Kansas City Music Hall: what do users think?
John F: I had a great time seeing The Phantom of the Opera at the Kansas City Music Hall. The hall is a beautiful Art Deco theater with a spacious foyer and a grand staircase. The seats are comfortable and the acoustics are amazing. The show was spectacular, with stunning costumes, sets, and music. The cast was phenomenal, especially the actors who played the Phantom and Christine. They had such powerful and expressive voices that gave me goosebumps. The orchestra was also fantastic, playing the iconic songs with passion and skill. I was completely immersed in the story and the emotions of the characters. It was a memorable experience that I would highly recommend to anyone who loves musicals.
Tee Baby Le Jeune: Wonderful! HADC was in the house! My granddaughter danced 💃 ❤️ it was lovely 😍 All of the seats in the House were great!
SoJourner KennyZ: No bad seat in the house 😎
Charlene Lee: StubHub messed up my tickets and we didn't get to goThey tell you that they'll help you from buying the tickets to your seat and they didn't do anything for me. I don't have any problem with the music-hall that's good, but StubHub is horrible.
Katie Gillmore: Nice theater, but seems dated and not as high quality as others I've seen shows in.
Kathleen Morgan: The show we saw was fantastic, but the old Music Hall has definitely seen better days. Hope it gets an update soon.
Ben Black: Second time seeing Les Mis here. Amazing both times. The old music hall is beautiful. Limited selection of non-alcoholic drinks. Be careful where you park. Last time we returned to a broken window in our vehicle.
Jim Rusconi: Beautiful venue for a high school graduation
Scott Mullen: This beautiful old theater in downtown KC is the best place around to see shows and musicals.
Andy Staver: Still a very nice facility after all these years. I would like to see an upgrade in the sound system.
Jodie Green: I attended the Sunday evening performance of Les Mis and was very disappointed in the way the crowd was handled. It took us about 30 minutes to make it through security and up to the venue itself. By then, they had shut the doors and wouldn't let us in for 15 minutes. I'm not talking about a handful of people; there was a whole crowd who weren't admitted. We missed the whole premise of the musical! I was told I could watch it on the screen in the bar area, but there was no sound! One of the patrons finally managed to get the sound turned on, but by then we had missed critical elements of the show. If this venue is going to adhere to such strict guidelines for letting patrons enter, the need to do a better job of getting people checked in and through security. I was terribly disappointed!
Mike Hill: This beautiful venue feels like it's right out of the 1950's. Plush seating. Super Cozy. Sections are easy to access, and there are no bad views. So many have left their mark here. From artists, and writers, production staff, and stagehands. And the memories...Everyone who's ever been to this little hidden gem feels apart of it somehow.
Lou B: Staff isn't knowledgeable and the interior is not clean.
Millyh19: Great venue
Katie McAnany: Hui unióKiiiiok
Randy Piebes: What a terrible venue. We arrived early only to wait in a long line, then when we got in, they closed the doors as we were getting to them and we missed 25% of the play. If you have issues with lines, open the doors earlier. You should be penalized by the venues ineptitude.
Celeste L. Schmidt: I have been to the Music Hall many times, but the show I enjoyed most was 'River Dance'.The entire program was filled with the sights and sounds of Ireland. I was sitting about ten rows from the stage so my view was perfect. The cast contained musicians playing the music that the excellent dancers twirled, kicked, and jumped to. The Dance teams were excellent. The Music Hall is probably the best medium-sized venue in the city as far as acoustics, comfort, parking. You can always count on quality entertainment where you always get your money's worth.I have recommended the Music Hall for any performance to my family and friends in the past and will in the future.Celeste Schmidt
Richard Hammett: We attend Brioadeay musicals here. LES MIS was outstanding@
Rebecca Hawkes-Cates: We had to wait 14 minutes on a hold because we were 30 seconds late to the door. This was after security took about a half an hour to get through. Lines were out the door. It was ridiculous. Very unprofessional of the music hall to not prepare better. I don’t spend all this money on season tickets for this level of ill-preparedness. MANY of us had to wait outside.
Antwan Daniels: Kelce Brothers Podcast New Heights was well situated and the seats were average as far as comfort goes. The music hall had perfect sound and can hold a large crowd. The show smooth and clean. Chiefs and Eagles fan had great energy. The parking is really good across the street. $6 hour and close. Love Travis Kelce and Tony Gonzales.
Madison McCrorey: Absolutely gorgeous

Sean Crockett: I was walking down the sidewalk at First Fridays when I heard Taking Back Sunday "Cute Without the E" blasting from what used to be Thou Mayest coffee shop. Intrigued by the amazing musical choice I peeked my head in and noticed it was a new bar! A grand re-opening in fact! I'm now 4 beers in and the atmosphere is amazing! I look forward to chugging down many beers in the future here.Chelsea and Amanda are veteran bartenders and so welcoming! Come here to conversate and have a good time!
