Julianne Rabal: This was my first visit to any Capital Grille location. I was celebrating a college graduation with high hopes of having a great experience with my family. Unfortunately that was not the case. We had to wait 45 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. The food was decent, however our server was extremely rude and had an awful attitude the entire evening really spoiling our night. Brett would take our plates and drinks without asking if we were not finished - even when there were still a large sip left. He did not really acknowledge our special occasion. We were expecting much better service for spending $$$$.

It was absolutely delightful seeing them all come out in their swan lake interpretation to present the bottle of wine to the table next to us! They have an extensive drink menu. Jim H.: I have eaten at a lot of high end places which have disappointed me, but this is not one of those places. I had a ribeye which was cooked to perfection. Another party member had the filet mignon which just melts in your mouth. Nice romantic atmosphere, nothing pretentious about the decor or staff. This place is not cheap - $180 for two which did not include drinks or dessert - but it was worth every cent. One thing to know is there is no on-site parking so you need to find street parking nearby.

Jeremy Hale: The best meal/dining experience I've had in Kansas City.I had the filet, the other person in my group had the ribeye. The steaks were well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Included sides were excellent. Escargot was great, and the garlic/butter sauce it came in was insanely good. We foolishly had a late lunch and were too full to try salads/soups/desserts, but I'm sure they're all amazing as well based off of what I heard people around us saying. Service was impeccable. This will definitely be my choice for birthdays/anniversaries going forward.

Betsy Mattison: Can’t believe I’ve lived in this city my whole life and just now tried Eddie V’s. You can tell by the abundance of staff that they take their business very seriously. From valet to our waitress, everything was excellent. Lobster tacos, crab cake, patron margarita and king crab legs were all top notch. Princesses of the 417 Company: Beautiful inviting atmosphere, very upscale but not too stiff. Erica was our phenomenal waiter, but all of the staff was efficient and kind/courteous. The food and dessert was perfect. My 5 year old remarked that the restaurant was so fancy and he wished he was wearing and bowtie. Erica emerged moments later with her own bowtie from her uniform and put it on him. It made him feel so special. The whole experience was over the top and wonderful, our bellies and hearts are full!

Our server Steven went the extra mile to take care of us. My wife got queasy about the time we arrived, and he saved the experience for us. I think 5s all around are appropriate. The ceiling was also beautiful.Raspberry mule- 8/10 the flavor was really good but tasted a little watery and there didn’t seem to be much alcoholLavender haze- 5/10 honestly it was ordered because of the Taylor Swift song but it had a very weird aftertaste. I don’t think the lavender flavor and alcohol mixed well. Drinkable but didn’t order a second.Shrimp kisses- 10/10 amazing. Perfect amount of chili kick, sweetness, and saltiness. Hot and delicious. J. Barrett: UPDATED REVIEW, May 2023: HARD PASS. Where to start. This place has gone downhill and gone downhill fast! I don't know if it's lack of good help, or a combination of that + really poor quality food. I ate here three times, under duress, in a 48-hour period. Extremely slow service, poor attention to detail, and hit or miss food every single time! For a restaurant supposedly of this caliber, I had nothing more than a disappointing experience all three occasions. Four of us ordered the shrimp tacos, which I cannot tell you just how terrible they were with kids being able to read this review. They need a complete overhaul of the recipe and they need to toss that disgusting microwaved shrimp in the garbage! Everyone experienced hit or miss dishes, rather that be appetizers or actual main courses or specials. Some of them were tasty, others reflected overcooked swordfish and halibut. You cannot overcook these delicacies and expect your side dishes, which also need improvement, to make up for it. I don't know what's going on, and I especially don't know how they expect to regain trust from patrons, but something must change and must change now for this downtown Kansas City staple! Did I mention they ran out of lobster? Really?2021 review (the good ole days): Top notch location, with amazing food and really great service. The bread basket comes with three different spreads to try out. The appetizers of bacon wrapped shrimp and chicken empanadas were absolutely delicious.I ordered the beef medallions with tiger shrimp. The hostess welcomed me with a wonderful smile and attitude and sat me at the bar to my liking.I was greeted immediately by the bartender with a fresh water. He was also attentive and polite the entire length of my meal, keeping my water glass filled, eating space clear of used plates and my Bloody Mary requests fulfilled while maintaining other tables in the larger seating area of the bar.They offered three (3) variations of oysters of which I tried all three and was not disappointed. They were fresh and appointed well.I also had the Challah Bread French Toast with sausage and it was delicious! It was served with fresh blueberries, warm maple syrup and sliced thick! The sausages were a welcomed compliment to my meal and in my opinion, ya can’t beat sausage dipped in maple syrup!I would definitely order this again and if this item is any indication of their full menu, I would definitely eat here again if I ever get to visit KC in the future.
Morgan and Taylor Thomas: This place deserves at least 6 stars. Food; great. Wine; perfect. Atmosphere; post Roman Italy meets modern. What earns them the 6th star is the sommelier Lizzie. Her help and personality set our visit apart from any other restaurant we’ve been to. Cannot thank her enough. Garrett Kirk: Great experience here with Dalton our server. My wife and I were celebrating our joint birthdays, Dalton was nice and attentive the entire time. The food was great and I was impressed with how fast the kitchen pumped out high quality dishes. That’s hard to do with consistency. My wife enjoyed a Gin and Tonic that was distilled in-house with salmon and red rice. She said it was the best salmon she had ever had. I had a filet with wedge salad, duck fat yukon golds with melted leeks. It was great. The filet was cooked perfectly and the bone marrow butter was a great finisher. We shared the crispy Brussel sprouts and a few oysters. We both enjoyed them and I was honestly impressed with how crispy the sprouts were. The oysters were delicious, fresh and flavorful. The really nice part was since we were both celebrating birthdays, we both got complimentary desserts. $10 a pop, on the house. A restaurant with their stature doesn’t have to do that but it’s really impressive when they do. We’re just two folks having dinner and they treated us like we were Mr. & Mrs. Mahomes. It was really nice and we appreciate it. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a upscale dining experience in Kansas City. Plus it’s in Union Station, easily one of the top 5 destinations in Kansas City. It’s an all around new favorite of ours for celebrating life events.Parking: Large paid parking garage located at 1804 Broadway St, Kansas City, MO 64108. Easy walking distance to Union Station. Sean Pridgeon: We went to have dinner with friends in the jazz club. We had a great experience at the main bar and cigar club, but our waiter in the jazz lounge was smug and condescending.
