Hotel Indigo Kansas City Downtown, an IHG Hotel: what do users think?
Julie Sleister: Great place. Stayed there a few times. Comfy beds, clean, and great staff. Water pressure isn't great. The only thing I would warn about is that you best be OK hearing whatever is going on in your bathroom when someone else is in there.Back again. Quiet bathroom this time. Hotel Indigo has become our "go to" when heading downtown.
Fallon Brooks: Hotel Indigo’s lobby is beautiful. The parking garage next door was super affordable with an $18/day max and very convenient to the hotel. The elevators are fast and we never had to wait for one. Our room and bathroom were nicely decorated and clean. The value for the price is fantastic!Walkability: This hotel was super close to everything we wanted to be near. We didn’t take the car out the garage the entire weekend.

Kyle Quandt: Very unique and nice place to stay. The rooms are decorated well, the staff was friendly and provided great service. Noise level was low and the restaurant downstairs, while not free, was amazing. Would recommend for anyone staying in downtown!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Quiet, Great value …More
Tara Johnson RN: Hosted my daughters bridal shower here and yhe staff was AWESOME! THANK YOU Lauren, Angela and Adam.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5 …More
M Linzie: We don’t typically stay in IHG hotels but we decided to try this one out. The hotel itself is in a good location in Downtown Kansas City and the walkability to the various restaurants and activities was a plus. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The smell and quality of the bath products offered was nice. The on-site restaurant was good as we had breakfast there. The front desk staff at check in and during the stay was great, however, the same can’t be said about the front desk staff at check out - which sort of put a damper on our overall stay (never saw the same staff twice).
Eric Hackler: Loved it, great rooms and service. Good location.Rooms: Nice, clean and spaciousNearby activities: You can walk to about whatever you want to do or seeSafety: Yeah they have security guards and security drive thrus. But it's not bad use common sense. But if you observe you can learn which dumpster to dive and come out aheadWalkability: It is very walkable just a few blocks from plFood & drinks: Good food on hand
Garrett Geringer: Good location and great rooms for the price. Valet parking is your best option for parking and that runs only $28.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Kim Sharitz: Nearby activities: Pretty close walk to T-Mobile Center which is where we were going.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 3/5Hotel highlights Luxury, Quiet …More
The RC: Wouldn't let us even come in and look around to consider staying there. Stopped at the door and turned us away because we weren't already guests. Unreasonably rude - clearly not interested in hospitality. Would NOT stay here or recommend.Service: 1/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Dilshod: The showers with half a glass door was a bit strange. But, overall a good stay.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Aviane W: I'm a fan of IHG Hotels. Location was great however, someone texts me about my arrival she even texts to follow up. I advised I wanted housekeeping daily. And a quiet room. I did get the quiet room but on the first night no housekeeping after I called and advised I was out my room. As I arrived the next day after a long day-my room keys didn't work. I called for valet when I came down he didn't even get the call. Overall, I think I was just hoping for everything to run smooth. Things happen but service was just very relaxed for me. Great location though. Nice people
Kiri Zeuto (Mawri): This place is amazing! It's very pretty. Clean, well-managed. They allowed me and family to bring our dog too, which was quite surprising. A little gripe being so near to Main and Truman, resulting in some dense traffic, but otherwise, this is great! I definitely would like to stay here again.Food & drinks: Integrated restaurant. Best if you get the vouchers with the stay though. Out of pocket for them can hurt.
Kirstjen Lorenz: The staff at this hotel is very friendly and helpful. I stayed in room 506, and it was huge with a very comfortable bed, a nice size bathroom with a walk-in shower and a good size desk and a very nice chaise. The location is very good. 1-2 blocks from the Power & Light District and the free street car that will take you to the WW1 Museum and Union Station.
Isabel Reutzel: Great stay with beautiful rooms and lovely staff. During our stay wifi was down in the whole area which would be our only negative but out of the hotels hands. The staff was helpful in every way possible even though their system was down too making their jobs harder. Walking distance to anything you could want! Parking can be a little expensive in garages but lots of free street parking certain hours. Attached to a restaurant/bar which is also of convenience. Overall loved our stay and would go back! ( there’s 2 hotel indigos in KC near each other and the other is a little sketchy and not close to much so be sure to double check was told it was a common mistake as we went to the wrong one first)
Miss Wilk: I stay here regularly as I drove from the west coast to the east coast often. My favorite thing about this location is how nice the front desk is when I bring my cat in it’s little backpack. They consistently upgrade me and provide top notch service and amenities. I know I write a lot of reviews for Hotel Indigo locations, but it’s because I don’t want to stay anywhere else. I will go out of my way if necessary to ensure I’m close to this hotel brand. Why pay 10x the price somewhere else for lesser service?
