Cleaver Family YMCA: what do users think?
Jazmine Simpson: Everyone is very nice
Howard Allen: This is a friendly place to go to sense community. It’s like being adopted into a new family.
Robert Gumpert: The facility is clean and apparently well ran
Veemarie Matlock: I was very pleased with how clean and quiet their facility and well organized. Also the staff was very nice and helpful. Keep up the great work.
Andrea Haugen: Clean, modern, nice facility, friendly people, always equipment and lanes available. I love this location - one of my favorite in Kansas City!
Mrs Cordova: I love the body pump classes, the trainers are amazing... Staff are kind and compassionate.I appreciate the kids zone
Andrew Turner: Great location, friendly staff, a nice facility, and lots of kids' programming options.
Laura Seymour: I love the Cleaver Y. I know there are others that are newer and bigger, but there is something special here. There's a community vibe that I haven't felt in any other facility, YMCA, or otherwise.
Scott Spillman: The Cleaver Family YMCA is a great facility, managed by a warm and friendly staff.
Josh Jackaway: All of the Kansas City YMCA’s are great, but this one is extra special. The staff are kind, friendly and welcoming. There are a variety of child and family activities. They deeply care for and invest in our local neighborhood.
Linda J. Williams: I love the YMCA! The staff are so friendly! I feel so welcome when I walk into the door!
Tj Sports Nation: Horrible experience young life guard with dreadlocks treated me and my family like we were in prison. To the point to where she stood over us in the pool. It made us uncomfortable and we left. Please do better and hire better staff.
Marion Williams: It was a nice visit. I wanted to see what they offered. An employee named Ms Cathy helped me by answering all my questions and providing the paperwork for a membership. I will definitely be going back.
Shirley Williams: Fabulous
Kelly McGranaghan: My husband tried to set up swimming lessons and the aquatics director never responded to his email or phone calls after sending in his paperwork.
CeeLee Atsch: Nice, up-to-date, clean facility with friendly staff. They could use a few more free evening classes for members. Also, it seems their swimming programming has outgrown their pool. Still, a great asset for the community.
Dave Haney: This is a great YMCA facility, excellent location and friendly, helpful staff.
Dennis Kennedy: Water exercise nice experience
rose milton: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality
Mark Hoy: Tried to use pool again, closed, understaffed, only time I can use do to job and they can't even have it open, very disappointed,, need for physical therapy and can't do with a bunch of kids in the way, all I asked for was 1/2 hour on Tuesdays when it isn't crowded, staff acted as if i didnt count, to busy on computer, website said available but that needs updated, NOT HAPPY AT ALL

North Kansas City YMCA: what do users think?
Kit Waltz: Great pool area and love the water yoga class!
Morgan B: Staff is friendly, facility is clean.
Antonio Rodriguez: The customer service is unreal. One day I can have fantastic customer service.Another day, like today, I can be trying to get a copy of a Member ID Card at 7:54pm but they say they can’t cause their systems are shut down?
Cate Evans: It's a good faculty, but special treatment is given to low income people over paying members. Like, having special hours on the pool. The pool is closed to paying members between 1 and 3, during COVID and still remains in effect in all Kansas City YMCAs. I also use the Y in Platte City and can't use the pool between 1 and 3 for no good reason. Why is this still operating under COVID hours?
Jerry Place: Friendly atmosphere. Not too crowded and not too intense. No judgement and plenty of help if needed. Great place to workout.
Richard Stevens: Nice. Clean. Not crowded
Jim Conway: Clean environment, exercise equipment in good condition, friendly staff.
Amanda Boyers: Best Y for open swim in Kansas City. First, the open swim hours are better. Second, it’s got more amenities than most. Lazy river, hot tub, wet sauna, dry sauna, slides (limited hours), splash park/climbing thing (limited hours). Best place to go with kids of multiple ages. The swim club for kids is great.
Frank Dolci: great facility
Johnny B Goode Music: Today was Absolutely Horrible. A 24 hr Turn around from Super nice to a Horrible Disgrace. Staff could not figure out how to adjust a stable bicycle. Amazing Horrible.
Danielle Gilpin: I love how they are inclusive in hiring special needs adults!
Atlana Johnson: Wonderful place for all ages !
Loraine Castorena: It could be a 5 except the moldy, stank, steam room. I've been wanting to go in since I became a member but I keep waiting for them to clean the mold out of it before I can consider getting in. I joined in December. It's nearly April. It hasn’t been cleaned once during this time.
Mary Hibbard: A life long friend had a birthday party!!Was a nice place to meet..nice and clean, ladies room could of use attention. Over all great place!!
Daniel Bethe: This is the best YMCA of my life. It has a huge open floor plan that’s very inspiring when you see all the possibilities. You see lots of activities and people are spread out with plenty of room. A variety of personal trainers can make long term appointment plans or do a quick orientation tour. Check the website for photos of the amazing pool and river and hot tub. There are activity labs, video games (PS4 and more), 3D printers, computers, and a music recording studio, all maintained by volunteer kids and overseen by staff. Best Buy donated $20,000 of gear so 3D printing is all free even without a membership. There’s a daily food bank because these people all have hearts of gold.
