AR Workshop Kansas City North: what do users think?
Cody Truitt: Got a really cool bag here and the staff was super nice. Definitely look forward to signing up for a class!
Audrey Blacklock: Outstanding time at this workshop! Had a team building event for work and we had so much fun!! The instructor was amazing and the finished products were such high quality! Highly, highly recommend and we will be back for sure!
Rebecca B: I did a DIY Saturday workshop with a friend and was impressed by the attention to detail during the process and professional final product. I have gone to a similar workshop with a different company and AR Workshop KC North was hands down above and beyond the competition. Can't wait to return.
Katie Jackson: DO NOT GO during there "walk in" workshops . It's a cluster. Two employees for 30+ people. It was awful.*Edited*I am upgrading the review to three stars. They do have a really cute store and lots of fun stencils to choose from. I will return to make other cute options. I will be making an appointment from now on to ensure we have some one on one guidance. I do recommend trying them. Given the recent circumstances with the pandemic and all I understand the short staff. I amend my previous review as it warrants it.
Megan Micek: Absolutely the best! We had a great experience and will be back
Stacy A: So much fun making the chunky knit blanket at the workshop! Jennifer was super helpful and patient so appreciative for the extra time and attention to detail. The retail space of home decor is so welcoming, I could have bought alot for my home! Definitely will be back for another DIY project!
Rebecca Graham: Great date night spot!
Debbie Stevens: Amazing experience! Relaxed and fun.
Karla Kopp: So much fun!
Jennifer Smith: Such a fun place to have a girls night out! We had the absolute best time
Jessica Zollmann: Such a great time. We will definitely e having another girl's night there.
Shannah Mcgee: Love, Love, Love this place!!! And Jennifer is awesome!! I enjoyed making chunky knit pumpkins and loved how quickly she put together the DIY to-go projects for a fun little escape from the quarantine. And the cute retail items her store offers come from local crafters- Go KC!!! Please visit when you can!
Denice M: I had a private fundraiser event at Jennifers AR workshop and it was great. Everybody had a good time and brought home quality projects. I also made money for my organization. Thank you so much Jennifer we had a great time!Denice Morrison AORN greater Kansas City
Shea R.: This place was a blast! My daughter (9y/o) and I went for a company outing and had so much fun! They have a ton of different crafts to choose from & very helpful employees. Jennifer was the best, helping us perfect our crafts & was super sweet throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend this place for friends, family, & company outings. My daughter & I will definitely be back!
Jordan H.: This place was a blast. We had a work event for our company and it was so fun to be able to walk around and see what everyone was making, as it was all different. There are a ton of options to choose from and they're all rather easy with the help of the staff even for beginners! It's a unique out of the box concept and I'm so glad it's in the Northland now. It gives something to do inside if the weather is bad and you get to take home your project that same day. The staff was great and the atmosphere was super laid back and the space had some really cute stuff for sale too. This is a fun place for anyone to visit, from family events to company gatherings to just a girls/guys night out. I highly recommend! Thanks Jennifer for such a great time.
Mandy H: We had a great time at AR Workshop Northland with our group from work. Excellent variety of projects to choose from. Great atmosphere, lots of hands-on help and instruction as needed. Jennifer and her team genuinely want everyone to have a good time and take home a project they can be proud of. Can’t wait to come back and make more!
Rita Foxworthy: I went for a class today and totally enjoyed making my own porch sign. The place is organized and the owner and help were great!! Very helpful and considerate. Loved it!!! Daytime and evening classes. Check it out!! Make great presents.

Driftwood Ceramics: what do users think?
Martha Tillmon: Update 2023: We all went back for a wheel throwing class! McKenzie had all the patience in the world, teaching us how to use the wheel, and because of that, we all ended up with awesome pieces. Again cannot wait to see them all completely finished!2022: Took my nieces (and their moms 😊) to a kid hand-building class. McKenzie made it super easy, and the girls had so much fun! We loved it and are already planning to come back for another class! Can't wait to see our finished products!
jonathan bogaard: Great instructors made it interesting, fun, and easy to learn. Highly recommend a class!
