotel experience, I suggest looking elsewhere.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More
Charity Hawley: I had really high hopes for this hotel, but our stay was underwhelming and the service at the restaurant was abysmal. We stayed 2 nights. The bed was comfortable enough, but the air conditioning has a sensor on it, so if there is no movement, it turns off. I understand this during the day when people are out and about, but while sleeping? The first night we woke up sweaty and uncomfortable. I complained and the engineer was sent up to turn the sensor off so the next evening wouldn't be so hot.Housekeeping came during our 2nd day while we were gone, gave us fresh towels, took one dirty coffee cup since we ended up sharing it (see decaf comment below.) The bed wasn't made. Used wash rags and towels weren't taken and the coffee cup they took wasn't replaced/cleaned.I also requested caffeinated coffee because we had 3 decafs and 1 regular. Someone came up carrying 4 decafs and when I mentioned that, she left and said she'd see what she could find. Never saw her again. Now for the restaurant. It was Mother's Day weekend and I had prepaid for breakfast and got 4 vouchers. We decided to use them Sunday morning and the host(ess) said they could get us in for the special brunch. It was $50 a person, so our vouchers only covered a little more than 1 meal. That's fine. They seated us. We sat for a few minutes with no server stopping by, so we went into the buffet room to fix our plates. The buffet wasn't bad, but the salmon was cold, quiche was slightly undercooked and cold and the beef looked a bit too rare. These were all things I likely would have not complained about. Except, it seems our server decided not to EVER come to our table. I asked who I assumed was a manger if we had a server about 10 minutes into our meal. He said we did, and asked if he could get us anything. We asked for sodas.20 to 30 minutes after we were seated and had finished a plate of food, I went to the host stand and asked again if we had a server because we had not seen them once. A different manager wearing a suit was standing there with about 3 other people and the hostess said she'd told the server (called her by name, but I won't mention it here.) I assumed the other manager would have told the server also when we asked for sodas. We would have loved to have had a bloody mary or something from the mimosa bar and likely would have ordered some oysters. But...no server asked or brought us the champagne or vodka for the bloody mary and mimosa bar and after 30 minutes, we were just mad.The place is small....so I can only assume she decided she didn't want to wait on us. At that point a different server Katelyn (sp) came over and apologized and said she would be our new server and was the saving grace for our last maybe 15 minutes or so there. We travel quite a bit. And for a 4 star hotel, I would have expected a lot more thoughtfulness and attention to detail regarding coffee/room setup and house keeping. I cancelled our 3rd night and we went to a different hotel for our last night in Kansas City.As for the Savoy restaurant, make sure they point out your server when they seat you, or just skip it altogether. The food wasn't worth $50 a plate even if the service had been good.
Brian Patton: This certainly a very overpriced hotel with very little to show for it. I’ve traveled all over the US and world and there’s no way it’s ranked 15th in the US. Most Hampton Inns are cleaner, better equipped and more luxurious. The breakfest buffet was poor and poorly serviced. The bathrooms and carpets were unclean and the mattresses were not premium. It would be my last choice to stay again. Not even close to an Omni, JW Marriott or Hyatt. Just because it has art doesn’t mean it’s a quality stay.
E A: So very disappointing. It's Anniversary weekend.... No children, no work, no stress, just wanted to stay somewhere fun/unique and eat good food around town. The bar was not set high folks. Walk into the room....easily 90 degrees. I walk downstairs and say our air isn't working could we please get a room with AC. this is when staff informs me... "it's motion activated, it should cool down within the hour".... It's July in kc, it's 95+ outside so whenever you leave your room to go get food or drink or... you want to sleep.... Your room goes up to 90+ degrees....literally never gets cool enough (weren't even vents in the bathroom it never dropped temp ever). To get the AC to not turn off at night while we slept we asked for a box fan and I sat a dress in front of it so it would blow and keep the motion activator engaged. We needed the fan with it being 80+ degrees constantly in our room anyways. Not to mention there's an empty mini bar fridge in your room that you have to pay to use,ok fine. they say call for a regular mini fridge if you want one at no charge but when we asked for one we were told there weren't any. So we asked could we just use the mini bar fridge in our room and not be charged (it's an amenity listed on site) we were laughed at and told no way. I don't get it. So if you don't like AC or basic comfort this place would be for you I guess. But if you actually want a 4 star hotel that offers more amenities than the best Western, this isn't for you. We checked out next day and we were supposed to be there three nights.Rooms: So uncomfortableNoteworthy details: NO AC NO AMENITIES NO COMFORT
Adam: The hotel room had no heat; when I complained, the hotel staff and management explained to me that the hotel is in eco mode… they then passed me off twice to engineering so that they could also tell me the hotel was in eco mode. The solution was to offer me more blankets but using heat was not going to happen. There is also something strange about the shower water. It’s hard to explain, but it felt gooey.
