Empanada Madness: what do users think?
Andrew Avilan: Don't walk.... RUN!Man. The beans and rice taste exactly how my mom made them growing up.The beef empanada are spot on perfection.
D D: That was the best Cubano, beans and rice!!! I want the avocado sauce to eat on everything! They are warm and friendly with amazing food!!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Rice and Beans, Yellow Rice …More
nurys nunez: The chicken arepa was amazing. I also bought the chicken empanada which was ok. Not worth 6 dollars though. It also sucks that you have to pay for parking. 7 dollars for 30 minutes is crazy. Will probably go back but have someone stay in the car to not have to pay for parking. Also they close at 6 pm Monday through Friday not 4 pm how it states in Google.
Charisse Smith: This place is scrape-your-plate-delicious!!! I walked-in thinking I'm not terribly hungry, I'll just get a little bite, I took my first bite of the white rice and realized I may not have ordered enough! By the end of my plate I was stuffed but would have kept going, it, was so good!Along with the amazing food, the staff was happy to explain everything and answer any questions. Just a FANTASTIC experience!!!Vegetarian options: No dishes marked vegetarian at my visit, it may be difficult to eat vegan [I lack familiarity] but there appears to be options for building a vegetarian meal.Kid-friendliness: Very casual, many kids there, at least one highchair available.Wheelchair accessibility: All one level tile floor, open layout with easily moveable tables and chairs.Dietary restrictions: They had gluten-free marked on menu and everything is cooked to order. Plus they're happy to answer questions and help.
Jonathan Tilson: Best, empanadas in town!!! Love the new location at Crowne Center. Right across from the big trainFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Mike Lorenzo: Great option for something a little different. Chicken and Shredded Beef empanadas were well seasoned, and the breading is perfectly crispy. Worth a visit!
Candi Lion: I was a little disappointed this time nothing I wanted was available. The food that the others in my party had was good
I could place a lower score in the quality of service I would give it 5 stars less since the service was terrible the girl who served us seemed like we were asking her and even to put what we had left in a bag It took more than 10 minutes and to top it off when paying with a card the system requires a mandatory tip, that is, tipping for bad service, I do not recommend it even though I am Venezuelan and I have to support entrepreneurs in my country, but in this case I do not recommend it, they have a lot to learn
Jessica Davis: Food: 2/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 2/5More
Mike Garven: Delicious empanadas. Sweeter than some. One will fill you up.
Chris Clark: Soft and sweet empanadas were alrightFood: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Mason Mae: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes La Pelua Shredded Beef Arepa, Shredded Chicken EmpanadaMore
Josh Miller: Always delicious! The service was absolutely fine. There was a large party inside, so that occupied most of the servers' time. When they were with us, they were attentive and very nice.It is a small place with a limited number of tables. It's a quaint spot. Clean and generally maintained, though not flamboyant or exciting. Which is absolutely fine because the food is the real star and the food if wonderful!Parking: Extremely limited amount of on street parking in front of building.
Gene Gz: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Anamilex Mendoza: TODO SE VE DELICIOSO, LASTIMA QUE CIERREN TAN TEMPRANO POR LO QUE NUNCA PODRÉ IR A PROBAR DEBIDO A MIS HORARIOS😭😭😭
Car West Motorsport: Do not waste your money in this restaurant, it is excessively expensive, the food is lousy, the place is dirty, and the attention is the worst.
Jennifer P: I got a chicken empanada. I was disappointed by its texture and flavor. The dough was too sweet. I understand the desire to make a sweet/salty meal, but it was too sweet. I ended up not finishing it and my husband ate it only because he didn’t want to throw out food we paid for. It also didn’t have a crisp texture. They gave us sauces that weren’t so bad. But they were so sticky it was a huge turn off.