Aubrey Anderson: This was a really neat place with a cool vibe. I came here for breakfast with coworkers and had a great cup of hot chocolate ☕ They have quite a nice array of menu items for all types of coffee espresso, teas, lattes, spritzers, handcrafted cocktails, draft beer, cans of beer and domestics. The space is currently decorated for Christmas so swing by if you get the chance!
Michael Whitehead: Wonderful bar for Christmas themed drinks! Very festive, Cookie Dough Martini was delicious!
Keith Miller: Very nice and friendly place
Lluckycast IRL: I really appreciated the section with the mini fridge. The almond/dairy milk that was provided was fresh and chilled. I just wish some cinnamon was laid out close by so I could sprinkle it on... other than that party on.👌🔥
Jeff Breedlove: Hip and cool. Lattas are flavorful. They have oat and almond milk. Their matcha Latta is smooth tasty. A good selection of cookies too.
louis scaringella: If people are going to give a bad review, it needs to have information. The coffee is great, food from Mud Pie is a nice feature. Nothing about this place deserves less than 5 stars.
Katie Molnar: This place is so cute!!!! I had the Matcha Latte with Oat Milk this morning and it was wonderful :) the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and informed us about their products and how they source their ingredients locally. Plus the inside is to die for. It really is cute and feels homey!
Karrie Bloomer: Awesome Coffee and the guy working the counter was very friendly and helpful. It is definitely a place I would return to!
Lezlie Paden-Dowdell: My first time back since they switched vibes/ownership. Great experience and I will be back. Chill atmosphere. Kind customer service. Great coffee and adult-beverage menu plus a variety of delish baked goods and such. More affordable than other crossroad coffee shops for a simple cup of joe and a refill. No stank. No shade. No pretentiousness. Grateful for this option.
Ethan Albright: Great vibes and very crafty drinks. Cozy place and highly recommended. Awesome views of shows at Grinders too!
Ken Williams: This has quickly become my new favorite coffee shop. The drinks are good, but I really appreciate the multiple levels, indoor and outside seating, really cool atmosphere and variety of areas to do things like chat or study or read a book. Also, it's one of the few coffee shops in town that also has a full bar and serves alcohol.
Michael Maxwell: OMGosh, this place is awesome!! They have delicious coffee and perfect (I mean PERFECT) cocktails!! I met a friend (who doesn’t drink) after work and we were both able to get a robust drink to suit our desires (caffeine vs spirits)!! The staff is friendly, the place is welcoming, and it’s clear that they don’t skimp on the ingredients. The flavors were delightful and the pours were heavy! Do yourself a favor and go for the pick-me-up or the chill out; you won’t be disappointed!
allie souza: This is just a wanna be copy cat of Wake the Dead only couldn't even do that right! Don't even spend the money.
Aimee Rothrock: super cool place, awesome interior, and super nice staff. Awesome stop to just chill and get a couple drinks.
J. The super: Have a cup of coffee upstairs
Dane Montgomery: Breakfast old fashioned is delicious
shannon armstrong: Good coffee, friendly service. Only one person working so there was a wait but not too long.
Ian Stone: Thou Mayest was better
Dwaine Higgins: Great coffee, art, and people! Party on!

The Truman: what do users think?
Ado “Talynebear”: Clean, open space. Good band and good trucks.
Terry Giglio: Had a great experience here
Rachel Buckle: Shakey Graves @ The Truman!
Amy Cook: This was my first time here. I came to watch Ugly Kid Joe. Security was easy to get through. It felt like you were right up there with the band . Also pretty easy to step away and get some space. The venue was really neat. The artwork on the walls outside in the smoking area is beautiful.
Michelle Chance: I like the Truman. Shakey Graves!!!!! Bartender in the Loft, AWESOME!
Bernie Marks: Great place to go for a concert! We were so close to the stage and we loved every minute of it.
Lonnie Gasser: Excellent place to see a show. Very personal experiences because you can get up to the stage with ease
Alysha: Had a good experience overall but they merch line would have gone a lot faster if all the workers were working together at the table.
Kelsie Bayless: Saw "they might be Giants" there and it was a great location! Staff and security were quick and nice too
Ryan Kulke: Awesome venue
Ryan Holmes: Nice venue, stayed cool. Ample parking
Alexia Metcalf: Good staff. Not bad handicapped area. Really clean bathrooms. They need some type of alternative seating/ benches or something in the back.
