Betsy Mattison: Can’t believe I’ve lived in this city my whole life and just now tried Eddie V’s. You can tell by the abundance of staff that they take their business very seriously. From valet to our waitress, everything was excellent. Lobster tacos, crab cake, patron margarita and king crab legs were all top notch. I hate we don’t remember our waitresses name because she was lovely and deserves recognition for her great service. We will be back soon, thanks for making our anniversary extra special!

Princesses of the 417 Company: Beautiful inviting atmosphere, very upscale but not too stiff. Erica was our phenomenal waiter, but all of the staff was efficient and kind/courteous. The food and dessert was perfect. My 5 year old remarked that the restaurant was so fancy and he wished he was wearing and bowtie. Erica emerged moments later with her own bowtie from her uniform and put it on him. It made him feel so special. The whole experience was over the top and wonderful, our bellies and hearts are full!

Tom Dougherty: Super professional staff all around. The Front of house got us checked in and appeared to move everyone through quite efficiently. Our server Steven went the extra mile to take care of us. My wife got queasy about the time we arrived, and he saved the experience for us. I think 5s all around are appropriate. Tuna was great, scallops were solid. Drinks were on point (with some of Steven's advice/ executive decision making)

Alexa Savka: We came here to celebrate Father’s Day and my son’s 4th birthday. There was no wait, our server greeted us right away, and everything was amazing. The atmosphere was perfect, my husband got to watch the US Open and enjoy a cold beer while I had a lavender martini. The Poké Nachos are to die for. I highly recommend their Vampire Tacos and a cup of Tomato Bisque. It’s velvety and delicious and hits the spot every time. The tacos have amazing texture and flavor. My husband said his Korean BBQ Philly was incredibly good. Definitely get truffle fries when you go too. Overall it was an excellent experience and we will be back again and again. I haven’t had any issues ever when going here and it’s never overly busy.

M. Andre Hatchett: The air conditioning being being out or serviced should have been the first red flag. We’ve frequented this location previously and had pleasant experience, but this will be our last. The location was sparsely patronized on this evening (almost as if they weren’t open for business) - that said, after being seated our server who was also double tasked as the bartender walked past us multiple times. After being alerted by another server, finally acknowledged us and said he didn’t see us. After taking our order and after another 5-10 mins, I flagged him down to request the complimentary bread while we waited - his sarcastic response “oh, you want bread - you want some bread” as if he had a personal issue and wanted a problem. At that moment I cancelled our order and closed our tab for the soft drinks. There are too many options in KC metro for me to ever return.

Caramel Cube: UNACCEPTABLE!!! Upon arriving for our reservation, we were not greeted and the restaurant was hot as the ac is down. It took the hostess about 15min to even come back and seat us even though there were only about 7 tables in use and a few people at the bar. Once seated, we were given 2 menus for a reservation of 5, and also noticed most of the empty tables around us had not been bussed in quite some time. After about 10min, our server came by and said she'd bring water; we never saw her again. Another 10min passes and the "manager" brings us bread and water, and said a server would come take our order. It took about 15min for that to even happen. We ordered drinks, which were inconsistent and missing ingredients. After the drinks came we were finally able to order Appetizers and entrees. The Appetizers arrived about 6min before the entrees, so there wasn't much time to enjoy them. Although the Appetizers were on point, the entrees lacked flavor and seemed as though they were just thrown together. Our server was nowhere to be found throughout the meal. Nobody checked on us, refilled our water, asked if everything was good, NOTHING. When the server finally came back we decided to get dessert to go (this was about 9pm). For the next hour our server brought us 8 wrong tickets every 15min or so. I asked for the manager and was told he was "super busy" (there's now about 4 tables in use and 2 people at the bar). After asking for the manager 4 times, he shows up 40min later. Surprisingly it's the guy that brought the bread. I'm not even sure he was really the manager though, as his hygiene was not up to par. He went ahead and comped a couple of the desserts to "make it right". After that, it still took our server 20min to process our check so we could leave. I finally made it home to try and enjoy my tiramisu, however; it wasn't even prepared with lady fingers! Whatever type of sheet cake they used was over soaked which led the dessert to have zero integrity... All in all, THIS RESTAURANT RUINED MY BIRTHDAY and I will NEVER return!.

