I received my first months rent free for a 10' x 10' climate controlled storage locker, and the month to month rental fee is pretty reasonable considering the quality of this facility. My initial move in went great. They have several carts available to help you move in your stuff, if you don't have your own.

Brian Bartlett: Very disappointing rental. So much so, this is the first online review of a business I've ever written and I'm 55 y/o. First, I have been unable to get into the facility on multiple occasions over multiple months because all of the keypads were having errors. And it wasn't just me, there were other renters trying to get in and were unable for the same reasons. Second, when I have been locked out, it has been impossible to get anyone from this facility or from istorage corporate customer service on the phone. Last time I waited for 10 minutes as music played w/o being able to speak with anyone. Third, when I did get in touch with someone (at the corporate customer service) and asked for a rent credit for the days I was deprived access, they said they were not sure that would be possible and they would have to put in a "request." Fourth, there are only a few carts, so if there are multiple people there, you may be SOL. And finally, in just over a year, they raised my monthly rent for a 10x10 almost 40% from $125 to $175/mo., the last increase being without any advance notice. Despite the inconvenience, I'm moving out. Rent a space at this place at your own risk!
MIke: Clean, nice folks on-site, beyond that way overpriced and rates going up seemingly every few mo. It was a different co when I moved in there, I storage bought it & it's becoming unaffordable. I am in process of moving out as many of my 4 units as possible. Been there since 2021, let a payment go past the due date by 1 day & the hate mail and threats of reporting to credit agencies begins.
Jerrica Jones: I came here on Monday, June 5 and arrived around 5:20pm. Matthew was very helpful. He pulled up the reservation I had and was able to show me the unit that I was interested in. He said that I could come back tomorrow (Tuesday, June 6), but someone else would be there or Wednesday, June 7 when he will be there.I arrived today, June 6 at 5:26pm to go ahead and get the unit, lock, and put stuff in the unit.Sidenote: This location is about 9 minutes from me . I get off of work at 5pm (wfh) so I hurried up and loaded my car with the items that I wanted to put in the storage unit. While doing this (and rushing), I sprained my wrist.So I called the customer service department and advised them of the store being closed, of my conversation with Matthew yesterday, etc. I believe the guy that I spoke with name was Victor. I can’t remember, but he said that he has a note that the location was closed yesterday and today and it said it on their website. I told him that I was clearly there yesterday around this same time so it was NOT closed. The guy said he can complete my reservation, get the access code, and I can get the unit today. I let him know that my intent was to buy a lock from them while I finalized my purchase. He mentioned me going to Walmart to get a lock, which I was not going to do. I then asked if they would be willing to give me a discount for my inconvenience and I mentioned a manager. He started mentioning a promotion that was already happening and I declined. Also, he said that a manager wouldn’t give me a discount (for my inconvenience either).This was so aggravating, waste of time, and a major inconvenience!

Tracy Johnson: I was just helping a friend move his stuff in there and since the tweekers all camp nearby we didn't feel safe leaving the hatch open or even entering the building without having to keep looking behind us. The right side entrance as you're looking at the building, a pane of glass was shattered, by the squatters and tweekers. They keep the carts to help you move your heavier stuff or to just use so you can take in a lot at a time we're locked up, because of the recent events of the squatters and tweekers nearby. So it was very inconvenient to have to bring everything in one by one. Plus the storage closes at 9:00 pm sharp, so if you have to do any moving after you get off work, you have a limited window in which to do so. I wouldn't recommend this headache at all, ever.
Kristy Kenney: Cube smart storage got 5 stars from me. Since Public storage took over it’s been horrible. I get an email stating my unit wasn’t secured and I need to go and check as the facility can’t touch the lock. Well that was incorrect! Several units were broken into and mine was included. This isn’t their first break in as the desk personnel told me! It’s inside and secure and I have never had a storage broken into. It must be an inside job as someone has to let them in and the guy said they can’t look at all the security cameras due to so many to go through. Although, it happened the night before so that’s not too much footage to look at. And they aren’t filing a police report. My lock was a brinks and looks to me like it was sawed off. I will get my stuff out of there and cancel my storage. This is horrible service and I don’t believe the story.

Customer service is first and foremost and they always go above and beyond. I would like to say thank you to Katherine and Bill for helping me out this weekend after I misplaced the key to my unit. Got everything moved out today, 8/16/22. When I return to KC all of my extras will go right back into storage at HWY 40 Public Storage because the staff at this location is very helpful and caring. Not to mention, the facility is safe, spotless, well lit, climate controlled and very reasonably priced. Thank you again!
Agonist Cannabis Company: Zero dock height areas which are ideal for moving trucks. Nobody is ever available to assist with better access to the facility. Instead of unloading your items and walking maybe 50 or 75 feet, you're often forced to instead carry your items 375 yards to your unit. It's ridiculous.
Max James: I have absolutely NO idea how this place has good reviews. The beginning of the year someone broke into our unit and stole our expensive tv and Our things were picked through. But only noticed that the tv was gone. But today we went up there to put things in the unit and literally EVERY SINGLE THING we own is gone. Our unit was up to date. No reason why everything is gone. Not even a piece of paper was left behind. Even the glass from the first time it was broken into was swept up. Apparently no footage for this incident AGAIN. The only photos I had of my dad are gone. I don’t know why this happened. It’s like they just let people walk around just to steal whatever they can find. Please for the love of god if you value anything that you own PLEASE do not take it here. My heart is broken. I can’t replace any of the things stolen from my boyfriend and I. -Rebecca

MrLowery1000: This review is a month late however... Trust me when I say this particular Public Storage(near Raytown)is the worst Storage facility(Even worst than IStorage on Troost!) I have ever dealt with! For starters they false advertised about the monthly rates,secondly I had to file an insurance claim(in which I won)due to roaches (and water damage from the ceiling)getting in and on my stuff😒!!! Last but not least the Amanda lady and her entire staff harass you by phone every other day for payment(after 1 week of being late) even after you ask them to stop!!! So Please believe me when I say don't want to do business with this trashy establishment unless you like getting headaches and witnessing poor/savage business practices!!! Oh and the 1 star rating is really for nothing.