Tom Simpson: Great vibe. Art throughout the hotel is interesting and well described. The neighborhood was meh. Walkable to other restaurants and the street car but the place was surrounded by giant surface parking lots. Which made parking super easy BTW, but we like to walk. Walkable to City Market depending on your tolerance. Room was very nice, free coffee.
Sheryl Ragland: Positive: great location and walkable to several restaurants and music venuesNegative:1. Room on top floor. Poor water pressure was a little more than a trickle.2. TV service did not have NCAA tournament channels.3. Onsite art museum closed for an event, so Not open 24 hours as 21c advertises.4. For the price, we paid expected 1-3 not to be an issue. Overpriced for KC market @ a number north of $400 for one night.5. Left message with front desk manager to share my experience. No call back... Hence my first Ever negative written review.

Jenni Moppin: Beautiful views!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury …More
Gary Lewis: Great atmosphere the food is good and good service.Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Thomas Hammon: So far so good really nice place right in the heart of the historic plaza district in KCMO.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury …More
Robyn Kendle: Overcome with an awful smell when entering the hotel. Staff was friendly, and very helpful. Drinks from bar were well crafted. Room didn’t smell like the main floor, but was stuffy. Bathroom was full of hair. What sealed the deal for me was the comforter on the bed. I’m guessing this is blood, but not sure.
Brent Winterberg: I was there for a seminar, not an overnight guest. Facilities were clean and staff friendly. The only problem was trying to get into the hotel from the parking garage. Required to call security to get in, and they don't seem to be right there monitoring it, so it took a while each time.
judi jewell: So disappointing! Hotel desk staff terrible. If you have a truck valet park because you have to park on the roof and the door into the building doesn't not work. Valet staff great. Our room was ok but not totally clean. Bugs on the floor between the furniture and the walls. We choose not to look under the bed. Staff did not care to do anything after multiple requests. Do not waste your money at the IC. Stay at a different hotel in the plaza.
galena Ellis: This place is perfect if your looking for a quaint, cozy, and clean hotel
Isaac Urrutia: We love it here, however , go out and enjoy the food on the Plaza in other words do not eat there unless you have to, nice place great view from our room
Jeffrey Gonzales: Location was great and the lobby and common areas felt like old fashioned luxury. But once you got to the room it was not luxurious. I found more than a few black curly hairs on the bathroom floor, toilet, and shower. The bed didn't have a fitted sheet, it was just a flat sheet over the plastic sheet. The restaurant was sad. I ordered a salad during the lunch rush of only 3 tables. The salad took 20 minutes to come out with no dressing. I asked for dressing and waited 15 minutes but I had to go. I was still charged $18 for that salad. I give 3 stars instead of 1 because the location is great and the bartenders were fantastic.Rooms: Dirty. Gross. Not well maintained.Food & drinks: Food was sad. Drinks were stellar!
Ken Hetherington: Unexpected and welcome upgrade to a Presidential Suite for a 9 night stay. But overall definitely not 5*. Mostly 2* with mostly bad service and restaurant manager the most rude I have encountered anywhere. Food: appalling to very poor. Total lack of staff inc agency staff without knowledge of standards. A few exceptions but overall bad! Very poor communications so hotel problems, of which were many, were not forewarned or explained. Major problems with telecommunications systems- especially phones but also sketchy internet. The exception was Club Lounge Steward - Don who understood guest satisfaction and went extra mile to make guests feel special and provide a great ambiance. Nevertheless the food in Club Lounge was appalling in both quality and range - Inedible! I surmise hotel lacked competent chef(s).
scott caldwell: Great hotel right off the plaza. Perhaps a little outdated, but the service and view of the plaza is stellar.