Joanie Feather: Our group of 9 had a blast! McKenzie is a fun (and very patient!) instructor. I can't wait to see our finished pieces! Thanks, Driftwood Ceramics!
Margaret Crite: I went here with a group of friends. We had the place to ourselves. The instructor was fantastic she was comfortable teaching allll of us - some were really bad at it. She was patient and confident! I’ve been really wanting to go back because it was such a fun time!
Robin Reece: Great group activity!
Colin: Had a perfect date night with my girlfriend at Driftwood’s Pots & Pints event that happens every Friday and Saturday at 7p. There was a mix of people at the event, so don’t be afraid to bring a friend or family member as well! You can BYOB to calm the nerves if it’s your first time spinning pottery. My girlfriend and I both found the instructors to be very kind and helpful. The quality of the instructors definitely showed in our work, which turned out very well. The best part is the instructors handled clean-up and will glaze and fire the pots for us, which we pick up after about 4 weeks. We both want to take a class now because we had so much fun. I would highly recommend visiting Driftwood!
Alicia Jefferson: We had a great time at the Pots&Pints! Such a fun group and patient instructor, Joy! I do, however think the ticket price is a bit steep for the allotted time. The tickets state 7pm-9pm, but we were completely done and cleaned up by 8:15pm. That was a little disappointing, but still such a great experience!
Tori Hoffman: My wife and I took a “Pots and Pints” class here yesterday with some friends and we had a blast! Mckenzie was an awesome teacher and made the class so fun. The small class sizes ensured she could make it around to help everyone individually. 10/10 recommend and will be going again!
Kayla Asher: Attended the valentines class & had the BEST time! Emma is such an amazing instructor!! She is so helpful, informative, and patient. Would highly recommend any class they are offering.
Alyssia Goodwin: I have taken multiple classes at Driftwood and every time it was a great experience to be able to learn coming in with no experience my first session on the wheel, to be able to have the space to learn, create and try something new! I could not reccomend more sigining up for a class or a date night or some activity with Driftwood!
Megan Romer: We had a fun and engaging class with Emma last night. She was helpful and informative without being overbearing or condescending and just seemed to be generally having a good time. It was a neat experience being able to throw on pottery wheels.
Leah Lambart: Fun studio space for learning about and exploring Clay. We did a hand modeling class which was so much fun. It's amazing how Clay acts and how you can manipulate it. They also have wheel classes and the availability to rent a shelf which comes with studio time. If I had more free time I'd be here more often!
dmscrivner: McKenzie was an amazing guide through a first time throwing session. My wife and I had literally never tried throwing clay and were able to successfully make a cup and a bowl with her instruction. It makes for a wonderful date with your spouse.
L A: Sooo awesome. My husband and I went for our 8 year anniversary. We took a private a class. So much fun! I will definitely be back. Thank you!
katelin quanbeck-hollowell: My husband and I did a 'Pots and Pints' date night class here and loved it! I feel like I learned some good tips for throwing on a wheel and we can't wait to see what the finished products look like! Definitely would recommend checking Driftwood out :)
Liz Wilkerson: HIGHLY recommend! I took my mom to a Pots & Pints class and it was a blast. It's a smaller class which allows McKenzie (shop owner/teacher) to really focus on each person. She was an excellent teacher and if you happen to mess up a little, she provides great feedback on how to fix it. She was really fun, had great music going, and overall it was an incredible experience. Perfect for a date night, girls night, or just something fun to do! Go NOW!
Tom Stanley: Driftwood Ceramics is the best spot to get your artistic juices flowing with your friends! Book a birthday party, date night, family outing, or just cause. McKenzie is the best teacher - she'll make sure you walk away with a great piece!
Abigail Williams: 10 out of 10 would recommend. I had been wanting to take a pottery class, since the last time was back in high school. So my boyfriend and I went here and had the best time!! McKenzie lead the class and was so lovely. So patient and was very encouraging. Oh and NOT only can you create your own piece of art ,but there so many amazing pieces to buy. Anyone looking for a little adventure needs to look into Driftwood Ceramics. ♥️So much fun!!
Brook Campbell: Had the best time at the Pots & Pints class! McKenzie is a great teacher, and just makes the whole experience so much fun! Will absolutely go back!