Addyson Trowbridge: Ok
Linda Currid: I love the NKC Y but wish the pool was open later on Saturday (only open until 2!), They would play overhead music and their class schedule was correct. I got up super early to go to a specific class this morning at 5:30 a.m. and it wasn't that class
William Gonzalez: I really love this ymca
Andrew Jensen: Would help if persons answering the phones could answer simple questions rather than hang up on you. Very politely asked if they would ever be going back to pre covid hours as closing at 8 is difficult for people who work late. "No extended hours" was the response and when I rephrase my question I was hung up on. Calling back did no good and there is no place to leave a message. At this point it's absolutely ridiculous to pay as much as we do for such limited hours well beyond any excuse of covid policy.
Sheri Finley: Everyone I have come in contact with has been super friendly. I am working with a personal trainer and I have also participated in a group exercise class. I love it!
Kevin Cronk: Took my two boys here to swim, the schedule said the kid zone was open 9:30-1pm. Showed up at 11am and the kid zone and the slide were closed. We had to swim in a small area next to the hot tub. Then, knowing the kid zone was closed, they wanted to yell at my 4 yr old for wanting to jump off the stairs into the deeper water. 3 more kids showed up to swim while we were there and yet they still refused to open the kid area. Pretty disappointing to say the least. They should stop mentioning the kid area or the slide when they are giving you a tour trying to get your membership since it’s never open or operational.

Genesis Health Clubs - Ward Parkway: what do users think?
Mary Ripma: The Club managers here are beyond great. So friendly and welcoming! It’s also in a convenient location with plenty of equipment.
Terrik: I feel like this location has the best employees so it saddens me to give this negative review. I’m planning on cancelling my membership and I feel like y’all gon be on some shady stuff with the billing. I seen a lot of bad reviews that make it seem like y’all some city girl scammers. If my experience is different, I’ll delete this review no question
james huffman: My favorite club since it was 24 hr Fitness. Gabriel and his team are working hard to keep the equipment working and getting it fixed quickly. Members need to respect the equipment and facilities, and quit breaking things. We have a great gym, and I want it to stay that way.
Sean Solomon: Ok gym, been going here for years. Back when it was 24 hours gym. Only issue l I have is the staff, I was working out one day and one of the staff literally yelled at a member for working out, I though that member was doing something outrageous but all that member was doing was working out. That isn’t how you talk to any adult especially someone who is a member. That almost made me cancel my membership altogether because that can ruin someone workout. People come here to de stress not add stress and get yelled at! Secondly I heard theft might happen here also, I hope that isn’t true because that WILL make me cancel. I will gladly go to Woodside which has everything plus more. Other than that gym is decent. The people that do there are nice.
Adam Wilcox II: Lots of equipment and amenities, polite staff, & nice people. I'm very happy with my memberships. The whirlpool has been down the last 6 months, & doesn't show much sign of improvement in the near future... Staff is epic, which counts for a lot with me.
John Settler: I enjoy going to this gym, and the workers are very nice.
Kris Knaup: This location needs to do a thorough review of their manager or finance specialist and see where all the money’s going. Charging $80 a month to a few hundred people and 0/8 of the mens showers work. Either someone’s pocketing the money or this location is very cheap. Take care of your people that are paying your bills and making sure you have a paycheck smh. If you want a new manager or financial specialist get in contact. There should be some accountability
Some Guy: It's 'ok'. Lifetime Fitness facilities are light years more advanced and definitely cleaner. But they close at 10pm. Genisis is open 24 hrs almost every day.
Aaron Lewis: This is a platinum gym.. This is an absolute disgrace that your manger of this club does not take pride in the club he is running, and he is only worried about signing new members. I have addressed my concerns about issues to the young man and he shakes them off!! I am not sure how you guys can move this club to a platinum gym when you have mold growing in your steam room,in multi places, exposed wires, and a hot tub that’s been out of order for months. Lisa is phenomenal and does the absolute best she can,but the upper management is a joke
Miasha: I thought I was the only one scammed by genesis but based on these reviews I wasn’t the only one. Originally went in for a 3 days pass. Person told me I could get a month to month membership if I signed up today. Once I signed up I began getting weird messages about needing a trainer and calls literally every time I would leave the gym and not generated auto messages . Typed out messages paragraphs. It was very weird I asked at least 10 other people if they got the same messages they all said no. I also didn’t know you were able to take a customer personal information for their system and call & text them either. Seems like a breach in security but once I tried to cancel what I thought was a month to month membership. I was told I was in a 6 month contract and i would get a call back . The people in their “headquarters” do not ever call back so don’t wait on a call back you’ll have to keep calling. Because I kept getting charged 50$ for over 9 months . Luckily they gave me a refund for 200$ for the months outside of the contract. But this place is a complete scam. They just want your money and will hassle you even when they know it is an employee issue and not a customer issue. I will never ever go back to genesis they do not care about their customers
Serina Rowan: This was my home gym when I started working out at 24 hour fitness.
Lori Kaleikau: Great staff. Friendly environment.
Cassie Cunningham: I used to love going here.. now the gym is so insanely crowded that I can’t actually workout. Customer service is terrible and couldn’t help me cancel my membership, instead charged my account for 2 months.. called back the first time and they told me it was a yearly fee and I wouldn’t get any more payments. Called back the second time they charged me and they denied that I ever cancelled my account and made me come back in to talk to the manager and wouldn’t give me a refund. Miscommunications with customer service shouldn’t happen because that’s literally their job
James Kor: I would not go here if it wasn't the closest gym to me. The AC system isn't able to handle the heat in the summer. Over crowded and over priced. Genesis markets itself as a "high end" gym. This may be true for other locations, but this locations always has dirty men's bathrooms, there are always puddles of urine by the urinals. Dirt/rust comes off on the rags you'll use to clean barbells. About 15% of the equipment is in disrepair or broken. They have two water fountains, but one has been broken for two months now. Clientele typically keep to them selves, but there seems to be a trend of people speaking overly loud on their airpods or with work out partners, typically the ones who are there for more than general fitness.