Melissa Mattner: Overall, my stay was great! I had issues with the mini fridge not working when I first checked in (I had stopped at the store for items that needed to be refrigerated). They helped me switch rooms without an issue. The rooms were great, quiet, and large! My only "complaint" - I booked this room under an AOTA conference rate. This rate was actually no different than their current posted rates. IHG, do better! Seriously.

Charlotte Kovacs: Lakota is a true asset to your business. He drove us places, was very friendly, gave us great suggestions on restaurants in the area, and even helped us carry our luggage down from the room. We were on a mother- daughter get away. Lakota made sure we were taken care of and he was very professional at all times.Rooms: Great room!
mswenna74: When I first walked in I was pleased with the environment, however I was taken when I entered the pool area, being the only black female other than a few employees. And noticed silence as I entered and walk to be seated, feeling should I go or I stay but then I decided to adjust to an environment that first seemed, public or invite only if you no what I mean, the salad and wine was great would I go back yes I would, why cause this is AMERICA and we are ONE,Food & drinks: Great
Isabelle Myzer: I didn't rent a room, so I can't really say how the rooms were. However I did dine at the 9210 and the service was AMAZING! Our waitress Nikki was incredibly nice and funny! She took a picture of my friends and I and hilariously took a self y! The restaurant is also incredibly nice with a great view! Jimmy Shelton: Overall, it was a great experience, rooms are clean beds comfortable. The only thing that was disappointing was the restaurant. the wait staff at the bar were not very attentive. We had to go out of our way to get their attention, overall not great at the bar and restaurant, lobby staff while checking in were great. The coffee bar in the morning is cool but not complementar, we ate breakfast elsewhere.
Rachel Jackson: Pros:- nice lobby area and outdoor seating area- very polite and friendly staff who were attentive to our needs- location is convenient if you plan to go the country club plazaCons:- the lampshade on the main lamp in our room was obviously broken and kept falling off the stand- the entire place feels dirty; the hallway and room carpets were visibly dirty and stained- the fitness center has very limited equipment and was missing many of the items featured in the photos- there were no USB ports for charging items; the iHome provided was very outdated and broken- some of the outlets in our room would not hold the electric plug and were not functional- the rainfall shower was barely dripping and had horrible water pressure- we tried to use the rooftop pool but it was very crowded; the pool area is very small and they allow non-hotel guests to use it so there is limited room for hotel guests- I was supposed to receive my receipt via email but it never arrivedThe entire place needs to be updated to current technology and functioning. It feels like a hotel with amenities from 2010. The staff were the only saving grace.
Brooke Sanders: Rooms: We arrived at 6 pm and found the carpet wet in our room. GROSS / is it a leak ? Is it sewage ? We were assured it would be taken care of - 3 hours later - nothing ! And the front desk told us to go find Cassie at the bar ! She told us she didn’t have time to check her email bc she has a luau going on? And told me to stop talking . Worst customer service ever .
Mason (cmd-space): Keito and the rest of the team were great!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Ashley Millang: Over the top customer service! All employees were friendly and went above and beyond to ensure a great stay.Walkability: Right on the plaza- great location!
Arnetia Nelson: Great location and the staff is great and friendly. Room wasDirty, carpet in the room in front of the bed was nasty, the lamps were malfunctioning flickering off and on I’m assuming that’s why they were unplugged. Booked room for two guest only one set of towels were in the room.Hallway floors were filthy. Definitely not a 5 star hotel.
Robert Johnson: Had a really nice visit here. Everything was clean and in good order with rooms that impressed. My only complaint is the use of a sliding door in the room's bathroom sans any lock or mechanical restraint. A regular door with a latch and lock would be far more preferable.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Aarron: The restaurant desperately needs help. Slow service and decent food.Service: 2/5 …More

roxkitspride: God forbid you have a question at 11:30 at night and you get the snarky receptionist who's day has just been soo hard that your call to the front desk just seems like an annoyance to him. I just had a quick question about my wifi not working and if there was anyway I could upgrade it which he flatly replied to no. In which then he makes a remark about how he can't check it because I didn't call on the hotel phone, instead of just asking what my room number is like any normal nice person would do. Informed him I TRIED but the room phone was not working. Was a fine evening but this left a bitter taste in my mouth for sure. And of course no call back or update about the wifi though he said he would call and check with someone else.

