The studio space she's created is gorgeous with amazing natural light and beautiful furniture/props. We felt so comfortable in her space, which showed in our photos. The photos themselves are stunning, and it's evident Risa loves what she does. We'll definitely be using Risa again for family photos.

Hannah Bruno: Kara took my maternity photos for me and they turned out BEAUTIFUL!!! Worth every penny. The only reason I’m giving 3 stars instead of 5 is bc I scheduled my session about 2 months in advance, I had never got professional photos done before so I wasn’t sure how the whole process worked... the whole process before the shoot was extremely stressful.. paid invoices had gotten messed up, I got an email saying my session was canceled, I had to contact her a handful of times bc I kept thinking something went wrong bc of all of the emails I was being sent. I was also told that I would get a 10 day and 2 day confirmation to be reminded of my shoot.. I didn’t get either, which made me extremely nervous bc I was worried my shoot was canceled. Finally, I had to contact her to confirm my shoot! I honestly felt like I was being annoying BUT I’m about to drop a whole lot of money on an important photo shoot.. so do you blame me?? The day of the shoot I was 30 mins early and she was 10 min late.. not a big deal, but still slightly irritating. Kara was very good at making us feel comfortable and again, the photos turned out great. After the shoot was over and we said our good byes we got our photos within 2 weeks which was the correct time frame. However, I did email a question regarding the photos on how I could print them... no response. Also, on her social media accounts she post tons of her sessions... maybe she didn’t like ours bc she had never posted a photo. Great photos, but the communication part could use some work!

My wife and I had the privilege of teaming up with Kara as the lead photographer for our wedding and she was amazing to work with from start to finish. She made the entire experience so fun and the least stressful it could possibly be. We also booked an engagement photo shoot with her (HIGHLY recommend doing this, by the way!) and I had no idea it was going to be as fun as it turned out to be! AND, we are so thankful we did it because we love the photos as much as we love the ones from our wedding - which were INCREDIBLE! We also purchased a wedding photo album from her and due to a delay in manufacturing (which was beyond her control), she even went above and beyond and gave us a gift to "apologize" for something that wasn't even her fault! Monica Gross: When my husband and I were looking for a wedding photographer I knew I wanted to have someone I trusted, and was comfortable with, because the photographer is with you essentially all day on your wedding day. We went with them for our engagement pictures and were so impressed that we booked them on the spot for our wedding.Kyle and Melissa were prepared to shoot us at every location. They scouted ahead of time and had alternate locations in case it rained (which it did the morning of our wedding! We had to move our first look). Between the two shoots, we took some photos in some iconic (and therefore popular) Kansas City and Lawrence locations. These photos were anything but typical - Kyle and Melissa found a number of ways to make our photos unique. We passed by a few other photographers while we were shooting engagement pictures, and I couldn’t help but notice that no one else was shooting where we were.During the reception dinner, when I imagine most photographers would take a break, Kyle was off editing a slideshow of photos from the day so far to play before our first dance. They knew how to make us laugh and get us to relax. They were very helpful in the planning process and built a suggested schedule for the day. We picked our favorites(WHICH WERE AMAZING), Melissa and Kyle got our final touch ups done and our guestbook was quick to follow... after we approved it of course. Their attention to detail and need for perfection for their client is absolutely unbelievable.WEDDING DAYKyle and Melissa arrived early and instantly got down to buisness. They followed their schedule(which they gave to us at a meeting, at our house to go over everything one last time. I know. AMAZING right?) to a T. They got through everything they needed to with absolutely no sense of urgency or rushiness. I actually felt like we had more time than we did. Throughout the course of the day, they weaved in and out grabbing people, snapping pictures, all while being present for the small moments that others would have missed. We made it to dinner with extra time to kill. During the evening, Kyle came and grabbed us and said we had to go outside because the clouds had cleared and we had a breath taking sunset. He could have not taken us back outside, or missed it... but he didn't. We were left with over 600 breathtaking, stunning, gorgeous, perfect still shot memories.We received our wedding pictures last night and to be honest it's a little sad. It's sad that our business is done. Over the last year and a half to 2 years I feel like we've become friends because they care so much for their clients.This company will go above and beyond your expectations. Their quality work, determination to make sure you're happy, attention to detail and general fun vibe you get with them makes it a no brainer. They're the best photographers I've worked with. I cannot say enough good things about Rivas. Both of them were very professional but also treated us with love and respect while laying out their vision for our big day. They took a lot of stress off of me and my husband because they were very transparent with their communication and also made a timeline for our wedding day from start to finish. They also reminded us that they made a backup Plan A, B, C, and D incase of weather, wardrobe issues, or scouting issues if something potentially needed to change. They are skilled and unbelievably talented; their ideas and guidance during our engagement session created a fun and stress free environment that resulted in BEAUTIFUL photos. Tony and Dorothy Maglione: Melissa and Kyle were absolutely terrific! From the beginning stages of the process though the big day, they made everything easy and so much fun! We had several planning meetings and they helped us craft a timeline for the day with lots of extra time built in so we weren't rushed at all. They gave us lots of great ideas (like for the men to go for a morning shave and to do a first look so we could actually enjoy the cocktail hour with our large family)! Throughout the day, Kyle, Melissa, and Anthony made what could have been a very hectic and stressful day, relaxing and fun! It was like we were hanging out with friends. The slideshow at the wedding was a HUGE hit and everyone loved getting to see the great shots they had captured earlier in the day! One of the things that drew us to Rivas Photography initially is the artistic aspect of their photos. Not only will we have shots from the day that include all of our special people, we have beautiful art that will be passed down to future generations. Kyle has a real eye for capturing really unique and stunning photos. Anyone can take a photo, but Rivas Photography captures and produces world-class art. This was the easiest wedding decision we made! We couldn't be happier!