Lynett Cross: This was a great location for my business conference. Plenty of restaurants and shopping within walking distance.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Ashley Coursey: The rooms were so quiet and the balcony view was amazing! The staff was also super helpful and friendly.Noteworthy details: Beautiful balcony view.
Megan Roedel: We have stayed here numerous times and it has really gone down hill. The staff are great but the room was absolute garbage for the price. The air conditioning was set at 72 degrees and you can't adjust it, the wallpaper is pealing off, stains on the carpet and furniture, the exhaust fan in the bathroom doesnt work, and the bathroom doorknob kept coming off. We won't be staying here again.
Masa Kanayama: I stayed in this hotel few times before. But this time, the service was terrible at front desk. The front desk person does not even know the room category I booked and she assigned to me two steps down graded room despite I paid the price. Finally the manager came in and corrected her mistake. The room balcony needs to be renovated since there are mold like green stains in the balcony. Overall it was a disappointment stay here. This is not the same intercontinental I knew before.
Bill Holbrook: Was upgraded to a king suite. Room was big with two balconies and two full bathrooms. Staff was very attentive and quick to help however they could. The area is nice and plenty to do within walking distance.A/C in bedroom was not working but they had someone come up immediately when I called the front desk to inform them. Will definitely be back!Pictures are from the concierge lounge and from the two room balconies (5th floor).
Nathan Cabeen: This probably the most expensive hotel I have stayed in and also the worse experience I've had. No ac in the room, they came in to fix it and it still didn't work. Told us they'd meet us at a different room. Waited 30 minutes and they didn't show up. Finally got into a room with working ac 3 hours after we checked in. They refused to give any kind of a refund and barely apologized to us. Would not recommend and will not be back.

Hotel Phillips Kansas City, Curio Collection by Hilton: what do users think?
Charmell Hall: My room was small for 2 ppl, but extremely clean, great staff, great location- definitely upgrade to a larger suite if you aren’t traveling aloneRooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Jim Merz: Your going to spend a lot for a rundown Hotel. Had two rooms BOTH drains did not drain. The pictures are from the second room, not the first room. Front desk staff was horrible when checking in and out. When we checked out both front desk staff on their phones, never looked up. The first valet guy was awesome and the maintenance guy was nice and got us another room. The cost to what you get was to great… stay at another hotel many other options in the power and lights area.
Hakim Abdilahi: STAY AWAY!!!!!! BED BUGS & FILTHY HOTEL!!! 2star motel vibe- could never be 4star. The pictures are a complete trap to make you think this place is even close to decent. Trashy hotel, dirty rooms ( there was blood stain on the side of the bed), parking ramp nearby is tiny and unsafe. There is nothing good to say about this place.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More
Jeremy Chapman: We loved our stay at this historic hotel. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. The room was beautiful, though a little small. We got to stop by the Diamond Lounge for a snack and drinks, and had a nice breakfast in the restaurant the next morning. The location was in easy walking distance of the Kauffman Center, where we were in town to see a concert. Very happy with our stay here. We parked in the garage on the same block for $18 per day.
Jessica Montaño: This is a great hotel. The building is old, so some features show their age. However, rooms are updated and are beautiful.Cons: The walls have cracks and repaints. The elevator floors are kinda gross.Pros: antique features. Crown molding. Letter delivery down the elevator shaft to the lobby. Just an antique atmosphere. The shower in our room flooded the floor because the curtain doesn’t reach all the way down and water sprayed out. The shower faucet was disgustingly covered with water scum/mildew. Sink faucet and handles were loose. There’s a giant mirror across the toilet (weird lol)Every employee we interacted with was amazing.Valet service is $34/day.We booked a 1 king room and got a 2 queen. Kinda annoying but we didn’t feel like addressing it at midnight. So unsure of their resolution. Our door didn’t read our cards in the first room, and they immediately fixed the issue and didn’t make us change rooms.Rooms start on the 5th floor - goes up to 20 floors. Elevators are very small.Nearby activities: Great choices or the tram takes you to good choicesWalkability: Close to a few things downtown. Market close by, tram stop right there, Live! Is down the street and so is union station.