Damien Kimble: Lisa was very helpful with my account. Made updating payment information easy and fun. Very Professional! Nice Job!
Alexis Neal: The prices are lies and months after cancelling they still drafted funds from my bank.
Jorgeorozco3000: I checked the schedule and it said open 24 hours. When I arrive I find that it is closed. it was really frustrating because i drove 30 min.
Tina M Harrison: I AM DISABLED WITH 13 DEFECTIVE INTERBODY SPINAL CORD IMPLANTS IMBEDDED IN MY SPINAL COLUMN I HAVE SEIZURES EVERY TIME I CALL OUT THERE TO MAKE SURE THE POOL AND STEAM ROOM IS OPEN 😭🗣️ BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN STRANDED FOR 3 HRS HAVING MILD SEIZURES WHEN I GOT THERE AND THEY CLOSED THE POOL, SO I CALL THEM FIRST AND THIS BLACK YOUNGER SISTAHS JUST SAID UGHGGGG TO ME WHEN I ASKED THEN CRYING 😭 I HAD TO EXPLAIN MYSELF SHE KNOWS WHO I AM SHE IS MEAN TOWARDS MY ENERGY AND VIBRATION IS HURTFUL, JUST NOW HER ATTITUDE IS HURTFUL 😭😭😭😭😭😭🗣️🗣️🗣️😖😖😖😖😖
Sparkle Davis: Went in for a free trial at 9pm the black lady left around 10:30 pm the black lady was very rude and unwelcoming. The first set of staff w when I first came in was also unwelcoming. Extremely disappointed in the customer service here and after looking at the reviews seems to have been an issue for a while. I will just stick to planet fitness
Debra Washington: This place charged my account for a year after I had already closed my account…. This place stole from me……,
Hugo Ochoa: Creo que los horarios deben mejorar entre los días viernes y sábado cerrar a las 10 una locura y hay algunos que cierran a las 9 creo que deben alargar el tiempo

Providence YMCA/Ball Family Center: what do users think?
Kent Bridges: Great little gym with a very friendly staff. Danny is an awesome director. Vivian and Brandy set me up with my membership and they are two of the kindest individuals I've ever met! GREAT trainers too.
yvonne castor hart: Very clean and friendly people who work and volunteer there. It's also to hot in there when working outI'm a fat woman and need more air flow plzzzz
Alfredo Justiniani: Solo hacen falta empleados hispanos para obtener más información pero en general está aceptable
Deja King: Is there a basketball court ?
Brian G: New member, my daughter got hand/foot/mouth within the first three days of going to the in house Daycare. Kids are kids and have their slobber and germs. The real reason for the low rating, is that there's one family bathroom in the pool area. It's not being watched, individuals without kids are going in there alone and using it as their personal bathroom. I'm forced to change my 2 year old daughter in the mens locker room in full exposure of her and them. I brought this to the attention of the very very very young individuals at the front desk and they couldn't care less. Gave me the number to call the director.....which ended up being the number to the front desk.So if you hate privacy, and don't like family friendly environments then this is the place for you!
Luke Fraelich: Great for seniors, not so great for younger crowd. Schedule is not up to date. Court is dirty. Staff is friendly and polite. Too many rules for my taste.
Kevin Thompson: Don't rely on the app because they never update the pool hours.
Robert Dorsey: It was a very good short workout and I am going to get better .
James Hawkins: Danny is the best manager! He runs a great place by promoting healthy lifestyles and positive attitudes.
Bryan DePriest: It's really a great place the staff are very friendly and helpful and there's always someone there to give you healthy advice
Ted G: Nice facility-Denise is an awesome instructor!
Carrie Milkanin: Love the facility. The pool is nice and warm. Only disappointment was I attended an advertised Zumba Dance Fitness class and half the class was core work requiring members to get out a mat and down to the floor. I came to dance and was disappointed. It was the regular Zumba instructor, Suzie. She was friendly, but also used weights and again, it wasn’t advertised as Zumba Toning or Strong Nation, which are the only two Zumba formats that allow weights or floor work.
Adam Brooks (Liem Drake): Mostly I go to this YMCA since it's close to home that they only have a few exercise bikes and by now most of the treadmills they have are not actually working right and still able to get my workout in.
Jonathan Grady: My favorite workout center when in Kansas City, Kansas area.
Malia Estrada Neale: Morning crew is sadly so rude and took my son to child care for the first time during the morning and was crying literally not even 5 min and the person watching him in child care took him out of the room and told me to come for him bc he wouldnt stop crying. Also had a lady tell me i cant have my son sitting where im working out due to safety but again child care doesnt want to watch my son due to crying. So much for a family gym facility. I pay extra so that my son could go to child care so that we get denied. Again super disappointed. Never had a problem with evening shift but due to my schedule change i had to start coming mornings and all i can say is im truly disappointed on how enployees treat there clients.