Chips & Coins: what do users think?
Shellie Brown: Not impressed at all, and won't go back. Ordered the Cuban Sandwich, ( I come from a food service background and this has always been one of my favorite sandwiches) so was excited to have one from a great Cuban place! The online menu states price $4.99. The sandwich is pretty much all bread, one thin slice of ham (grocery store lunch meat), the pork was dry, one pickle chip on each side of the bread, very little cheese. This sandwich was so dry I had to put mustard on it! The sandwich was also supposed to come with Plantain chips, I didn't get any. I ordered fries ($2.99) and got a handful of cold unseasoned fries. Then at check out, my order is $9.45 and asked for a tip? After questioning that, the man said well prices have gone up. Apparently they have gone up so much, they skimp on what is put on the sandwich. Not worth my money at all.
Karen Sammons: So disappointed they were not open on the weekend
Alex F: This place is on Grubhub, but every time I've tried to order it just gets cancelled.
Garvin R Thompson Sr: Good food greek dishes
Pat Malone: Had the Cuban sandwich and banana chips it's not the best Cuban I've ever had but at least it's better than the one I got at chubby's
angela Knight: Stopped to buy lunch I watch the cashier ring up a customer and touch money and then go start prepare my lunch but not washing his hands, I asked if he could wash his hands he replied to me that he was using gloves, will even when using gloves after handling money you still should wash your hands. He seem to have an attitude but proceeded to wash his hands in the back and their soda was flat and discussing. I use to eat here in the past I’ll not be returning they appear to have lowered there standers and aren’t washing hands, I had already paid for my food which I trashed due to feeling it wasn’t safe to eat COVID is real these people seem to have forgotten!!
Lashonda Jackson: Very expensive no food deals
Melonee Jackson: Very nice people. Great food
Travis Stock: best cubano in kc
Julia DeRanek: Excellent Cubans and good service
Chloe Mann: Best place ever!! Go get you a Cuban sandwich, they are the most delicious! Plantains are yummy
Bill Mahoney: Great place to grab and go
M Harper: My favorite.
Angie: Drive an hour to get some Cuban food.... So disappointed! This was frozen goya food cooked which we could have done at home.... Nothing that we had was homemade or even tasty. We ordered papa rellenas-frozen and hard, chicken- plain, rice, beans- no taste, sweet plaintains- frozen, cheese cake, yuca-good. They didn't even have mayo ketchup but that's more of a Puerto Rican thing so I'm not complaining, I ended up making my own :) won't be going back.
Mark Harper: I love this ladies food! It's amazing...I can't wait to go to Cuba
Thomas Humphrey: Great food and pleasant staff my family loves everything and thier lunch specials are at great prices with the portions they serve my favorites are thier stuffed peppers and thier pulled pork
Keith Nolen: Good food excellent customer service
Aida Halaoui: I was surprised how good a $5 salad. It was a good place.
neversaynever ever: Breakfast burrito ok. Sonic & Taco Bell tastier. Cuban coffee tasted good but wasn't the kind made with micha pot.
Andy Rauseo: Awesome lunch specials. Also love they have my favorite Goya Products.

Eric Fuentes-Ruiz: Been there a couple of times since we’re spending more time in KC. The food has been very good and so has been the service. Will continue to eat there whenever in town. 🇵🇷✊🏽🇵🇷
Nadiya J.: I've been here plenty of times before and always got the garlic salsa pollo but for some reason this is how it looked yesterday. I'm not sure if there's a new chef, but something like this shouldn't have even left the kitchen and for $17 at that. The plantains were burnt and the yuca overcooked or been out all day I couldn't tell all I know is I couldn't chew it, and I wasn't about to lose a tooth over it. Added a star for customer service but if this is the standard going forward I won't return.

Charles Wells: Cool little spot on southwest boulevard, great food, and cocktails. The Coffey here is quite the show.Have had luck here with and without a reservation for a party of 2.Not the cheapest but worth the experince.Parking: You may have to circle the block and walk a block or two. There is a small public lot bear by but it is easily filled. I have never found a spot there
Bryan Whitehead: I’ve been dining here since before it was called La Bodega, so naturally it’s an enduring favorite for me. I always get a combination of tapas, so I don’t have much experience with entrees or salads. The small plates are outstanding. Almost everything I’ve gotten here has been an excellent combination of good basic cuisine and delicious sauce. I’m a big garlic fan, and they do an especially good job with garlic-intensive flavors.I just about always get the brotxeta and the papas fritas con ajo. From there it depends on what’s on special, what my companions want to try and what happens to catch my eye. As I said, I’ve almost never gone wrong. They also do a good job with cocktails. On my most recent visit I got an allspice daiquiri that was quite good. The service here is excellent. I recommend going during happy hour for the cheaper tapas and reduced noise level. Getting lots of small things can add up to a big bill at the end of the meal, and parking can be a little weird. But really this is one of KC's best dining experiences.
Ben Valley: I love tapas places and they are too few. This place is EXCELLENT! If you've never tried or you love tapas..... GO! They also have crazy cheap happy hour deals that are almost HALF OFF! You are doing yourself a disservice if you don't go. There are few places like this a one. Happy hour is Monday to Friday from 2 to 5. Bring a date, bring a spouse, bring of your friends, or go alone. BUT GO!!!!!
CJ: Cute place with great food! It's tapas style and if you go during happy hour (2-5) you can get a great deal.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Elotes, Papas Fritas Con Ajo …More

Emily Simpson: This place was okay. It was obviously trendy, but I went there with my dad and his older friends, and they couldn't understand the menu, and then you're outside and you've got the noise from the cars driving above you. The two tapas items that I picked from the menu for the table were a hit, but the other two that the table just went with at the suggestion of the server were kinda meh. The drinks were delicious, though. And though noisy, the patio was super cute. I think I'd have a different experience going back with friends. Not for the older crowd, I'd say. I think it could be a 5 star experience if I went with my girlfriends.

Mark Lee (Inspector Gadget): This place was delicious! Started with a yummy Ceasar salad and then split 3 plates with a friend. Finished it off with chocolate flan for dessert and a Spanish coffee. We did outside dining, which was nice, we were close to the traffic, but that's all part of it.
Brad: Awesome tapas experience. Unique dishes you are not going to get anywhere else. A lot of fun to bring a group or date and share. Service was top notch every time I have been.