hopperado: Central location downtown. Miserable service levels: no one at the reception upon arrival, now Wi-Fi signal (USA, 21st century!), strange bargaining for later checkout by a bored receptionist playing with his phone.Impressive interior design, foyer in particular.Good breakfast service, yet dishes only a la carte, no coffee distributors.Noteworthy details: No Wi-Fi.
Kathryn Gifford: This hotel is beautiful! Our room was clean and had a great view of the city. We were in walking distance of multiple areas to visit. We’ll be back next time we visit KC!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Great value …More
Samantha Wilson: Gorgeous hotel with great service! Everyone was very hospitable. My only complaint is that we couldn’t find anywhere in the hotel or within walking distance to buy water/other nonalcoholic drinks or snacks. Our room style also didn’t have a fridge (not sure if any of them do) so we couldn’t save leftovers from the restaurants we went to. Vending machines or a little shop would be a nice addition!
Francis Wong: I truly loved it during my stay. Location was perfect and my room (the hotel) was super clean. It was easy to walk around the area. I could catch the city train to get around when it was close enough. otherwise, I just got in to a ride to head out further. I highly recommend this hotel.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury …More
J Baker: Nice atmosphere in the speakeasy. I got the impression they they didn't really want to make any special drinks that were not on their pre-made list.
VISION FOWARD MEDIA LLC.: Beautiful hotel within downtown KC! great for business meetings , R and R , and engagement photos!
Tina Robbins: Enjoyed our stay here—really neat old building that still retains its charm even with modern updates. Our room was clean, nicely and simply decorated. The room was quiet, the bed comfortable and the bathroom fairly spacious for its size. the staff was super friendly and helpful. Added bonus is being so close to the streetcar and other attractions. Definitely would stay here again.
Debra Hall-Koftinow: Fabulous service and accomadations.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Jordan Hayden: Classic hotel reminded me of a 1920’s Style architecture.
Toni Tallman (T2kizz): This was such a nice place. Old school tub with feet. Was a nice touch. You can, we’ll maybe not suggested, do pull ups on the bed frame. In downtown so it’s saturated with places and things to do.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
E A: Ok, so I want to say it's complicated. We stayed during covid so I know things are a bit weird right now. That being said. 4 stars is a liiiitle misleading. It's older, hence the boutique title... I love old hotels.. This isn't a problem but if you want A NEW AND MODERN this isn't for you. I love the old throw backs to the speak easy era so this hotels decor was so pretty. There were some drinks laying around the hotel lobby... Otherwise it seemed picked up. People mention the dust... Again it's not that someone didn't clean its gotta be the building and as soon as you dust it is there again.. I didn't feel it to be dirty. The bed was nice and comfy. Our sweet was spacious and clean. The bathroom tile was a bit soap scummy and needed a good round of bleach but again I didn't feel it was yucky. If you paid full full price you might want a microwave, fridge, and modern AC that keeps it just the exact temperature you want. It never was hot but we had to turn it down to 65 to get it to stay at 68-70 the whole time and it felt more 72ish. That was fine but I do wonder if it would have been really sunny or hotter than 88-90 it would have been warmer than I wanted in the room. Staff was nice but not over accomidating. The upgraded our room when they found out my hubby was a fire fighter... So so nice... But later I asked for a fan and they kinda acted overwhelmed and said "if I have one I'll get it to you"... Never got it or heard back lol. There's just certain things you expect at a 4 star... I'm not saying we didn't enjoy ourselves we certainly did.. I just think more particular people would be disappointed. If you are easy going and just happy to have a clean room like us you'll love it. If you want to top the line 4 star accommodation.. Maybe get a newer hotel.

The Westin Kansas City at Crown Center: what do users think?