My husband and I could not have been happier with the experience itself, and the pictures we now get to cherish for the rest of our lives. I actually discovered them at one of the bridal shows I went to as we were preparing for our wedding. In our initial conversation, they fielded my 20, or maybe more like 50, questions without skipping a beat. After seeing some of their work and talking with them that day I knew then and there I wanted to work with them, and thankfully after talking with husband and looking at their website together he was 100% on board, and we haven’t regretted it for a second. We did an extended engagement session with them, which I would highly recommend. Not only did the photos turn out beautifully, but the extra time with them gave us the opportunity to get used to them as our photographers and to get used to the idea of being together in front of a camera which helped to make our wedding day go much smoother. To be honest, I was a little worried about how my husband would do on both occasions because he can be a little shy when he is the center of attention or in front of the camera, but Marco and Erin helped us relax, open up, and come alive, working hard to inspire and to capture our different emotions and facial expressions They are people of excellence, have their own unique artistic style, pay obvious attention to detail, and pay skilled attention to the lighting, all of which resulted in capturing what I consider to be magazine quality photos. Practically they were super easy to work with and very flexible with our busy schedules and made it a point to touch base before our engagement session and our wedding day to make detailed timelines and plans and coordinated directly with our videographer and the venue to make sure everyone was on the same page. We had an intercultural wedding and a lot of different things planned for our wedding day and they worked hard to capture it all without getting overwhelmed or overwhelming us. They went above and beyond to make the most of every moment we shared together that day. I actually have video footage of them moving a couch that we rented off of the dance floor to prepare for our first dance! If that’s not service I don’t know what is! Definitely worth every penny!

You may have already seen it on their website.Cons: If you want your wedding picture to look like those on the website, you will end up paying more than the wedding package price. So ask a lot of questions before you sign the contract! We all know that weddings are not cheap and Photos Edge will do everything to squeeze each dollar out of your pocket.The one thing that upset me more than the money was their attitude. I was not expecting it at all, as they came off as a friendly and sweet couple in the beginning. But on our wedding day, they had a disagreement/verbal fight with each other while they were taking our pictures. This was very awkward and embarrassing for not just us, but our wedding party and families. We were very disappointed with their display of immaturity and lack of professionalism. Additionally, further communication done after the payment was short and rude.