Vicki Slater: It's a great place for anyone who wants to go work out
Harold Chancellor: Love it
Mimis Pink: You would think they are nice enough to help out a struggling family with a discount obviously I'm not making enough if I'm on food stamps and I showed a letter from what I made the year from Irs.but some rude lady named Vivion with a hard to understand accent kept making it super difficult for me not even trying to help whatsoever asking for me to go through so much trouble to notorize so many things basically wanting to make it hard for anyone like it was coming out of her pocket.. Aren't these facilities promoting wellness for families? For the public to be more healthy? ymca isn't what it used to be. The staff before were so pleasant and nice it felt like family. I'm very upset. This Vivion person needs to have better training because she was awful.
Barbara Alcala: I went up to register my silver sneakers membership and 2 people at the desk but only one actually helping people. There were no brochures for any of the pool sessions I was told to use my phone and take my own picture for reference, after much looking they were able to provide a list and times of classes. Half way through the enrollment I left as the person flitting here and there left me to help the other person at the desk, I thought she worked there but she really didn't help anyone she just sat there looking at the computer. The person that was helping me seemed very confused and disorganized...not a great experience. Will give the facility a try but not expecting to much from the place....
John C: Great place for swim

Lenexa Rec Center Pool: what do users think?
Dave Bond: Nice
Susan Morton: Grandsons are taking swim lessons. They are loving it!
Vicky Braswell: Beautiful Facility...We always have a Great Time at the Indoor Pool.
Curtis James: We were excited to come here but after actually using the gym and pool, we will be cancelling. Its overcrowded and the machines are bad. Its obvious that this place was designed by someone who has never worked out a day in their life. No duplicate machines, so be prepared to wait. Missing the essential machines. No hammer (plate loaded) machines. No pec-deck (what???).Pool actually doesn't open until 1200 every day, they fail to explain that when touring. Its only open to lessons prior to that. So don't plan on coming here in the AM.No sauna. They have a pool(s) and showers attached to the locker room, but no sauna. Very odd for a rec center-- but par for the course.Facility is well maintained and has a nice location, but overall its pretty useless. Parking is a huge pain on the weekends with events. This is not a gym, and its only a part-time pool.
Nohemi Guzman: Clean and organized
Rita Bradley: Perfect graduation party! Great amenities, covered garage and fantastic staff ❤️
Kathy Whiteley: Had great fun time! Staff was great, and made us feel safe so we could relax and enjoy ourselves.
Natalie May: Always clean facilities and friendly staff!
Heidi Corzine: This is a great place to take your kids to swim, take classes like basketball or tumbling ECT. Very clean and a load of fun.
Ashton Ukah: W basketball
Mike McZee: Top notch facility with a friendly and helpful staff. Well worth a visit to their aquatic facility any time of the year but also an amazing option during the fall and winter months.
Alexander: I should add more info here. I gave this 4 stars because it is pretty good but not perfect for me. As a young adult, who is trying to get the most out of workouts, it fits most of my needs. I usually do free weights or cables for all my workouts. Amount of racks, benches, and dumbbells is good. Only thing I'd add is a bigger crossfit section or more cable machines. However, this is very personal though. At its price, it cannot be beat. Any othe gym would be charging double. So maybe less equipment is okNow if I had a family, or viewed this review from a family perspective, this would be 5 stars. Have a day care, good classes for young kids, tons of machines, courts, and swimming. I would especially love to drop off my kids while I workout and come get them on the way out. All this for a great price. If you have a family, you should go to this gym. There is no competitionDo not go on holidays during the school year. Parents drop off their kids to roam unsupervised here, messing with about everything from the pool, locker room, and weights while the staff allows it
Lloyd Shum: Nice basketball court, and nice gym.
Frank Kean: Amazing staff. Friendly and helpful.
Bill Joey: Amazing place great exercise great employees.
Steve Gizzl: Visiting my daughter and need a place to work out.Great leg machines and any other machine you could think of. Free weights galore. I wish it was in my neighborhood!
Michael Pearson: Has all of the equipment needed for a good workout. Has two flats benches for bench press, one for incline as well as 4 power racks. There are always plenty of free benches and dumbbells. If you want to workout without a wait go later in the evening when kids are at home.During the holidays it was very busy but still remained clean.
Michael Young: Great place to play Pickleball!!
Raven Peer: The place has a lot of stuff: gym, basketball courts, lots of classes, 2 different temperature pools. Has a babysitting area (not super sure about age and other limits I don't use it.) I use it mainly for pickleball and working out classes are nice and throughout the day so it doesn't matter when you have free time. It's not 24/7 so unfortunate for the late shift people. No sauna or steam room for those that prefer those. Both the lower and upper play every day of the week and it's paddle stack for rotation. For pickleball the first floor rotating group is from 5am-8am roughly and the upstairs/2nd floor starts roughly about 7:30 am- at least 12. It can go longer easily but people pause for lunch or it may cut off early because of court rentals or depending on the day. You can start as early as 5 am and play most of the day(decreasing fairly linearly to Friday). The lower/first floor is very adhesive so balls that spin kick a lot more than usual. (Some players have taken to using outdoor balls to minimize the kick). The 2nd floor is a gym floor so it skids slightly and the sun can be problematic on the second floor for about 10-20 minutes as it comes through at a perfect angle to blind some players. This happens at around 11:30am depending on the time of year. Otherwise, this place is an awesome place for learning to medium level players. If you're an advanced+ person maybe grab a 4some or mentally be prepared not to play all out.
Todd Wyss: Fun place for bday party. Little party room, then the kids get to play in the water park. Huge, clean, changing bathrooms
Simon Jordan: The place also the water is super cold. Staff are not responsive to our request.