Steve Zbacnik: Great concert.
James Aldrich: As always had a great time!
wesley Simmons: Great, except this was a standing room only tmbg show. No seating.
AJ Pierucci: Nice venue for live music. Very clean restrooms.
Jacob Rose: Solid venue for a decent amount of people to bounce around.
Hubble Hill (Hub): It is the perfect size for a small venue. Bathrooms are clean, and the parking is good.
Nathan Hunt: Plenty of room for shows, easy to get drinks. It's a simple venue, but it has what you need for a good concert
Christopher McKinzie: Pretty cool venue. Security needs to act faster though

Madrid Theatre: what do users think?
Kevin Sill: Great venue. Ushers didn’t know where our seats were and tried to argue with me about my seat. Despite the ticket clearly stating front row cabaret seats.
Torrie S: A neat theater for attending concerts.
Vicky Lowe: Great place to host your family celebration !
Scott Shaw: Enjoyable experience ruined by overly power hungry security staff on the upper level. Here's a tip:If the venue is 50% full, don't harass your patrons with an iron fist.
Harley Lynn: The show we went to here was intimate and AMAZING!!! One of the staff members watching the crowd was being kind of mean, but it was still awesome. AND the lady in charge of tickets and shows helped us trade in for better tickets!
Seni Senait: I wish there is more parking space. 😩
Aaron Smith: This venue is amazing! Old 1920s charm. Acoustics are good. Only negative mark is the drinks. Having stellar drinks to go with the 1920s vibe is an unmet expectation. No gin at all, vodka-cranberry tastes like cough medicine. Otherwise, this is a great concert experience!
Justin Hardcastle: Venue was cool, however it was weird that they only had about 50 seats. I’m glad I spent a little more and reserved a seat. I hate standing room only concerts.
Sandra Bollinger: Went 4 a RAKIM concert the atmosphere was nice loved the concert.
Harley Busch: Beautiful!
Michael Aaron Saunders: The God MC Rakim, The one call Tech N9ne, The Mayor of KCSean Tyler and The insane MC X-Raided!!
Charlie Nigro: Charges a 2$ fee if you're too young to buy alcohol so they can still find a way to exploit you instead of over priced drinks.
C C: Nice place but drinks are expensive and weak and chairs are super uncomfortable
Bethany Jones: Such a nice venue! We saw a concert here. It was really the perfect size, not too big, or too small. It’s beautiful inside!Drink prices were fairly reasonable. Staff was friendly when interacting them. We don’t live in Kansas City, but I would definitely come back here!
Brigine Newman: I was on the search for a venue for our wedding. It was the worst communication I have ever had. I tried to message Missy through The Knot and by text and she would ignore a couple messages so I would have to keep reaching out to her. If she is this way now I can only imagine what it would be like on the day of the wedding.
Brian Palmer: Lovely place, no bad seats in the house. Absolutely will come back!
Timmy Gibson: As a Wedding Officiant I get to see so many elegant Venues, but nothing can compare to the Madrid Theatre, it's breathtakingly beautiful. Just the architecture alone is to drool over. The staff is professional, accommodating, and helpful. I highly recommend The Madrid Theatre for your Wedding or Event.
Michael Bessler: Awesome venue! Very eclectic atmosphere!
Blake Underwood: Staff was helpful and venue was bumping. I could feel the vibrations thru the walls. And the EDM crowd is the best crowd out there!
Janessa Mckissack: What a fun place for a concert! So cool.
Jason Frank: It's a nice little venue for an intimate concert.

Uptown Theater: what do users think?
Susie Hubbell: Fun small venue
Glenn Bourland: Got to see Bad Omens here, really cool venue.
Sarah P: About died inhaling everyone vaping inside which I had no idea would happen but looking at the site, it says it’s a non smoking venue including vapes and e-cigarettes. I was there for 4 hours and should’ve honestly left as soon as I was aware of it.
Crystal Hovey: Awesome location to see a show. They have a bar downstairs and upstairs, which is nice. Love the style of the theater. It's beautiful!
Dana Lippold: First time seeing a concert there, fantastic venue!
Rob R.: Beautiful venue, friendly service, very expensive beers.
Taj Moses: Saw Sisters of Mercy opened by A Primitive Evolution. The venue was clean and we'll maintained. Staff was friendly but efficient. There was even a very cool bathroom attendant in the men's room. The interior design is really charming. A really fun place.
Hannah Kat: Great venue! I want to see more concerts here BUT they wouldn’t let us back in after the show, not even to buy T-shirt’s. I stepped out to see if the band would do a meet and greet and then they wouldn’t let me back in to buy some t-shirts! I didn’t get to meet the band and I didn’t get any t-shirts! Totally bummed! Sisters of Mercy rocked!!
clark batson: It is restored and immaculate inside. Good parking close by. Great concert hall.
