P. Yang: They asked to reschedule my haircut appointment to be 30 minutes earlier than originally booked, and I agreed. I arrived inside the salon a couple of minutes early, but no one checked me in or greeted me until about 10 minutes after the new appointment time. While cutting and styling, Rachel hit my head multiple times, once with a heated curler. She apologized each time and took the time to explain the steps she was taking during the haircut, which I appreciated. The haircut I received didn't match my requested style, but since the salon was about to close in 10 minutes, I decided to leave as it was. It led to some comments from friends who thought I had attempted to cut my own hair and botched it. Was not worth $60 and the 2 hours of my time. Would not recommend.Service:Haircut

Emily Archer: Update: Though the cuts I got here were great, their color services are pretty limited. That's fine I can go somewhere else for that. I won't be coming here anymore since I've had appointments canceled on me at the last minute multiple times. This last time was 30 mins before my appointment. I understand things coming up but it's happened too many times at this point. I almost always tip over the expected amount, so I'm not really sure what their problem is there.Never disappointed with my cut here. I am growing out my hair and Krystal is great with the transitional cuts.

Lisa: Have been here a few times over the years. I live near by so I thought I'd try them again. Booked an appointment online and then get a text saying I need to pay an additional $37 for a 15 min consultation prior since I'm new. It's been a year or so but I am not new. No waiving the fee or offering anything else so I just said cancel the appointment. So instead of making $200 off me, they got nothing. Seems like a poor business practice and terrible customer service.

Elizabeth Oberheu: I went in for some added movement to my almost one layer hair. Rachel didn't only not listen, she didn't cut my hair. Almost the whole time she had the thinning shears in hand. We also didn't talk the entire time. She never asked any questions about how i found the salon or evern how my day was. I won't be going back. I still hate my hair.

DeAnna Boydston: I have been coming to this salon for almost 10 years and it is an exceptional experience every time. My hair is very difficult to highlight to achieve the beach blond color I like. I prefer it very light and bright. Payton is the only stylist I have ever seen that has ever been able to get my hair as light as I like AND keep the integrity of my hair healthy without a lot of breakage as a result of the highlight. She is definitely “The Color Queen”! I have referred multiple people over the years who have all also had a wonderful experience. Payton also recently styled my hair, along with my daughters hair and several bridesmaids hair for my daughters wedding and everyone was IN LOVE with their look that day. Payton was brilliant!! It may cost me a little more for services at this salon but the value absolutely offsets the additional cost at least in my case. Plus, as a bonus Payton has become a great friend! The salon also carries a wide variety of top-notch professional products, it is very clean and smells nicely… and the staff is amazing!! sandy batesel: My first time at Fantastic Sams. Walked in and didn't have an appointment but they got me in right away. The lady who washed, blow dried, and flat ironed my hair was super nice. She knew exactly what I wanted and did it. Price was reasonable, too.