Lisa Bridge: Amazing place! Had an awesome time at Pots n Pints class for our birthdays! Definitely reccomend!
Chris Truong: Had a great time here! McKenzie was great! Perfect spot for a date night!

KC Clay Guild: what do users think?
Randy Nevens: Classes, sales, kids camp... all fun stuff!
Randall Vasquez: A very meditative activity
Haley Jester Mott: This studio is great! The people that use it and run it are very welcoming and willing to share their vast knowledge, whether you are a beginner or an expert. It is affordable and accessible.
Breanna Moak: Great classes with a variety of instructors.
Karl Rose: It was full of clay. Started crowded when were by last time, then it got much better. It can be crowded , but not always.
Kate Blythe: I had such a fun time with a friend at a Sunday evening beginner wheel throwing class! I can’t wait to come back and learn some more. This is an awesome organization in Kansas City!
Sammy Dewey: It was amazing! So fun to be hands on and make something with the clay. Be warned, unless you are going there for a class, it's kind of a free for all. I would recommend going with someone who's been there before or going to the class first. It can be intimidating at first but it's very therapeutic!
Futuristic Foggywatch: Great place. Reasonable prices.
William Laws: The Raku pottery night was so much fun. Great to learn and watch the kilns. Beer and food were great. Super fun atmosphere and people.
Carrie Junot: The classes are great for kids.
John Devaney: Granddaughters attended Kids Clay Camp last week. They had a blast and produced a lot of colorful ceramic projects. Ms. April was their teacher and clearly had experience working with kids. Grandkids leave out of town but are already planning to come again next summer.
S G: I signed up for the 4 week Saturday class and ended up walking out after an hour of the first class in sheer frustration. First of all, due to snow closures and the way their sale days fell, the June class STARTED the second Saturday rather than the first. Apparently 2 people showed up the first Saturday anyway so those of us who actually showed up to the first class as we were told to were targeted as NOT SHOWING UP TO THE FIRST CLASS. The instructor then repeatedly told us we had to move at LIGHTNING SPEED to catch up because we were way behind. There was absolutely no instruction, demonstration or even an example or explanation of what we were making, but we had to move at lightning speed to do it. There weren't enough materials for the class. There was 1 PATTERN and 2 RULERS for 5 students so we were waiting on everything and then barked at for being too slow. There also weren't enough boards to put the slabs on. Heaven forbid we didn't do everything EXACTLY as the instructor wanted us to as if we could read his mind and had been doing this for 40 years. I genuinely thought he was going to go off.I finally just walked out. I took this class (that's open to BEGINNERS) to LEARN a fun, creative and relaxing hobby, not to be barked at by an angry old man who can't teach, has ZERO patience and clearly didn't want to be there.
Tressa Roecker: Welcoming, friendly people. Great for any skill level.
Michelle Binicewicz: What a wonderful escape from the mundane routine of the day to day responsibilities. A Friend asked me to go with and having no experience I didn't have many expectations. We paid $5 each and $5 for 25lbs of clay, which was more than enough! It was so much fun to explore the feeling of clay spinning in my hands and transforming into random shapes!! The Staff/Volunteers were very helpful and knowledgeable. My favorite part of this new experience was watching 'seasoned' clay masters zone into their work...it was so relaxing just watching them. There were familes with their kids and older people with their grandchildren who came to just have fun and create. Truly a Beautiful experience!
Sara MacLeod: This is my happy place! Great people and low key welcoming atmosphere. All skill levels are welcome
Karren Deibler: Learn from one of the awesome teachers.
Justin Elderbaum: Took the late night Sunday one time class, we had so much fun and the instructor was very knowledgeable and helpful
Christopher Draven: I’ve fallen in love with this place!Complete beginners should start here. The classes are geared towards the community, the resources are often communal (saving you from spending tons of money on tools unless you want to), and the prices are great!I’ve learned so much about clay and ceramics by attending a weekly class. My instructor is helpful and available when I need assistance.Throwing, trimming, and glazing my little pots has been a blast! Also, there are blocks of “open studio time” that one can reserve. There are smart COVID protocols in place, and masks are worn at all times by everyone in the building.Great organization! Can’t recommend highly enough.