Andrea G: They have a 2 hour limit on how long you can be at the storage. They don't give you an explanation of why either.
Susan Herlihy: I have been a client since before 2011 and couldn't have made better choice. Protected, well lit, clean. Barb, the manager is one of the nicest I've met. They added climate controlled units a few years back which added bonus for those who needed. Location is also a big plus. Angela McNurlin: I rented from Attic Storage NKC in 2016 for little over 2 years and NEVER had any issues. So when I was in need of a unit in 2021 I did not second guess and went right back to them. The office manager is very nice and helpful. I recently had a large unit and after moving most of my things out to a smaller house.. I was still in need of a smaller unit, which I was quickly accommodated with. My go to place when in need of a storage unit. Thank You!!
Ashley Davis: If I could give negative stars I would. I have rented from several storage facilities and this one is by far the worst. From the moment I got there, the manager was very rude and showed no interest in caring about my belongings I was storing. She asked if I had a lock for my other door, (as I had two doors that needed locks and didn’t have an extra one handy the day I got it.) I told her I would be there in one hour and get a lock on it. When I got there she had already removed her lock, leaving my door Accessible for anyone to get inside. This carelessness really upset me because I have my grandmothers wedding ring and a lot of expensive tools inside. I am a machinist, which is why i have a lot of tools, and I also sell items I get from storage auctions online, which brings me to my next example.The second day I was there I was moving in more items and rearranging everything, I also happened to take a couple pictures to post online later. Apparently there is a time limit you can stay at that storage facility, because according to her based on the amount of time I had been there, I must be going against the rules and working out of my storage unit, even though I was only moving things in and happened to take three pictures of my things as I had them in my hands because it was just convenient to do so.On the third day I got a flat tire inside her facility because she doesn’t keep a clean nail free drive way to park, so I was fixing my tire and she said she knew what I was doing and I was going to have to get out because I can’t work out of my unit. She has now issued me paper work for a lease termination. Stay away from this place!! Worst management I have ever seen!

SHE IS VERY KIND AND HELPFUL WHEN DIRECTING ME TO THE ONLINE PAYMENT PROCESS.SHE INFORMED ME OF THE NECESSARY CHANGES THAT ARE TO TAKE PLACE ON THE PROPERTY THAT MADE ME FEEL AS THOUGH I HAD CHOSEN THE RIGHT PLACE TO STORE MY BELONGINGS.I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO A LONG RELATIONSHIP WITH TARA AT THE ATTIC STORAGE.
Jacob Hatton: For starters, the facility is clean and very well maintained. I don’t have any worries around security, as it’s well lit and adequate surveillance. Definitely have piece of mind knowing my stuff is in good hands at Attic Storage.Secondly I was having struggles reserving a unit online, contacted Barb, and she was beyond friendly and helpful. She made sure I got my unit secured and still vouched the online promos even though I was having computer issues on my end. I feel very happy giving my business to someone who’s willing to take the extra steps to make sure the customer is completely taken care of/satisfied! If I could give 10 stars I would, just because Barb deserves it :)

Chikara Hibino: Used their storage for about 3 months. When I changed my address, I forgot to update my credit card info, but their staff was quick to reach out to me to ensure I didn't end up paying a late fee. I really appreciated that. While on my process to empty my storage space, Lisa walked up to me and checked in to make sure I had no problems with my unit. She was very kind and attentive.My only qualm was that the magnet on the doors weren't on, so I had to use other things to hold the door open while we moved stuff in and out. Very minor problem so I am giving them a 5 star review. Will be using this business again in the future.

Anna Mae: I got a unit today at the one on 34th and main the sales lady was an absolute angel my daughter was going through a rough couple of day and she needed to move her stuff to a storage unit asap because people were watching it ready to take her stuff I got there late and in the nick of time. I didn’t know that you had to be all the way out by six I thought as long as you had the code you can gain access to your belongings well she came out at six and told me that they needed to close up by six I apologized and almost felt like I was holding her hostage but when I shared my daughter story she I could see the sympathy in her eyes so if she is reading this some how I am so very grateful too you and that you didn’t put us out I know you could have may God bless you Lisa
Meech Me Outside: Hard to access
James Ashby: Lisa at the front was very helpful and kind. She was able to get me a storage unit fast at a fair price.
Adam Bomb: BEWARE of renting at this property you will not be able to access your storage unit beyond the office hours. She locked the whole place up so if you work at 9 to 5 you were just downright beat. Oh and holidays you can count them out too. I used my storage unit to hide all the Christmas presents for Christmas not knowing this Christmas Eve and Christmas. They weren’t even open we have to do Christmas after Christmas, so if you’re like every other hard-working person in a normal city that works Monday through Friday and sometimes on Saturdays, you won’t even have access to your own stuff oh and Sundays you can count that out that’s her day off she don’t come in

The elevator was broken so they allowed me to change to a unit on the ground floor all on a Sunday so pretty amazing service. The carts are so convenient too. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the plastic across the top of my unit has stuff on if and I’d love to have a clean fresh one put up.
Niquè: Pros: it does what it needs to.Cons: business hours.Set my arrangements up over the phone, had one thing reserved, came in and Lisa? offered a different thing.. Like everything was different. I couldn’t tell if she was trying to move me on her own accord or what but I didn’t take that space. Got the space I originally reserved and everything went smooth.Thank you!