Merriam Community Center: what do users think?
emjustine15: We love the pool, but they have strict rules. I understand it’s a liability but the wouldn’t let us use the floatie we brought for our baby, which is irritating. They have life jackets available but no infant ones so I just had to carry him around the whole time
Lilianna Partelow: Good parking. The new library is building nicely. Everyone is super friendly.
Alexandemi Hernandez: Good
Angelica Ramirez: Went to a bday party this past weekend. Twice during the allotted party "pool time" everyone was asked to get out the main pool for a cleaning which lasted about 30-35 mins each time. This caused the kiddie pool to have more kids than the posted capacity during these times. Pool staff were also unprofessional in handling the situation.
Jasmine Varela: My Family had a kids birthday party on 4/15/23. It wasn’t the experience we expected. Unfortunately there was a kid that was throwing up, but supposedly “wasn’t sick” so they asked everyone to get out of the pool. The kid goes back in the pool after the fact and it happens again. Everyone had to get out once again. All in all very poor management very rude and inconsiderate lifeguard. “Head lifeguard” at that. Head life guard was trying to start conflict instead of resolving anything. She decided it was a great idea to bring the mother of the kid that was throwing up to yell at my cousin! Very unprofessional and ridiculous. Neither staff nor anyone involved had a concern for the public’s health. The front desk staff doesn't even know any lifeguards names, there really needs to be better policies/procedures or some type of audit to decrease poor behavior and negligence of health and safety.
William “VasilyZaitsev” Warren: Lovely newer facility with great amenities. Very clean and friendly place to play, workout, and SWIM! GREAT INDOOR POOL!
Patricia McCreary: Kids had fun! Pool is clean! Staff is friendly. The pool is not deep and is not super big. However my 9 year olds loved it. My 13 year olds got out the pool in about 30 mins and went to the gym. So I would definitely say the indoor pool is probably best for ages 10 and under.
Debra Mammadova: I wanted to share both my experience of this facility and the employees; they are both spectacular. The facility is clean, family friendly, large and spacious. The gym could have more machines, but it definitely is large and spacious and always clean, which is very appreciated. I also like the track to be able to walk in space, I hate treadmills and cardio indoors. One of the main reasons I joined here was the pool which is great for the range of areas they have. I have a preschooler and he enjoys the therapy pool, the lazy River, and the slide and shallow area. They also have laps and a basketball hoop. It’s so great during the winter to have this resource, and we use the pool 1-2 times a week. They also have a great outdoor pool during summer. I would say I come here 3-5 times a week for the gym. Main downside is I wish they were 24 hours, but I understand them not doing this. I think the family membership is a great value and I am not a merriam resident.Secondly, I want to compliment the employees. They are all very pleasant and kind in my experience. The Child Watch employees are great with my son and he calls childwatch “playing with the kids!” In addition, I have seen an employee interacting with a parent who did not pick up her child by the closing time of childwatch. She was so kind about it and really encouraged the mom to take time for self care, which was super heart warming as a fellow mom.Lastly, this place serves as a warming center for many homeless individuals during the winter. They go above and beyond being a community center and really set the bar high.
Dan Powell: Very nice place, lots of room for the Christmas party I attended
Kyle Tritsarolis: An amazing facility! We went for breakfast with Santa and will definitely be returning. The staff was incredibly friendly.
Calista Martin: A great place to work out and I love the rotating art
Jess Ward: My child takes a class with Coach Wendy. I’m here to praise her! She is a fun coach! She does an awesome job for young kiddos learning structure. I am impressed with her patience, communication and compassion. What a great lady. Good job MCC finding her.
RPG Reviews: Great Aikido Yoshinkan classes on Saturday for kids and adults. Great low cost martial art option!!!!!
Kristin Andrades: I took the little boy I nanny to his swimming lesson here today. This was his second lesson. The swim teacher was very nice. It's a great place for little ones to learn water safety and it's very affordable at $25 per one, one on one session.
Irene Garcia: Clean friendly fun for everyone of all ages
Bill Hurd: Beautiful new facility. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Jessica Lowers: From the time my family got to the indoor pool we kept getting glares but we ignored it. After a few minutes we started seeing a pattern of our kids getting whistles some warranted some didn’t make any sense so we started watching the guards and realized what our kids would do and get whistles the other (caucasian) kids were allowed to do with no problem. Now I didn’t want to bring race into anything until after a hour and a half later my nephew swallowed water (he’s 2) and threw up a quarter amount on the concrete. Once the life guards realized he threw up they made a big scene flapping hands and going back and forth talking to each other then glaring back at us shaking their heads. They must’ve been real annoyed because I kept getting pointed at until a guard came over asking if my leggings were compression leggings to which I said no they’re swim leggings and asked him why he didn’t say anything over an hour ago and he kept saying “we don’t allow compression leggings” finally my white partner said “she bought them offline and they ARE swim leggings” he said “oh really?” At that point I was so upset a so I walked away. My partner kept talking to him and ask why he didn’t approach my sister (also white) when she had the same pair of leggings on and only approached the ONLY black women in the pool and he said he was specifically sent to question me. The lady teaching the infants swim class refused to answer our questions about swim class but had no problem talking with the other customers. We’re all human and no one should be singled out and treated like this!