Cole Myers: Very talented group of artists. I have always enjoyed their exhibitions and highly recommend a visit!
Anastasia Huggins: We took the Sunday night, 3 hour class and it was amazing! I'm planning on signing up for more classes :)
Linda Callahan: Awesome!

ScrapsKC: what do users think?
Christy Huber: Best thrift store for Art supplies!
Lynn Monger: I LOVE SCRAPSKC
Jenna Munoz: Always an adventure, and we always find the supplies we need (plus more)!
Nik Huffman: One my favorite places in KC. A fan since the early days in the West Bottoms. Looking for something to do something? You can probably find it or figure it out here.
Melissa Humphries: Great place to buy art and craft supplies and support a good cause at the same time.
Beth Monger: Great place to find unique crafting, yarn and sewing items for a decent price and help people in need at the same time.
Anisa Gaines: Awesome place for crafts supplies with great prices. Fun to take kids here and let them pick stuff out
Chris McClenny: All sorts of nifty tidbits of things for almost any project! Staff super friendly!
Gina Donica: Love this place! Just wish it was closer to me! Inspiration around every corner!!
Virginia Long: Amazing place! They have figured out how to repurpose almost everything! Donate or shop. Or both! They're keeping stuff out of the landfills and helping the homeless too. A KC treasure everyone should know about and support.
Stephanie Mahoney: Great place to find fabric, office supplies, craft supplies and make donations. Lovett!
C H: Such a fun place, I love it!
Regina Moreno: Has a supply of fabric remnant at reasonable prices
Rebecca Gordon: Interesting little store with all kinds of fun "scraps" for crafting. Great place to get some inspiration.
Emily (Selkie): This shop is a little bit of a walk from the nearest bus stop (11 line, SW Blvd/31st St stop) but honestly worth the effort for all the goods. It's an arts and craft supply wonderland with competitive prices. The stock is always changing as it's (as far as I can tell) mostly reliant on donated supplies to populate the shelves. The yarn selection is really good. There's always a nice variety of different yarns, some interesting novelty stuff, a small section for higher end yarns, and some shelves with the standard types sold at craft stores. As far as other crafts go, there's fabrics (apparel and quilting), embroidery floss, a smaller selection of drawing and painting supplies, miscellaneous odds and ends, and office and school supplies. There's really something for everyone. The shopping experience was a little rougher than my first visit here (Saturday afternoon as opposed to like, a Wednesday at opening). The aisles were more crowded and kids were dashing around, kind of annoying. The yarn shelves were depleted considerably. That being said, I found what I needed and a few extra useful things. The prices aren't rock bottom thrift store prices but still way cheaper than full retail.Definitely check this place out if you're looking for supplies on the cheap. My only other real criticism is the limited open days/hours. I wish it was open more often.
Andy G: Wonderful place full of anything the creative mind would ever want or need, at incredibly good prices. Can’t recommend enough!
Beth Garbe: I love going to Scraps KC. I think it is a great concept the way it is set up to be a source of craft supplies for every type of craft or hobby imaginable. They have great, quality items and the prices can't be beat. Not to mention its proceeds go to such a worthwhile cause and the craft/hobby items people donate not are not just being thrown away and filling up a landfill.
Susan Runer: Nice people. Great way to get stuff out of the closet.
Selena J: As an artist, crafter and maker this place is magical ✨ I've found so many treasures and thankful that a place like this exists to keep items out of the landfills and into hands that love to make things. As if that's not enough, the hearts of those running and contributing to this store help the homeless, give away school supplies to teachers and have education programs to teach children about the environment and embracing their creativity.
Jacque Voss: Best crafting consignment store in the city. Great deals on everything
Ashley Holland: Awesome second hand store for art supplies. You never know what they'll have it's always a surprise! Plus they give back to the community 💚💚💚 go scraps KC

Parkville Artisans' Studio: what do users think?