The lobby was packed with about 50 p*ssed off people. No control over the situation. Customers going through and manipulating the hostess's terminal. We wait at the bar for our reservation time. Bartender is having an extremely bad shift and it's obvious because it shows and he is complaining and p*ssed off. We are amazingly seated not long after our reservation time. Restaurant is very dirty, is hot and muggy. Extremely understaffed. We order 2 appetizers, first one comes out right away, the second comes out at the same time as our dinner. Wife never got her salad that was supposed to come prior to dinner. Waitress was unaware, probably because she had a section way too big for a single server. The food was actually decent. This is our second time coming, and our second bad experience. No reason to go back. Management - If your establishment is short staffed, you should 1) book accordingly, not fill it up and let the staff deal with the fall-out to make a short term profit. 2) Make it a competitive place to work with proper pay/benefits so you're not short-staffed. The industry has changed. Adapt or go extinct.

Alpha Landingham: Staff was on point. The restaurant space is rather small and feels kind of crowded. The decoration is art deco, strong 1920s glitz theme. The food was solid standard fare for a four-star hotel. Nothing bad just nothing all that special. I got the steak and my dad got the fish. Our server was definitely worthy of note as were the cocktails/bar.I would give the overall experience 3.8 stars. Enjoyable, but not exceptional.

Gotta figure out where this guy went… his food was the best I’ve ever had in KCMO.

On this last visit, it was definitely a miss. TRAIN YOUR SERVERS! I like Friday nights for live music and good drinks. If not for the consistently good food, I would not return. There are too many good places to eat in KC to pay for bad service, please fix it!

Awkward.As the host was seating us, we mentioned to her that it was my birthday. After being seated, our patronizing male server came to the table and asked me, “I heard it’s your birthday, hun?” I’m an adult woman turning 37 — not seven — “hun.”The server then proceeded to tell us that the restaurant was out of spinach dip and okra appetizers. He then asked to see my husband’s menu because he said he didn’t remember all the other items they were out of. He further said they were also out of the salmon entree and had no fish for the market fish entree. I’m a pescatarian, and so I was left with absolutely no entree that I could even eat.We left and went to Lidia’s where they were able to serve everything published on their menu and had a respectful server and delicious food. Five stars to Lidia’s!As we were leaving the American Reserve to go to Lidia's, the host and the hotel front desk staff person tried giving us coupons for other restaurants in the area. They oddly didn’t try to give us a coupon for their own business. The host told us that if we would come back next week, the American Reserve would have a new menu. They can’t even get a grip on their existing menu — why should we expect them to properly handle a new menu?

They have a much wider variety of alcohol than they do food. Limited menu and I have food allergies so I could literally only order a grilled cheese sandwich and it was bland. I will not return. I can go elsewhere with more menu items and for a much cheaper price. I literally spent $100 for 3 glasses of wine, a grilled cheese, and a bowl of soup.

I’m a big garlic fan, and they do an especially good job with garlic-intensive flavors.I just about always get the brotxeta and the papas fritas con ajo. From there it depends on what’s on special, what my companions want to try and what happens to catch my eye. As I said, I’ve almost never gone wrong. They also do a good job with cocktails. On my most recent visit I got an allspice daiquiri that was quite good.The service here is excellent. I recommend going during happy hour for the cheaper tapas and reduced noise level. Getting lots of small things can add up to a big bill at the end of the meal, and parking can be a little weird. But really this is one of KC's best dining experiences.
Ben Valley: I love tapas places and they are too few. This place is EXCELLENT! If you've never tried or you love tapas..... GO! They also have crazy cheap happy hour deals that are almost HALF OFF! You are doing yourself a disservice if you don't go. There are few places like this a one. Happy hour is Monday to Friday from 2 to 5. Bring a date, bring a spouse, bring of your friends, or go alone. BUT GO!!!!!

Emily Simpson: This place was okay. It was obviously trendy, but I went there with my dad and his older friends, and they couldn't understand the menu, and then you're outside and you've got the noise from the cars driving above you. The two tapas items that I picked from the menu for the table were a hit, but the other two that the table just went with at the suggestion of the server were kinda meh. The drinks were delicious, though. And though noisy, the patio was super cute. I think I'd have a different experience going back with friends. Not for the older crowd, I'd say. I think it could be a 5 star experience if I went with my girlfriends.
