They are so professional and understanding. Molly Lund: My daughter expressed interest in playing ukulele at age 7 and, not knowing whether it would "stick" or not, I just Googled "Ukulele Kansas City" and came across KC Rock Band and Guitar, which was close to our home. From the first call with Laura Lee to inquire about lessons, I knew this would be a great experience. Laura Lee and her husband, Matt, are the owners and teachers and generally wonderful people. All of the teachers are fantastic - my daughter now takes ukulele and voice lessons - and it is the most fun, least pressure environment you fill find. They encourage children and support them and find common interest in popular music that makes everyone want to practice more! It's not just popular music, though - all of the teachers are very skilled in what they do and are such talented performers themselves. In over 2 years of weekly lessons, my daughter has never once complained about going. She loves it and so do we!

Ryon McKivergan: My son started in Sept. 2015. We enrolled him in one-on-one lessons with Laura Lee, one of the instructors. He had just started playing drums with the school band in August 2015, so had very little experience before starting classes. By December he was not only learning the full drum set, but he was learning to perform songs as well. Over the summer he also joined one of their Rock Bands and enjoys every minute of it! The instructors have been amazing and very patient with the students. They seem to know what each student needs in order for them to succeed in music. I would highly recommend KC Rock band & Guitar for anyone who wants to get started on their musical journey or to advance the musical knowledge they already possess!!

Deb Fleury: My son has played the saxophone for about a year and just had the opportunity to participate in KC Rock Band & Guitar over the summer for the first time. It was such an awesome and memorable experience for him. He was excited to practice (without being nagged by his mom :)) because he knew if he improved, it would help the sound of the whole band. Matt and LauraLee are great motivators and make the entire experience enjoyable for their students! We will definitely do it again!

Mitch Shawn: I booked a voice lesson 2 weeks ahead of time and one week before the lesson the company cancelled my lesson and failed to reschedule. I did recieve a full refund but i would have preferred that the company fullfill the date and time originally booked

Z: They have stale listings on reverb and on their site. When you reach out or ask about it, it "just sold." Reverb offer was declined, no counter offer. Three days later, Lorene sends a message stating it sold "elsewhere." Right, just like when I inquired directly about a drum kit two weeks ago they have listed "in stock" on their site...same thing...offered an alternative color that was expected in a week or so...never removed the original listing I inquired about at all...still on their site then and right now. I became a customer when I purchased a set of cymbals costing more than $1000 three months ago. They were decent on the phone, Lorene handled the transaction. Well the set came without the cymbal bag inside I inquired about. I messaged Lorene and she said that it was "strange" as she supposedly set aside a specific set that she verified had the bag. When I called in at first she claimed there were no bags in these sets...which is why I was not moving forward and looking elsewhere as this was a gift for someone special. She calls back a few hours later verifying that "ohh yes it does come with a bag inside I don't even know that thank you for telling me." Well, I placed an order, it got here minus the bag. Apparently they set aside an "already verified" pack yet sent a "sealed" one by accident...I told her direct email it did not contain the bag as she stated...since the sales rep on the phone just pushed the issue to me emailing her....well still to this day she never followed up on the bag yet she claimed she was reaching out to Zildjian directly about this...False advertising (listings of items they don't have in stock to gain your interest) and deceiving customers is not a way to earn business in this industry. She tried to charge me for shipping on the drum set I inquired about two weeks ago that "arrives next week" when everyone else is doing free shipping on the product brand new 45 day warranty included. She did follow up on that with the wrong color sales push, yet failed to get bag to me on the gig bag she assured I would have in the package. Lorene, next time do as you say and stop posting ads in which you don't even have the stock for listed as "in stock." Based off of your replies to previous negative reviews I will not entertain your reply and take ownership of your mistakes and maybe then you can grow as a business and an individual.I will be sure to stay away from Explorer's Percussion and I encourage you to leave the same review if you are experiencing the bait and switch listings too.

Keith Lehman: Explorers is the drummers paradise. First, walking in to a beautiful display of a mixture or achoustic kits set up and a nice hardware display. Second, a great cymbal section where they are well displayed to test and compare. Third... No annoying guitar players trying to impress everyone with their latest solo shred!!But seriously, the people make this place the best. They are so helpful, knowledge and take the time to recommend what they find works well for them. I have to drive an extra 15 mins passed Guitar Center to get here, and I'm happy to do so!!