Phillip Boleyn: Well maintained and clean
Kelly Estis: Great place to host an event lots of room
Emily: I don’t usually post comments but this parking situation was so absurd I felt like I needed to say something. We went to the kids open gym. My 3 and 18 month old had fun. It was clean and everyone was nice.My complaint is about how far the parking lot is. It would’ve take me a good 3 minutes by myself so toting 2 toddlers took even longer. We mostly do indoor activities when the weather is bad and, while I appreciate that they have the open gym, I’m not sure it’s worth the hassle to get there. My 3 year old was crying by the time we made it in because it was windy and there were snow flurries. Even the handicap parking is really far. Whoever designed it was clearly far more concerned about looks than practicality. The outside area is nice but to put the main entrance that far back was just not logical. I understand you need to regular who is coming in so you can’t open side doors but there needs to be a bad weather plan where an attendant is there.May or may not be back depending on just how bad the weather is.
Cathy Sallee: Had my granddaughter's birthday here it was awesome the pool was warm in the party room was well decorated and it was priced very reasonable

Genesis Health Clubs – North Overland Park: what do users think?
Katelyn Keeney: Friendly staff and great equipment! I highly recommend this location.
Connor Smith: This location has a lot of new updates that I am looking forward too! The new general manager has gone out of his way to introduce himself to everyone that walks through the door and discuss the exciting new additions coming to this location and provide guidance on when the updates should be done. I’d definitely recommend this location for anyone looking for a new gym. Plus they have two outdoor pools for the summer! A+
Alan Weaver: Great staff, great facility!
Sarah Thomas: Love this location!
Matthew Bowles: Fav health club in the area!!!
Simon Joly: Great gym!
Isaac Tamayo: Great gym! Jordan was a well man!!
Anthony Becerra: Jordan was an absolute stud, amazing gym highly recommend
Jonathan Ator: Overall mid.The touch points could use some replacement. The weights are strewn around like a bunch of old legos.I don’t think the floors have ever had any sort of wet cleaning.
Mike Pirner: I really enjoyed this gym in the Prairie Life days - back then, the hours went to midnight and they had a full basketball court. Then "The Athletic Club" made a mess of things and went to 10 p.m. and the basketball court was cut in half. I've inquired before and was told the plan was to go back to midnight after covid and they were discussing bringing back the full court - neither have appeared to happen, so not a member for now.
J S: The facility is old and moldy and I canceled my membership a few month ago but they still charge my account and haven’t got money back for extra charges. I don’t think I will be a member.
Mike Elliott (fruitygangles): They must be paying people for good reviews or something. There's just a permanent sign up about one of the front doors being broken, with no apparent plans to fix it. Their dryer is always broken so you have to bring your own towels from home. At least half of the showers are out of order, with no plans to fix them. Do you see the pattern here? You're paying monthly to workout in absolute garbage conditions and the way these managers operate is truly despicable. FIX YOUR GYM AND START RESPECTING YOUR PATRONS.
Cameron Hunter: Joined because they have a basketball court. Was told that they would be doing renovations but until then would keep the court maintained… they haven’t. I have requested the nets to be fixed 5 times. I even had to bring a ladder myself to fix them twice. Now this is what they look like.
Brisendine Fam: Rodney’s Zumba classes have really helped me get back my strength and balance. I have been able to go on crazy hikes and started running again. All because of Rodney’s classes. He has great energy and is alway positive. It doesn’t matter how uncoordinated I am he makes it super fun. Thank you Rodney.
Dee Brown: Great customer service. Top of the line amenities. Great equipment. A++
Shantez Brown: Enrolled during a special , well a day after but I was told I would still get the rate of the special at $76/mo . During enrollment I paid around $80. A week later I was charged $90 & told that I was paying for the month and the week before was a prorated amount . I haven’t been at this gym longer than a month to be being charged for a month . I spoke with Ryan who advised he would speak with his manager about maybe not charging me until April 1st. No one called back I called a few more times . He advised the manager wasn’t available offered free thing. Said he would call back & nothing . Cool gym but the taxes and fees are a bit much . If you are charged incorrectly they may not be able to do anything. Other than that it’s okay .
Davis Frick: They have all the equipment you might need whether starting out or pursuing the ultimate fitness goals. Great service and the helpful people here would happily do their best to make this the best gym out there.
Sharath Reddy: I have been visiting Genesis gym on and off for couple years now. I had a very bad experience with one of the location in Overland Park, KS.I asked them to close my account from June in May because I was traveling out of country for couple months in June. There was no proper person handling the closing the account. I kept mailing them about the closure. Once I am back from my vacation, I saw the account is still active. When I confronted them. The management was completely changed and they were not at all helpful and in fact blaming me that I might have forgotten about cancellation , that was very humiliating. I know I am not going to get my 150$ back but hopefully someone else can read this and avoid this location.Every time I went and asked in person the new manager keeps telling I will call you back and he never does. It is so disrespectful that he keeps on lying to my face.
michiah frayer: Best place ever
Brian Stanton: Jaylen is the best and the gym is clean and very nice equipment. Come by and check it out.

Genesis Health Clubs - Overland Park: what do users think?
Jill Carroll: Incredible customer service. The Front Desk and Membership Staff were very patient with me when I had questions regarding fees for adding members to my account.I love the Group X classes! The instructors I have experienced are highly qualified and bring a lot of energy to the class.
Travis French: Great Gym
Chris Garcia: The equipment its in really bad conditions!!
Kayla James: Love this gym! The have the best daycare and I know my baby is always safe. The equipment is always clean and taken care of and every staff member I have met is the sweetest. Definitely come to this gym.
