Raven Butler: There is no better groomer to go to in the area. Others were fine when my dog was younger but refused service when he began to have seizures and I forwarned of the possibility. This is the groomer that you can start with and stay for the entire life cycle which is so important so that your pet can build a bond and connection.
PATTY GUYLES: My wife's mom has brought her dogs here for decades, and now our dogs are being taken care of here. They are a blessing. You can leave your dog and not have to worry. We feel blessed to have this place to get our dogs groomed here!!!

Steve-0 Soad: As with so many of these sites....It seems to me friends or even the employees are attempting to counter legitimate reviews.The only pick I saw of a dog that would be groomed with a full cut... didn't look so great.After hearing shampoo was left in someone's dog...I will not be trying them.The highest review is for a Mexican restaurant!!And fyi...if the groomers are bothering to listen to feed back... shampoo left in a dogs fur can burn them and would absolutely send cause my pups to start digging their hair out... causing me hundreds of dollars at my vet... and immense discomfort to my pals.Can't help but feel if they had any basic skills in grooming .. they'd showcase them

Tina Nguyen: I had an appt scheduled March 17thand I rescheduled it to the 30th. Get a call few hours later to find out they couldn’t accommodate the reschedule after confirming it was. No wonder why most their groomers quit and they can’t get anyone on staff. Business speaks for themselves
Victoria Luke: Very expensive, low quality cut, and poor treatment of our dog. Our dog is large so we’ve paid up to 85-90 at other locations, but this place cost $180! They did not tell us that in advance. We also asked for a specific short cut all over and tail short. The tail was left long, body hair was left longer than we asked for, and our dogs ears weren’t even cleaned or cut! Lastly, they made the comment he needed two people to handle him but we’ve never had that problem and he was very depressed when he came home as if he was treated with disrespect. We felt so bad we took him here. It was our first and our last time. We are quite disappointed with it overall.

Yvonne Potter: As a customer for a year I have always been satisfied with their service. Always tipped the groomer and kept my appointments and left a good review after each monthly appointment. My most recent appointment, however, I left a critical review and was promptly called back by Paige who told me not to return and my future appointments would be cancelled. All because I complained it took an unusually long time to get my dog groomed since I had her in very early that morning. She said I was rude and put too much pressure on her girls. I guess they have more business than they need or want. This was after I paid and tipped the groomer. So… if you are dissatisfied with this business even in the slightest, don’t leave a bad review! You too may be cancelled.
Leah Kane: I had been taking my 2yr old cocker spaniel to Urban Paw Spa for several months and they typically did a good job until the last time I took our pup so I feel like I need to share this real review.The last appointment I had at Urban Paw (June 2022) I got our pup home, and within 24hrs I noticed his face/cheeks on both sides of his face were completely razor burnt/cut up and starting growing terrible blistering & scabs all over. It took several weeks for the scaring to heal. I also felt terrible since our dog already has bad anxiety going to the groomers and I truly hope it was just a new inexperienced groomer that no longer works there.Giving 2 stars because I otherwise we had a good experience with the other grooming appointments I've previously booked, but I will never return due to this experience.
Katie Hastert: I've been taking my dog to the Urban Paw for over a year and they take such amazing care of my senior pomeranian (who can be a bit grumpy sometimes!) The staff are always friendly and punctual and Sebastian's groomer does an impeccable job. They truly do great work. Plus, I love that the dogs get to play and walk around the premises rather than being kenneled when they aren't with the groomer. Highly recommend them! Here is my boy right after a fresh cut!

Hard to reach because they don't answer the phone and sometimes they charge extra if you call to discuss services. You can't discuss at drop off because the managers aren't there in the mornings. Shaved the dog too close, she did refund.