Kage Song: I had a bit of difficulty with communication, and felt perhaps an unnecessary sternness that felt a bit... angry with me for attempting to squeeze and save pennies I don't have to begin with. However, they had a selection of items I was not able to easily find in my budget. I guess I could also wish they were a bit more knowledgeable though. I would have expected someone running a full percussion store to have enough general knowledge to warn me that something may not fit correctly. Fortunately, I was able to solve that myself.

Rick and Tricia Townsend: Customer service was excellent, went in for first time, greeted on entry, had everything I needed, and ordered a want not a need for my 28 inch marching bass drum. I will definately be returning.

D Oehlke: These peeps are f*ing awesome. My kiddo has ADHD and it can be a struggle sometimes in new environments to keep her focused. They had her attention and kept her on track to playing some minor chords quick fast and in a hurry. The fack that the progam includes private lessons AND band practice to socialize the music skills is fantastic. Will be enrolling shortly, may even look at some lessons for me as well!

Michael Emery: THEY MAKE LEARNING FUN. My daughter has been going to The School Of Rock in Parkville for most of the past 10 years. She has become an amazing guitarist and vocalist. She has learned to play drums and keyboards. She has made great friendships and learned about teamwork, professionalism and performing on stage. We have had so much fun.The teachers and staff at School Of Rock are consistently good but Kyle Cimino has always been a blessing to my family. He was my Daughters first guitar teacher when she was 8 years old. I have been consistently impressed with Kyle’s ability to make learning fun for his students.

Rosemarie: We really liked all of the music instructors & they are great with kids(my 3 stars are for them). Can not say the same for the young woman who works the front office. She has zero social skills. The prices are very high and the layout of the programs is a little confusing.

Karen Saulat: I love the instruction my son gets from his teacher. He has grown leaps and bounds musically. I love the comrade he experiences with his other band mates in the performance program. The performances they have after 11 weeks are top notch. This is something you can't get at any of the other music instruction places out there.

She has gained such confidence and a great amount of strength and self worth under the guidance of SOR Manager, Matt and her wonderful teacher, Ara! We cannot say enough good about Matt and Ara and their leadership of professionalism during the time we have been apart of SOR. Just exceptional. I gotta brag a bit here and just talk them up a bit. :) If it wasn't for the company being under the guidance of Matt, and if they didn't have such wonderful teachers such as Ara, that company wouldn't be as strong as it is today. That company was made strong and has the great reputation it has now at the Parkville location because of great staff like Matt and Ara! I'll just let that be known. I hope they never leave, because I'd hate to find another location to go to. Kudos to Parkville and their exceptional loyalty to the students. It's because of these two, you can all see the passion they have in genuinely wanting to teach the children. Highly recommended going to this location and meeting these two teachers :)

Angel Seufert: My daughter was hesitant about switching teachers, but the very first day she came out of her lessons talking about all of the things that James did to make learning fun, easier and more interesting. She talked about his amazing knowledge of music and how he can just listen to a song and play it (she was really impressed by that) without any sheet music and he has taught her how to play songs without switching cords so often.He's made her excited about playing her guitar again in a way that she hasn't really been in a long time.She's also excited about going to see the kids in concert. She's hesitant to join the Performance Band because she's only 10 and feels like a lot of the kids are older than her and she doesn't know them, but she wants to go and watch them in concert and see what it's like.

Jessica Bolin: We have tried a few music instructors for our son and never could find the right fit. I heard about Rock School KC from a co-worker and thought we would give them a try. Nick is the BEST instructor and really knows how to work with kids. We are so thankful we found this place, Andre is always asking when is it time to go see Nick! Keep up the great work guys!

I called Big Dude's and it went clear off the charts silliness after Larry told me about the 50th anniversary DW 5000 carbon fiber DK.Um, yes please!Of course we talked shop, and I hollered at the "usual suspects, he also queued me in on some other great additions to my drums and away I went. Jeff Panaka: Came here after some business in the city. They had a nice selection of bass guitars and bass amps here which was great. They had a PRS Bass which I’ve never seen before. It was great to play. Unfortunately, I didn’t have space in my checkin to fit a bass so I had to settle with a t-shirt. Staff was real friendly too. 5/5