Would definitely stay there again when traveling to Kansas City.Rooms: Clean, quiet, comfortable. The cleaning staff is efficient and take care of the rooms every day.Walkability: Kansas City downtown is great to walk in, and this hotel is right in the middle of it all.Food & drinks: 10 minute walk from great restaurants
Sanne Kure-Jensen: Courteous staff but slow check in.Clean and comfortable room and bed.Freshly renovated hotel. Many breakfast choices.Use caution in the shower/tub. It’s super slippery and there is no gripper mat.Dove shampoo and conditioner make the tub dangerously slippery.
Bowie: I am literally blown away by my experience at the Holiday Inn. Stayed here on a Friday night after driving all day. Location is perfect, a very short walk to the Power and Light district that had a live, free concert going on until late at night. Fresh baked cookies at the front desk as usual... the building itself is very old/neat but you can't tell when you walk inside, especially in the rooms, which are fantastic and huge ! Very modern, great city view, very comfy beds. Then the breakfast... literally the best hotel breakfast I have EVER had. And the best part of the entire stay was the hospitality from the staff. The lady working in the breakfast area welcomed us with "love and kindness" and even sang us a funny song she made about the Holiday Inn. What a great way to start the morning, I really hope Holiday inn provides for this lady because wow, what an amazing employee and person all around. Thank you!!!!
Camryn Wdowiak: Had so much fun! Clean and PeacefulRooms: Very clean and peacefulNearby activities: Close to many things to do!!Safety: Very safe and secure
Alejandro Fernandez: I had the opportunity to stay at this location during a road trip, and I was truly impressed by the staff’s attentiveness. I exclusively used Holiday Inn hotels on this trip, and this particular location stood out for its exceptional service. The staff were superlatively great - polite, courteous, and proactive in communicating with me to check on my needs before, during, and after my stay. As usual, the breakfast was outstanding. The team made me feel as though I was staying in a 5-star hotel!

Louis House: Julie and the sandy blonde male manager really helped us out. Both kept our room clean and towels flowing. Also the water pressure at this location is amazing. The rooms are great. Lost power for a night, which is why I gave it four stars. Turns out the outlet power strip tripped and had to be turned back on from too many devices hooked up. All and all will definitely stay here again.PS literally 10 to 15 minutes away from everything in KC
Joni Jordan: MICHELLE and ALISSA (front desk) need to find a career that does not deal with the public. These two are the most classless, unprofessional individuals, and definitely have left a negative impression on your brand. We will never stay at another Holiday Inn because of these two tyrants! The absolute worst guest service we have ever encountered. Do yourself a favor and book your stay elsewhere! The entire experience was awful! Nothing good to say. This place deserves negative stars because of Michelle and Alissa at the front desk!
Mason Janney: Rooms: Good, but one of the chairs didn't lean as much, no couch unless maybe it's in the higher price rooms and the AC did not go below 65°F as far as I could tellNearby activities: A lot of shops and interesting activities around town, and some just outside the cityWalkability: Good, also a free tram nearby to go around town
Carlos Chuqui: There were no problems at all with service. Great hotel experience and would recommend to anyone visiting the city.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Aaryn Perry: Great service at lobby. Very welcoming and accommodating, even for our large group. Large are larger than average. The cleaning staff is very effective and cleans rooms every day! Home2 Suites Kansas City Downtown: what do users think?
Keyser Soze: Decent place. Been here for a week and have 2 days to go. Can’t wait to take a decent shower. They add some water softener additive which makes the water feels like lubricant and you can’t get this off your hands or body. The water even tastes off because of this. Avoid this place!! I’m headed to another hotel for the remainder of my insurance claim stay (5-6 months). They’re losing business because of this.
Marie Delvalle: The water is way to soft. Feels soapy and it doesn’t come off!!!
Gabe H Cuod: The front desk is nice and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Location is good. Housekeeping needs work but it’s negligible. The issue is the soft water. I’ve been here for 3 weeks and they add a water softener that feels like slime and you can’t tell if your body is clean when taking a shower or if your dishes are free of soap. Think of Astro Glide all over your hands and body and you’ll get the idea.