Dakota James: Best place to work out! staff and child care is super trustworthy and amazing people watching the kids
Scott G: Pictures of broken/ripped stuff. 5/15/23This is a very busy gym and equipment which is out of order makes it even busier
Gage herron: Justin helped me today, and was super friendly, and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend this gym to anyone of any experience level, they have something for everyone.
Blain o: Justin H. Was extremely helpful and it’s such a pleasure him assisting me in getting a one-week pass while I was in town for a funeral, he went above and beyond to help me.
Thomas McTaggart: Justin H. was very helpful for accommodating my brother and I in getting a one week pass while visiting from out of town. He went above and beyond making it easy to be able to workout at a great facility. Thanks!
Kyle S Beets: Constantly out of towels, and I am told that I can only have 1 towel? I was sold on this membership because they said I could have two towels so that I could use their steam room and shower afterwards. Now I have to choose to only use one of these amenities a day. False advertising. This towel issue happens far too often with them.
Kevin Vo: Justin is great
Michael Hockey: Our Country Club was using the pool as Swim Team preparation. This required signing the children up to short term membership. To cancel they force you to drive to the club, during week days in business hours. My advice always use a burner pre paid credit card & ditch it when you want out.
Thandi Powell: 🔥 Best gym for single, married and family. You can workout, swim, sauna (wet &dry) , tennis, eat, Wi-Fi for work, get a facial ( has a spa) , cocktail / lounge bar area- great place to wait & watch during tennis events or just a quick bite after a workout. Some parents drive 45 to get here because the have Match Play. Maybe a good safe place to meet someone for drinks. They have all the needs of any fitness level. Too much to post at one time will add more video on a regular.
JB 2020: This is a lovely facility, clean & well maintained, with abundant and varied equipment, and very accommodating staff. Really nice lap lanes & hot tub. We will keep going back!
Mike Budd: Great experience! Friendly and helpful staff, too.
Cameron Calabrese: Beautiful gym, pool, and locker rooms. Love it here! Best gym in Kansas City! Especially the pool, I always find a lane to swim laps in and it is new and perfect!
Cole McMullen: Jennifer and Jerry were extremely helpful with getting me a day pass. The facilities were extremely nice would highly recommend if you are a beginner or a serious lifter.
Serina Rowan: Love this location!! Staff, service equipment 👍🙌 The OM here truly cares for the people who walk in that door.
Mia Rocha: I had such an amazing facial experience with Veronica Morales. My face started feeling so great just minutes in. It was so nice and relaxing. My skin feels amazing. Nice and rejuvenated. She is very knowledgeable and I love her vibes. I highly recommend her. She is the only esthetician I will let touch my face. I already booked a facial for next month.
Melissa Valle: This review is for the spa. I recently had a wax appointment with Veronica and I can say it was the most smooth going waxing I’ve ever had done! She was extremely professional and the vibes were elite. Will be going back to see her again for every service she has to offer! Absolutely recommend I would add a photo but you might fall in love lol
J Pointer: I highly recommend Veronica for a facial. She hydrated my dry skin, deep cleansed my pores & did all the right things to my face. Definitely going back to her regularly!

Olympic Gym Kansas City: what do users think?
Jay Seabrook: Heaven on Earth. I'm staying here until I move or die
Lydia McEvoy: Fantastic gym meant for serious weight lifters. Wonderful environment with great accomodations. Best gym in kc
Corbin Stonum: Amazing environment, great people and great employees, the people care about others. There’s a worker in there, I think his name is Jake but anyway he is incredibly friendly and will give you tips on form to help you become better.
Yusleidy Suarez: Staff isn't as friendly as they used to be. The housekeeping is really poor in the whole gym in general but especially in the bathrooms. The broken machines take really long to get fixed. Some personnel that work there get involved in gossiping and mistreatment (personal experience). It really has changed since I started working out here, especially since last year. I still love this gym, but now I don't feel comfortable anymore when I go there. My husband and I were very excited to find this place when we did, and now it is very disappointing 😞The 24-hour access doesn't work for everybody the same. If u have acrylic nails, it won't work, or your hand would have to be scanned every time you get your nails done or if u don't use it for over a week and the personnel look like they got tired of scanning peoples hands and they just stopped doing it. Now, whenever I go, I have to wait outside for someone with access so I can get in. I used to call this the best gym ever, a real gym. Nowadays, not so much, it is still a good gym but needs a lot of improvements. Some of the people that work there look at you like you're less than them and like you don't deserve to be treated like a person (rude) like they have something personal against you. I really hope this changes soon and this place goes back to be the way it was.
Soraya Signorina: Great gym for serious lifters. All the equipment you'd look for in a lifting gym and a great cardio choice as well.
Elizabeth Fowler: Love this gym, has 3 huge areas and all of the equipment I could possibly need/want. Very nice administrative people and I like the members. I finally feel at home. My only concern is the the cleaning crew... is there one? That being said, I am definately going to join as soon as I get back from my work travel next month.
stephen powell: Great place to get a great workout in!
Nathan Knight: Instafluencers have overpopulated the gym with their tripods, videos, and endless need for validation. Half the machines don’t work and the most used machines are always in short supply and/or in use. The sauna has toenails in there since being put in and the bathrooms both smell and look atrocious. Gym etiquette is also out the window. There is a growing amount of peeps there that would rather pose/flex with their shirts off in front of the mirrors and invade your personal space during peak hours than even for a second consider someone other than themselves. Huge culture change there in the last year
William Foster: Cancelled a distinguished services member’s membership without notice. Just days after paying! This is outrageous.