She talked out loud about my mom's hair in front of everyone, made my mom feel very very bad and sad. This is the first time my mom has been able to get out and get her hair cut in a very long time. I took her there for her birthday trying to make her feel good with getting a new haircut. I am in tears typing this. This experience left my mom and I so upset. Lindsey kept making comments to my mother, like you need to brush your hair everyday ect. In front of everyone at the salon. She also talked about my mom loudly with other staff about how shes seen worse hair, with my mom about in tears in her chair. And this is the manager of th store. Has she ever thought there could be reasons why a customer has some tangles. Maybe that the customer is disabled and not able to keep there hair perfect.I went back into the store to ask why they talked about my mom. Lindsey( the manager) admitted she said those vulger things about my mother and in front of everyone in the salon she screams she should have charged me more. My mom was in and out in less than 15 minutes so if her hair was sooo bad why was it done so quickly. This was just a terrible terrible thing to have gone through.(THE WHOLE STAFF) was mocking me as I left. It was horrible. I do not recommended this place to anyone. Noone was professional with our experience. I pray this does not happen to anyone else. I pray the owners will speak to the people involved. Thanks for Reading. Audi Tea: I went here to get my hair bleached and dyed silver. I know it is something that is tough to do, but I've bleached my hair at home before and got it blonde in one go no problem. Now I will admit, super friendly atmosphere, had some skill in applying bleach. But shouldn't be bleaching or dying anyone's hair. Once he did my hair, it took forever for him to dry it and I knew it was completely dead. But instead of him saying this and offering to do a free cut or offer half the payment back, he says, 'so you got some breakage' like no dude, you completely fried my hair to the point where it doesn't even dry anymore. I tried calling him the next day and the day after that to speak about the situation, but of course he ignored my calls. So I had to go elsewhere and get all my hair chopped off because I work in a professional place and what he left my hair like was far from professional. I swear hair stylist think their customers don't know anything about hair lol. I also love the atmosphere, a smaller salon inside of a cute older home right by all the antique stores off of 45th and Bell. They also rotate local artists’ work for decor, which is really cool. You receive attention and care both from Vern and Brian, the owner of the salon. They are practicing great Covid prevention practices and the front desk gal is very nice. Rebecca Fischer: This is the only salon I'll go to during and post-Covid. They have been so careful to make sure that every guest is safe and comfortable. Masks at all times (and masks available at the front desk), only one stylist in the salon and one customer at a time. Asia Garruss: After the pandemic hit, I was nervous about going to a salon. Thankfully Hair Style is super strict about ensuring the personal safety of their clients and staff. They have protocols for allowing only one client and one stylist in the salon at a time. Everything is disinfected between clients, and both you and the stylist wear PPE the entire time. The stylist, Vern, listened carefully to what I wanted, and then he worked his magic on my poor, overgrown hair. He gave me exactly what I wanted: something shorter for summer that I could still put in a ponytail or tuck behind my ears. He also cut my hair so that is was softly angled in the front. It added an edgy look and flattered my face shape. Plus he recommended the perfect products to add moisture to my hair, and battle humidity, without weighing it down. Pure perfection!

I told her not everyone knows how to do them. She asked if I had a picture, I said no but wanted the length 1 1/4 inches long. She did a great job!!! Tracy Shoate: Wonderful service and great stylists. I wouldn't go anywhere else to get my hair done. The girls are always friendly and straight up, if they have an hours wait, they tell you. They don't make appointments, it's walk in and they are a busy place. Great job girls!

Miss personality told me I’d have up to an hour wait if the people in front of me showed back up. I thought you couldn’t make appointments at Sam’s? She walked to back and I was the only person in waiting area. I stayed for 5 minute, then decided it wasn’t worth it. For people that work off tips, I would expect better manners. I’ve always tipped these ladies well, but I’m never going to this location ever again.

Lula Ska: Siempre hemos ido todos en mi familia a esta localización, la primera vez que fue la atención fue excelente, fue una mujer joven la que cortó mi cabello, pero me he dado cuenta que las veces siguientes que íbamos en trato fue empeorando hasta hoy, llegué al sitio a las 5 porque según Google maps dice que cierran a las 8, pero las dos mujeres que trabajan allí me dijeron que cerraban a las 6 y que tenían una espera de 30 a 45 min, les dije que entonces iba a mi casa y volvía luego, entonces me dicen que mejor me quede porque ellas van a atender a las personas que lleguen por el orden de llegada, así que espero con mi hijo, me doy cuenta que a todas las personas que llegaban después de mi ellas les dicen lo mismo, que cierran a las 6 y que hay una espera de 45 min, también me doy cuenta de que el trato hacia los hombres es muy distinto al trato hacia las mujeres 🤨 una de ellas estuvo más tiempo hablando que cortando el cabello al cliente!! Normal que la espera fuera de 45 min si 15 de ellos estás ligando con los clientes, incluso la vi hablandole a él al oído y yo estaba como 🙄 ¿es en serio? Al final nos fuimos sin corte de cabello, Fantastic Sams tiene buenos precios pero prefiero pagar un poco más y tener más calidad de trato al cliente, hoy han perdido 3 clientes