Edwin McMillan: Been to many, many shows there. I've been in bands that have played there. Always a great venue, and has a side room that also has a smaller more intimate vibe. Also great bars at descent prices...I guess. Lol
Van s: Love this place. Perfect size for good shows and the bar manager is awesome!
KC Event Co: The uptown theater is an amazing venue! We had the pleasure of working with them for some recent events, and they were so accommodating for everything! Thanks and we hope to be back soon!
Nicolaus Mori: Always good vibes and friendly staff
chelsee kingrey: Had a super time at the Bad Omens concert 6/2/23. The venue was super cold when we got in and you could feel the ac try and keep up with how hot it was in there. (sold out show no way it could 100% keep up). Staff was friendly and patient and everything was clean.
Leesa Balisalisa: Good venue. Loads of parking across the street. If you're coming in late, let the folks at the door know which show you're going to, they had us waiting in line for a different part of the venue and missed a little bit of the headliner.
Kenny Bales: Amazing security, staff, and venue. Super helpful and chill.
Yadira Chicas: Easy to find with plenty of nearby parking.
Thomas Jones: This is the best place in Kansas city to see a indoor show
Nicole West: Ways a good atmosphere
Teresa Wilson: Always good vibes and great stagg
bunnie foofu: Great venue! Parking is a challenge, though

Grinders KC: what do users think?
David Moore: Used to be better no one likes new owners
Drew Sasse: Love the cheese steak, I think best in town.Pizza is great. Love the atmosphere.Great concert venue, has tons of good bands and artists. Location is great
Adam Gilfillan: Great venue, food, music
chris kalkofen: Cool venue with nice amenities and prompt service.
Corinna Napolitan: Became very attached to this place through the years. Its a marvelous set up and layout. The city views are ambient. The wonderful sound, stage presents, and 360° view of stage and grounds always enjoyable. Mid-sized crowds, great staff....BUT the poorly engineered equipment canapy recently installed. Just halted our decisions to view a high profile band here again. It destroyed the view, the comfort, and created a packed standing crowd trying to find the stage around it. Not sure why this decision was made. Felt it impacted hundreds of paying guests. Jeff, this is your industry. Not sure what happened with this? Peace
Aaron “Sir'Saahir” Hamilton: My favorite place with Good Vibes
Angela F: Went to my first GWAR concert here. Absolutely loved it! The concert goers and employees were awesome! Everyone was there to have a good time and we did! Can't wait to go to another Grinders event!
Amber Roudebush: Cannabrew event was awesome, great set up and easily enjoyed. The hosts did a great job and look forward to future events.
cybrgrl Seveneighttwo: This is a really cool small events venue. The staff is awesome and there's no place in the venue with a bad view. Stop at the restaurant when you go for killer cheesesteaks
Christophero Brownero: Gwar is the shyt wherever you go.....highly recommend it 👊
Russell Primeaux: WHAT A GREAT VENUE AND PLACE TO EAT AMD ENJOY A DRINK.
Jeffrey Speight: Tejon and The Street Corner Thieves. Awesome concerts @Grinders 👏 With Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band and The Dead South ❤✌🤘Best lineup in years.
Haplo Splatshot: Great local venue. Easy access relatively inexpensive prices compared to other places
Sarah Conniff: This is Kansas City standard. It's a great outdoor event space that is clean, safe, and very fun. Grinders food is available and there are multiple bars inside.
Rebecca Kelly: Always a solid venue for smaller shows. Good pizza as well!
Jovanna Schlossenberg: Such a great indoor and outdoor event space! Welcoming to vendors and patrons of all ages. Live music a music and great food! Order pizza by the slice, calazone,, philly cheesesteak... there's nothing you couldn't think of that they don't have on this menu, it is absolutely scrumptious and an amazing place to take your friends, family or business partners!
Bonnie S.: So, the show was great. The venue has no seats and can get very cramped and VERY hot depending on the time of year. The ground cover is made from wood mulch, which presents its own pros and cons. Honestly the place isn't bad but I find myself dreading shows here because it can be taxing to stand in 90° weather for 5+ hours. Also, it's hard to accept a $30 price tag (before tip) for two beers. But it is what it is. Some really good shows come through there so if you can handle being on your feet in sweltering heat or whatever else the weather throws your way, you'll have a great time.
