I can ride in a car for 2 hours and actually move when I get out. I can be on my feet for hours and not be in severe pain. I have Osteoarthritis. I start each day with 1 dropper full. I had complicated pregnancies due to a pre-existing condition. When my condition worsened, she was everything I could have asked for and more. Her presence was calming. She spoke to me with respect, explaining exactly what she felt we should do, why, and answering all my questions in an understandable language without being condescending. She even took the time to address my husband and his concerns and was open to discussing and implementing our preferences. I’m grateful to say that while my pregnancies came with scary situations, I never felt traumatized and that is entirely because of Dr. Heizman and her kind, caring, knowledgeable demeanor. Brianna Edwards: 3 stars here’s why.I love Dr Heizman! She’s great! The lady’s at the front desk or whoever answers the phones when you call are absolutely horrible and rude everytime. Once I was in there for almost 2 hours waiting. I got there right after lunch was over so I was the only one in there for 20 minutes and still watched as other women went in before I did. I went up to the desk to see why and they forgot to check me in so I waited and waited for 2 hours. Every time I call and need information about anything (this is my first pregnancy) they are so very rude!! Heizmans nurses are great but that front desk some thing needs to be done there.

Kaylin Brown: Dr. Heizman is absolutely the best doctor I have ever been to. She took me on as a new patient at 36ish weeks pregnant after we moved to KC. I am SO SO SO grateful she did. I had complications with my delivery and she was so calm through out it all. I felt as if she was in my corner and let me choose how I wanted to proceed with my delivery. She will answer all your questions with no judgement and genuinely seems invested in you as a person. I seriously could not recommend her more. She is 100% worth any sort of wait you might have getting an appointment.

I drive an hour and 5 min to see her and it’s so worth it. She is incredibly friendly and made both my pregnancies and deliveries feel like I knew what I was doing. (Even when I had lists of questions/concerns, she didn’t hesitate to go through everything with me and put my mind at ease.) Plainly put, she is the absolute best!

Kursten Kellough: With this being my first pregnancy and also being “new” to the Kansas City area I didn’t know where to begin to look for an OB. With that said, my husband and I became great friends with our realtor and his family; his wife who works at NKCH, recommended Dr. Heizman and I couldn’t be happier. She is amazing, caring, personable, the list goes on. With every question or concern I have brought up she is always listening and answering as if I am the only patient she has and takes her time to ensure all questions and concerns are answered fully.There have been times appointments were pushed out because she was in a C section or another birth or whatever emergency she had to attend to. And I have to say, the patients who complain about this drive me nuts, and are self centered. Every time it has happened (which is also very seldom, but it does happen, hello babies!) I think to myself “that is going to be me one day and a birth of a child takes priority over a routine check.” So before complaining to the front desk, take that into consideration; one day it will be you in labor and I’d think you’d want your OB there delivering your baby. The nurses are great and will let you know if something has come up and times need to be adjusted.I will definitely be seeing only her for future babies; and will recommend her to anyone and everyone! Absolutely loved her.

Jessica Hamid: It's taken me a while to be able to write this and it is going to be a novel. I wish I could leave more stars. Dr. Heizman saw me from the time I was around 8 weeks along to the time I had my babies. From the very first appointment, she was amazing. I am a person who has a lot of anxiety at hospitals. She made sure I was comfortable every time. I was high risk because I was pregnant with twins. At 25 weeks and 3 days I went to the labor and delivery floor after calling the hospital about some weird pain I was having and being told to come in. They checked me for pre-term labor, but everything was fine. They sent the ultrasound tech in and a few minutes later Dr. Heizman came into the room. She told me that there was no heartbeat on baby A and that she was going to have to get me back to the OR for an emergency C-section so that she could try and save baby B. I was terrified. I blamed myself the whole way there and she, along with all of the nurses around me, assured me that it was not my fault and while she was upfront and prompt about what she had to do, she was gentle. She tried everything she could, but despite their best efforts, the other twin died a few minutes after being placed in my arms. Every single person I came into contact with was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Pam and Stacey made my hospital stay alot easier. They both made sure that we got our babies' footprints and moulds of their feet. They had the hospital take pictures for us and they gave us a cold cot so we could have our babies with us while we were staying there. I ended up staying for 5 days due to other complications so it was nice to have those days with our babies. I can honestly say that I feel like Dr. Heizman and the labor and delivery team saved my life. They were all so kind and compassionate. They even invited me to a Bereavement walk at the hospital and sent me a card that all of the labor and delivery team signed. I will never forget how well they treated me during the worst thing that has ever happened in my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will be returning when we have our future babies. 💕