Kate McDonald: This place is a SCAM! Paid in advance 2 months ahead of time for a group of 10 for an adult birthday party, all of us showed up on time, place closed. No one there, lights out, door locked, no one answering phone, tried email. All 10 of us left out in the cold. 3 of us went next door to candle shop to see if they knew what was going on. When we told her no one at studio was there for our scheduled time, candle store owner lowered her head and said "oh no, not again!" She then proceeded to tell us that it has happened so many times she usually invites the disappointed pottery customers to make candles in her shop instead, but that day she didn't have enough supplies for our large group. Best part is, pottery owner won't return phone calls or emails for our refund, reported her to BBB and our credit card company for fraud. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!!!
Erin Pickell: It’d be awesome if they were ever open when their sign says they will be. We’ve made 2 trips to downtown Parkville specifically to come to this place and they aren’t open. The owner never seems to be there when they are open. We made pots months ago that we have still not gotten word about if they’ve been fired. If you aren’t going to run your business like a business then leave so another shop can use the space. And for the record it’s called GLAZE, not paint.
Jianyu Zhu: I’m the boyfriend…still no pottery. They never answer the phone call
Lorenda Sumpter: I was so excited to see this place and spontaneously paint a piece of pottery. My boyfriend and I both painted and waited the 3 weeks for pick up. We called to see if we could pick up, a little after the 3 week wait, to find out our pieces haven’t been fired yet. We have called 3 times since then, and we are going on 7 weeks without them. What a bummer.
Kristy Robinson: There are so many fun pieces to look at and explore!
Heather J: My husband and I have thoroughly enjoyed taking private lessons with Tricia. We have now found a new activity to enjoy together, throwing clay on the potty wheel. Great teacher and a laid back environment.
Samantha Zeigler: Tricia really loves what she does here and makes the classes fun and exciting. I love her energy and this place! Great to bring your little ones for some summer fun.
Diane Louise Baker: The staff here are helpful and friendly. As for delivery I am less than impressed. We originally booked a pottery class that is supposed to have 10 students. When we arrived there were only four wheels , we were lucky that the others were a no show. We paid $35 per person for a tiny piece of clay and made our bowls. Were were told to come back in two weeks and glaze. All was good till we glazed and tried to collect a week and two days later. I called the day before attempted collection and confirmed that our pieces would be there and ready to collect. The next day we went in and tried to collect only to find that the pieces were not in and that Trisha would only be in with them after 1pm. The expectation was that the pieces would be in store for collection at opening and not sometime in the afternoon. Really dissatisfied with this place. We paid a total of $140 for this experience and it wasn’t worth it for the lack of service delivery, the tiny little bit of clay we were given for the class and the lack of communication amongst the staff working there.
Mallory Clutts: My friends and I took the clay sculpture basics class and had a blast! We can’t wait to come back and finish our pieces. Will definitely look into trying out other classes as well!
Madison Wixon: Parkville Artisan's studio is a stunning step away from the day to day. Tricia is absolutely excellent with adults and children alike. From the novice to the experienced, she knows just how to work with you and help you achieve your goals and make you happy with whatever piece you are creating! I will always reccomend this incredible small business to anyone and everyone I know. Thank you for everything you do, Tricia! We love your spark and talent, and your ability to fit a day long course into a short hour!
Anita Belmore Wixon: Parkville Artisan's Studio is an oasis for me! When I walk through the doors I feel like the world just drops away from me! Tricia us the best instructor for my pottery and painting aspirations! She actually makes ME make my artistic decisions and choices while guiding me. Thank you!
Kathy Arnold: Very disappointed, in this class and how the pottery and paint turned out. The paint was too splochy still seeing the unpainted pottery underneath. This class is for children only not for anyone wanting to really learn. She doesn't really teach much and kind of finishes your pottery for you.
Wendy Landry: Trish is so fun to take painting and pottery classes with. Her energetic enthusiasm can help any newbie artist feel like they can create anything! Love this place.
Cristie Sharpsteen: Love this place. The amazing handmade dishes I purchased are frequently complimented and among my favorite things.
Randi Struxness: Lovely unique creations by local artists! I made 2 spontaneous purchases ... happy shopper! 👍👍
Marty B: This site great place to learn the basic skills on the Potters wheel, however it does not cater to those who wish to advance.