Laurie McDonell: Last night at the Franti show I learned that this venue is NOT ADA friendly at all! I had arrived an hour before my wheelchair bound friend and her family to ensure their arrival and entrance would be smooth. I had met with Ria, wonderful person and very helpful, to save a spot for them in the parking lot by the main entrance, but upon arrival the "guard" told them that the lot was full even tho they could see open spots and said they had one saved for them...nope...they had to park a couple of blocks away. Entry into the venue was worse than that. I had everything arranged for them at the main entrance, but given where they had to park the VIP entrance, we all had VIP tickets, was the closest. The girl with the floppy hat at the entrance told me that "they could figure it out" when I wanted to watch for them and to signal them to come in that entrance. When I saw them I had to YELL thru the crowd to grab their attention because this girl wouldn't let me even have one foot out of the doorway. I had also arranged with the troopers that were there to follow me and allow me back in, but nope! I understand there are rules to follow, but there is ZERO need to be rude! She said, "i will only tell you one more time or I won't let you back in" I again explained the situation and her reply again was ,"they can figure it out." We are friends with the opening band and wanted to be near the stage, but with the surface being all wood chips we couldn't get the wheelchair thru that, so they had to go all the way around the block to enter where there was cement. I was embarrassed and felt beyond sorry for this family. I will never ever return and hope some sensitivity training is offered...especially for the floppy hat girl...there was no reason for her to treat me like sh*t when I was only trying to help a family going thru a very difficult time! There is more that I could say, but I think you get the idea. ADA compliance is way different than ADA friendly.
Seania Crowley: Easily one of my favorite venues in Kansas city. Parking can be an adventure so you want to try to get there early if you're driving. Drink lines can be a little long but they pour heavy so it's worth it. Great music assortment, great venue. You can see well from almost anywhere. Lots of good food options nearby and good pizza inside. It's mostly standing room but you can get nice and close, plus the mulch is great for standing on your feet for so long. Way better than pavement.
lisa wolf: Cheryl Crow never gets old!!
J Zam: It's always hot when I go here, otherwise 5 of 5

The Westport Saloon: what do users think?
Aaron Grinnell: Best venue in town for supporting local musicians! I'm really gonna miss this place after they close. I hope they're able to find a new location soon.
Ryan Kulke: Awesome live music
Aarti Pandya: This place is an absolute gem! The bouncer is friendly and the live music was awesome! We had such a great time here dancing and enjoying the music! Will absolutely be going back!
Patrick T: Warm wood and brick throughout. On warm days, they've got a wall to wall floor to ceiling garage door bringing the outside in. Great live music. Covid took a toll, the kitchen is currently closed, and they don't open till 5. Music is often old school blues, bluegrass, plenty of open Mike jams of the same. Occasionally a rock or funk band plays... (usually a fusion that fits in the nice warm space). A whiskey and beer pub. Yes, pub vs any ol bar.
Mark Zoochory: Always a great place to have a beer when I’m in town.
David Dorrell: Live Bluegrass most Wensday nights
William Dixon: My go to spot in Westport to catch live shows! The regulars are the best ever!Breezie is the greatest bartender ever! The rest of the staff deserves a shout out too!
Paul Estes: Always great live music
andy haun: I support live, local music and enjoy bars. But beer #1 was flat and too warm, beer # 2 was just too warm. After waiting for 45 minutes (after paying the cover charge) waiting for the advertised guitar player to begin, I found out it would be another hour. The guy that was playing in his place sounded as if he was making up the songs as he went along - at about 120 dB.Not recommended.
Mizzou Marine: This place is FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC!!! Awesome owner, great staff and the atmosphere is AMAZING!!! If you’ve had a negative experience here, you love a brick wall. Super fun!!!!
Jake Jacobs: Great drinks, great bands, and to top it off an awesome bartender! I believe his name was Will and his drinks and service were on point all night.
Amie A: One of my favorite venues to attend and play.
Katie Molnar: Really cool bar tucked away in Westport. Bartender was nice and attentive--great at handling all the drinks! Live music was awesome, of course. Lot of unique and different sounding musicians played while I was there, which is nice because it allows you to listen to music you might never would have before!
Carolynn Rose Arroyo: Cozy atmosphere and great live music! Everyone there was pretty friendly. The gentleman behind the bar, Will, was welcoming and even the bouncer was polite. Definitely worth checking out! Thank you guys for the great time
Melanie Taylor: Thank you for a great time!
Chase Reece: Cheap cheap cheap
amy connor: 10/10 would cry here again
jacob salmons: Great prices good music love the jams on Tuesday nights
John Clymore: Coronavirus and over priced drinks made the experience ok. Not a place I will probably go back to.
Phillip French: Good drinks and music
SamMarie Mayrut: Love, Love, Loved this place! was delicious!