Majesca Wong: I’ll start with the good things. The staff were so nice, always courteous and really tried to help us out and make things convenient for us. Secondly, the location was excellent, right by the KC Street Car, which was great for getting to what seemed like the only grocery store downtown. The not so good- the rooms themselves and the facilities seem run down and there was a lot not working for what seems to be like a pretty newly renovated hotel. Our bathroom door did not close all the way, was off it’s hinges. The main master light did not work. Furniture seemed a little dingy. The washing machine made our room smell like rotten eggs. And some of the common areas also seemed a little run down. All in all, for what we got, I think it was a little overpriced. I would try to stay somewhere else the next time I’m in town.
Zachary Thomas: The breakfast and rooms are nice, but if you expect any sort of customer service or friendly, helpful staff - DO NOT GO HERE. The other Hiltons and Marriotts in the area are far superior, especially for business travelers. You would have a better experience at the La Quinta on troost than this place.
William J: Honestly i had a few family members stay here maybe a year ago. Back then pets and smoking(outside/parking lot) wasnt allowed. But this time was different.Even then the rooms, lobby and even the ground level parking lot was super clean. We stayed for a week. House keeping provided a full room cleaning every 5th day. The gym was nice and clean(no sweat smell) and the pool was clean. They serve breakfast every morning and usaully switched what was there every morning. All in all the stay was great and stuff did good👍Rooms: Clean, has a bed and a letout couch. Dishes are available with a dishwasher. Can get a portable cooktop /w skillet.Nearby activities: There was the money museum about a 5 minute drive or a 15-20minute walk. They have a trolley that is free and takes you to the power and light district(bar and nightlife area). It also takes you to the market. There is also the ground union station which is about a 10min walk from the hotel.Safety: The hotel is on a card based system. To get in the parking lot with a car a hotel card is required to get in the ground lobby /w the elevators a card is needed. Same with the pool area, gym and hotel roomFood & drinks: There are various food and drink places nearby. The hotel itself has a small little store with beer, wine and a mini snack bar. Some of the places nearby are pizza, mexican, and bbq places with 5min walking distance.
Dales Dales: I reserved a room A-day before my visit then when I Arrived after midnight womem on front desk lady she didn't even ask me i had reservation and told me we should out, then she charge my card more then price i book on online also the gaurd was keep looking on me for no reason I will never give my business again this aceRooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More

Jul Brnee: Came into KC for just a few days for a funeral unfortunately. Checked in about 630pm on 5/15. It was confusing finding the entrance to the hotel...we had to circle the building because its a small door on the side..not on Main street. And you can't get into the parking lot..the gate is closed. The side door is locked and it took us a minute to realize you have to ring the doorbell to get buzzed in. No signs except one saying the door was locked at 8pm..but it was locked the whole time. You have to take the elevator up to the lobby..again no signs. The man at the lobby desk did not smile at me not once..no welcome, no telling me aboit the wifi password, breakfast times..nothing. But our room was big, very nice and clean. And the location was perfect!! We checked out about 10am 5/17 and again..the lady at the desk never cracked a smile. No "hope you enjoyed your stay"...nothing. Wouldn't even take my key cards from my hand..I had to drop them in a closed container and throw away the envelope myself..per her instructions. Very unfriendly staff but the room was nice. Maybe because I was there for a funeral..but I could have just used a little hospitality.
S Alllen: Breakfast in the mornings, indoor pool, and workout rm...thumbs-up 💪
Odo N: The staff are super kind and helpful. Breakfast was good. The rooms could be a bit cleaner.
B. Crawford: I like the location. We could walk to many nice restaurants. Front desk employees we very helpful finding our way around. We were in for a convention at KC convention center.Safety: You had to get buzzed in to get into the lobby.Walkability: See above.
Syl Barnett: Hot water did not work in bathroom faucet in room 430. Peloton makes a weird noise during pedaling in fitness center.Rooms: Wasn’t as clean as expected.Nearby activities: Great locationWalkability: Close to many restaurants and bars.
Cheryl Stewart: Night clerk was atrocious. Could not fulfill my three month old reservation so she offered to let me out of reservation WITHOUT PENALTY. Guess it could have been worse, my friend's 10 month reservation was with Hilton property that was closed for renovation. No housekeeping for four day stay. Hilton seems to be struggling post covid. The last few stays have been tough.