miss kada: I love to stay with my doctors and this is just frustrating with the experience. I’ve had to switch doctors twice, the reason being for rude unprofessionalism and carelessness with my health. Misdiagnosing a patient is a serious problem with these doctors ignoring the patients symptoms and being so callous. Calling in to schedule is even more of joke. I will NEVER refer anyone to them, don’t even burden yourself with the stress and anxiety. At this point I will be reporting this office to The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and I encourage you to do the same if you have any serious problems with this office risking your health and life!

Sophie Cissell: Highly do not recommend, the fertility clinic. Provider Brandi is rude, isn't sympathetic at all. I was waiting for a call back with an updated results on my hcg levels after getting a positive test. I waited all afternoon for a phone call, just to receive an email saying my pregnancy isn't viable and I will miscarry. She has no respect for paients struggling with infertility.

Grace W: I went to the Research facilities for my first ultra sound and was shocked at how dirty the room was. There were piles of dirty rags in the sink, a desk covered in haphazard pieces of paperwork, and an overflowing trash can. In every other hospital visit, the doctor or nurse will wash their hands in the room when they first come in. However since the sink was overrun with dirty rags, that was not an option. I have no way of knowing if my provider washed her hands before performing my internal ultrasound. I would not feel safe giving birth in an environment that was managed by the same crew that takes care of the ultra sound room I was in. Will be switching providers immediately.

Dr. Shaw helped me out so much by scheduling my "women's" healthcare appointments and procedure into her heavily booked schedule AND before the holidays. She was more concerned about my health and well-being than anything else. Her office staff did a fabulous job communicating, scheduling and dealing with insurance precertification requirements. Her medical staff did a wonderful job in pre- and postop. Obviously, everyone, especially Dr. Shaw, did a superb job during the procedure. I am so thankful, grateful and blessed to have all of them in my life.My appointment was at the Midwest Women's Healthcare Specialists in the Kansas City location. My surgery was at Belton Regional Medical Center.

Jessica H: I wish there was a way I could only rate one staff member. Overall, I'd give the practice five stars. Front desk staff is friendly and the midwife I've been seeing (Katie Lorand) has been helpful, caring, and informative. I would give those two five stars.The ultrasound tech in the office is a different matter. I would give her one star. At my 20 week ultrasound, she rushed through, not talking about anything she was doing or measuring. She refused to tell me the location of my placenta or how big my baby was measuring. When I asked her about gender, she took a quick look and said she wasn't sure, but it looked like probably a girl. She didn't spend ANY time trying to be sure. I asked how sure she was (50%? 90%?) and her response was, "Oh, I can't say for sure. You'll know for sure when the baby is born." Well THANKS! That's so helpful!Now mind you, this is not my first baby. It's my fifth. I've had numerous ultrasounds at other labs and offices (this is my first time with this midwife group) and have never had any tech be so dismissive of my questions. And they have always tried to determine gender the best that they can. They also usually give multiple pictures of toes, hands, stomach, heart, and a "gender" shot. She gave a few pictures of the face and a couple of the profile.If you're with Midwest Women's Healthcare and need an ultrasound, I would recommend requesting going to a different tech. This woman needs replaced. She has multiple negative Google reviews. It's time to hire someone who cares about the patients and has decent bedside manners.

Tara Hargis: Dr. Rebecca Wayman is a fantastic OBGYN! She makes sure your needs are met and shows genuine care to her patients. She also doesn’t push her patients to do something, instead she lets them decide by giving them the pros/cons. When it was time to give birth, the labor and delivery nurses were absolutely wonderful! We mostly had Christine and Lisa helping us, but we felt so blessed to have them by our side. The entire staff made us feel so good and we’d choose everyone who helped us all over again. 100% recommend delivering your babies at Research!

They both stated 9 and 9:30. Got there the appointment was not canceled. Very unprofessional.

Every time I call, they are either closed (calling M-F typically between 10am - 2pm) or I get the recording that they're on the other line and to leave a message. After 3 weeks of radio silence, I'm finding a new provider.