Matt: Good location for people with young kids. Easy access to Legoland, science City, the aquarium, etc.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Kenneth Zhang: This place still auto charges you for internet… what’s up with that? Also since I’m using marriott points there is a crazy “redemption fee” of $52, never heard of that one beforeRooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More
Whitney Smith: This is a nice hotel in the heart of KC. Great location for what we needed (attending Boulevardia). Check in took quite a while, and they weren’t sure if our room had a Murphy bed or not. It didn’t, and when we went back to the check in to get a different room, the line was even longer. So, we requested a roll-away bed that was delivered promptly. The phone in the room had been left off the charger, so we weren’t able to call the front desk to request new towels and had to walk back downstairs. It did work once it had charged, though. The main issue was the cockroach that came scuttling across the bathroom the next morning, so I sure hope I didn’t bring any home in my suitcase.
stephanie Anderson: This hotel is in a very central location. We had a very late check in and unfortunately we had some issues with our room. Tammy was amazing and not only found us another room, she kindly upgraded us. What a nice surprise. It really meant a lot to this tired mama. Thanks for a great stay.Walkability: Across the street from the union station, WWI museum, and the cable car. Attached to a mall with shops and food choices.
Luke Freeman: Nice Westin in downtown Kansas City. Easy to access, amble parking, hood rooms and accommodations and helpful staff.Hotel is connected to the Crown Center which provides ample shops and stores that make the stay more inviting and friendly.Easy access to sites adjacent to the area.
the review person: The hotel was nice and so were the staff my only problem was the tv had no streaming serviceRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Quiet, Kid-friendly …More
Jean Michael: Have stayed here for years.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Gary Ma: Beautiful forested upper lobby. Rooms, however, seems old and a bit worn out. There must be nicer rooms somewhere in the hotel because celebrities such as Finn Wolfhard were staying there when I was there.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Jonathan Westerdale: We stayed for two nights and were splurging because we don’t get out of town for pleasure very often and Westin has a great reputation. Overall, I was far from impressed for what is supposed to be a 4-star hotel, I travel a lot for work and I’ve stayed in far nicer 3-star hotels. The amenities that put it over the edge to get to 4 stars (I assume) are the pool, nice lobby area, location, and gym. However, everythingthat actually matters like cleanliness, room design, shower water pressure, the mattress, parking, customer service, and even air conditioning control leave a lot to be desired. In our room were dirty towels and, honestly, few towels. Our counter was dirty and the shower had hair in it. In the bathroom also, the shower design is so odd, not really allowing for full water pressure from either shower head. The windows do not open and I thought there was a balcony, but there’s just a strange railing outside the window for some reason. I’m willing to forgive the bed, but for the price of the hotel (not even including the $25/day parking), I was expecting more. Again, this is supposed to be 4 stars in the center of the city. We woke up sweating bc of the lack of control of the air conditioning control and customer service was not very helpful. On that note, when asked at checkout how our stay was, I stated “fine, but not ideal, if I’m being honest” and the front desk attendant didn’t inquire how to make the stay better for others.I almost forgot to mention the terrible elevator situation. We had to plan out time in our travel time to get down or up the elevator, going down or up could, no joke, be a 10 or 15 minute affair. There weren’t any roaches or anything outrageous, but for the money paid and Westin’s reputation, I’d rather find a boutique hotel or something along those lines that might be closer to the things we actually wanted to see.
Zach Tetuan: Absolutely garbage hotel. I pre-booked the room through a 3rd party site that I use for all my bookings. When I arrived, just like any hotel, I swiped my credit card for incidentals. They proceeded to charge my credit card 4 separate times for a total of $500. For what? I have no idea. I called the front desk and they were no help saying the charges were a mistake but I needed to talk to my credit card company to fix them. So I called and had the charged disputed. It was removed for a month only to be put back on after the hotel apparently responded back to the credit card company saying services were rendered for the charge. They most definitely were not. I pre-paid for the room and paid separately for parking. There was no reason to be charged the additional $500. Now I am in the painful process of responding back and forth with my credit card company. So if you value your money, look elsewhere for a hotel.