Alfredo Bracamontes: Rooms: Very clean room and kitchenSafety: I like the card key for entranceRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view …More
Jazmine Vega: Miss Catherine was not the most welcoming.Walkability: Near by everyone and the best BBQ in townRooms: 5/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Romantic …More
JL R: I paid 30$ more per night because I called to make the reservation, rather than doing it on the Hilton app. The person who checked us in was void of any personality. They acted like we were inconvenienced by us being there. As a diamond member, I was not advised of my perks or offered them on check in. Beds were as hard as cardboard, the metal bedframe squeeked every time I moved. The couch had dried ketchup on the armrests. The TV didnt have a menu with available channels, auto set to a defining volume. More news/sports channels than anything else. No option to live stream. Walls/floors very thin. Could hear traffic and people talking outside all night.Rooms: Meh. Nothing special.Nearby activities: Loads to do near by.Walkability: Streetcar is right out the doors.

Shannon lesco: This place has really went down hill in the last few years... Rooms are dirty, staff is rude... We reserved a king size room got told there isn't any have a so called double bed room that looks like twins... Windows so tall you can't look outside....lady at desk said no kings available remind you we booked this in March... But if I get on the website there is kings available.... I'm literally in this hotel right now... The linens are yellowish stained... Extremely disappointed will not ever be back.. not to mention how loud it is on the 2nd floor.... Last time we stayed here a few months ago... We were awaken at 7am because they were re keying the rooms on our floor... Went to breakfast to come back with them re keying our room... Smelled so bad from the grinding... Not to mention our door wide open with our belongings in it....
hopperado: Mixed feelings. Most probably THE hotel of Kansas City, with splendid history on its own. On the other hand, as usual, service makes the difference. Leftovers from the previous guest had not been removed (although I took and displayed a picture), whereas stained bed cloth had been. Terribly sticky floor in the breakfast room (buffet area) with two bored gentlemen half busy with serving coffee (instead of making coffee distributor available).Nice bar, very efficient bar tender. One of the reception guys clearly hates his job (and guests) yet let us leave it as his problem. Comfortable rooms, noble type of interior design.
Clark Biggers: In a very old building. So spaces pretty constrained. Impacts room design (smallish) but mostly gym. Super super small and feels full with two people. Three is a crowd literally. Nice staff though. Great central downtown location.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Benjamin S: This is my first stay ever at a Hilton hotel, and was booked for a week for business. This hotel reminded me a lot of the Omni William Penn in Pittsburgh, but not quite as ritzy. Same basic theme, feel and great service from everyone on the staff. On the plus side, the room was clean beyond my expectations, the hotel was also well kept. Room was out of date, however. No fridge, Netflix and the bathroom could use a more modern touch. Bed was alright, pillows felt like they were very old. Coffee shop was adequate, breakfast and the fitness room left a lot to be desired. That’s why 4 star review instead of 5.The front desk brought me up a fridge for free upon my request, and did everything possible to make my stay pleasant. Location was unbeatable. I may actually try Hilton again sometime because of this hotel. Based on this experience, their standards are certainly higher than most every Marriott I’ve been to, certainly the two downtown in KC.Rooms: Very clean, slightly outdatedNoteworthy details: Fitness room is very underwhelming. The breakfast at the restaurant is not good. The hotel is very clean, smells nice, good music and extremely kind staff.
Chris Sterni: An old ice building converted to a hotel. The lobby and rooms were small. Came here on a recommendation from a family member who said the building was cool. The staff is not very friendly and helpful. Will not answer the phone from the guest room. Was here for 5 nights no room service ever. Had to call from my personal phone to get someone to answer about getting extra towels. Only to have the employee act like we were putting them out. Towels never came until the next day. Many other options in the power and light district of downtown Kansas city to choose from them this place.
Nickie Bryant: The Good; The location is excellent, the rooms quiet and the bar is top notch. The lobby is gorgeous. The Bad; Off site parking with no valet, no fridge or microwave in rooms.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Sebbastion: Overpriced and over rated. One star hotel with four star prices.Do yourself a favor, Stay away..Not a single thing of value worth mentioning about this mediocre establishment. No pool, limited or no amenities, they lie and misrepresent quality and services available, over charge and under deliver + The rooms are not quiet. If this represents Hilton quality, stay somewhere else, you cannot regret it more. If bland and unaccommodating is your desire and considered unique, you'll find it here 🤢Walkability: Maybe, depends on where you want to walk to: restaurants, bars or other hotels, concerts you could stay in hotel room here and listen to.
Amanda Anderson: Rooms: Sink would not drain, missing a curtain in the roomRooms: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view …More