Obhi wan Kenobi: Took my dog there just yesterday for a simple clean up and teddy bear trim without any change in length. We got her back and her entire body was taken down in length besides her legs. She was a rescue that was shaved completely down in January, and we have worked daily keeping her long coat healthy.Upon calling to ask what happened, she had said we never specified. That her notes read "teddy bear, keep legs long, round face". We didn't say anything about her legs. I don't believe it was handled very well, she very defensive.Note to other owners, make sure to write on paper verbatim what you want or they will draw their own conclusions.
Heidi Burke: Friendly, helpful, and amazing! I took my elderly cat who is easily stressed and had some matting and she came back calm and looking wonderful. No more tangles for her! They took their time to ensure she was comfortable, so it did take a few hours, but I wouldn't sacrifice how happy she is for a sloppy quick job. I will definitely be returning.
Sandra Meyer: It was my 1st time bringing my 2 Huskies here. They did a fantatic job. The groomer took the time to come out and talk to me. She understood the breed very well, as they tend to be very vocal. Thankful for this place as my previous groomer would not return my phone calls. I'll continue bringing them to Urban Paw.

Wisdom Speaks: I took my 11 lb Maltipoo hair for the first time to get a haircut. Her haircut did not come out anything like it should have. I did call and express my disappointment and was told that they were short staffed and would try to get me in the next month with the owner. I arrive to have my baby groomed and I'm told that I will have to pay again!!! This is not acceptable. only did I pay the first time but I also tipped the groomer and now I'm being told I have to pay all over again for a job that was not done correctly the first time!! I'd rather drive 30 minutes to Independence Missouri where I know she will be cut correctly and I won't be overcharged for a job have done

chris yambo: 1/7: Owner is rude calling my dog a maddog and telling us we are only upset because our dog has a little boo boo. He is a 8 year old very sweet rescue with Cage PTSD and because he was shoved into their cages, which their website claimed they do not cage, he hurt himself. Do not claim something you're not. We chose this groomer for that very reason. If we would of known or was warned that he would of been placed in a cage, would of warned the groomers that he doesn't do well in cages. 1/13 update: Might have to take him to vet because his little boo boo is not healing.1/18 update: Still treating "lil boo boo" (serious puncture). Olena Reid: I’ve been bringing my dogs here for about a year and can only say great things about the owner and the service! Appointments are made for a full year ahead which at first sounded like how can I possibly know if I can make it, but so far (fingers crossed!) the system has worked very well! Dogs always look so nice after each treatment! They get complimentary bows and few treats to take home. You can also get dog food and toys there.

Franklin has been going to Gia's group for about six years now and I feel so lucky to have such wonderful care for our long-haired, flat-face friend who needs a little extra grooming than your typical house cat. This team cares so much about the animals they attend to and making sure that they are safe and well-cared for during the grooming process is clearly a priority, and that's super important to me. Laura Smith: They did a great job with grooming, that’s not why I am giving them 1 star. We scheduled an appointment for noon. The morning of the appointment, I received 2 text messages (no phone call) to cancel the appointment and move it to later in the day because they were backed up with appointments after a staff member called in sick. I did not see these messages. Please understand that I know life happens, but we have schedules that are tight with our jobs and it’s not easy to simply move our schedules around so quickly to be over an hour and 1/2 later on drop off. I understand that our dog does not like crates and will bark and that’s why they did not want to take our dog at the appointed time, instead asking us to come later. However, it is not acceptable the way they handled it or apologized. To turn us away at the door when we were dropping him off because they moved the appointment time day-of…please make more of an effort to reach your clients. If your clients do show up at the appointed time, don’t be surprised when they are upset when you really didn’t make much of an effort to reach out to them. This place is also a bit of a drive for us, so of course I was upset.I imagine the reply will mention that our dog barks in crates or that they can’t help a staff member being sick. Again, I am not upset about these things — I am upset by the level of effort to reach out and not confirming with the client that a new appointment time works for them. Then turning them away from the door when they made the effort and time out of their day to reach you. Your time is not more important than ours, that is incredibly selfish.If I did not respond that means I did not see your message.And the apology I got was simply “K. Apologies.” via text.Cool place.