L L: This used to be the best gym in KC but has gone downhill so much. Most of the new staff doesn't care and never cleans, the whole place is really dirty, machines are always broken, the bathrooms rarely get cleaned, and they raised the price after installing a sauna that is usually too dirty and crowded to even use.
Carson Oetting: Everything about this gym is phenomenal! The members are all very friendly and supportive, they have equipment to cater to virtually any training style, and that staff is very helpful and knowledgeable! I travel a little ways to get to this gym and it’s worth every second of the drive!
Kevin Stalder: Don't go here if you think you'll ever need to cancel your membership. I no longer live in the area so I needed to cancel my membership over the phone. Not only did the manager I spoke to agree to end my membership, he agreed not to hold me to the 30 day notice that would have put me a couple days into the next month.Several months later I saw I was still being charged. I called again, received an apology, and was told it would be dealt with. I called again to double check a week before the next charge took place and was told my membership was STILL active. Thankfully the employee remembered me and gave me his word the membership would end immediately (third time's the charm).I imagine the original manager who agreed to cancel my membership simply got busy and forgot to put it in the system after the initial call. However, when I asked the employee about receiving a credit for their mistake the manager would not even get on the phone with me. All calls were cordial, so he had no reason not to speak to me and correct the situation other than sheer laziness and embarrassment about his mistake. No refund was given and I am out hundreds of dollars for his failure. The gym itself is simply not worth the risks involved with dealing with that type of leadership. Go somewhere you can trust.
Antony J: Wonderful gym with 24/7 access and lot of free weights.Only complaint would be some members that superset during peak hours in the morning and evening. This prevents other people from using those machines.Maybe the management should kick these people out.
Andrew Stuehmer: Amazing gym! Love the atmosphere
D24_57: Gym is legit! 24 hr accesiblity and they have eeeevreything you want and need! They even have a sauna now! This gym CANT be beat!
Grim: Best gym in KC.
Anna Hilterbrand: Went to check this gym out today. And it did not disappoint, called the day before to get a tour. They picked up the phone very quick. And told me to come in around 8-2. Took a tour and was sold in 5 minutes. Mya was incredibly helpful and very kind. I signed up for a membership. The check in system is very safe. And I look forward to continuing my journey here.
TBunz Bunz: All the weights....reasonably priced....24hrs!
Shelby Bertini: The best gym north of the river!
Cameron MacDonald: Great place to workout! Has all the equipment i need and it is well maintained. They recently got a sauna! The staff is friendly and make you feel welcome.

Gorman pool: what do users think?
Mike L: How can one of the nicest pools in the northland never be open???
Bob Wolff: only OPEN on June 12 - August 22...?what a WASTE of taxpayer dollars and park land - who RUNS this place!!!
Jeremy B: Nice pool with a playground nearby.
Elaina: No kids pool or slides but good if your kiddos have puddle jumpers or swim vests. They do have some vests there. The minimum depth is 4 ft.
Christi K: Beautiful, clean water! Bigger and Better than the YMCA, indoor pool, where I learned to swim 47years ago, on this same property. :-)
Andrew Rice: A nice large outdoor pool, pretty well kept. It would be nice if they had more area for lap swimming.
Linda Alvarez: Tried to go to this pool on the last day of the season, Aug 22nd. Pool open at 12noon. I got there around 215pm and aproximadamente 25-30 people swimming already. At 220pm a male employee pulled in and began screaming and yelling at everyone - telling them to leave immediately because the pool was closed !!
living deadgirl: I will change my one star when im reimbursed for the visits we prepaid for and now the pool has been closed for days. Today was our last day to redeem them now i feel we were robbed not fair.
Kim Randolph: The best
christi golding: Love this little hidden gem
Isabella Gerling: Very nice size! Super friendly and helpful!
Shirl Maldonado: Wonderful cheap fun
Sheri Wright: The pool is big. The water and place is always clean. The staff are nice. The season and daily passes are cheap. They offer swim lessons. We love it here!
Mario 9000: Nice pool, good admission price. It's a big 50m pool and it's well taken care of. My only complaint is people playing in the only lap lane.
Naomi McCaffery: Loved it here my 4 month old had a wonderful time
Lanessa Lucas: Fun experience
Katie Mccaffery: Only 1 dollar to get in my husband and I took our 4 month old and he absolutely loved it we will definitely be coming back.
Sarah C: Very nice large pool. We have a good time for the most part. The reason I'm giving three stars is because of the hospitality at this location. The front desk assistant and the life guards are very rude. They have poorly trained staff. My family feels somewhat uncomfortable going here so to the staff having no kind customer service skills. We have never experienced an personal issues here, it is just the way that they talk to you and act. They are blunt, rude, unmanerful and unfriendly. Other then that the pool is usually clean, and comfortable. The price you pay is 3 dollars a person and two and under are free. This is a wonderful price for this nice pool.
Dayton Borisouth: This is a very nice pool employees are kind and the people are friendly. If you are just looking for a nice place to swim with the friends or family and you are looking for a cheap place to fit your budget come here! It’s only 3 dollars a person and they have warm showers🚿
Anna Lauren: Beware- the kids here steal. Ill never be back. Glad i only lost $5 but its the principle.
Majic Williams: The pool was very awesome there was enough space for everybody to swim around and you have fun good place to take the family!