Ashley Garrison: This is the worst healthcare facility I have ever stepped foot in, terrible service! I wouldn’t even give it a star but I had to in order to write this review. I had been rescheduled 3 times before I could even be seen because my pregnant obgyn was too sick to come in, some nurses were rude, their staff isn’t even on the same page! Left me a voicemail to confirm an appointment time and when I arrived they proceeded to tell me I missed my appt because the time she said and it actually was we’re different. The list goes on! I wouldn’t even recommend this place if it were the only one around!

Tom Stupka: Horrible Dr! My fiancé went to Dr Schmit for an annual check up and was talked out of a pap, even though she has an auto immune disease that has a high occurrence of cancer. He then performed a pelvic exam instead so he could bill her more and not have her appropriately evaluated. I would steer clear of this office unless you’re looking to be swindled and not appropriate treated/diagnosed. Waste of time and money

I was trying to schedule my first prenatal visit and she was so rude to me and told me that they can't see me till 9 weeks! I literally had to spell her my name, doctor's name letter by letter because she wouldn't or didn't want to understand.The doctor is fine but just because of this service I want to find different office.

Faith Martin: Have been going here for years and still highly recommend them. I’ve seen both Dr. Moore’s, Dr. Hurt, and Dr. Carter (who did my first c-section). With the birth of my first, I didn’t originally want a c-section and the elder Dr. Moore was very respectful of my decision and only suggested a c-section when it was the absolute last option for the health of my baby and myself. I also suffered from postpartum depression and my doctors were very understanding and supporting. Currently pregnant with my second and seeing the younger Dr. Moore, who has been great offering treatment options for my severe NVP.

Rayed K: Doctors are the only professionals ones working at this facility. Registration staff and nurses are out of reality when it comes to service and communication/transparency.We came in for a 20week appt, without talking to us they assumed we were early and made us wait even longer; took 1.5 hours wait after checking in, for a 5 mins ultrasound. Eventually when it was our turn we had to correct our charts as they wanted to us to come back, they realized we were right about our 20 week appt and took care of us in 5mins.If it wasn't for the doctor we would have left this practice asap. To the nursing/registration staff, treat your patients like your family member coming in to visit. Please communicate any delays especially when you see a patient with a toddler..

I immediately booked an appointment and was able to get in without any difficulty.She spent time reviewing my chart, records from other providers and discussed my plan of care - listening to my options and providing clinical-appropriate scenarios if I did not take action to move forward.I chose to take action. The pandemic hit and after a 3-year hiatus re-established my care with her. After performing a few diagnostic tests and again, listening to and addressing my concerns, happy to say I chose to move forward with Dr. Nichols. Her nurse, Laurie, is also fantastic! I don't trust my women's health care with any other provider in the KC area!!

Angel Cummings: I switched to this obgyn after a bad experience with another obgyn. She reviewed my records and discussed my options. The issue I am having is causing extreme pain. She listened and compassionately understood. We discussed my options and I have a few more tests to complete. Which I respect and fully support. She is looking out for my wellbeing and that is a quality you should receive for someone in the medical field. The staff was nice and you can complete most patient forms online ahead of time, making the in take for new patients easy. She is trying to handle this in a timely manner and that also is a positive. Overall I highly recommend ladies who need an obyn who will take care of you as a person and not a number.

LeAnn Davis: She did my emergency c section while my original ob was out of town. She was great and I healed perfect with a hairline scar. She was very personable and professional. Really appreciated her .

Olena Wiedmaier: Dr.Nichols is dishonest doctor. I was her patient for ten years. She did not tell me complete ultrasound results. She told me that everything is normal. I learned the truth about my health after I ended up in ER room in 2017. I had two surgery at Mayo Clinic. Filed complaint for malpractice on Dr.Nichols on 04- 2018.She is under investigation by Missouri State Board of Healing Arts. I hope she will loose her license and stop hurting other patients.

Becca Bastow (Becca): Dr. Nichols is a very competent and caring physician. She is straight forward and honest about any health complications. She takes the time to answer any and all questions and I have never felt rushed. She was wonderful for my prenatal care, pregnancy complications, my necessary induction, delivery, and postpartum care. I'm thrilled to have her again with this second pregnancy.
